Groupwise 8 Messaging Difficulty

Groupwise has been working fine on my PC. Now, it is not letting me send a message. When I select reply, it creates a small box for me to type. Once I select send, it reads that I must select a recipient. Is there a setting that I must adjust?

It would be helpful to know exactly which version of the client you are
using as well as which version of which operating system that you are
using.
Has anything else changed recently that you noticed?
How much RAM and free disk space do you have? (Perhaps you are running
low now)
Can you at least still select a recipient?
Can you address new messages?
Steps I'd run to fix or at least diagnose further
- clean out temp files, and if not on SSD run a defragment on the drive.

- run a GWcheck on your mailbox, though we'll need to know a bit more of
where that is in your case (on a GroupWise server, or on your local PC as
a pop3 client)
- perhaps update the GW client (but not to a newer major version than any
server you are connecting to)

I do not have a MobileMe account. Yet, when trying to upload photos from iPhoto to FaceBook I get repeated messages, "Difficulty connecting to MobileMe." This is after the rainbow wheel spins for a while. Sometimes I have to force quit iPhoto because iPhoto locks up. This also happens on occasion while I'm working in iPhoto, such as moving between albums or editing features. I use iPhoto '11 with latest updates. How can I resolve this issue?

Hey,
If you've resolved the issue by turning off syncing then no further troubleshooting is needed. Having syncing turned off will prevent you from syncing an iOS device over USB with calendars / contacts. The only time iPhoto talks to MobileMe is if you have a MobileMe account added (as far as I am aware).
If you wish to troubleshoot further:
I checked out my User>Library>Caches and >Preferences. Neither had a >com.apple.iphoto file.
These must exist otherwise iPhoto would not be working at all as they are required for it to launch. Lets try another route to get to the same location.
Click on the Finder icon in the dock (smiley face)
Go to "Go" > "Home" at the top of the computer screen
Double-click "Library"
Double-click "Caches"
Go to "View" > "As List" at the top of the computer screen
-- This list should now be alphabetical...if not click on the column called "Name" to alphabatize
-- Locate a blue folder called "com.apple.iphoto" and remove to the trash
Click on the Finder icon in the dock (smiley face)
Go to "Go" > "Home" at the top of the computer screen
Double-click "Library"
Double-click "Preferences"
Go to "View" > "As List" at the top of the computer screen
-- This list should now be alphabetical...if not click on the column called "Name" to alphabatize

- Restart the computer
If the issue persists I would try with a new iPhoto Library. Hold down option and launch iPhoto and create a new library. Add a picture or two and then test.

Mail: drag message difficulty

In Lion Mail, when dragging messages, there are two functionalities:
Drag vertically, and you make a multiple-message selection.
Drag horizontally, and the message moves.Click and hold, and the message becomes movable no matter which direction you start to drag.
I find this difficult to use and I constantly get the wrong behavior. When dragging, I always want to move in this case; if I want to select, I'll use the shift key. This behaviour holds me back when doing rapid sorting of emails, and I have to stop and persuade each one to do what I want.
The question is this: is there a terminal command that would allow me to change the click and hold delay to zero so the message would be in move mode right away?

You're right -- I did mention that dragging horizontally moves the message.
What I'm getting at is that if I have a folder that is a bit further down the list and I try to drag there, it doesn't work. I have developed the habit of flicking the cursor right to "loosen" the message from its mount, then going directly to where I want. But that is kind of a silly thing to have to do. So is having to drag left and then down, when just diagonal would work.
For comparison, look at how nested menubars work. Open a menu and go down to an item that has a popout submenu. You can just jump straight to the item in the submenu, even if you cross the empty space or another item in the top menu. You don't have to tiptoe sideways and then down. It's little stuff that adds up to an easier and faster experience.
In Finder, you drag the empty space to select, or drag the text to move. I like that way pretty well. Mail should do this.
But, oh well, it doesn't. I'm not trying to complain about it. I already have an idea for a solution, but I need to figure out how to access the right setting via terminal, if it is possible. Any tips?

Text messaging difficulty 6760s-1

I can receive text messages but can't send them on my Nokia 6760s-1. Any ideas why not?

Is this a new phone? If it is, you should contact your network for the message centre number and they will be able to assist you in setting it up on your phone.

