Halt causes jerk movement

Using PCI-7344 and MID-7604 and FLEXMOTION.
3-Axis control, stepper motors, closed loop with optical linear encoders.
1) When I am stationary and command a Halt, there is a resulting jerk movement, sometimes up to a few 1000 servo steps. Why?
2) The MAX PID Tune does not work at all. Is there a way to use the LabView PID VIs, including the Auto-Tune VI to tune the PID parameters? Do you have an example or documentation on how to do this?
3) I am having trouble with getting the move complete to complete. I realize one factor is the PID parameters. I have attempted to tune them manually with the Capture and Read Trajectory data (this is a very cool tool) but so far am not very successful at finding the correct PID parameters. Can I get more documentation on what factors are included in the move complete.
4) The pull-in moves at the end of the move do not appear to be limited by the commanded velocity and acceleration. Using the high rate data, I am often seeing velocities 4-5X the defined velocities, which then would throw-off the PID controller. Is this a design flaw? Why is this? The pull-in moves are usually completely un-successful at correcting the endpoint.
5) I am using a 3-D contour move to perform a curve. To define the geometery of the move, I need about 170 points. I would like the speed of this move to be approx 6000 steps/second. Due to the definition of the speed of a contour move to be dependant on the following parameters:
1) Distance between points
2) Time delay between points, limited to intervals
of PID rate which can be btwn 10-45 msec for the
fastest PID rate, or btwn 10-90 msec for slowest
This requies me to have a contour defined as 3500 points. This is a big drain on the system due to this restriction.
1) Why is this restriction here? Is there an work around?
2) When you change the PID update rate, what does that effect? High speed capture rate? All card processing?
3) There does not appear to be a way in LabView to change the PID rate? Am I missing it?

  • Resizing MPEG Movies Causes Jerk On Mac

    Hi,
Interesting issue I'm having. If I link to an MPEG movie,
instaniate it on stage, and then resize the sprite to make the
movie appear smaller then it "jerks/moves" very slightly upon
starting when run on any Mac. It works fine on the PC.
I thought it might have been a floating point error due to
the location being a decimal like 105.5 or something but it's not.
I know this is rather obscure but I'd really appreciate any
feedback if anyone has experienced something similar.
    Cheers!

I had a problem that sounded like that once... was flickering
on the mac but fine on the PC... turned out it was because I had a
large animated background looping behind the MPEG file.

  • Slowing speed causing jerks during Playback in premiere pro 1.5. Can anyone give advice to solve?

    Hello.
I am from Pakistan and we use PAL.
I am using adobe premiere pro 1.5 at my P.C. No capturing card has been installed on my computer. When I strech any video clip or slow its speed, after render, it produces little bit jerks and flickers during playback. Even it shows same problem after export project. Can anyone tell me the solution. Another thing I want to share, I have installed Matrox RTX card at my office. I have not seen any jerk there during slow motion. (Sorry for using inappropriate english)

    Welcome to the forum.
Unfortunately, you have posted to the CS5 sub-forum, and should post to the CS4 and Earlier Forum. I am sure that one of our MOD's will move this for you, especially as you were kind enough to put the version number in the title - thank you for that.
Now, can you give us the full specs. of your Video files. The more detail, the better. There is likely some aspect of those Source Files, that is causing an issue.
Good luck, and if this post "disappears," then it has been moved for you. See the link above to the CS4 and Earlier forum.

