Having GP point to customer iViews and not "com.sap.pct"  default iViews

We are tailoring the SAP-delivered ESS Life and Work Events Guided procedures, and have now successfully built a couple of them.  However, when we execute these procedures, they point to the SAP-delivered ESS iViews, and not to the copies we have made
e.g. pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/every_user/.............../com.sap.pct.erp.ess.employmentverif   INSTEAD OF
pcd:portal_content/com.COMPANYNAME//com.sap.pct.erp.ess.employmentverif
I have searched high and low throughout the available documentation, and have not seen how I can point to our customied iViews.
Any insight will be gratefully acknowledged.
Sincerely
Rob

Problem solved.
I was defining the actual webdynpro as the callable object.  What I should have done was invoke a Portal Iview, NOT the dynpro.  In doing that, I brought up the personalized iview, and everything worked like a charm.

How To reset iPad without having it synced to a computer and not knowing the password????  I changed my password and have forgotten it is there any way I can access and get on it??? Thanks

You must use a computer. There is no way around it for you.
You have to restore the device within iTunes. You can restore with any other computer, but you will lose everything on the iPad. You will have to download all of your purchased content again after you unlock the device.
You will have to use recovery mode

  • JAVA_HOME points to a JDK and not a JRE.

    Hi,
I am using Redhat Linux 9. From root i can able to find the java -version as
    java version "1.4.2_06"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2_06-b03)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.2_06-b03, mixed mode)
But when i run jboss_home/bin$ sh run.sh i am getting the error as follows,
    [root@arc bin]# sh run.sh
    run.sh: Missing file: /root/usr/java/j2sdk1.4.2_06/lib/tools.jar
run.sh: Unexpected results may occur. Make sure JAVA_HOME points to a JDK and not a JRE.
run.sh: line 181: /root/usr/java/j2sdk1.4.2_06/bin/java: No such file or directory
I set Java_Home, JBOSS_HOME but why i am getting these error. Please let me know.

Don't know nothing about JBoss but, when JBoss starts up does it switch to it's own username?, i.e not root, if it did it probably wouldn't be able to access root's home dir to get to java, as root's home dir is usually not readable by any other user, just a hunch.

  • IView not found: com.sap.pct.mdm.tech.systems.MDMSystemWizard

    Hello Experts!
I've installed MDM 5.5 SP6 along with the portal content that came from the same download. The portal content files I installed are listed below.
    BPMDMAPPLI06_0.sca
    BPMDMTECHN06_0.sca
    MDM_WEB_UI550.sca
    MDMJAVAAPI06_0.sca
When I try to get a new MDM system I get the exception below. I've looked and searched the portal content and this iView (com.sap.pct.mdm.tech.systems.MDMSystemWizard) does indeed appear to be missing. Is there something else I need to install? The SCA files all deployed without errors.
    Steps to recreate this error:
System Administration => System Configuration => Portal Content => (landscape directory)
=> Right-Click => New System (from template) => choose MDM System template => Next
    Thanks,

  • EP6: com.sap.pct.crm.generics.ValueHelp not found

    Hi at all,
We are tring to setup crm default scenario in EP6.
To do this we have imported the relative business package from iviewstudio.com (Business Package for SAP CRM 4.0 50.2)
The Bsp part of the application seems to work fine but we get an error following the link that should open a pop-up to help the user selecting values
    The error is described here:
    <i>Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing a request for :
    iView : N/A

    iView not found: /global/services/service-iviews/local/com.sap.pct.crm.generics.ValueHelp.</i>
This Iview was imported correctly from the business package (I've checke the import logs).
I've looked on the server and I've found the related classes/jar (generics.jar).
I've looked also log (using the logviewer application) files but there nothing releted to this.
Does anyone have an idea to solve the problem? or something else to check?
    Thanks in advance,
    Bye
    Fabio

    Hi Giovanni,
It looks like a permissions issue, you might want to refer to the permissions of
    1. The role that you are creating, see to it that you have everyone group assigned to it and enduser checked.
    2. As you are connecting to CRM system, you might be have created a system using which you are accessing the CRM system, check for the permissions of that as well.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers,

  • Itunes allows library to point to other folders and not copy files - WHY DOESN'T iPHOTO?

