Group wikis not visible to public

I have two wikis running on 10.6.3. They are both available to group members if they manually type in the address http://servername/groups/wiliname/
However, if you go to http://server_name/ and click on the "Wikis" button, nothing is visible. Neither wikis are public, so if you log into "my page", they do become visible.
Is this "normal" behavior"? Essentially to hide the wiki from view, if you are not logged into "your page", or is there some permission that would make them visible to public view, but not available?

Note that two wikis on the same host can be accessed by their group name. But that doesn't allow any more than getting a login popup if the access priviledges are correctly assigned.
Each wiki is assigned to a group and its membership determines who gets access. Along with group membership additional access settings can be set in WGM but more detailed if you use Directory.app by selecting a specific group.
If the setting is for Access to all authorized users then that applies to all users in Open Directory. A more specific setting is required to limit access to group members only.
Additionally the setting of Viewable to all authorized users allows any members in the directory to see wiki content but not add or modify content. They will be allowed to make comments.
If a wiki is to be closed to all except group members then access is select for group members only. With this setting only group members can get passed the login prompt.
This is not exhaustive of all the possibilities but does demonstrate a range of control. The wiki access controls are not as fine grained as ACLs but can be used effectively.
It is eye opening to realize that an authorized user includes any one that can login to the directory.

When I sync this -- the only Outlook folder/group that is synced is my main 'Contacts' folder/group. All the rest of my folders/groups are not being transferred to my iPhone. I've had this issue for a few months now -- and though I like the iPhone, my old Blackberry nev er presented this problem when it came to the simple base function of syncing. Available Group Wikis not update after group is removed

I removed group from workgroup manager and directory service. But group wiki is still shown on Groups home page and I can even login with old member's id and password. How I can remove this?

Yep, I'm having a similar issue.
I've deleted the wiki site, created a new one (same domain) and added new groups. When I view the site the old groups and all the old data is all I can see. Obviously Groups bear no resemblance to the data - maybe they just provide authentication?
Anyone know how to delete a Wiki and have it permanently removed?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Group Wikis not respecting set permissions - OS X Server 10.5.6

I have an x serve running 10.5.6 and the web service enabled and working with 2 wikis.
2 Groups both with wikis up and running.
I recently discovered that one of the members from Group A (wiki A) can access the wiki B site.
This is a big problem that I am trying to resolve.
I know the 1st thing logically would be to update to the latest release...but this isn't an option currently, and I want to explore other less disruptive alternatives first.
I wondered if anyone has come across something like this ?
I have tried creating a realm for the wiki folder in question with no sucess..
recreating the offending group (the one that has access when it should) isn't really an option either as has 100 members or so.

I am fairly sure i have configured things ok but if i try to access groups page (eg whp.com.au/groups) i get an error
"Service unavailable!
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.
Error 503"
NOTE: web services for the domain are checked and I have a couple of groups in WGM set to use that service for wikis. Anything else? thanks

I have a Leopard server that has the same problem. We have a small intranet that is hosted on the same server and that works fine, but as soon as you go http://server.example.com/groups/ it gives you the error:
Service Temporarily Unavailable

I don't understand why we are getting this. I know the wiki server part was working (sorta) before I updated to 10.5.5 server, but it doesn't work anymore and we actually want to use it now!
I know the update was suppose to help the wiki and blog services etc but it doesn't work at all now.
Any help would be much appreciated, as this one baffles me!

Human Task: Claimed Group task not visible to others in group

We've recently upgraded from SOA Suite 10.1.3 to SOA Suite 11.1.1.3.
We're using the standard worklist application in both versions.
In 10.x, if we assigned a Task to a Group, all members of the group would always see the task in the worklist application.
If a group member claimed the task, the other group members would still see the task in the work list, and could see the task details (read-only) in the detail screen
All group members could also see all group tasks, regardless of status/outcome (completed, withdrawn, refused, etc.) and regardless of the group member that completed the task, if they chose the filter "Any".
In 11g, a group task that is claimed by another group member disappears from the worklist (on refresh), and users only see completed group tasks if they completed the task themselves.
We did grant "View Task" to all roles for the *.task in JDeveloper ("Actions" Tab)
and either "Read" or "Write" for all combinations in the "Content" Tab.
Is this is a "feature" ?
Is there some way to configure the old behaviour ?

Can anyone put some thoughts on this.
For normal report if I give u2018view instancesu2019 right over the folder for users, they can see instance ran by other user. However if I try to do the same thing with publication it doesnu2019t work this way.
Only publisher or recipients can see the instance created in the folder ,for rest it shows a blank page saying u2018No items to displayu2019 . I tried to add other users in u2018administratoru2019 group and with that access also they could not see instance there for publication. Is this the expected behavior of publication. If so we might have to look for another approach to meet the requirement.