  • Pro Tools files imported to FCP X causing QuickTime movie problem

Well 2 days later and hours on the phone with Apple tech support Senior Advisors, and problem still not solved. HELP.
Everything works fine in FCP X, but when I create the QuickTime movie, it is way out of sync (by many seconds).
We have isolated the problem to audio files that I am exporting to Pro Tools, processing, and then importing back into FCP X. I can create a QuickTime movie with the original video/audio and it is fine.
    Information
The original video came from Canon HF M40 camcorder: AVCHD (using MPEG4-AVC / H.264 compression codec), MTS format. Audio is 48kHz, 24 bits.
I used ClipWrap to rewrap the video into ProRes 422 and decompress the audio and save as LPCM.
I simply provide this FYI. As I said earlier, the original video works fine and the resulting QuickTime movie works fine. So the original  files imported into the FCP project are not the problem.
The creation of the problem audio occurs as follows:
    - Detach the original audio from the original video, and export
    - Import this audio into a 48.0 kHz/16-bit Pro Tools HD session and EQ/limit the audio
    - Import the resulting audio into FCP X (exact same length file, audio waveforms aligned with the original audio).
This audio works fine in FCP. It is in sync with the video, everything looks great.
I ran Pro Tools at 16-bits because a senior advisor told me FCP runs at 16-bits but does not convert imported stand-alone audio (as opposed to combined video/audio) to 16-bits; thus the Pro Tools session had to be at 16-bits. I changed from 24-bits to 16-bits, and this didn't solve the problem. (FYI, when Pro Tools imports the original audio exported from FCP, it says the audio is 24-bits, not 16-bits).
    What is the problem?
The basic question is why does this audio cause QuickTime a problem?
Something is going on in the conversion to the QT movie. In FCP X, I don't have a way to play with the conversion variables except to set "Video and Audio" and "Use current settings" (which is ProRes 422).
The only difference I see between the original audio and the Pro Tools audio is that the original audio is stereo and Pro Tools works with dual mono files (L & R). The mono files work fine in FCP and I can't imagine why QT would have a problem with these, but I haven't tried converting the files to stereo before importing into FCP.
I should also mention that I selected the stabilization and roll correction algorithms in FCP. I assume these don't create problems in QT. I mention this because I didn't use them when I tested making a QT movie with the original video/audio files.
FCP and Pro Tools are used together all the time to do exactly what I am doing......improve the sound of the original audio. They are the premier video and audio professional programs. Of course, the final product is often not a QuickTime movie, but many times it is a QT movie.
What the heck is going on???
    HELP.

    (1) It is immediately out of sync. It even appears to be speeded up to me initially, but this is subjective. But it is clearly out of sync throughout, not a gradual drift.
    (2) When I create the audio files in the Pro Tools session, the files are automatically stored in the audio folder of the  Pro Tools session. So I don't actually have to go through an export process. I just close the Pro Tools session, then open FCP X and import the audio from the Pro Tools folder.
I'm not sure what additional specifications you seek, other than:
    - wav files
    - sample rate = 48 kHz
    - Bit rate = 16-bits (and earlier I used 24-bits)
    - Files are dual mono, rather than stereo (name_01.L.wav, name_01.R.wav). As I mentioned above, I have not yet tried converting these to stereo before importing into FCP, to see if dual mono causes an issue with QT. It does not cause a problem in FCP. I will try this today if we don't solve the problem.
    (3) I can upload a portion of the audio to a server and send you a link to the file so you can download it. Is there a way to private message on the forum so I can get an email address to send you the link?
    (4) The original video came from Canon HF M40 camcorder: AVCHD (using MPEG4-AVC / H.264 compression codec), MTS format. Audio is 48 kHz, 24 bits.
I used ClipWrap to rewrap the video into ProRes 422 and decompress the audio and save as LPCM.
The FCP Project was set up at:
    - Starting time code - 01.00.00.00
    - Format - 1080p
    - Resolution - 1920 x 1080
    - Frame rate - 29.97p
    - Audio channels - stereo
    - Sample rate - 48 kHz
    - Rendering format - Apple ProRes 422

  • Just installed latest Itunes, and system now grinds to a halt, caused by apsdaemon.exe and apple mobile using 99% processing. Have stopped these processes, but each time I start Itunes I have to do it all over again, any help would be appreciated

Having just installed the latest iTunes update, I find my system grinds to a complete standstill. I've checked and found two apple processes, apsdaemon.exe and applemobiledeviceservice.exe use 90% plus of my processor, so have stopped these. However, each time I start iTunes the same situation occurs. Is there anyway I can remove these exes from my system or is apple aware of this stupid update and what are they doing about it. Any guidance would be very much appreciated

What version of itunes were you using before you updates?
Have you checked other related post?
iTtune will require applemobiledeviceservices.exe and others to run.  What you are experencing is usually caused by a conflict with other software on you system.  Everybodys system is set up differently, so there is not a "one fix all".  Most commonly associated with Firefox addons, video accelerator software, podcasts on the backup, anivirus software, parential control software, take you pick!
    I found my fix here.

