Optimizing Speed - Sheet/Table Configurations

Hi All -- I have a document that gets quite slow to work in, and I'm trying to figure out if I can speed it up through a redesign.
Here's a pic, with original layout on the left, and that of a possible redesign on the right:
In the left document, the 'Log' table contains a year's worth of financial entries -- can end up being nearly 1000 rows.
In the right document, the annual log is broken up into twelve monthly tables.
In both documents, the 'Cashflow' tables contained in each year's sheet contains formulas that look into the log(s) and sum up the totals for each financial account and category.
I had it in my head that breaking the annual log up into twelve monthly logs might speed things up, but I'm really not sure, so I wanted to request some feedback from the group.
If this will not be an improvement, or, if it will be an improvement but not a significant one, I am wondering whether I should consider putting the Cashflows tables in a separate document (in which case I assume the formulas would only be updated when I open that document, rather than each time I make an entry in one of the logs)? Or, perhaps I should consider populating the Cashflows tables via AppleScript? (it is suggested here --- https://discussions.apple.com/message/24904471#24904471 -- that "The Summary table is refreshed only when needed. With large tables on multiple sheets, Numbers can be become sluggish with lots of formulas constantly updating."

i think i didnt make myself clear.
I am copying this table in development...
As there are ongoing work... i decided to duplicate a table...
The real problem i am trying to solve....
TableA ==> 2billion record with compression query high on.
When i tried to add 2 column with default value '0', it hit with insufficient undo tablespace issue....
Of course... the easiest way is to have more tablespace allocated to us... but DBA not willing to set tablespace to unlimited nor increase the size.
The only way to try to solve this problem is to add the 2 column without the default value.
And for the values , need to loop parition by partition....
anyway... i figured out the fastest way...
1)CTAS with all the parition / compression query high / parallel on..... ==>Data duplicated with parition..
2)Rebuild unique index
3)Create PK using index

Numbers: how to edit multiple "sheets" "tables" all at the same time

I have read earlier posts from 2004 about this topic. Hoping things have changes.
I have 19 sheets/tables in a numbers file "Pigeonrecords.numbers". I would like to globally alter all of them a one time as new columns or rows are needed and or data that applies to all the sheets/tables. How do I do that?

You can do a few things. For instance, you can select all the tables you want to modify and you can add a new row or column to each.

How not to Fix Heigh of Pi-Sheet Tables

Hi,
By default, the heigh of pi-sheet tables is fixed and scrolling is activated when the table has more than 10 lines. It's possible to display all the lines of a table dinamically without scroll (change the heigh of the table). May I change the standard layout? If the table has 20 lines, when I open the pi-sheet I want to see the 20 lines of my table xstep.

But if I change the CSS like you say, the horizontal scroll of my table is also hidden and the screen is too much large because the table has many columns. The right-justified parameters are not displayed in the screen for the final user and he has to use the Sap scroll to see them. It's posible to display only horizontal scroll?

[4.0final] Scroll speed in table grid configurable?

Hello out there,
is there a way to configure the scroll speed (using mouse wheel) in the table data grid?
It seems that the data grid scrolls pixel wise whereas the result grid of the worksheet scrolls row wise. So can I configure the table data grid (i.e. the grid that is opened when I click on a table in the tree and then on the data tab) to respond to the mouse wheel the same way the result grid of the worksheet does?
Or is that simply a bug?
I'm using 4.0.0.13.80 on Windows 7 64bit with the suplied JDK.
Oracle version is 11.2.0.2.

Service Entry Sheet table

Hi all,
Any anybody tell me which table i can get the short text, quantity, gross price, currency, cost center, net value for Service Entry Sheet?
I tried in ESLL table with packeage number but all the above fields are cuming 0.00 in this table

ESKN                           Account Assignment in Service Package
ESLH                           Service Package Header Data
ESLL                           Lines of Service Package
ESLP                           Service Item
ESLT                           Service Item Short Texts
ESSR                           Service Entry Sheet Header Data
ESST                           Service Item Short Texts
Parameters like quantity, gross price, currency, cost center, net value might be obtained by searching in the above tables. But probably for "short text", you have to use function module READ_TEXT.

we have made a zprogram for updating business area field in bsis & bseg table for particular g/l but it is not getting updated in balance sheet if we see the balance sheet business area wise & the g/l are p/l items in F.01.my question is from which table the data of balance sheet gets updated.

