Having issues replacing cfusion_encrypt with encrypt()

we have a series of applications that use cfusion_encrypt() to encrypt query strings passed between and with in  applications.  We are currently running CF10 and are not experiencing any problems.  We are looking at upgrading to CF11 and are now experiencing a plethora of errors related to encrypt/decrypt.
the issue i am currently working on is related to encrypt a url.  no matter how I code the key, algorythm, or encoding, The encrypted portion of the url shows up as part of the link.
example:
<cfset theURL ="method=c.login&pid=validateLoginObj&vid=0&datasource=foo">
<cfset encryptedUURL ="http://localhost/1/2/inventory/index.cfm?encrypt(theURL, '123','CFMX_COMPAT','UU')">
<a class="nav_link" href="#encryptedUURL#">Inventory</a>
when the page is displayed, the user sees:
"WL.5KP1EY"3\'?=KH1* target="blank"> Inventory " as the link
(yes I shortened the encrypted string for demo purposes)
this sort of thing is through out 8 major applications
any suggestions on how to prevent this?

As @fergusondj correctly shows, your URL is incorrect because you encrypt all of it, so the http://localhost  part is not even working and the URL cannot even resolve. You need to tag on the encrypted part to the unencrypted URL prefix, otherwise the link won't work at all. That is the crux of the problem, so this is what the code should really look like:
<cfset theURL ="method=c.login&pid=validateLoginObj&vid=0&datasource=foo">
<cfset encryptedUURL = encrypt(theURL, '123', 'CFMX_COMPAT', 'UU')>
<a class="nav_link" href="http://localhost/1/2/inventory/index.cfm?<cfoutput>#URLEncodedFormat(encryptedUURL)#</cfoutput>">Inventory</a>
To ensure that the URL has all valid characters you can use URLEncodedFormat(). You can URLDecode() the other way around when you process the link.

Anyone having issues syncing iPhone 3GS with Microsoft Outlook 2007?  iTunes says it is syncing but it will not update calendar or contacts.  It just stopped working a few weeks ago.

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only person struggling with exact issue.  I've rebooted, upgraded, re-installed, pulled all my hair out as nothing works.
The biggest dissapointment with this thread is that nobody seems to have responded with a solution.
And yes I've managed to pull together enough intellegence to tick the box "sync to outlook" in iTunes - still nothing man.
Definately does not sync from phone to PC and is very hit and miss on PC to Phone.  In other words now running 2 seperate calendars - Not helpful Jan.

What format? What dimensions? Optimized or masters? Basically 2 6.3 megapixel RAW/NEF files may exceed attachment limits on some email servers and 4 will likely exceed the limit for most. It is difficult to make guesses without more specific info.

  • Having issues hot deploying with ebcc in Solaris environment.

I keep getting an error message when hot deploying a new webapp portal using ebcc.
The error message reads" Unable to add module. appname to application descriptor for portal app. I check the portalapptools and i see the webapp in the portal management.. I also see that it added this to the database under the Portal table.. It never actually added the webapplication under in the console.. This is where it gets stuck... Basicly the steps that are missing are adding a deployment descriptor and then the webapp.. I manually did it and it works.. the problem after that is that i need to execute sync.sh after i bounce the manage server or else i dont see the webapps under portal management..
So basicly the 2 questions are:
1..Why doesnt hot deploying work in unix using X11?
2.. Why do i need to execute sync.sh everytime after every bounce?
    Thanks,
    Oscar

    Oscar,
Are you running the EBCC on the same machine as your server? The hot
deploy mechanism of the EBCC forces you to have the server and the EBCC
on the same machine. While the files are sync'd to the database, the
web app files never get transfered. The deployer then is syncing to
    nothing.
Try running it all on one machine, locally or with a remote display.
Depending on your window manager some Java Swing applications like the
EBCC do not always display fonts well remotely but it should still work.

  • Having issues activating Fireworks with original serial#. already contacted CS

but the serial number does not appear from their end.
This serial number is from the original box and original disk envelope.
CS tells me that "The only way to use Fireworks is to activate it online."
CS says they cannot escalate it further.
CS says I should ask you to activate the serial number for me.

That is exactly what I told Customer Service.
But they insisted that someone here with the ability to do just that would respond (not you, apparently).
They also insisted that posting is the *only* way to get support for the old version that I have.
Their more recent system does not recognize the number I have.
I was doubtful, but posted anyway.
I will find out soon if they were correct or not.

  • Problem replacing black with a color

I am having difficulty replacing black with a specific color (any color).
I have a black and white image which is in PSD format and has RGB enabled.
I have followed the instructions to replace a color via the following method:
Enhance | Adjust Color | Replace Color
I select the black color, and I select a replacement color, e.g. Red.
The Red never replaces the black - the best it will do is turn it to some level of Grey.
    Any thoughts?
I have loaded the sample file to the following location:
    https://www.photoshop.com/user/j29102s/testfile.psd
    thank you

Here is a method using the brush tool.
    1. Make a new blank layer (background).
    2. Go to: Edit> Fill Layer and choose color (pick color)
change the mode to multiply and click ok.
    3. Add another blank layer (hills) and change the blending mode
to Lighter Color and then pick a color and paint the hills.
    4. Add another blank layer (river) and change the blending to lighter color.
        then paint the river.
    5. Repeat with a new layer for each of the things you want the same color.
    6. The advantage to using the brush tool with the layers and lighter color blending
mode is your painting does not have to be exact. You'll see what i mean when you start painting.
As you can gather by now there are a ton of different ways to do this in photoshop elements.
    I would try them all.