Hopefully Terence Devlin and other experts will see this. I really am intrigued as to iphoto behaviour and seek some clarification.
I just waded through 13 pages of an old thread that was locked where Terence kept saying iphoto was all one needed to work with one's photos and kept getting called on the fact he would not answer the question "where are my photos" (photos = files) because it was so darn dangerous for anyone to touch the actual files in the iphoto library.
I have a use case I need help on and an example of Apple's utter inconsistency here.
Inconsistency: iTunes lets me create a library all the while pointing to the original files that *I* have imported and structured in a given directory/folder stucture.  Yes it means I manually manage what is in itunes etc, but that's how I like it. The key thing is that itunes allows the choice to import (copy) files (which makes duplicate and doubles hard disk usage) or not.
iphoto does not allow that option.
I just converted to Mac from a PC and copied in over 100gb of photo files - some 16,000 photos. I import new pics to the Mac using Canon native software and store them accoring to a structure/taxonomy that *I* determine and want to control - not some software's predetermined idea of events or locations or whatever.  In itunes I can make 'music' an 'audiobook' or I can make a podcast 'music', I can edit the metadata to order things in the 'library' as *I* choose and the itunes library is coole with this without havign ANY of the soruce files in its library. Naively, I thought iphoto would follow a similar philosophy.
Use case: I discovered that iphoto has some very effective functionality for management of my uploads and sets etc in Flickr, but to do so I have to import my pics, obviously. So I did import the whole 'Pictures' folder - not for a moment considering that Apple would be dumb enough to copy every pic and make a duplicate, or that I might not get the chance to say yes or no to this in the settings, as per itunes.  Having looed for that optin and failed to find it I imported anyway to see what happened. After I realised that the Mac was heating up and files were being copied and I was going to lose another 100+gb of disk space I forced this to quit.  And thanks to others on that other thread I found the iphoto library and deleted the whole thing, getting back 100bg of drive space. All I want to do is use iphoto for the Flickr sharing/management functionality - I have no use for it otherwise.
Why would Apple think that not having to duplicate files is ok for itunes but not a viable option for iphoto? Why would I want to double the disk space used for every photo I store? At the very least iphoto needs to come with a health warning that it should only be used to import from external devices and be the sole manager of photos, unless one wants to use double the disk space.
So if I want to use the sharing (i.e. Flickr uploading and management of sets etc) capabilities, should I import all or some of my folders, do my work and then delete the library each time to reclaim the disk space?

