Hangs using USB connections

Hi,
what do you explain it seems to be almost the same as mi case.
iMAC with anything conected : no problems.
All tests, onyx,.....all OK!
If I conect my scanner and/or my USB_extHD and/or my HP laserjet .... then in any moment my iMAC hangs on color circle and it has to be stopped with rear button.
log:
[0x6a56600] The IOUSBFamily was not able to enumerate a device.

what it means?
It's a new 5 months iMAC!!
I'm trying to understand what happens. Could anyone help me please??

Hello azimut and welcome to Apple Discussions
Sounds like either a bad device, a bad USB cord or there something wrong with the way you have the devices connected. Can you give us a little better description of how you have everything plugged in, we can only imagine how you have all those devices connected up to the three ports on the back of your iMac.
Try connecting things up to the three Ports this way:
Port 1: Keyboard with only the Mouse connected to Keyboard.
Port 2: The External HD
Port 3: A Mac Compatible Powered Hub (examples below) to connect the printer, scanner and any other USB devices into.

Uploaded pictures using usb? You mean to your computer? That only stores them on your computer, it doesn't add them to photo stream.

Time Machine Starts Backup, Hangs, on USB connected drive

I have been using this same USB-connected backup drive for years. There is plenty of remaining space on it. I start the backup, it backs up for a tiny bit (1.2Mb out of 476MB) and hangs there. No error messages. Nothing. Just won't finish. Any tips on what to do? Have tried again and again, same problem.

Can I I place a call from my iPhone 5s using USB connected iMac

I was pleasantly surprised when I found my iMac (2012-Yosemite 10.10.2) could be notified and answer calls from my USB connected iPhone 5s (OSx8.2).
Question: Can I also place a call from my iMac; and if so, How? Is there an app for that?

USB connection has nothing to do with it. They have to be on the same WiFi network. It's part of 'Continuity' in OS X Yosemite and iOS 8. You can place calls using FaceTime on your Mac.

I get "Reading Error" when using USB connection from Ipod Touch to car radio. Any ideas?

Ovi won't recognise 6260 using USB connection

I have just purchased a new 6260 and installed Ovi.
When I get to the part to link to the 6260 it just hangs trying to recognised the 6260.
There is communication as the 6260 has a program executed it seems to start the link but displays a message "No response from the host"
If I go to "Safely remove hardware" the 6260 is not listed in any form.
I have tried all of the varying checks on the Nokia site.
In Device Manager>Wireless communication Devices there is "Nokia 6260 Slide USB Phone Parent" with an ! - Device Status is "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)"

Using Device Manager
To fix this error, first try to update the driver from the Device Manager. To open Device Manager, right-click My Computer on your Desktop, and then on the Hardware tab, select the Device Manager button.
In the Device Manager window, identify the CD or DVD drive item (with Yellow exclamation mark), right-click on it and select Update Driver. Follow the screen instructions to update the device driver and restart your PC.
Using Registry Editor
If updating the driver does not resolve the problem, it indicates that there is a problem in the registry. To fix this problem, you may have to remove a few keys from the registry.
Note: Be careful while working with the registry editor because changes done to the registry using the Registry Editor are irreversible and mistakes can leave you with more problems than when you started. Therefore, it is recommended that you make a backup of the registry before proceeding with the changes.
After you have removed the registry keys listed below, you will have to reinstall all applications that you use for CD or DVD recording to make them work properly.
To fix the error by editing the registry, perform the following steps:
Exit and close all applications currently running on your PC.
On Start > Run type Regedit and press the Enter key.
Next, navigate to the following registry key:

Use USB-connected hardidsk as timemachine backup using AEBS 802.11n

I got this external hard disk MyBook 1TB. When it is connected to my Macbook Pro directly via USB or firewire, I can configure it as backup disk for timemachine.
Hwever if I connect this same hard-disk to the AEBS 802.11n via USB I cannot see it in the time machin utility.
I thought this would be an alternative to the timecapsule. (as i was told it is possible).
Any hints?

Time Machine via Airdisk: Possible? Yes. Apple supported? No.
Time Machine backups to AirDisks (e.g. USB HDD attached to Extreme 802.11n) is unsupported, but has been successful by some. As well, once you decide to move any old TM backups (HDD connected directly to the Mac) to an AirDisk, you cannot continue backing up to your previous TM backup. The format it saves to vs. a local HDD is different. The folder structure you see becomes a sparsebundle/disk image via the AirDisk.