  • Keyframing still photos causes jerky movement during transition

I am trying to pan over a few of my still photos in my movie by using the keyframe function, and in the playback the movement appears jerky during the cross-dissolve transition.  Can anyone suggest a good way to fix this?  I am using FCE 4.0.1.
    Thank you!

I apologize, I just realized I found the answer to my question - I have pasted the answer from another post below for those that might be reading this:
This is because by adding the cross dissolve, you are having FCE show portions of the clip that precede and follow where your keyframes are. So the dissolve starts, the clip is just sitting there, then begins motions when the keyframe starts . . . etc.
You need to double click on a clip on the timeline, so that it opens in the viewer, then click on the Motion tab and move your starting keyframes for the clip before and after start and end of the transitions on the timeline.

  • IDSM with inline pairs causing mac move

    Hello,
I´ve just added the IDSM-2 blades on a 6500 and configured it but it did not work as I planned.
This picture is a little scale what I tried to do, actually I had more vlans on the inspection.
I have 2 cores and a portchannel trunk in between them and for redundancy I´m using HSRP as the config shows.
After I congfigured I´ve got these msgs and I could not figure out how to stop it:
    Core1
%MAC_MOVE-SP-4-NOTIF: Host 001a.a2e4.e800 in vlan 6 is flapping between port Gi6/d1 and port Po1
%MAC_MOVE-SP-4-NOTIF: Host 001a.a2e4.e800 in vlan 7 is flapping between port Gi6/d1 and port Po1
    MAC 001a.a2e4.e800 is from Core2
    Core2
%MAC_MOVE-SP-4-NOTIF: Host 0022.557b.c340 in vlan 6 is flapping between port  and port Po1
%MAC_MOVE-SP-4-NOTIF: Host 0022.557b.c340 in vlan 7 is flapping between port Po1 and port
    Mac 0022.557b.c340 is from Core1
There was only one VLAN pair that did not have this problem, which was the VLAN L2 for the ISP router and the VLAN Outside for the FWSM . It also was the only VLAN that did not have HSRP working, I dont know if it has something to do.
The Core 1 is the STP Root with priority of Zero and the Core 2 is the Backup Root with priority 4096
    Any guesses ?

I see this log message frequently when using a switch to feed an IPS sensor if the same Ethernet frame is entering the same VLAN on two different interfaces. I can;t tell how your traffic is flowing but I think you have the same issue.
In my case it was not anything to worry about so I just ignored the messages.

  • Three dimensional array causing repeating pause in movie

I'm creating what is essentially a 3 dimensional array. It's
an array of objects, and each of those objects (a map) contains a
few properties, one of which is a two dimensional array of tile
objects. The strange thing is that the act of pusing each of these
map objects on the array causes my movie to run with a periodic
(about once a second) pause. The more map objects are pushed onto
the array, the longer the pause. In between the pause, the movie
runs at what seems like normal speed.
Does this sound normal? I can see the movie slowing down
while building the 3 dimensional array, but once the array is built
(and i've verified that it builds corrently- no endless loops or
anything), even if I do absolutely NOTHING wtih it I still get the
pause for as long as my movie runs...
that's the part that really seems strange to me- the
repeating pause is directly related to my pushing of the map
objects onto an array... Even if I build all the map objects and
don't push them onto an array, the movie plays fine...
Any ideas or help would be appreciated. For anyone who is
interested, the associated actionscript is attached. Thanks!

anyone? I don't need a direct solution... if anything the
biggest problem I'd like to understand is that if all my objects
are already created (i.e. already stored in memory), and my array
is already created- how can simply pushing the objects onto the
array cause a recurring pause/performance hit- even if I don't use
the objects (including the array) at all (? All the memory is
allocated already- all i'm doing is pushing a reference to the
object onto the array, right? If anything I would think there could
be a performance hit WHILE pushing objects onto the array, but what
the heck is creating the pause/performance issue the rest of the
    time?
I would really appreciate any help, I don't know any flash
experts in person, and I've been racking my brain on this
    one!

  • Mouse movement in Tablet mode on Twist

I got a new Twist a couple of days ago and am loving it so far, but I have found an odd problem that I was wondering if anyone else has seen. When in tablet mode, the mouse pointer will come up and start moving around the screen. I think it may be one of two things. 1. The ghost of my former laptop is haunting the Twist or 2. The keyboard/mouse is not disabled in tablet mode and the back of my screen is causing the movement when I am using it in tablet mode. Is there a setting to disable the keyboard/mouse intablet mode or am I the only one having this problem. Thanks for any advice you can give.