If I import photos to iPhoto, the originals are deleted? So if I import from a card I have taken from my camera or if I connect my camera directly, the act of importing into iPhoto wipes them from my card?
Again, you need to check your facts before getting indignant. This is simply not true. It's an option you have and not one I recommend using. But it's only an option.
Storage costs money and I do not want to have two copies of every pic on my hard disk - especially given huge filesizes of RAW files today.
No one is suggesting that you have two copies. You have your iPhoto Library and then you back that up. Again, less indignnation, more careful study.
I do use other photo managers (e.g. native Canon tools) quite happily and they are far less 'exclusive' - i.e. I can use different apps with the same native file structure.
Using other photo managers makes little sense, any more than having two address books. How do you keep them in sync. Your comment about file structure is important, we'll come back to that.
If I want to go back to a Windows PC or any other machine and want to retain the "manual" file labelling and directory structure that I have implemented and been using for years, it seems that having a reference library that *I* know the taxonomy of is actually an advantage if I want to go somewhere else.
If you want to retain exactly the same filing structure you have now, then don't use any Photo Manager. Stick to the file manager. You'll be missing out on a lot of options, but hey ho, it's what you want.
That said, if you want to migrate from iPhoto to a Windows Machine then that's what File -> Export is for, and you can export from iPhoto to a folder tree matching your Events.
And this is a big one: This is true of any Photo Manger. Especially one with lossless processing - iPhoto, Aperture, Lightroom et al.
Here's the principle: IT IS MY DATA AND I WILL DECIDE HOW IT IS LABELLED - WHAT THE FILENAMES ARE - AND HOW IT IS STRUCTURED INTO DIRECTORIES AND SUB-DIRECTORIES.  I WILL DECIDE WHICH APPLICATION I USE TO DO ANYTHING WITH THAT DATA AT ANY POINT IN TIME
DId you stomp your foot while writing those block capitals too?
But here's the thing: It's your data then why the heck are you dealing with Files?
This is the key difference, and frankly, unless you can geet this you're always going to have problems with Photo Mangers.
The illustration I use is as follows: In my iTunes Library I have a file called 'Let_it_Be_The_Beatles.mp3'. So what is that, exactly? It's not the song. The Beatles never wrote an mp3. They wrote a tune and lyrics. They recorded it and a copy of that recording is stored in the mp3 file. So the file is just a container for the recording. That container is designed in a specific way attuned to the characteristics and requirements of the data. Hence, mp3.
Similarly, that Jpeg is not your photo, it's a container designed to hold that kind of data. iPhoto is all about the data and not about the container. So, regardless of where you choose to store the file, iPhoto will manage the photo, edit the photo, add metadata to the Photo but never touch the file. If you choose to export - unless you specifically choose to export the original - iPhoto will export the Photo into a new container - a new file containing the photo.
See? It's about the data and the data and the file are not the same thing. Organising your photos based on the files is like organising a shoestore based on the boxes and not the shoes.
And here's the thing: anything you want to do with your Photos can be done either with or via your Photo Manager.
And again, I strongly stress, this is true of iPhoto, Aperture and Lightroom.
And please note: either with or via... Want to use a 3rd party editor, that can be done easily and so on.
Let me correct you. "If you use an APPLE Photo Manager then it's the go-to app for whatever you do with your photos.
    Doesn't matter who makes it.
Other Photo Managers may have more flexibility and enable greater user control."
Sure. iPhoto's a $15 app. Aperture is a $70 one. Adobe's Lightroom is about $150. Pay more get more options.
And remember where we came in here: You said you weren't able to choose where to store your files. You're wrong. You can. All I'm saying is that there's no point and more work to it.
For many - including me - the Apple way seems way too dictatorial -
Whoa. Apple are dictating nothing. You don't have to use iPhoto, you don't have to use a Mac. And remember:
...where we came in here: You said you weren't able t choose where to store your files. You're wrong. You can. All I'm saying is that there's no point and more work to it
Are Ford dictatorial demanding you steer the car using a wheel? Sheez.
and yes there are certainly advantages for some types of users of trusting one piece of software to do everything, however non-transparent it may be what it is doing or why, and with the dangers of trying to do ANYTHING else at all with one's photos.
And again, everything is quite transparent if you take a little while to understand it. You don't understand it because you're coming from a file management  and not a data management perspective. Also no one is suggesting using "one piece of software to do everything". iPhoto leverages the Finder for storage, QuickTime for display, uses and Open-Source database and so on, it protects your original file like a digital negative.
iPhoto may well not be the app for you. That's especially true since you don't understand it and are confusing it with a file manager. That's fine. But please, stop saying things that aren't true.

  • VerizonWireless  Customer Service is NOT Customer Oriented and NOT Service at all.

We went to our local Verizon Wireless store on September 5th 2011 to add a line to our family plan to get our daughter her first phone.  Since all her friends do is text, we discussed the various texting plans with the sales person.  SInce her friends mostly have Verizon it was decided we would get her a plan that had 500 txts out of network and unlimited in network.  Since she would be texting, my wife and I took the minimum texting plan for ourselves to handle our daughter's txts to us, 250 txts a month each. As any of you who leave a Verizon store know, you get a receipt for what you paid for (her new phone) and a long receipt to file for your inevitable rebate, and you leave with your new phone working.  We have been Verizon customers for 18 years together, and long before that individually, we have our home phone, internet and wireless with them.
We get our first bill and it is about $150. more than expected.  Why?  The store employee failed to put on the txt plans for any of us, and also gave us a separate plan for our daughter instead of adding a line to our plan.  Wife went to the store and they told her they did not remember what  went on, had no indication that txting should have been added or that plan was not set up properly.  They told her nothing they could do and she should call customer service.
I just spoke with customer service and they said all they could do was take 25% off the new bill (an extra $184 that we did not yet know about! but that was all he could do) and could do nothing else because the store employee did not write any notes about txting plans.  I aksed if he wrote a note saying we did not ask for a txting plan, refused a txting plan, or that we asked for a separate line rather than an added family line.  He said no.  I explained that Verizon does not give me anything that shows what an incompetent employee may have typed into their computer.  We know what we ordered, we confirmed it all verbally with the guy before he entered everything into the computer, but whether he was too incompetent to get it right, there was a problem with Verizon computers, or Verizon does this on purpose, I do not know and  they do not give you anything showing your plan when you leave, to check or prove otherwise.  In short, they can make any mistake---and they did---and then Verizon's point of view seems to be "well, you can't prove you ordered what you ordered, or wanted what you wanted, because we don't give you anything and then we will say our employee did not make any notes about it so we can't help.  Interestingly, the guy I spoke to at customer service would not even transfer me to a supervisor.  I have never had that happen in many years of dealing with corporations. So Verizon would like about $300. extra dollars and to make the changes to our plan only as of yesterday that we ordered in their own company store back on September 5th.
This is not only the worst customer service I have ever seen (and we own a lot of stuff) but I will do my best to see no one else suffers from it, at least here in NJ.  I am contacting the state attorney general and the FCC to see what recourse they can offer.  Despite the aggravation and inconvenience, I am arranging other service for all the products we, momentarily, still have with Verizon, and when we leave if Verizon brings up early termination fees on my daughter's phone they can speak to my friend who is an attorney who will hopefully be able to help with that.  In the meantime we won't let any bills lapse and hurt our credit rating but I will see Verizon in small claims court for anything I have to pay that is over the charges I would have paid with the plans I actually ordered.

  • Point to File erratic and not working?

I'm running Dreamweaver CS4 (relatively new to Dreamweaver, but have many years of web development experience).  On my Mac the "Point to File" icon will create an arrow about 100 pixels up and it's motion is erratic and it will not allow me to point to a file in my "files" pane.  Is this a known bug?
I'm running on a 30" Mac HD monitor 2560 x 1600 and a Dell 24" 1920 x 1200.  It's as if the Arrow/pointer line gets confused about which monitor it's on and seems to be relative to the 24" Dell rather than my 30" Mac.

  • Having a MBPr late 2013 and having a sound problem the sound does not come tom the headphones even its all the way up and when i remove the headphones it docent come out the internal speaker either ? any idea how i fix this?

the sound do not come out the headphones sometimes altho its all the way up in the setting and when i remove the headphones the sound doesnt come from the internal speaker either and only a reboot fixes the problem and thats annoying! any idea how tto fix this?

Hello. I've been able to play sound without problems through headphones or external speakers to date - the output always switched to these automatically until today. Now, sound output continues through internal speakers even if I plug in headphones or external speakers.
    - I tested the headphones and speakers on other devices: they work fine.
    - When I plug in headphones or speakers into the audio output port (I have verified that I'm not using the input jack) the devices are not detected and are not listed under the output tab in system preferences-sound.
I concluded from this that I probably had a problem with the audio port, so to test that I tried the following. I plugged a powered multi-USB device with ports for microphone line-in and headphone line-out into the USB port and switched it on. I verified that it was working by plugging a USB stick into the multi-USB device - this was recognised successfully, so the device was clearly working. I then plugged in headphones and speakers into the audio line-out on the multi USB device - but still no sound came through them (and tey were not listed among output devices) and the Mac continued using internal speakers.
What should I do? Does the latter test suggest that the problem does not lie with the audio port, or is my test not conclusive? What would you advise?
    Many thanks indeed!

