Hardrive Icon when downloading - Make it go away.

When you download a new program to a MAC you get an icon that looks like a hardrive. Once the program is downloaded why can't I throw that away? Or where can I put that icon?

If you can run the ldm(1m) command, LDoms is still enabled. If you do the following on Solaris and reboot into the "factory-default" config, the machine should be as if LDoms was never running on it.
ldm ls-config
ldm rm-config <any created configs>
svcadm disable ldmd
svcadm disable vntsd
pkgrm SUNWldmBTW, all sun4v machines have a hypervisor (even before LDoms support was added). It's just that from 6.4.x onwards, the hypervisor supports multiple domains.
The messages with 6.3.7 are harmless - just debug messages telling you that LDoms is not supported on that firmware. They shouldn't have been printed, and they are fixed in OpenSolaris and Solaris 10 08/07 (U4)
6495154 mdeg should not print a warning when the MD generation number does not change

When I'm at my home, and on my Wifi, my 4G icon on my LG G2 is still present. No big deal. If the bits can flow via WiFi, that's what they'll do.
You might try (if you really MUST shut off the cellular radio):
Settings, Network Connections and More networks. Select Mobile Networks and uncheck Mobile data and data roaming.
Not sure if that will work - but give it a try.

  • Why are some app icons hi-def in the App Store, then pixelated when downloaded? (Even after uninstall/reinstall)? Any way to fix this?

Just as an example, TSN. The icon always appears as hi-def/Retina display in the app store if you search for it or it asks you to update, then when it updates it goes back to being pixelated. I can see if it is an app-specific issue but there are other apps like Bank of America which do the same thing. I don't think it's because they haven't updated the icon because they have, it appears perfect when viewed in the App Store. Uninstall/reinstall did not fix this. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated! It may sound minor, but it makes all the difference visually!

How pixelated could the app look like?  The only reason why the app icon could look pixelated, is if you are using the iPhone 4 or iPod Touch 4th generation.  They obviously have an upscaled resolution, so the apps could not have been upscaled when downloading... I am not sure about this issue...
Like you said, it is a minor issue...

I am getting this message when I open Safari.  How do I make it go away?
    Thanks, Ed Williams

    To Remove plug-in
1.) Open the SplashID desktop app
2.) Navigate from Menu bar "File" -> "Plugin for Safari" -> "Uninstall".
I could not find it in either Library/Internet Plug-ins nor ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins as others have suggested.
    Cheers!

When downloading a CD album, if it contains different artists, the album is split up into separate albums/icons. How do I get all songs into one album (just like the original CD)?

Generally, in iTunes, all you need to do is fill in an appropriate Album Artist to keep things together. For older iPods each track from the same album should have the same artist, or be marked as a compilation where appropriate. For iOS devices you may need to go to Settings > Music > Group By Album Artist > On.
For more details see my article on Grouping Tracks Into Albums, in particular the topic One album, too many covers.

Disable Yahoo Messenger in your Yahoo Mail account.
Use the arrow on the right of your account name to go offline or sign out.

I don't have the download icon when i open safari?

    Steven,
Go to Safari>Preferences...>General> and set "Remove download list items: to "Manually."
If that setting is "Upon Successful Download" the Downloads icon only appears during the download.

  • Strange window when starting up! Make it go away!

I have the apple care protection plan and recently sent in my ibook to have the hard drive replaced. They installed 10.3 and I have upgraded to 10.4.5
When I boot up I get a black screen with some type of code which runs down the screen before the gray screen with the activity circle swirling. I though when I upgraded this might stop. It didn't.
What is this and how do I make it go away? I don't like to see this "dos" like mess.
    Thanks!

  • Pop-up error messages when running a script?? make them go away!

    v1.5.1, build 5440.
I've been running a development setup script for some months now.
It has errors in it, it creates synonyms or grants for objects that no longer exist. ( It's not been worth my time to correct it, because I just run it and ignore the errors for now. I'll tidy up when I'm building the installers.)
Suddenly, today, sql developer has decided to pop-up a message window to tell me about each error. I have to press ok for it to continue. On top of the annoyance factor that a task that took 5 seconds now takes 60, the message is totally useless because it doesn't tell me which object does not exist! In other words, I will still have to read the output log anyway!
I haven't changed any of my settings, though I did have to restore to an old version of my connections file when it got corrupted (again).
So, why/how did these messages decide to show up, and more importantly, how can I make them go away?

You could check with [http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/helpcentral/ Yahoo Help] to see if other users have seen this problem with Yahoo Mail ... for example, I found [http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20111027204141AANNBYY this] where a user had a similar problem that had to do with Messenger contacts:
Thanks for this. Follow-up: Found out 15' ago after a lot of clickety-click that you can mousey up to the upper left of the screen. Click "Options." If you see a "Messenger" option, then open that up and select "only my Contacts can message me." That seems to have gotten rid of "yummicrush698."

  • When downloading Firfox 4.0 on my mac, it downloads with a large circle on the app that look like a no smoking icon. When I drag the icon to app folder and launch it tell me Firefox does not support my system. Help

When downloading Firefox it ha an icon when launched on my desktop to drag to app folder. The Firefox icon has a "No Smoking"
universal Symbol. The symbol is a white circle with a line going diagnol thru the firfox icon. As in, "Not allowed".
Need to know why firefox will not work on my mac.

I have the same problem. I'm guessing that you get the same error message that Firefox is not compatible with your system's architecture? Information that would have been extremely useful before replacing functional software with useless trash.

  • App icon is grey when downloading on phone

    hello guys!
when i downloaded apps on my phone before, the semi-transparent icon of the app would show up with a status bar when it's downloading and it would show the full icon when it's done installing. last night when i was trying to update an app, the icon appears as semi-transparent grey (without any images) with a status bar underneath. the image of the icon will only appear after it's installed.
i tried downloading another app and it's doing the same thing, is this an app store issue? or somehow my phone is not handling the download correctly.
    thanks!

The same thing has just started happening to me but it really doesn't seem to matter. It's causing no problems that I can see.

  • Why do I get the message: additional fees may apply when downloading songs over cellular in my itunes on my iphone 5? Plus I see the cloud icon that is either greyed out or red

I uploaded my old songs on my computer then I tried to sync them in my iphone's music library and I can't listen to the previously purchased songs... They either appear red with the cloud icon or greyed out... And I get the following message when I tap on them: additional fees may apply when downloading songs over cellular
    Anyone can help?

Un-sync all your music to remove it from the device, then restart (hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go). Now re-sync your music.
