Handle Query when he doesn't return value
hello,
I have this code in a WBP
begin
go_block('xxx');
execute_query;
end;
and in my 'xxx' block i have a pre-query that makes a set_block_property('xxx',defaut_where,value);
but when my query doesnt find any record he still continues to run untill he returns me somes wrong records. how i know? I checked in backend with the condition values and there are no records for these condition values. so i think it's may be because i didn't handle my query for when he doesn't find records that match with the condition.
if some cn tell me what to do and where to do it to resolve this problem, it will be nice to him.
thanks
Charly

Hello,
Sorry to ask you that, but i tried to retrieve the last query in the system variable, but i can't. first i create an item and create a WMC trigger and i put this code in it:
DECLARE
tempv VARCHAR2(500);
BEGIN
tempv:=:SYSTEM.LAST_QUERY;
:GPV_OBJECTIF.TEXT_ITEM326:=temp;
END;
i received an error that there is an exception that not handle. when i click on this item nothing happened.
may be i placed the code in the wrong trigger.
also i checked my query carefully, it seems everything is all rigth.
CharlyMouse triggers are intentionally ignored in WebForms, they will not fire.
you need to use some other trigger or a button or a message. What is the error you got?? you probably need to use a variable greater than VARCHAR2(500), try using VARCHAR2(4000) just to be on the safe side.

Click on a cell in formula doesn't return value, only text. why?
When doing a simple formula like =c4-c5 in one of my sheets, when i click on the cell, it doesn't return the value, only text.
What setting do i have enabled/disabled?
thanks
hamdogHI Hamdog,
What you are seeing is the formula that is in that cell.
The setting you have turned on is the first one in the bottom section of the General page of Numbers Preferences. In the English versions, it looks like this:
With the checkbox unchecked (as mine is), the formula would read:
=L10-P10
Column L is labeled "Tips", Column P is labeled "Lenka", Row 10 is labeled "9. 2. 2013"
To Copy and Paste the result, 462, click (once) on the cell and Copy, then click (once) on the cell where you want to paste the result and go Edit > Paste Values. This should be the seventh item (not including the separator line) in the Edit menu.

[BUG] LOV inside AF:table doesn't return value
Hi,
I am using JDEV TP4.
I have a LOV inside a af:table.
<af:column sortProperty="LaoId" filterable="true"
sortable="true"
headerText="#{bindings.Packstuecke0012.hints.LaoId.label}"
id="collaoid"
partialTriggers="collagercode">
<af:inputListOfValues id="laoIdId"
popupTitle="Search and Select: #{bindings.Packstuecke0012.hints.LaoId.label}"
value="#{row.bindings.LaoId.inputValue}"
model="#{row.bindings.LaoId.listOfValuesModel}"
required="#{bindings.Packstuecke0012.hints.LaoId.mandatory}"
columns="#{bindings.Packstuecke0012.hints.LaoId.displayWidth}"
shortDesc="#{bindings.Packstuecke0012.hints.LaoId.tooltip}"
partialTriggers="lagerCodeId">
<af:convertNumber groupingUsed="false"
pattern="#{bindings.Packstuecke0012.hints.LaoId.format}"/>
</af:inputListOfValues>
</af:column>
After selecting a value in the LOV and leave the LOV the id in the corresponding column field doesn't change.
Same LOV outside of table works fine.
Any suggestions?
regards
PeterHi,
Ok, I try to explain the problem more detailed:
1) I have a model driven LOV (af:inputListOfValues) within a af:table column
2) LOV is based on view and shows the id "LagerCode"
3) Navigate to view object in the model select "Attributes" on the left side and double-click on the attribute "LagerCode"
4) This opens the dialog "edit Attribute: LagerCode"
5) navigate to register "UI-Hints"
6) And here is the important step: UNSELECT the checkbox "Query List Automatically".
7) Run the application and open the LOV --> The LOV list is empty (because of step 6)
8) Execute "search" in the LOV and select any value
9) PROBLEM: No value is returned to af:inputListOfValues
If I do the same steps with a LOV outside of af:table everything is OK.
If I do NOT UNCHECK the checkbox "Query List Automatically" in step 6 than the LOV list is queried as soon as the LOV dialob opens. In this case the selected value from the LOV list will be returned to af:inputListOfValues.
I hope you are able to follow my steps and you can reproduce the problem.