Group Wikis not being created

Hi,
I've got a new server running 10.5.3 Server.
I create a group in WM and select all of the services (Mailing list, Wiki, Blog, etc) and the group is created no problem. However, no wiki is created for the group.
I've looked in /Library/Collaboration/Groups and no folders exist for the new groups. Old ones exist from when the server was administered in Standard Mode but it is now running in Advanced Mode.
Permissions are as they were out of the box:
_teamserver rw
What do I need to do in order to create the folders? Has something broken during the conversion from standard to advanced?

Hi Stu,
Make sure your in Workgroup Manager, select the Group and under Basic, check enabling following services. The dropdown box should have your server's ip address. Also make sure the appropriate checkboxes are marked for wiki and blog.
Once you've created the group, you need to open Terminal and type sudo CreateGroupFolder and enter your root password (usually the first account on the server like ladmin). You should see a message stating the Group folders are created in /Library/Collaboration/Groups/<groupname>.
Executing the command in Terminal creates the necessary wiki, blog files. Go to Server Admin, under Services...Web...Sites tab...Web Services. Select your website and make sure Services for Group...wiki and blog is checked. Make sure a user or group is selected with permission to create (edit) wiki/blog and click save.
If your wiki stops working for any reason (disabled on you home page) remember to reset the permissions from terminal: sudo chown -R 94:94 /Library/Collaboration/
The 94:94 sets the permissions to the teamsserver account which the wikis need to operate. Hope this helps.

Users/groups not visible in WGM after migration. (UIDs lower than 500)

I have migrated from a 10.5 to a 10.6 server.
Some of my user & groups are not visible in the WGM. However, the user can login to the system.
I discovered that if I check Workgroup Manager > View > Show System Records, that I can see the missing users and groups. The users and groups all of UID/GID's from 100 to 130.
All of the affected users & groups were created many versions ago, probably Mac OS X 10.1 Server. The accounts that are visible are newer and have UID's starting in either at 501 or 1025. So it looks like overtime OS X server has changed what ID's are used for system vs. users.
What is the proper way to solve this problem? The WGM will let me to manually change the UID/GID, but I am worried about doing this will not change file ownerships.

You are correct, the ACL and or POSIX permissions will not update if you just change the UID of the group or user account. You will need to add the new UID to the directories in question. And be sure to propagate the permissions.
I would take one each group and user account and use it as a test case to discover how much is involved. Document what steps are needed to make the changes and then do them in bits and pieces.

DIR through CV01n -not visible in easy DMS

Dear all,
1)I have created DIR through CV01n . But its not visible in public/private folder in the easy DMS. but when i do search the same DIR, it is visible in search folder.when i am trying to move same DIR to public folder or any folder system has given a pop-up and asks "do you want to like or copy this DIR " .
wht is that?
2) Is it possible to link the DIR directly to the folder at time of creation or uploading through browser or other method.

regarding your questions I have to inform you that the reason for this is that the create document info record is not inlcuded in the document BOM (e.g. header EDIPUBLICFOLDER). So you would have to add the new DIR to the document structure first.
If you create a new document directly in EasyDMS then it will be automatically added to the related folder structure.
In the backend I think you can use the new document browser functionality in CV01N to create new documents which are also just added to a document BOM. Therefore please press the button 'Select Document via' in transaction CV01N and choose weither 'Browser' or 'Selection Screen and Browser'. In the context menu of the browser you will find to item 'Create'.

Disappearing Groups in Available Group Wikis Page

I found a temporary fix to an ongoing issue and I am looking for a more permanent "fix", if there is such a thing...
The issue is the individual group wiki not appearing in the "Available Group Wikis" when going to https://www.myserver/groups/.
The set up is several xserves within the network, one of which is OD Master, the others are replicas. One of the replicas services the external IP, and this is the one with the no available wikis notation on the Available Group Wikis" page. The group wiki is actually on that server, and can be reached by going to https://www.myserver/groups/mygroup.
In experimenting with this, I found that I can get the mygroup wiki to appear on the Available Group Wikis page IF: I first copy the mygroup folder/directory found in Library/Application Support/Collaboration/Groups to another location (desktop works); then delete the mygroup folder/directory in Collaboration/Groups; then browse to https://www.myserver/groups/mygroup (results in the default wiki page); then browse to https://www.myserver/groups/ and the mygroup listing is there. Next step is to copy the subfolders wiki and weblog from the original mygroup back to the new Collaboration/Groups/mygroup folder; and, change the permissions for the lot back to _teamsserver as it was originally.
All is fine and the mygroup listing and link remains in the Available Groups Wikis page - UNTIL, the server is restarted or web server is restarted. After a restart, the Available Groups Wikis page is back to not showing any groups...
The question is: where is the document that is getting loaded when restarting web server that either deletes the mygroup listing on the Available Groups Wikis page, or fails to see that there is a group to be listed, or how is this otherwise fixed?

How are you changing the perms back to _teamserver, through Server Admin showing system accounts? Make sure you are connecting to that local machine's Server Admin when setting the _teamserver perms for the Collaboration dir and not the OD Server. This might be causing a conflict if you are using the _teamserver account from your OD Master rather than the local machine.
Otherwise you can try wiping your ACLs using:
sudo chmod -R -N /Library/Collaboration
Then setup your ACLs again on the local machine's Server Admin with system accounts being shown or via the terminal.