  • Photos/graphics insert over text, will not float or move

I'm trying to compose a document in Pages '09. If I use the Insert>Choose command to add either a graphic or a photo, the item is inserted over existing text. Under WRAP, all options are greyed out (Inline, Floating, Background) and Object Causes Wrap moves the graphic out of sight.  Is there a fix? Must the photo or graphic be a .tiff or .jpeg only?  It seems to me that Pages did not used to be so strict and fixed - although sometimes I have had to go to Keynote to prepare something. I thought Pages was a page layout program!

  • Changing the size of a single movie as it plays

I don't know if this is new in Flash CS3 or not, but I just
started noticing it - web pages that are flash from top to bottom.
No matter where you right-click the pop-up menu tells you it is
Flash. And the whole thing resizes along with the browser's window.
How does one do this? And then to baffle my mind even further,
there is a site where the movie changes size - causing the browser
scrollbar to increase or decrease. I thought that you had to define
the movie's size and that was what it was going to be from
beginning to end. So if you click on a button, the text may be
twice as long - going off the bottom of the page.
I have nothing at all to do with this site, I think it was
presented in Adobe's Flash newsletter. But notice - it's all
Flash!! and if you click on a side button the browser scrollbar
    changes (the movie changes size).
    http://www.jamesmartinchef.co.uk/pc.asp?xpath=&xpathid=&lang=eng
Someone please give me a clue as to how to do this!

This can't be that difficult. Someone must know how to do
    this. Please help!!
I just can't figure out how a movie would fit in a browser
window and another page in the same movie causes the browser window
to get larger because the that page causes the movie's height to
    increase.

  • Help! .MOV movie no longer appears when view website (but it's on my iweb)

Back in 2007 I created a .mov file which I published via my iwebsite. And has been visable by pulling up my webpage on the internet. (I am a tiger user and still using ilife06.) However, recently I modified that webpage and republished it.
But now, when you pull up my website, you cannot see the .mov file, however, it's definitely still on my iwebsite. I was even at the MAC store yesterday for a one on one training session, and my seasoned trainer had never seen this before.
I even created a new webpage and reposted that .mov file and re-published, and the movie still cannot be seen when pulling up my webpage thru the internet.. BUT, you can still see it as plain day when I go into my iweb icon on my computer.
Question: I used a song from one of my CDS that was in my itunes libary as backdrop music for this .mov. The CD was one I purchased via a retail outlet a few years ago and not bought thru itunes... There isn't any issue with that, that could be causing this movie file to not post? food for thought?
The only reason I mention this, was that I had created another .movie using another song from one of my retail purchased CDS and had tried to post it up on youtube, but Youtube dissallowed because of infringement.

I suppose it's possible you're encountering the same restriction on your iWeb site that you had on YouTube — perhaps your web hosting service has recently increased its vigilance of copyright infringement. If that isn't the reason, it would still be worth reading the following article. Although it focuses upon podcasting, the same principles apply however you re-distribute music over the web without permission:

  • Erratic mouse movement

When using my USB IR mouse or a magic mouse the cursor suddenly jumps about the screen often to a "Hot corner" which turns the display off. I do not recall that this occurred before I loaded Bootcamp and Windows XP Pro.
    Any help out there?

I've seen this happen for two reasons.
1.) My imac is about to overheat and crash. The pointer seems to jump around the edges of the screen and on rare occasion reservse themselves. UP=DOWN LEFT=RIGHT..etc.
2.) The mouse picked up a hair and the IR light is bouncing off of it and causing erratic movement. (More often the case)
Hopefully 2, but be mindful of 1. I would be curious if you have iStat and notice any difference in operating temperature during these times.

  • Problem with a DVD movie

    Hey,
I have a DVD movie that when I enter it to my iMac it doesn't mount, makes the regular fan/processor noise continuously, then after a couple of minutes the finder gets stuck and I can't eject it. I never experienced this with any other dvd.
And the movie is "Naqoyqatsi" (If someone else experienced this problem with it)

Well, I have discovered from doing a lot of burning that if you don't run 3 programs to eliminate the cache files and the build up of files that your computer stores, this seems to cause DVD Movies not to mount normal.