Messagechoice doesn't return value selected.(urgent)
Hi Experts,
I created an LOV field using personalization to a seeded page like in one of your tutorial with same VO name at Picklist View Instance and View Instance(xxxyycolumnVO). On the page when the submit is clicked i have get all the values selected and inputs, But here when I hit submit the LOV value will be the value when page opened and when it is changed it still gives the same value. here is the piece of code:
public void processRequest(OAPageContext OAPageContext, OAWebBean OAWebBean) {
super.processRequest(OAPageContext, OAWebBean);
OAApplicationModuleImpl am = (OAApplicationModuleImpl)OAPageContext.getApplicationModule(OAWebBean);
OAViewObject oav= (OAViewObject)am.findViewObject("xxxyycolumnVO") ;
System.out.println("\n i am here \n");
if ( oav != null )
System.out.println("XXXX Found VO DetailFuelTypesVO for Mileage AM. This means we have re-entered the page" );
else
System.out.println("XXXX CAN NOT FIND VO DetailFuelTypesVO for Mileage AM" );
oav = (OAViewObject)am.createViewObject("xxxyycolumnVO", "xxx.oracle.apps.ont.xxxx.server.yycolumnV") ;
OAPageLayoutBean oapagelayoutbean = OAPageContext.getPageLayoutBean();
if ( oav != null )
System.out.println("XXXX FINALLY FOUND VO DetailFuelTypesVO for Mileage AM" );
oav.setWhereClauseParams(null);
oav.executeQuery();
System.out.println("After Execute query");
public void processFormRequest(OAPageContext OAPageContext,
OAWebBean webBean) {
super.processFormRequest(OAPageContext, webBean);
if(OAPageContext.getParameter("GoControl")!=null){
OAApplicationModuleImpl am = (OAApplicationModuleImpl)OAPageContext.getApplicationModule(webBean);
OAViewObjectImpl vo = (OAViewObjectImpl) am.findViewObject("xxxyycolumnVO");
Row r =vo.getCurrentRow();
System.out.println("\n lookup_code : "+ r.getAttribute("LookupType").toString());}Sumit Sharma,
You are right, I have to put the base VO in the View instance, But this page no VO attached to it. When I see the code in actual controller it is taking data entered and sending to a procedure. Thats it.
The problem is I can't get hold of any type I create here messagestyleinput/messagechoice, I can't get hold of pagecontext.get...() in this page.
This is oracle seeded page in Order Information user> Order status>ONT Feedback page.
Has anyone customized this page or this kind of a page.
thanks