OIM 11gR2 : User groups not visible on UI

Hello Experts,
I have a requirement in which i need to assign the user provisioned to AD to some group(s) depending upon certain conditions like BU, Location etc. I created a Process Task adapter for the same and am able to successfully assign the users to the desired groups.
But i am able to check for this validity from the Backend only.
Ideally the groups assigned to the user must be visible after following these steps:
*1. Search for a user provisioned to AD.
2. Go the the Accounts tab.
3. Click on the AD account (to which the user has been provisioned)
4. A process form is displayed in the lower half of the webpage which also shows the information regarding the groups assigned to the User. But the groups are not getting displayed.*

But sir, the groups are listed under the Accounts tab. Is there any schedule job provided by OIM 11gR2 which results in the display of Groups assigned to the user as well under the Accounts tab ?

How to read contents of files that do not fall under public security group?

Hi,
I need to read the contents of a WCM based xml file that does not fall under public security.
The process is like this:
First the user makes chnages to the content.
The workflow will be triggred based on the security group metadata that is associated with the content.
Once the content is finally approved our workflow calls a custom idoc script.
First we tried directly reading the xml contents from the idoc script which was still in the context of workflow. But since content item is still in workflow I was not able to read the changes. So I created a separate content publisher thread and read the DOC_INFO and checked for the dStatus value. If the value is RELEASED then I reading contents by calling ssIncludeXml idoc script.
This was working fine for public content. But now the requirement is that all content cannot be public. Content authors should not be able to edit the content that does not belong to their group, So we created security groups (and roles) and are associating that groups to the relavent content.
Beacuse of this change I am not not able to read the non public content. The call to DOC_INFO_BY_NAME service, which gives all the content files' metadata, is expecting the user to be logged in to give the details.
I tried calling the CHECKIN service with sysadmin and captured the cookies returned by that service and use cookies for the DOC_INFO_BY_NAME service call. But the service call was faling. It is throing the 401 forbidden error with the message that user needs to be logged in to get the details.
How to address this problem. Someone please help.
Note: I also tried using ridc for this. I was able to get it working but since it is executing in the context of server ridc api is changing server's environment properties like HTTP_HOST, HTTP_CGIPATHROOT etc. It also seemed like system was becoming non functional after using ridc. When I called check-in the system metadata values like security group are no more loading. Not sure if ridc is the culprit here but worried that it might be causing this issue.

Sorry, I posted too much details while posting this question. I was saying "not able to read *non* public content".
Anyway, I was able to resolve the issue. I was able to authenticate with sysadmin credentials in the request to service using basic authentication and was able to read doc info with that credential.
But I realized there is more than option for reading secure content.
- I could set user name as sysadmin in the m_environment (if I am in the context of a service) and the call the DOC_INFO_BY_NAME service.
- I can post an HTTP request to DOC_INFO_BY_NAME service with sysadmin credentials and do basic authorization via the connection. (This is what i have done successfully as of now )
- I could add guest role to all security groups with R (read) privileges.
I will look into all options and implement the one which is more apt.

Not visible in group messaging

Hi,
I have a Curve 8530 and have upgraded to the latest BBM version couple of weeks ago. For several weeks now some members of various groups cannot see my posts while some can. We are all on different models/service providers and till last month BBM'd without any problem!!!
I've tried battery pulls, leaving and joining a group, starting a new group and re-inviting.....all no help!!!! Funnily one-to-one chats with these same people is no problem at all!!

I have manully created a button and it displays at runtime .... then I deleted the table which I created before, and I again re-created this same table ( set the properties as I did before ) and run the application, and this time it shows the table at runtime, dont know what was the problem ....
But the last column of the first table is still not visible....

Public method not visible

I'm new to Java and am having trouble with a "method not visible" error when trying to use a package by another person (which works in its own context.) As far as I can tell all the relevant classes and methods should be public and accessible.
Here is the basic form of the code I'm trying to make use of:

Based on what you've posted, the only thing I can think of is that you've got an older version of Zag in which start() was not public. Might be a classpath issue, might just be that you didn't recompile Zag.

Public parts not visible across SCs

Hello,
in one product we have two software components: one for COMMON functionality and another for our SERVICE. In the COMMON SC we defined our exception classes and made them available as public parts. All steps until approval have been made and the new version of COMMON was imported for development for the SERVICE SC.
Unfortunately, we are not able to reference the public part for the exception classes in the SC "SERVICE". Any idea why the public parts are not visible accross the software components?

I had similar problem and its fixed now. What you need to do is..
If you are adding an SC from Track A to Track B, then
1. Choose track B in CMS
2. Click on ¡§Landscape Configurator¡¨
3. Add the SC of track A into ¡§Required Software Components¡¨
4. In Track Data tab, select the SC in ¡§Software Components for Development¡¨ area.
5. Click ¡§View/Edit XML content..¡¨
6. Add the 2 lines in between ***
