Group Data locked for material

Hi,
I have an interface that failed because the "Group Data" of the material was locked.
I am aware of "Material being locked by another user". However I don't know how the group data gets locked or what group data refers to.
In most cases when I run the interface after some time, the material posts correctly. But I'd like to know what exactly locks group data and how I can check if it has been unlocked subsequently.

Hi,
This message comes usually when you attempt to change the material using fm calls and material header MARA is locked (that is material itself is locked) by some other user .
What you can do is to call lock fm ENQUEUE_EMMARAE
before calling your material update logic and see whether the lock is successful. If the lock is successful then you can proceed with the update logic.

USMM :- data locked for transfer

Hi All,
I am doing system measurement using USMM.
But I am getting error "Measurement Data locked for Transfer"
I tried note 412391.
But its not working acc. to the note
I m getting a to do task in transaction SDCCN for early watch alert
I m not able to delete the table entries as mentioned in the note
I m using release 640

Classification Data Creation for Material Master Record

Hi all.
I've a batch that update material master record with a Bapi "Bapi_material_savedata". After Material creation or changing we also need to insert or to change a classification data in the classification view of the material master record.
Is there a function module that could be useful to update the classification data of a material?

Group data locked error for MM01 using parallel processing

Hello gurus,
I am using Call txn method (MM01) Parallel Processing method ( around 9 threads ). The Materials are getting locked around 10 percent sometimes.
This is happening randomly ..one day i dont have any locking errors ..next day i have ...Any ideas why this could be..any prereq i need to check before executing the parallel processing..

Hi Sasidhar
I guess you are either extending the Sales Data or MRP Data. Just make sure that you are processing these transactions in a linear form for a single material. We can use parallel processing for different materials but for a single material if we go for parallel processing we can definetely expect the Lock Objects error.

Can not see warehouse management data screens for material while extending.

I want to extend material for warehouse managment views.I can not see these views for the material in MM01.Looks like this is some thing to do with material type configuration.Can some one assist me how to do this?

1)Check whether the material exist for that plant and storage location which is assigned to warehouse number .
spro->enterprise structure->assignment->logistic execution->assign warehouse number to plant/sloc.
2) Check in OMS2 tcode in the material type setting WM view is selected.

Segmentation in WebUi, profile group is locked

Hi,
I know when I create a profile goup in the WebUi and I open the target group, this profile group is locked for other users.
But when I opened the target group, I can't work because this profil group is locked by myself.
Have anybody the same problem or does anybody know how I can handle it?

Hi Murali,
The solution I am suggesting below is for CRM 5.0 pls validate the same for your requirement if it helps.
If you are executing BI Query with lots of data in BI System, it will give you timed out eror even in BI server. Now the same query we are using in CRM for Target group timed out error will appear even in CRM system. The way out for this issue is to put some filters for this BI Query as we do in BI Server.
In Segment builder we have an option "Edit Filter Conditions" where we can put the filter for BI queries used in CRM. This we can get by right click on the Attribute value.
My Suggestion is not to pick all your data at once try putting some filter and minimise the data to be collected in Target group. In other words split your Target groups in 4 to 5 Target gorups.

Populate key figure attributes values for material & location in inventory

Hi all,
We have a Inventory Infocube. the dimensions of the inventory infocube contains material, location and material-location and also the time dimension with calday, week and month. The different key figures in the infocube are Unrestricted Stock Balances, Unrestricted Stock Receipts, Unrestricted Stock Issues, QI Stock Balances, QI Stock Issues, QI Stock Reciepts, Blocked Stock Balances, Blocked Stock Receipts, Blocked Stock Issues. The following is the definition for master data objects
Material Master - ATTRIBUTES :- Business Unit, Manufacturing Plant, Base to Case Conversion Factor(key figure attribute)
Location Master - ATTRIBUTES:- City, State, Country, Location Type
Material Location master - ATTRIBUTES:- Material, Location, MRP Controller, Source Location, Standard Cost(key figure attribute)
We have a report with material, location, calender day and with all the stock balances keyfigures. also in the report we have the key figure attributes of material master and material location (like standard cost and base to case conversion). We have defined a formula variable on these attribute key figures with replacement path.
The problem is none of the records are getting populated with the standard cost and base to case conversion.
We are NOT doing any conversion at the report level.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

There could be few possibility:
1. The variable you are inputting for standard cost and base to case conversion may not have any values in the master data.
2. See the master data table for Material and location. Note down those materails and location for which there are values for standard cost and base to case conversion. Now, run the reports for these materials
and location.
Btw, have made standard cost and base to case conversion as nav attributes. Plz make them nav attributes and see.