Procedure Doesn't return values
Hello,
I have a stored procedure which has varchar2 as IN and sys_recursor has OUT parameters.
CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE check_values (
my_values IN emp.dept_no%TYPE,
p_cursor OUT sys_refcursor
AS
quoteValues VARCHAR2 (256);
BEGIN
SELECT '''' || REPLACE(my_values, ',', ''',''') || ''''
INTO quoteValues
FROM DUAL;
OPEN p_cursor FOR
SELECT emp_no,
emp_name,
FROM emp
WHERE dept_no IN (quoteValues);
END check_values;
/The problem I am facing is in where condition, if I give quoteValues it doesn't fetch me any records when I execute the procedure from sqlplus, but if I am giving
my_values it does fetch me records. I am receiving IN parameters like 9856,9712,8723, so first I put single quote around the emp_no and pass that to where condition.
How can I resolve this issue?
Thanksuser20090209 wrote:
So why then it is not getting executed? if I hard code the above values in where condition it executes fine.Look at your WHERE clause:
WHERE dept_no IN (quoteValues);How many expressions there are in IN list? Right, only one. So no matter what the value of quoteValues is, that WHOLE value will be compared to dept_no. What you are trying to do can be done via dynamic SQL, LIKE operator or collection.
Dynamic SQL:
CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE check_values (
my_values IN emp.dept_no%TYPE,
p_cursor OUT sys_refcursor
AS
quoteValues VARCHAR2 (256);
BEGIN
OPEN p_cursor FOR
'SELECT emp_no,
emp_name,
FROM emp
WHERE dept_no IN (' || my_values || ')';
END check_values;
/ LIKE operator:
CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE check_values (
my_values IN emp.dept_no%TYPE,
p_cursor OUT sys_refcursor
AS
quoteValues VARCHAR2 (256);
BEGIN
OPEN p_cursor FOR
SELECT emp_no,
emp_name,
FROM emp
WHERE ',' || my_values || ',' LIKE '%,' || dept_no || ',%';
END check_values;
/ Collection:
CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE check_values (
my_values IN sys.OdciVarchar2List,
p_cursor OUT sys_refcursor
AS
quoteValues VARCHAR2 (256);
BEGIN
OPEN p_cursor FOR
SELECT emp_no,
emp_name,
FROM emp
WHERE dept_no IN (SELECT * FROM TABLE(my_values));
END check_values;
/ and pass my_values as sys.OdciVarchar2List('2345','1245','9076').

How to handle & or when part of an attribute value
In my xml file, i have &(ampersand) or > as part of the attribute value.As a result i get SAXParserExeption. Is there a way to handle this error other than writing & as & in the xml file.
<p>
Thanks.Dear DrClap,
Thanks for the solution, but i have been using it already. I would like some other alternative. Is there some kind of Handler to deal with such issues or do we write some code to handle it..If so, could someone please help me out with this..

Trigger to execute query when value from LOV is selected
HI Guys,
I have a form in which I have 2 fields in Master and 4 fields in detail, all showing on the same canvas.
I have put an 'execute_query' in when_new_form_instance trigger so that when I open the form it is pre - populated.
The Master fields draw values from LOVs. I want to execute the master block query when the user selects a value from LOV, so in which trigger should I put it.
I have tried in 'when_validate_item' and 'when_list_changed' triggers but it is showing an error.
So, what should I do?
Regards
RanjanI have designed a form in which there are two items in header level and two in line level. I have defined master - child relationship between the two blocks.
I have put a execute_query for header in when_new_form_instance trigger so that when user opens the form, all fields are initially populated.
Each Field has an LOV attached to it.
Form Outline :
Header : Ledger Name
Ledger_approver
Line : Approver
Amount
Initially all details for Ledger L1 is populated.
If the user now selects Ledger L2 from LOV, then when he moves out of that item, immediately all details about L2 should get populated in the fields.
I Have tried execute_query in when_validate_item of Ledger Name but I get error that we cannot use restricted procedure in when_validate_item trigger.
I hope this explains my issue.

Return Value of a Select List with Submit
I have a Select List with Submit (P8_COLOR) which I want to use to filter the data in my report.
P8_COLOR has 3 static values ALL, RGB, BYP that return ALL,RGB and BYP.
When the page is submitted, my SQL Query (PL SQL function body returning SQL Query) does not recognize the return value. I can assign the return value to a different textfield and can see the correct value being assigned.
My PL SQL looks like below...
IF :P8_COLOR = 'RGB' THEN
q := q || ' AND COLOR_ID in (1,2,3)
END IF;
I am not a PL SQL expert and wonder whether the IF condition is correct. Would appreciate any help with this.
Thanks,
GhaziThanks Jes. That worked.
Would you know why :P8_COLOR didn't work? What is the difference between using :P8_COLOR and v('P8_COLOR')? I am using :P8_XXXX for another Select List that only checks for null and that works. The one where I am checking for the return value doesn't work.
Thanks again.