  • Which Bapi is available for uploading Customer Invoice and Payments in SAP

    Dear Friends.
I want to upload Customer Invoices and Incoming Payments in the System.
Currently i have written a BDC-Session Program to Upload this data.
I have took the recording of tcode f-22 for Invoices, f-27 for credit memo and f-28 for payments and developed the required BDC program.
    Its working fine.
Since the Volume of the data is huge .. ie around 50,000 daily, it takes too much time.
Also i am not able to have a proper error log.
I would like to know from you, whether there is any bapi available to upload this data (invoices, credit memo and payments).
OR is there any other faster and proper error log maintaining scenario available.
I appreciate for all your helps and informations.
    Thanks
    Kuna.

    Hi,
could u please send me the f-28 upload program.
    Thanks in advance.

  • My firefox custom page does not come up when i click the firefox icon w/mac

For the last 3 days when I click the firefox icon on my mac i get the plain igoogle page. My custom page does not automatically come up as befoe. Then I have to reset the i google password everytime then get to my page

Ok, lets do a couple of steps here first:
To make sure your windows isn't corrupted because of the power outage, let's run chkdsk.
Click on My Computer, then right click your C: Drive (if you have other hard drives, you will want to run this on them as well). Then, click Properties. Inside that window, go to the Tools tab. Inside that tab, open up the "Check Now" button. That will open a smaller window. Select the checkbox to "Automatically fix file system errors", then hit Start. You will probably receive an error asking if you want to schedule the disk check, click Yes, then restart your computer.
Read [http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265] for more information.
After running the chkdsk, then please go to [http://www.getfirefox.com www.getfirefox.com], and download a fresh version of Firefox. I'm assuming you are using Internet Explorer to download Firefox. Instead of hitting Run, let's try hitting save. Remember where it saves the installer file on your computer.
After the download has finished, double-click and run the Firefox install. Once it is finished, try to start Firefox up. Let me know how it goes!

  • Change "Create a request" button in SMPortal (SSP) to point to custom Request Offering (not Generic Incident Request)

    Hello MSSCSM community,
is it possible to change the request offering mapping of the "Create a request" button (Image1)? By default it points to "Generic Incident Request" request offering. But this is related to a sealed MP and cannot be edited. So i cannot
change name, image, user prompts etc. I created a new custom request offering "Incident request" and disabled "Generic Incident Request". But now the "Create a request" button throws an error (Image2) because Generic
Incident Request is not available anymore. How to map the button to a custom request offering?
    Thanks an regards

Thanks a lot for your replies. The blog entry is very interesting for having a diffrent "Request offering" mapped to the button instead of standard "Genereic Incident Request (EN)". But i now figured out a very easy solution for me.. i unpublished and disabled "Genereic
Incident Request (EN)" and then system takes the sealed "Genereic Incident Request" (without (EN)) that cannot be edited. I simply reenabled and published "Genereic Incident Request (EN)" and now i can modify this completely and its mapped to the button
by default. I think system always uses sealed "Genereic Incident Request" as fallback. Only constraint is that i cannot change the MP and Template in Request Offering "Genereic Incident Request (EN)". But template can be edited also.. so its fine for
me. Sorry for this kind of questions, i am new to the MSSCSM topic.
Maybe this will get more flexible in future releases of scsm.
    Thanks

  • ASCII export omits all Custom fields and Notes fields -

How do export ALL the fields from my BBerry 9700 to a "flat" CSV file?
I mean every single field - I use all fields extensively.

    Thanks for the reply.
I have recently upgraded a computer from XP to 7 and the user had Outlook 2003 installed. She does not have a license for Outlook so I installed Thunderbird.
She has a list of users in a mailing group that she exports every week into excel and this acts as a register for meetings she has.
In Outlook she could export to excel but only include the fields she wanted, so she would include the full name of the people attending the meetings, a box for week 1-5 where she can mark if the person attended the meeting and another custom field for something else.
I have shown her how to create a mailing list and export that list to a csv format to open in excel. This includes all of the unused fields though and she does not like that. She doesn't want to manually edit the spreadsheet either.
    Thanks.