C3PO - Scanning a Folder & Detecting user's "drag-and-drop" operations

We are using Novell C3PO to export messages in XML format when the user
press a button at the GroupWise Client message window, and this was done to
provide an integration with a ERP software (from a very famous company here
in Brazil), so the user reads his emails and can click this button and open
the ERP ORDER SCREEN with all costumer's data filled in, that increases the
productivity of the Sales Departament.
REsuming, the main porpouse is to collect information of each email to open
the Order Screen of the ERP system, without having to type everything again.
The costumer wanted to go on and get several messages at the same time, that
was stored on a GroupWise Folder, using a simple redirection rule and this
was done using Visual Basic (called here "looking process"), that looks for
messages into a specific folder in the GroupWise Client called "_Send". So,
convert that messages to XML and then move to another folder called
"_History".
Now we can drag many messages at the same time to the folder _Send and then
they will be converted. It is working very well. The problem is that the
GroupWise Client computers are becoming slower because of the "looking
process" (that VB application). We used VB because we could not find a
process or a feature in C3PO that selects several messages at the same time
and read them one-by-one.
QUESTIONS :
1- Can I have this "Looking Process" using C3PO tools ?
2- Is there a way to detect a "Drag-and-Drop" event in the GroupWise Client
with C3PO, so I would not need to scan those folders ?

I've been doing something similar, but rather than creating a new
message, I've been using custom properties
on each mail, so as they arrive I add two tags, one with a tagID, and
the other with metadata. I then write
searches for each folder returning only the message that are yet to be
tagged. Nice and efficient, written
in C#. I've run over my big mailbox (2GB) and the box hardly raises a sweat.

I am having difficulty in updating my iphone 3GS software from version 4.1 to version 5.1. I tried using my phone but cannot find the update software button even when I have gone through the right process by tapping SETTING, then GENERAL, yet could not find Update Software button. I mean the update Software button is not seen there.
I tried using itunes, yet no way. Each time I connect my iphone to my laptop itunes software comes up automatically and alerts me that a newer version of software for my iphone is available, It usually gives me the option of Download & Install or Download Only. Whichever of the option I click a message will always appear telling me that the iphone update server could not be contacted, then asking me to make sure that my network settings are correct and active or try again latter. Sometimes, when click on the Update button on my itune software. It will display an error has occured.
I have even tried to Restore iphone from itunes, yet the problem keep repeating itself.
Can anyone help me?

I saw your message. Below are the problems:
Whenever I connect my iphone 3GS to my PC through a USB. My itunes software comes up automatically.
1. After that a message appears from the itunes that states that 'itunes could not connect to the itunes store, an unknown error cccured (306).
2. After the above, an alert message comes up which states that A new iphone software version 5.1 is availlable for my iphone. It then states would you like to download it and update your iphone now? With the options buttons as Cancel or Download and Update or Download Only. Whenever I clicked on Download and Update or Download Only, the next message that comes up is that The iphone Software Update Server Could not be Contacted and suggest make sure your network setting are correct and active or try again later.

Perhaps let's first try updating your Apple Software Update.
Launch Apple Software Update ("Start > All Programs > Apple Software Update"). Does it launch and offer you a newer version of Apple Software Update? If so, choose to install just that update to Apple Software Update. (Deselect any other software offered at the same time.)
If the ASU update goes through okay, try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the errors this time?

Difficulty in a Oracle SOA web-service with 2 message parts

I am developing a web-service which should take 2 inputs - a string and a datetime. Also I have an xsd which I am importing into the wsdl to define the message elements.
I have 2 options to do this:
Option-1: Bundle these 2 input parameters into a single complex type in the xsd and then expose this complex-type as a single message part in the input message element. The wsdl operation tag then looks something like this:

Option-2: Put these both these simple-types (the string & datetime inputs) in separate message parts. So wsdl operation looks like:

I need 2 wsdl interfaces with one with option-1 & other with option-2
The web-service works fine in option-1. But for strange reason does not work correctly for option-2.
In option-2 the 1^st^ difficulty was that after I coded the wsdl in jdeveloper and did not attach an explicit binding to it, the message-part part2 does not show-up at all in the enterprise manager when I go to the web-service test page. When opened the WSDL URL in the browser it indicated that the SOAP sytle/encoding as Document/literal. Perhaps that's what it dafults to when no explicit binding is specified. I got around this problem by explicitly specifying a RPC/literal binding in the WSDL in jdeveloper. This then showed-up the 2 parts distinctly in the EM test console.
The 2^nd^ problem (which the main problem now) was that the web-service now started failing complaining about xsl transformation in the mediator
+ORAMED-01201:[Error in transform operation]Error occurred while transforming payload using "{0}" for target part "{1}".Possible Fix:Review the XSL or source payload. Either the XSL defined does not match with the payload or payload is invalid.+
Strangely I have correctly mapped the input & output parameters and the xsl is very simple having the 2 input parameters on the left being mapped to 2 corresponding parameters for the SQL where clause.
And when I went to the EM dashboard to inspect the failure, the input payload did not show any input being passed to the xsl transform in the mediator. This is how the input looks

