Handling Units via Idoc

Hi all,
Im trying to create Handling Units in a Shipment with Deliveries by use of idoc SHPMNT05
According to SAP docs I need to fill field EXIDV with $1, $2 etc.... in both segments E1EDT37 and E1EDT43 so that upon posting a HU Identifier number is created.
However, this is not working and Im getting the error that system cannot create HU $1
<E1EDT37 SEGMENT="1">
                <EXIDV>$14</EXIDV>
                <TARAG>13.600</TARAG>
                <GWEIT>KGM</GWEIT>
                <BRGEW>228.600</BRGEW>
                <NTGEW>213.600</NTGEW>
                <GWEIM>KGM</GWEIM>
                <BTVOL>13679746.600</BTVOL>
                <VHILM>not filled</VHILM>
                <E1EDT43 SEGMENT="1">
                    <VELIN>3</VELIN>
                    <EXIDV>$1</EXIDV>
                </E1EDT43>
                <E1EDT43 SEGMENT="1">
                    <VELIN>3</VELIN>
                    <EXIDV>$2</EXIDV>
                </E1EDT43>
Any ideas are most welcome.

Hi,
you need to make sure the customizing of handling units match the values you give in your IDoc.
Identifiers for handling units are determined during creation according to settings in Customizing for number assignment of the packaging material type for the packaging material that is being used. You can also assign default values for identifiers when you create handling units, although these values must correspond to the settings in Customizing.

  • Putaway of Handling units via Inbound delviery

    Hi,
I have configured HUM for my warehouse & am putting away my handling units via Inbound delivery.
The system currently generates a transfer order for each & every HU/ storage unit that is created.
But i would like to create one single transfer order for every storage type. In other words one transfer order will contain all the storage units that are to be put-away per storage type.
Is there a setting to make the above mentioned possible. Do let me know if more clarity on my question is reqd.
    Thanks

  • Batch split in inbound delivery according to Handling Units in Idoc

    Hi everyone,
the Idoc with different HU's segments E1EDL37 (all the same batch no.), causes different items in the inbound delivery. But we need only one item, because it's the same batch no.!
    Where can I customize this?
    Thx in advance!
    Thomas

    use BAPI: BAPI_OUTB_DELIVERY_CONFIRM_DEC
I used this long time back. it worked fine.

  • Automatic Packing Via IDOC

    Hi,
As we are creating an Inbound delivery via IDOC, is there any settings to be provided in DELVRY05 idoc to let SAP know that it needs to do automatic packing.
The issue here is when we create Inbound delivery manually, the packaging is done at different hierarchy level in the packaging screen.
Whereas via creating through IDOC, we are able to get it done only at hierarchy level 0.
You can check in EDI-PACK-TTL Content(Display HU screen)
Doesn't standard SAP handle this via IDOC function module.
    Regards
    Krish

    Hi Sam
You may want to investigate if you can use BAdi 'IDOC_CREATION_CHECK' to prevent the idocs from being created.
Just use method IDOC_DATA_CHECK and clear the CREATE_IDOC flag based on the IDoc Type.
    Cheers

  • Handling Unit posting GR via IDOC

    Hi,
I'm searching for an IDOC to post a goods receipt for a production order with Handling Units, like transaction COWBHUWE.
It seem that the MBGMCR will not work with Handling Unit data.
    Best regards to all

    Hi,
thank you for your help, but it is not and decentralized scenario, no "In- or Outbound Delivery Confirm Decentral" or "...Save Replicas...". It is a goods receipt for an integrated storage location.

  • Handling Unit - IDOC

    Hello Experts,
We receive ASN from Vendor via EDI and while processing IDOC, received an error "Assignment material group PM CASE to pack.mat.type EXTL not made in Customiz" This is in test system.
We processed same idoc in Production, processed successfully. Both the systems are in sync as far as configuration.
i.e : Define Allowed Packaging Materials, both systems having same entries.
Can any body let me know, what could be the issue.
    Thanks,
    Raj

In the test system, go to SPRO -> Logistics - General -> Handling Unit Management -> Basics -> Define Allowed Packaging Materials. Check the configuration here and confirm if the packaging material type is assigned to the material groups for packaging materials. This error could have only occured due to missing setting here.

  • IDOC DELVRY03 (WHSCON) create Handling Units

    Hi,
I am creating an inbound delivery from an IDoc.
I now want to have the items packed on the delivery.
Therefore the HU's need to be suitably created and packed into for the items.
From investigating, SAP states use the 'WHSCON for creation of Handling Units for deliveries'.  Refer OSS note 792726.
Can somebody please point me in the correct direction for performing this.
So far all I have managed to find is that EXIDV needs to be present, which is the HU, which I do not have.  Unless I am missing some fundamental point that SAP has not pointed out to me yet
As far as a BDC goes for packing, use the Single Entry tab, on VL32N anyway.
I have a BDC to do this, so can fall back to that, but it would be preferred to create the delivery and then pack it right away, whilst creating/posting the IDocs.  The IDocs also provide tracking in case things go wrong, etc, hence, prefer the workflow rather than have another program to run, etc etc.
    Thanks
    Justin Mortlock

    Hi,
Check out the qualifier in the E1EDL41 segment.
It has following qualifiers. In your IDOC you should be having 002???!!!.
If so update the mapping with the 003 qualf at the middleware/translator level.

    Hi,
The solution for creating inbound delivery that you people have suggested is already in place. The problem is not with creation of inbound delivery but with assigning the material HUs to the inbound delivery. As material HUs are having status assigned to Shipment Document which is created after outbound  delivery is processed. How should I go about it? Even after status of shipment document is made complete, assignment of HUs to inbound delivery is not possible. Please help to resolve this issue.

  • Handling unit preventing deletion of inbound delivery

    Hello,
Our Decentralized WMS had a glitch in the system that left several
idocs queued to create inbound deliveries. These deliveries have
associated handling units which were placed from the outbound delivery
to the inbound.  Before the inbound deliveries could be created via XI,
users created manual inbound deliveries against the POs and PGRed.
When the Decent WMS glitch was addressed, the IDOCs submitted were
processed, creating inbounds with handling units that were completely
    packed.
So our system contains 2 inbounds for a po.  We would like to delete the one with with the handling unit, but it's not that simple.
To address this issue, it is necessary to remove the handling units,
but this isn't possible.  We receive an error message, unable to change.
I've attempted to PGR the delivery but this isn't possble either.
the following error message is received.
    MSSA-SATRA exceeded by 2 EA : 10004063 AA26 0001 E
How can these Handling units be deleted to allow the associated inbound
deliveries to be deleted as well?
Is there a program to modify the status of the handling unit?  I do not
want to perform any table editing or goods movements unless there are
    no other alternatives

  • Pack existing Handling Units into outbound delivery

    Hi,
The current scenario is that a WHSCON IDoc is passed into SAP which will pack handling units onto an inbound delivery. As part of this processing the IDoc will create the HU records on VEKP.
Now, we are sending in a similar WHSCON IDoc to pack the same HU onto an outbound delivery. However, the IDoc is failing. It appears that the IDoc wants to create the HU instead of simply using the existing one.
Has anybody faced a similar issue.
    Thanks
    Martin

    Hallo!
Yes, I have the same problem now.
In the past we had 2 wm sub systems which send data via WHSCON to SAP and pack the delivery items.
To avoid error messages we "kill" the old vekp-record by setting the vekp-status to "0099" with a hart update and create new hu records.
Nowadays this solution is not sufficient,  because the old hu has serial numbers.
    Any solution in sight?
    bye

  • Packing a delivery via idoc

    Hello,
I am trying to understand how to pack a delivery via idoc. I am using message type SHPCON and idoc type DELVRY03. I see a segment E1EDL37, but field EXIDV is mandatory, how does external system know the value for EXIDV, which SAP generates dynamically.
    Appreciate your help.
    -Naga

    Hi Naga,
I am facing similar type of problem (DESADV - DELVRY05). I am trying to create and Inbound Delivery and Pack immediately via Idoc. I had populated the fields for Handling Unit in E1EDL37, 39, 44 segments.
Delivery was created successfully, but Packing info is not stored in VEKP/VEPO tables.
    Pls advice.
    Thanks in advance,
    Murali.

  • BAPI Handling unit creation

    Hi Everyone,
I am trying to create handling unit number using bapi
    BAPI_HU_CREATE.
I am able to create the handling unit number.
The problem arises in - no entry is getting created in line item table VEPO for the new handling unit number generated.
Anybody having idea why no entry is getting created in VEPO table.
Also, would like to know i want to update the inbound delivery with the new handling unit number generated.
For that i am planning to use FM "WS_DELIVERY_UPDATE".
Is this is the right approach to update the inbound delivery with this FM.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Tarun