The Balance Sheet and Trial Balance data is retrived fromthe Total tables like GLT0 or FAGLFLEXA tables. So when u are adding a fields to BSEG and BSIS it should also add to these tables.

Hi Shahu,
Not all SAP modules have been updated to use Smartforms.
If you prefer to use Smartform rather than copy the standard SAPscript you can take a copy of the standard print program SAPFM11P and take out the parts that call the SAPscript, then replace them with code to call your Smartform.

Convert into Data Table issue from Excel Sheet Table

i've excel file where 10-12 sheets are available in that excel file.one of the sheet is named as summary.there are 8-10 tables(named as Table1,Table2,Table3....) in that summary sheet as well.
i've to actually get the Table1 from the summary sheet into the DataTable.
So,i've written a following method to read "summary" sheet and then i checked if the Table1 exist then break the loop.My problem is i've found Table1 but i am not able to convert it into the DataTable.Can anyone tell me how to do it.

According to the description, you want to convert to the table in Excel to DataTable using Open XML SDK.
As far as I know, there is no such API we can achieve the goal directly. However, we can write custom code to complete the job. Here are some major steps for your reference:
1. Get the information of the table we wanted to convert. For example, column information and the range address for the table. And we can get the these information via the
Table object of
TableDefinitionPart Class
2. Then we can create a DataTable via the column information we get from step1 and initialize the data table via read the data from range of table.

ADF BC: Optimal Application Module Runtime Configuration

Have implemented an intranet application for 1000 users using the following technologies implemented on Oracle JDeveloper 10.1.3.0.4:
ADF BC for my Services layer
JSF for my Controller layer
JSF and ADF for my View layer
ADF Model for my Data layer
The application is entirely designed by .jspx and .jsp pages (for reports), handling 106 application modules, with several entity and view objects and without any step-by-step stateful scenario. At each page, there appears a commit button to commit the end-user transaction, and a rollback button to return to the previous page.
The application is database-backed from an Oracle Database 10g, deployed on three application servers Oracle 10.1.3.1 on three different hosts on Suse Linux OS, used data-source connection and AM pooling, and load-balanced by one webcacher in front of the 3 servers.
Under stress test scenario, on a heavy system load in production environment, several ADF State Management errors were recognized that pushed the webacher and application server with the maximum load to automatic restarts due to either demand for JVM increased heap size or errors from the database that the TNS listener complained it could not handle any more connections.
Thus, we started a safety/reliability tess for all our application module components (disabling "Enable application module pooling"), and a stress test using a third-party stress tool at work, but we're still faced with several questions.
(a) What is the best strategy for AM configuration, to quit State Management at all since our application doesn't need it, and if so can it be done globally or declaratively and not individually and programmatically?
(b) Testing on application module runtime configuration, we observed that not to "hang-on" on a connection -default functionality- but to release it at the end of each HTTP request, as each deployment is concentrated on a single data-source connection pool/single user, brought less open JDBC connections on A.S.? Is this the optimal run-time configuration than the default for our case?
(c) If State Management errors are resolved, and using a software balancer before 3 application servers, regulate the traffice by 1/3 to each, is it possible that a system crash will be avoided next time?
So, our problems related to ADF tunning and State Management Errors, but we need a good advice on this topic as the overall documentation is case-specific.