Query with subquery should return value but doesn't
When I run this SQL, it returns no value:
SELECT vfn.cat
FROM vps_fishery_ner vfn, valid_fishery vf
WHERE vfn.plan = vf.plan
AND vfn.cat = vf.cat
AND vf.permit_year = 2010
AND vf.moratorium_fishery = 'T'
AND vfn.vp_num = 211652
AND vfn.ap_year = 2010
AND vfn.plan = 'MUL'
AND vfn.date_issued = (SELECT MAX(date_issued)
FROM vps_fishery_ner
WHERE vp_num = 211652
AND ap_year = 2010);
In order to test, I take out the subquery and run it separately:
SELECT MAX(date_issued)
FROM vps_fishery_ner
WHERE vp_num = 211652
AND ap_year = 2010;
Returns 02-APR-10
Then I paste this date into the original query (using the TRUNC function, of course, since I hardcode only the DDMMYY part of the date):
SELECT vfn.cat
FROM vps_fishery_ner vfn, valid_fishery vf
WHERE vfn.plan = vf.plan
AND vfn.cat = vf.cat
AND vf.permit_year = 2010
AND vf.moratorium_fishery = 'T'
AND vfn.vp_num = 211652
AND vfn.ap_year = 2010
AND vfn.plan = 'MUL'
AND TRUNC(date_issued) = TO_DATE('02-APR-10');
And this returns the required value, 'A'.
So why doesn't the full query with subquery work, if the value that is returned by the subquery is valid and works when you just paste it in?
Thanks.Hi,
Not sure about your question.
But you say when you uss 01-apr-10 you get the expected results.
So why dont you try using trunc on botht sides
SELECT vfn.cat
FROM vps_fishery_ner vfn, valid_fishery vf
WHERE vfn.plan = vf.plan
AND vfn.cat = vf.cat
AND vf.permit_year = 2010
AND vf.moratorium_fishery = 'T'
AND vfn.vp_num = 211652
AND vfn.ap_year = 2010
AND vfn.plan = 'MUL'
AND trunc(vfn.date_issued) = (SELECT MAX(trunc(date_issued))
FROM vps_fishery_ner
WHERE vp_num = 211652
AND ap_year = 2010);Rememeber if you are couting on some Index to be used you might want to recheck.
IN answer to your question why it does not return with subquery included, because the TIME PART is not the same.
You yourself proved it by using the supplying only the date part.

i have 3 panels in my application and parent panel is displayed first then i display other two panels which come to the front then on entering correct password i discard the child panel and then you can see parent panel , but there is an issue when i add menu to my parent panel i dont know whats wrong when i add menu bar in my user interface (parent panel) gives me error that this handle is not a panel handle(return value -42) for a child panel. when i dont open and display child panel then its fine , and even without menu added to my parent panel all my panels and my application works perfactly
Hello smartprogrammer,
some more informations are needed in order to properlu help you in this situation:
- Are you adding menus dynamically at runtime or in the UIR editor? If dynamically: how are you loading the menu bar?
- Are you dynamically tailoring the menu bar at runtime (adding or deleting menu items, dimming / undimming some of them or checking / unchecking)?
- Can you post the code where you are getting the error, documenting variables and scope (local to the function, global to the source file, global to the project)?
You can look at uirview.prj example that ships with CVI for an example of LoadMenuBar (the exampl eis in <CVI samples>\userint folder): in that project, the menu bar is shown as a context menu when you right-click on a tree element (see DeferredMenuCB callback). -