    Tarun,
Here is the text from SAP Note - 581282
You want to generate or change handling units for a delivery. You have planned to use the BAPIs for business object "Handling unit" for this purpose. (For example BAPI_HU_CREATE, BAPI_HU_DELETE, BAPI_HU_PACK, BAPI_HU_REPACK, BAPI_HU_UNPACK). Since these modules do not make updates on delivery, these cannot be used for packing in the delivery.
In the same way it is not possible to pack deliveries with function modules of function group V51E (HU_CREATE_ITEM, HU_CREATE_ONE_HU, HU_DELETE_HU, HU_REPACK, HU_UNPACK).
If possible, the packing of the delivery should occur via IDOC DELVRY03 (WHSCON). If this also is not possible, function module WS_DELIVERY_UPDATE can be used. Please note, however, that this function module is not released for customers. That is, it is subjected to changes via SAP. In case of changes it is possible that your program which uses this function module, does not run anymore after importing of a Support Package and that is is necessary to change your program.
More options are currently not available.
<b> That is why I am recommending not to use the function but to have a BDC on the non-enjoy transaction. </b>.
    Regards,
    Ravi

  • Goods Receipt with respect to Handling Unit (Transaction u0096 MIGO)

    Hi All,
A delivery is created for stock transport order for goods movement from Plant XXXX (Storage Location – YYYY) to Plant XXXX (Storage Location – ZZZZ).
Handling Units are packed on delivery and delivery is post goods issued from Plant XXXX (Storage Location – ZZZZ).
While posting goods receipt (Transaction – MIGO) without selecting “Via Handling Units” system populates the “packaging material” line item whereas when “Via Handling Units” is selected (in other words – when tried to post Goods Receipt with respect to Handling Units) system doesn’t populate the associated “packaging material”.
Requirement is to populate “packaging material” line item while posting Goods Receipt with respect to Handling Unit.
    Plz guide me.

    Hi Vatcan,
Chek the Inbound Delivery 1st weather you refer the right PO in it
You can also chek in  PO i
1 Me23n Go to confirmation tab here you can see the  Inbound delivery  quantity
2 Chek  which reference document you recived the goods,  (i.e You recived the goods with reference to PO or  Inbound delivery)
2 Coz if you refer the inbound delivery then syestem will deafult show the inbound quanity
And yes the actual quanity will update in inbound delivery if you refer the inbound deivery while reciveing the goods

  • HU - handling unit is currently part of an outbound delivery

    Hello Experts,
i need to create an HU assigned to an outbound delivery.
I tried with function L_TO_PICKHU_ASSIGN, this function create the HU not assigned therefore VEKP-VBOBJ = 12.
What i need is an HU with VEKP-VPOBJ = 01 - The handling unit is currently part of an outbound delivery .
Do you know how can i fix this problem??
    Thanks in advance
    Boris Besana

    Boris,
Did you do LH01 and assign a pick-HU to the pick-TO for the outbound delivery (unless auto pickHU assignment is configed in IMG)?
Usually when you confirm the pick TO the pick HU assigned to the TO get assigned to the Outbound Delivery which references the TO, resulting in VEKP-VPOBJ = 01.
If PGI hasn't done, have you tried returning the stock via LT0G (Return Transfer for OD) to return the stock/HU?

  • PM Notification from ERP 6 to ERP 4.7 via IDOC

    Hallo,
can you help me? I'll sent an PM notification from an ERP6 to an ERP 4.7 via IDOC an the same back. Did I've a chance to do this without a lot of programming with standard Function modules for example. I'm interested in all solutions. The ERP 6 side I've configured, with a SAP standard message type INOTIF and process code /ISDFPS/NO01 that works all fine. The IDOC receives in the ERP 4.7, but I can't handle it on this side. Changes in on ERP must sent to the other side.
Thank you for all your help!

    Hi Tony
the RFC user-id needs to be a COMMUNICATION user (or CPIC, for older releases).
    Martin
IGNORE WHAT I JUST SAID..... Do not use Communication type users at all anymore. Use SYSTEM / SERVICE users only....
The reasoning behind this is well explained in [User Type Communication|User Type Communication].  You can also check the [Best Practice - How to analyze and secure RFC connections |http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/Security/BestPractice-HowtoanalyzeandsecureRFC+connections] wiki entry, however, it doesn't really help on debugging errors.
    SAProuter String: /H/xxx.xxxxxx.com/S/<;saprouter_port>/W/<saprouter_pwd>/H/
    Target Host: /H/xxx.xxxxxx.com/S/<;saprouter_port>/H/<server_name>.<domain><local>/H/
You don't appear to be specifying the saprouter password in your SM59 router string