Chapter 29 "Understanding Application Module Pooling" in the ADF Developer's Guide for Forms/4GL Developers on the ADF Learning Center at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/adf/learnadf.html is the best place to start. There is no "magic" optimal configuration that I (or anyone here, really) can suggest to you. You need to understand the various "knobs and dials" that control the pool sizing and pool cleanup behavior, and then apply application-specific information to this information to derive what the optimal configuration for your particular application will be. The chapter explains how the application module pool and database connection pool interact, and in which situations it is best to change the default setting of the jbo.doconnectionpooling property to true.
Chapter 28 "Application Module State Management" describes the functionality of that facility of the framework, as well as how to release the application module in stateless, unmanaged mode if you need to.
By following the tips in the section "28.3.2.4 Setting Release Level in an Custom ADF PageLifecycle" (which builds on information introduced in section "10.5.4.1 Globally Customizing the ADF Page Lifecycle"), you can generically impose a different release level in your application without "touching" every page.
As a general rule, if you have:
(*) Lots of distinct application modules
(*) Each of which is used as a separate data control (rather than being nested inside a containing application module as described in section "8.9.3 Root Application Modules Versus Nested Application Module Usages" of the dev guide)
(*) Each of which uses the same database connection
Then as described in section "29.8 How Database and Application Module Pools Cooperate" in the guide, your application can decrease the total overall number of connections used by using the non-default setting of jbo.doconnectionpooling=true.
Applications using many distinct data controls in the span of a single user's session need to be aware of Bug# 4566186 ("PERF: ADFBINDINGFILTER CHECKS OUT ALL ADF BC DATA CONTROLS USED AT LEAST ONCE"). This issue has been fixed in JDev/ADF 11g, but apparently the fix was too complex to accommodate a 10.1.X backport. I'm trying to document a workaround and publish it on my blog, but I'm not finished with it yet.

Unable to Open Document With Multiple Sheets & Tables

Since I've had Numbers for iOS I've been a little disappointed that Apple forgot the complexity of spreadsheets.
The reason I say this is because i've been trauling for my latest problem for quite a while.
At the moment on my MBPro, I have a Numbers document saved in iCloud which works PERFECTLY for me (on the MBP).
It consists of about 5 sheets, each having 2 tables.
Each of those tables has 3 or 4 forumals which relate to relative cells. They're nothing but basic arithmatic cells i.e. think of a journal sheet for a business. Works in the same fashion but tracks my mortgage payments etc...
It opens perfectly on my Mac, but when I fire it up on numbers, I get a crash and a crashlog.
Before I flummux everyone with the crashlog, has anyone experienced this yet? If not and you need the crashlog, I can post it. From what I see, it's a non-specific error which I can't seem to decypher.
Any help would be appreciated!

In Numbers on iOS, the restrictive formula editing is not handling the extra space in some of the formulas. In some of the tables, in column D, the formulas have a space between the function name and the open parenthesis.
E.g. =IF (...
Attaching a file with the extra spaces removed that should open on your iPhone.

DX650 cannot show caller ID name after speed dial is configured

Hi all,
Once I replaced my IP phone from CP-7975 with DX650, I found the incoming caller name display is missing for those caller phone numbers are configured as "one-button speed dial" on the DX650. For other callers calling to DX650, the caller name can be displayed correctly.
Anyone encounters this issue before and how to solve it?? Right now, DX650 is not mapped with the google account and other directory setting.

to resolve your issue go to home screen of DX650 and click Contact , then click serch icon , enter the name of contact and aftar that click copy in my Conctacts Button.
Rollback to phone icon in home screen of DX650 ,click add new speed dial then selec your contact , click save .
and make a test , your probleme we will resolved.

COPA Table Configuration

Hi Guys,
I need to configure a COPA table that would show cost components such as Sales Quantity,Net sales, Contribution Margin, Gross Margin, Discounts, Labor costs,variable costs for a plant, a customer and a material.
i did some research and i found that above mentioned KPI's are coming from different SAP modules such as SD, FI,COPA,MM etc.
I need to know how to find my relevant kPI's from those modules and how to incorporate them in my COPA table.
If there is a guide for this then kindly let me know or else let me know what the steps are so i can try to configure it myself.

In SE10, we can use the user name and find out the configuration done by the user to the tables. Similary how can we find out the user name by using the table name known?

It is a customizing table and the changes must be surely in a transport request. Execute T Code SE03 and double-click (in the tree to the left) on 'Search for Objects in Requests/Tasks'. In the next screen, you will see some 'R3TR' program ID and object types populated and greyed out. In the line where object type is open for input, enter 'TABU' and in the adjacent field enter T041A. Check the checkbox of this line (where you entered TABU and T041A), make sure both the statuses 'Modifiable' and 'Released' checkboxes are checked and execute (F8). You will see all the transport requests containing changes to this table (and user names on those transport requests).