CQWP does not return result for a specific query when filtering on a managed metadata field.
Hi,
We are facing a serious production issue. We've search the web extensively but to no avail.
Problem:
CQWP does not return result for a specific query when filtering on a managed metadata field.
ULS log:
The Uls logs provides 3 different messages that I could relate to every time the query is executed. The last item(level Medium) is displayed 14 times. For readability I've moved the ULS logs to the bottom of this question.
Query:
The query is as follows:
(I've translated this from dutch so pardon any typo's)
Query: (top selection) Display items from all sites in the site collection
ListType: Documentlibrary
Contenttype:
Items from this group:Custom Document Contenttypes
Items from this content type: Verklaring
Filter: Soort is equal to X
extra info: the field soort (Type) is a managed metadata field that was assigned the value X
Managed Metadata Structure:
-managed metadata service
-Contoso
-Enterprise Taxonomy (term set)
-Document (term)
-Verklaring (term)
-Soort (term)
-x (term)
EXTRA INFO:
When I modify the filter to filter on Title the CQWP DOES return the correct document!
When I modify the query settings to search a specific library the CWQP also does return the correct document! (In this case I am filtering on a managed metadata field).
QUESTION:
Why doesn't the CQWP return the document when filtering on a managed metadata field over the entire site collection.
Why does the CQWP return the document when filtering on a managed metadata field over a single library.
(The type of information the CQWP should return (Soort:x) is stored in a dozen document libraries!)
Here are the ULS logs.

while digging through the logging (again) I found some extra logging regarding the same correlation id (see details below).

If somebody has a clue or tip that would greatly appreciated!

Sys_refcursor not fetching any data although query returns value
hi!!!
I am using sys_refcursor to return columns,and using below procedure to do so.Although data is there in table_1 and table_2.
PROCEDURE test_pro(abc_date N DATE,
cur_get_data OUT sys_refcursor
OPEN cur_get_data
for
select A.col1,B.col2
from table_1 A
where A.dis_date=abc_date
left outer join
table_2 B
on
A.dis_date=B.dis_date;
IF cur_get_data%rowcount=0
then
raise e_error;
END if;
EXCEPTION
when e_error
then
------no_data_found;
when others
then
--------(giving SQL error with error code);
END test_pro;
while running below sql in sql window of pl/sql developer fetching
data
select A.col1,B.col2
from table_1 A
where A.dis_date=abc_date
left outer join
table_2 B
on
A.dis_date=B.dis_date;
but while testing the test_pro in test window of pl/sql developer it is
not fetching any data and raising e_error each time
is there any problem arising using IF cur_get_data%rowcount=0 as each time it is going to exception block..
so can somebody please put some ideas what cud be the possible reason for this??Welcome to the forum!

A cursor doesn't fetch data - your code has to do that. The code you posted doesn't have any FETCH statements so no data will be fetched.
There is no problem using 'IF cur_get_data%rowcount=0' but it will always be 0 in your code because you are not fetching any data.
I'm guessing that you are trying to determine if there are any rows for the query. That isn't going to work since a cursor doesn't fetch rows.
You just have to return the cursor to the caller and the caller will have to perform at least one fetch to see if there are any rows.
If the above answers your question the just mark the question ANSWERED. Otherwise, since you have posted in the wrong forum
1. repost the question in the SQL and PL/SQL forum
2. Edit this post to add a link to the new thread in the other forum
3. Mark this question ANSWERED so people will follow up in the other forum.

SQL Query returns values like "---" and "NA"
Hi
When I execute a sql query in MII it returns values like "---" and "NA" for empty Char and numeric fields respectively.
I have checked the database and made sure that these fields does not have any value. This happens only when I run the query through MII. Can any one know how can we get rid of these values?
Thanks in advance
ShajiShaji,
MII sets those values as a default if it discovers null values in a query result. You can change this default behaviour in several ways.
First, have a look at the document [Setting custom null values in XML|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/70628af0-8ec4-2c10-7da2-f451e412dd8f?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true]. Then you may also use SQL functions like [NVL|http://www.techonthenet.com/oracle/functions/nvl.php] to change the value directly in the SQL query. You can also change the value inside the MII BLT to whatever you need.