I am unable to find these properties in BizTalk wcf_custom adaptor properties. It will be great help if you could guide me in right direction . My problem is to receive response message into orchestration which is not having header. But the response is coming

In fact, it is listed in the devices profile file. The problem I see is the steps to production of an APP.
Made as follows:
My friend created the folios in InDesign (with your login) on another machine. Provided in a shared folder.
I already have the contents of the application. From here, I believe he should publish through the Folio Producer and then I create the Application Builder IOs in DPS app in Title citing the Login ID he used to publish the content.
Hence, I believe that would only make the Download Device and see install APP.
Is this the correct sequence?

Chinese characters in GroupWise message on smart phone

Just ran into an odd one. User received an email from outside our
company. It shows up fine in his GroupWise client, but when he views
it on his smart phone (synced via GMS) the message body is all Chinese
characters. He forwarded the email to me from his GW client and from
his phone. The one from his client looks fine, but the one from his
smart phone has the Chinese characters in the email. This isn't
happening with all his email. He thinks it has only happened twice
and from the same sender. But he has received many emails from that
same sender without any problems. Any thoughts?

work for that has theirs set to US-ASCII.

For the last severl weeks I have had difficulty launching sites from within my email messages. Thinking that I may have gone into "Settings" and set something wrong, I decided to reset to the default settings. So, in "Settings" I chose reset everything. Now, when I turn my iPad on all I get is a black screen with the picture of a white apple and a white line below it. Nothing else works. What can I do? Do I need to send this back to Apple to be restored?

You will hopefully be able to restore it yourself. It sounds like you erased all constant and settings rather than resetting all settings. But I'm basing my theory on the fact that you are seeing the Apple logo with the white progress bar (the white line) on the screen. That's what you would see if the software was being reinstalled and then it stopped on you. If that is what happened, you need to restore again and most likely need to use recovery mode.

However ...... If you are seeing the white line when you turn the iPad, let it go for twenty minutes or so, before you try restoring again. There is possibility that the software is still be installed and it can take a while before you see that white line move at all indicating that progress is being made.
Frankly, I don't think that the software is still being installed, but since you didn't say specifically how long the iPad has been like this, it could just be that the software hasn't finished installing yet. If you know better - meaning that it's been like this for hours or longer, then you do need to restore the device.

Messages sent from GroupWise client appear in sender Mailbox

When using GroupWise object API to enumerate messages in the Mailbox folder, I found that messages that appear in the Sent Items folder are also returned in the Messages collection of the Mailbox folder. Although, when using GroupWise client UI, they cannot be seen in Mailbox folder.
I tried properties like Hidden to see if the messages are hidden, but this flag is false for those messages. I also tried to use the EnclosingFolders collection which returns the folder messages are contained in, but that too returns Mailbox. The messages that can be seen in Sent Items from the GroupWise client UI also have the EnclosingFolders property set to "Mailbox".
How do we correctly filter out messages to replicate the view that we get in GroupWise client UI?
Some more information, I have enabled Retention on this particular mailbox, if that makes any difference.
This is my first encounter with GroupWise servers and these behaviors don't make sense to me. If anyone can shed some light into these areas I would be grateful to them.

BB Q10 empty message through Groupwise Mobility Service

Hello forum members!
We have an issue with an smartphone BlackBerry Q10 (OS version 10.1.0.4181) using Groupwise Mobility Service version 2.0.1 revision 53, installed on Suse Linux Enterprise Server 11 patchlevel 3.
When the user replies to an external e-mail, the recipient gets an e-mail with the message body empty.
This does not happen when replying to internal users. In that case the text message arrives without problem.
Any help will by appreciated.

It's a Yahoo problem that's being worked on. No idea when they'll fix it. Yahoo has had lots of problems with their email, contacts and calendar platform lately.