Creating Data Source for Variant Configuratior characteristics.

I'm trying to create a data source for material classification that is using the Variant Configurator. In transaction CTBW I'm using the following:
- Basis datasource = 0MATERIAL_ATTR
- Client 150
- Class Type 300 for Variants.
- Obj Table = MARA
- Data Source Type = ATTR
I then get the following error messeage:
"Object type is not a sheet type in the class type".
Dose any one understand this message or how I should create the datasource for this classification?

Ok, so since 0material can have multiple values I cannot use CTBW to extract the values.
My company is using the variant configurator on a material number 'EXTND_WARRANTY' in R/3. This material is defined as a configurable material. The Class is 'ZEW_SOFTWARE' with the following characteristics:
-Material Number
-License Key
-Maintenance Length
-Coterminous Enddate MM/DD/YYYY
In BW reporting we need to show the material 'EXTND_WARRANTY' with the value of the characteristic Material Number.
Can you tell me how I can accomplish this?

Cost relevancy indicator for Material

Dear PS colleagues,
Refer to the subject, when we assign a material to activity then sometimes cost relevancy indicator (on General Data tab for material) is ticked & sometimes not, can you guide me how it is controlled.It seems that it may me controlled from material master but not sure.Pl suggest...

Hi,
All materials which are account assigned to network/ activity, or WBS element are defaulted with cost-relevancy indicator, though this can subsequently be changed manually. This defaulting is hard-coded (as far as I know) and is dependent on the procurement type . For instance, if you attach a stock (cat:L)material component with collective requirement indicator in MRP4 to a network activity and if you opt for procurement type "Planned Indpendent requirement", you will find that 'Cost Relevancy" indicator is not defauluted. For the same material component with the setting material master settings, if you opt for procurement type "Reservation to Network", the cost relevancy indicator gets defaulted.
Obviously, text type materials etc. will not have any cost relevancy.
Hence, we can conclude that materials which are account assigned (i.e which are relevant for adding cost to proejct objects) will be defaulted with "Cost relevancy" indicator.
If you use BOM transfer functionality, you can define the cost relevancy in the "Profile for BOM transfer"

ALE/IDOC:The group data for the material CS94163AOOO is locked by ECPUSER

Dear All,
I have extended the idoc for MATMAS and getting -The group data for the material CS94163AOOO is locked by ECPUSER
error on receving ( production ) server.I have written BDC in Z-function module to upload the data for extended segments after calling IDOC_INPUT_MATMAS01 function module.
When the same scenario executed in development server the material is not getting locked and idoc is posted successfully.
Please guide to resolve the error.

Authorization group in the material master are maintained at the material type level.
SPRO->IMG-> Logistics - General-> Material Master-> Basic Settings-> Material Types-> Define Attributes of Material Types
List of authorization roups can be found in table T134-Material Types
this filed is a free defined 4 charcter field.

SAP query for Material pricing group changes in material.

Dear all,
I'm trying to generate a query for Material Pricing group changes in material. For that I've to retrieve data from follwing three tables MVKE, CDHDR & CDPOS.
Firstly while generating infoset -
I tried it by joining tables MVKE & CDHDR, but system is not allowing it, also table CDPOS can't bejoined.
Then I tried by reading dirctly from table MVKE and then adding additional fields in it. query created using this infoset is giving the output, however it's giving only 1 entry per material entered in input.
for multiple entries in output for MPG changes in same material I tried creating addtional structure for table CDHDR & CDPOS but again I'm getting only 1 entry per material.
please suggest how I can get MPG changes done in specified time period for a material.

Check the report RSSCD100 and run it for object MAT_FULL for table MVKE. Use this report as a template for your own development.