    Lindsay,
Your iBookG4 is still a pretty awesome Mac. Like already said, it has the power to run Leopard, but it depends if you have an internal DVD drive.
Then I suppose you have to add up the cost of the OS, perhaps another 512MB RAM, iLife 08 and replacements for any favourite apps that you currently use (Leopard breaks a lot of stuff, but Intel breaks even more). Compare it to the cost of a new MacBook, which wil have all of that included and be 3-4x faster too.
It also depends on what you want to achieve with your iBook. My PMG4 still cuts it today, I still use it in preference to my new Mac Pro, It's about the same age as your iBook, and I'll only stop using it when it becomes "painfully" slow. My 1 year old son currently uses the Mac Pro (parts for a Mac Pro are easier to replace than those for a PMG4).
I think your choice is simple, if you can a cheap copy of Tiger, use that, it'll get your iPod Touch up and running. It came in DVD and 4 CD version (by request).
Leopard will work for you too but a lot of the best eye-candy requires quite a meaty graphics card and you may need a RAM upgrade and replacement software - OS9 Classic is not supported in Leopard.

  • MPS 200 with J 4.6. We are having issues with encryption and unable to install latest, J 4.7.2

We have an MPS 200 with J 4.6. We are having issues with encryption and the tech assigned to our TAC case informed us that version J 4.7.2 would resolve the issue per release notes (confirmed). Unfortunately we have been unable to install latest, J 4.7.2. Every time we select the 4000j472.tar.gz file, the MPS displays software upgrade failed. We have used IE 8, 9 and 11 and have opened them up as much as possible, still no joy. We have unzipped the file, but do not know which file to select for the install.
    Would appreciate any assist.

As the others have suggested - download the file again - and check that the MD5 Checksum (with something like WinMD5) of what you have downloaded matches what it should be (for J4.7.2 is b328946e6ca24f181c937d90d8e5cc12).  Then upload the .tar.gz file as downloaded (wihtout extracting it).

My it guy has set all the Ricoh (The only brand of printers we use.) to enable Appletalk.  I am unable to see how to enable appletalk or an equivalent on Lion and have spent 3 hours now searching for it.  If I connect to the printer via TCP/IP it prints random characters.  I have a Ricoh working for another moddle but I am needing to use this machine.  HELP!!!!!

AppleTalk has been gone eons ago. Connect via USB and see what happens. If you are networking the printer then advise on your connection set up.

  • I'm not able to pair my iPad with my Logitech mini-Boombox. I was able to do this on my original iPad. I was having a problem on an unrelated matter, and the Apple store replaced it with a new device. Previously, all Bluetooth devices worked fine;

I'm not able to pair my iPad via Bluetooth with my Logitech mini-Boombox. I recently brought my iPad to the Apple Store for an unrelated problem, and they replaced it with a new device. The old device had no problem pairing with any of my Bluetooth devices. I'm only haveing the problem with my new device. I was able to pair it with my Apple wireless keyboard, but not the mini-Boombox. I think I've done everything that I've read in other forum posts: I've toggled the Bluetooth setting on and off; I've reset the iPad a couple times; I've turned off and on the mini-Boombox; I've recharged the mini-Boombox. What am I missing here, and how can I fix this?

Frequently asked questions about Apple ID
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5622
An Apple ID is a user name you use for everything you do with Apple. Creating an account for an Apple service, such as the iTunes Store or the App Store, creates an Apple ID. Apple ID allows you to access other Apple services. You don't have to create a new account for each service—just use your Apple ID.
How do I change my Apple ID Name or personal information?
You can change your Apple ID Name at My Apple ID. Click on Manage your Apple ID and sign in with your Apple ID name and password. Click Edit and enter the new information, then click Save Changes. Changes take effect immediately. You can also use My Apple ID to change your personal information, such as your mailing address or email address. See Changing the name you use for your Apple ID if you'd like more information.

  • I am still having issues with the TOC. I finally got several chapters and sections to show different pictures in the TOC, but have spent hours trying to figure out how to repeat it. This should be so simple. Is there an update? Please help us Apple.

I am still having issues with the TOC pictures. I got several chapter/section photos to show up, but can't seem to repeat this success. It is some mystery that happened during a time that I had practically given up. This should be such a simple thing. Drag and place a picture into the placeholder and it shows up in the TOC....right? Help, help help! want to get this thing done and it's taken two days of work just get some of the photos to show up. I am going to have to publish this ibook with no photos in several sections.....why can't this be simple? I have even had someone else spend hours trying to figure this out. This software is such a GREAT idea....come on...help with this little part of it.

I had the same problem myself. I got to the point where I couldn't replace the photo, of a new chapter, in the TOC. What I did was to duplicate an existing chapter that was working and was able to replace it's TOC's photo. I also found that if you try different areas of the photo you can sometimes get it to replace correctly. For example, instead of dragging the new photo to the middle of an existing photo, try dragging it to the right top corner.

I have been having issues with not receiving texts and voicemails daily, for a few months now. If I turn the phone completely off, when I turn it back on the messages will flood in from hours before. I can't be continually turning off my phone in case someone left me a message. How do I resolve this issue?

Wifi:  my Cell phone will remember 10 wifi connections.  So delete any you don't use often and your home wifi and try to enter home wifi again.
if it still won't connect to home wifi, call your internet provider for help.  You may need a newer router or different settings Or upgraded service.   Your phone seeks the best connection and will refuse lesser connections.
last resort.  Backup the phone.  Do a full reset, then restore as new with the backup.
if still not fixed, go back to apple and insist on repair or replacement.
HOWEVER.   voicemail is not a wifi issue, it's a carrier function, which is why the SIM card is a suspect.