How do I capture video from canon d5 mark II to fcp using usb connection

I have always imported video to fcp via firewire using my tape cameras but soon I will have to make the jump to non linear cameras eventually as tape becomes obsolete. I haven't got a non linear camera but would like to know if there's a simple way to upload video footage with a camera like the 5d or similar non linear video cameras. Also, I'd like to know if it is possible to select the in and out points before importing like you do with tape devices so that you don't have to download all the footage shot. Thanks for any advice.

Attach camera via USB or put card in card reader.
Go to FCP, and go to the Log and TRANSFER window.
If FCP recognizes the card, you will see your clips listed on the left.
You can view them, set Ins and Outs, and import just what you want.
Once you choose a section of video and import it, FCP converts (transcodes) from its original camera format to Apple ProRes422 - a more edit friendly video file.

Using USB Connected Printer

What am I missing? I want to be able to connect my Dell all-in-one printer to the AE and print from my laptop over wireless. Problem is, when I connect the printer this way how will I be able to print from my hard-wired desktop? The desktop PC does not have wireless.

"The desktop PC does not have wireless." its connected thru ethernet, so the printer connected to the usb port on the Extreme router will show as Bonjour for the desktop. I don't run Windows and think you need a free piece of software called Bonjour something from Apple. Maybe others can chime in here.

Ipad has message on screen "icloud Backup that it hasn't been done in 3 weeks...... Fully charged it. Using usb, connected to my mac computer, I've synced it with itunes, got updates on itunes with no problems, message remains on ipadscreen.

Hi. Not sure what happened but I was able to use my ipad in December and it was backed up(sync with itunes). Now there is a message on the screen "iCloud Backup.....your icloud hasn't been backed up in 3 weeks...." and to click on ok.
I'm unable to clear the message. I syned it with itunes and tried again but its still there and I can't do anything with the ipad. The ipad go blank in a couple seconds, and I cannot use slide to unlock.
Can someone please help me with this.

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

Recently i bought a new Mini Router Huawei 4G LTE E5732 Router, it was connected easily using WI-Fi to my Mac (MacBook Pro Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013)
installed the latest update OS X Yosemite 10.10.2, I tried to be connected through the USB port on the Mac using USB connection in the Network option on the System preferences, but i was surprised that there is no such a choice !!
Please can anyone help me, it is affecting my job !

Lumia 930 USB connections

Hello everybody
I made some nice videos last week. I noticed that they weren't uploaded to OneDrive when I was connected to a WiFi network. I don't know why. All my vids from my 920 still upload.
So, I wanted to grab the video from the phone using USB connection. But, when I plug in my device, nothing happens at all. The only thing I can see is that the phone is charging. I tried this with Windows 7 and 8 so I think the issue lies not in my laptop...

hi mate when u plug in the phone it should start installing USB drivers. u do need the Windows Phone app from the Store (on Win 8) to take full advantage of proper sync of content.

Hangs iTunes unless using USB 1.1

I'd like to add my voice to the numerous problems on this forum with connecting and syncing the Shuffle with iTunes. While my Shuffle has been flaky as long as I can remember, it's pretty much unusable with iTunes 8.
In those moments of bliss when I can actually get the Shuffle to be recognized by the Mac, I've tried the dance of hard resetting the Shuffle, restoring it with the Reset Utility, erasing it on my MacBook and then erasing in on my G5, restarting the computer, resetting the PRAM, trashing com.apple.ipod.plist files, using different USB ports, and on and on.
Nothing will make this turkey work reliably. I'd say it fails at least 8-9 times out of 10 trying to connect and sync on this computer. I can't even change the settings without it hanging iTunes.
But wait ... it works fine, but slooooowly, when plugged into the USB 1.1 keyboard port. I'd dump this lemon for a nano, but I really like the small form factor.
Any other magic dance I can do?

I see the iTunes 8.0.1 update didn't do anything to correct this problem. I switched to USB 2.0 and copied over one podcast and it seemed to do so successfully. When I went to eject the Shuffle, it hung iTunes. When I got tired of waiting, I unplugged the shuffle and iTunes came back to life.
But then, my G5 spontaneously did a sleep/wake in about two seconds. The HP scanner software came to life thinking that I'd pressed a button on my scanner. Nope. So maybe the root cause is in the OS and the USB drivers?
Back to using USB 1.1.

I was previously able to use Active Print on my Ipod to print to my usb connected HP officejet 6110 all in one. Now, however, with my Ipad version 2 I can no longer get this to work. Can anyone help? Thanks.

HP do not provide any USB connection solution for iOS.
As Active Print is a 3rd party application which provide this functionality, i believe you may find a better help within Active Print support as they more familier with their application requirement and functionality:
