Hardware development kit

hi, I work in a group that develop prototype audio Synthesizers and from about one year I am studying the java language with a particular attention to the J2me technology.
the point is that we work with discreet circuits(all analog) and we want to integrate it with a digital interface using java.
what you think: is it possible?
where I can find usefull documentation?
what kind of equipment do I need?
is there an hardware development kit to start it?
I am quite new about java but I love it and also
I don't want to renounce to analogue (discreet circuits & tubes) technology. can you help me?
any kind of suggestion are wellcome!
emiliano

Java Media Framework
The Java Media Framework API (JMF) enables audio, video and other time-based media to be added to Java applications and applets. This optional package, which can capture, playback, stream and transcode multiple media formats, extends the multimedia capabilities on the J2SE platform, and gives multimedia developers a powerful toolkit to develop scalable, cross-platform technology.

Be aware of these known issues (as of 3/23) in this release:
    Windows SDK
After you install the Windows SDK, Windows 10 apps might not build successfully with
Visual Studio 2015 Community Technology Preview (CTP) 6 due to a of a metadata problem. Although you should not install the Windows SDK if you are doing app development, you can use the following workaround to build an app
    successfully:
    Exit Visual Studio.
Open a command prompt as administrator.
    Run the \Program Files (x86)\Windows Kits\10\bin\x86\GenerateUnionWinMD.cmd script.
    Windows ADK
When installing to Windows 7 PCs, run ADKSetup.exe in administrator mode.
    WDK
Currently, WDM templates do not build
Driver deployment to target PCs won’t work if the
Display name used in the Device Configuration dialog is different than the

  • Attn: Installing the Sample Applications from the ifs Development Kit

There are a number of problems with the sample Applications included in the
Developer's kit. These need to manually fixed in order to get the demos to work.
    #1: Solaris Only
The install of the iFS Development Kit, replaces the existing adk.jar with a new
one containing some additional classes. Unfortunately the install process does not
set the correct privileges on the new version of adk.jar. Please ensure that the
    file $ORACLE_HOME/ifs/lib/adk.jar is world readable.
    Bug # 1304730
This issue will be resolved on the next drop of the Oracle Internet File System
    development kit.
    #2: Generic
There is a problem with the way in which the login.jsp establishes a connection to
the repository. The current code makes incorrect assumptions about the name of the
iFS Service and the schema password.
    The following changes are required.
In order to connect to the repository 4 pieces of information are required.
    1. The iFS User Name
    2. The iFS User's password
    3. The properties file to be used
    4. The database password of the user who owns the iFS Schema
The Login.jsp needs to be altered so that it requests these four arguments before
attempting to establish a connection to the repository.
(The current version only requests username and password).
All four arguments need to be provided as arguments to the login method on the
underlying JavaBean that the JSP invokes when it want to open a connection
    to the repository.

#3. Making the BaseRendererClass available to the Protocol Servers
Note this step is not required if you have the 1.0.8.3 patch set installed.
Install the BaseRenderer Class. The BaseRenderer class is delivered in the jar file
ifsdevkit.jar and can be used to simplify the task of creating a custom renderer.
Unfortunately the jar file containing this class is not referenced in any of the Classpaths
used by the iFS protocol servers. This means that they will not be able to load any
customer renderers that extend BaseRenderer. In order to make BaseRenderer available
to the Protocol Servers it need to be placed in the appropriate directory under
    <ORACLE_HOME>/ifs/custom_classes.
Extract the class from the ifsdevkit.jar.
ifsdevkit.jar is located in <ORACLE_HOME>/ifs/lib after the devkit has been installed.
    jar -xvf ifsdevkit.jar
    extracted: META-INF/MANIFEST.MF
    extracted: BaseRenderer.class
Create the following directory heirachy in <ORACLE_HOME>/ifs/custom classes
    oracle/ifs/server/renderers
    Copy <ORACLE_HOME>/ifs/lib/BaseRenderer.class to
    <ORACLE_HOME/ifs/custom_classes/oracle/ifs/server/renderers
    That should do it.

In any case, are you referring to the capacity of the iPad itself? If so, a 16GB will be fine for testing unless you have it loaded up with too much stuff for your app to load and run. If that's not what you meant, please clarify.

I would like to use Java version 6.

    Hi John,
I sort of remember Java 6  being IntelMac only...
Once you’ve gotten logged in, go to Downloads, select “Java” on the right hand side of the page, and download the Java SE 6 beta. Note: this is only available for Intel Macs running Tiger or Leopard — if you’ve got a G4 or G5, you’re out of luck right now

    But here they are...

Can I do Java 6 development in OS X?...

  • Se development kit (jdk 6) problem creating class file with HelloWorldApp

I downloaded the java SE Development kit (JDK 6) with Java FX SDK and used the download manager from Java web site, the program downloaded the
jdk-6u13-javafx-1_1_1-windows-i586 icon to my desktop and the java program to
    C\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_13
         Jre1.5.0_05
         Jre1.6.0_03
         Jre6
I then created a Java source file which was HelloWorldApp.java. and typed in the Hello World Code as requested I saved it to
    C\Documents and Settings\Compaq_owner\Java.
Then I try to compile my source file into a .class file and get stuck as I am told to open a command window which I do through, start\allprograms\accessories\command promt.
My command window says C:\Documents and Setting\Compaq_Owner>
I am told to compile my source file and I must change my directory in the command window to the directory where my file is located.
I type after the existing promt, cd C:\java and also tried, cd C:\Documents and Settings\Compaq_Owner\Java\HelloWorldApp. And was told both times the system cannot find the path specified
I typed dir after the promt and can see the java directory there in the list, but have I placed my HelloWorldApp File in the wrong place what is wrong please help I cannot get off the ground
    Kind regards pete

C\Documents and Settings\Compaq_owner\Java.Then the full path to your HelloWorldApp.java file is: C\Documents and Settings\Compaq_owner\Java\HelloWorldApp.java.

I type after the existing promt, cd C:\java and also tried, cd C:\Documents and Settings\Compaq_Owner\Java\HelloWorldApp. And was told both times the system cannot find the path specifiedcd stands for Change Directory. You want to change to the directory where your .java file is. You can not use a path that ends in a file because a file is not a directory.
You may need to put C\Documents and Settings\Compaq_owner\Java inside double quotes, "C\Documents and Settings\Compaq_owner\Java" I think newer versions of Windows will not require the double quotes.

  • Installation problems with 9iAS Developer KIT

I have 9iAS installed on one machine with 9iAS infrastructure in it's own home and 9iAS components it's own home.
The Big problem I am having is that each time I try to install the 9iAS developer KIT in 9iAS component home an error about saying cannot install.
So should the 9iAS developer KIT have it's own home? That is different from 9iAS component home on the same maching

  • Core Duo compared to development kits

Do you think that the Core Duo's are faster than the development kits? I know there are a lot of other differences but are two processors running at 2.0 Ghz faster than one running at 3.6? I am all for having a dual processor iMac, just wondering if it was necessary.
    Thanks,
    "D"

It should be faster with any apps which have more than one thread (i.e. are optimized for multi-core/multi-processor systems). As for single-threaded apps, the Core Duo should perform like a 2.0 Ghz Pentium M, which is probably as fast or faster than a 3.0 Ghz Pentium 4 in almost every situation.
Note that the Pentium 4 660 processors shipping with Developer Transition Kits support Intel EM64T technology (64-bit on x86), whereas the Intel Core Duo does not ...

  • Problems with the eway development kit (eDK) on CAPS 5.1.1

    Hi all!
I'm having difficulties trying out the eway development kit(CAPS 5.1.1). I would like to create an oracle AQ eway, but first of all i would like to test out the samples included in the documentation, for instance the edkfile eway.
I've build the sar file from the post implementation zip file, and loaded it in the repository.
When looking at the new eway in the designer, the eway don't have any methods. I was expecting to be able to expand the EDKFILE eway and find a method called write.
The same thing happens to the other samples also. I've build the sar files as described in the guide. Maybee I'm missing out on something.. Well, have anyone tried this out successfully?

    Hi,
We are using JCAPS5.0 , and I didnt find any eDK plugin with JCAPS,Probabily its available but I am not aware of it or what I didnt know. Can you please provide me information ,how can I develop my own customised eWay and use it in my project.
    Thanks,
    Renga.S.

  • Can I use Java Card Development Kit 2.2.1 on Windows XP?

Can I use Java Card Development Kit 2.2.1 on Windows XP?
If no, which kit supports XP?

It is not as strait forward as per say.
I would like to share some tips that I have learnt duirng my recent experience with Java Card Development Kit 2.1.2 ( It presumed that JAVA SDK and JCDK is properly installed:
    Additonal installation
    - you need to download Java Communicatons API version 2.o for Windows at http://java.sun.com/products/javacomm/downloads/index.html
    - unzip the downloaded file javacom20-win20.zip
    - copy comm.jar and javax.com.properties to %JAVA_HOME%\lib
    - copy win32com.dll to %JAVA_HOME%\bin
    Configuration of Environment
    - Activate System under Control Panel
    - Click Environment Variable button under Advance Tab.
    - Check that JAVA_HOME and JC21_HOME are there under User Variables for user123
    - Create a new enviroment by clicking New button under User Variables and Enter "CLASSPATH" for Variable Name and ".;c:\j2sdk1.4.1_04\lib\comm.jar for Variable Value ( the ".;" is important for the entry and varies according to your JAVA_HOME)
    Modifying %JC21_HOME%\samples\build_samples.bat
    - Next you need to modify the compiler option in build_samples.bat
    - Use editor to look for the portion "Compile Sample" and add "- target 1.1" to every statements here. A sample is listed below:
    %JAVA_HOME%\bin\javac -target 1.1 %JCFLAGS% src\com\sun\javacard\samples\HelloWorld\*.java
You may proceed to test the demo codes as instrucrted in the User Guide.
I hope the above will help those who are keen to have a head start in Java Card Developemnet.
