Having problems wirelessly printer with Airport and my Epson CX400

I recently bought an Airport Express and an Epson CX400. The printer works fine plugged in via USB to my computer but it doesn't work when plugged into my Airport Express. The odd thing is that my computer recognizes the printer in Print & Fax, however in the Epson Print Utility it doesn't and when I go to print a page I get the error, "printer is offline." I've tried re-installing the drivers and just about everything Apple suggested. I Googled the issue and I didn't find anything helpful or up-to-date. Has anyone had this problem and found a solution? A response would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem with an Epson CX9400Fax. My printer setting says Location: Base Station eb8bbb. I've done all the updates I can find, talked to the friendly people at my local computer store. No help there. I just upgraded this computer from OS X 10.3 to 10.5.6. The printer worked wirelessly then. I have another iBookG4 that prints wirelessly just fine. So, what's up? Turtle

The problem is not the router.. the issue is the vpn has put your computer in a different IP range with a different gateway. When you turn off the vpn the computer returns to local lan and can print.
Some vpn software allows you to set gateway to use local net instead of remote gateway or access to other webistes or local lan.
    Read up the issue.

    Cisco vpn client..

I did not search much.. just grabbed the first article I could find that explains the issue.
The whole point of the vpn is whilst it is connected your computer is NOT part of the Local Lan .. it is part of the Remote LAN via the vpn tunnel.
It is also a security risk using split tunnelling so often it will not be allowed.
Plug the printer directly into the computer via usb or whatever.. Local connection will work.. not local lan.

  • Problem to print with iPhoto and epson stylus photo RX620

I asked a question about the print with Iphoto. Larry gave some explainations but it still doesn't work. I can change the reglages with Safari, with Mail but not with Iphoto. So when I try to print photos, the reglage is standard and the result is bad. I would like to change the reglage, if i use glassy photo paper. With my PC, I have no problem to print with window or picassa. Thanks for your answer.

First I have no idea in the world what "reglage" is
But what ever printer specific options are available are supplied by the manafacturer's print driver and these are available on the last print window

  • Wireless printing with airport express/extreme?

i'm trying to figure out how to use either an express or an extreme (I have both) as a wireless print network of sorts. In the past I hooked up my modem to the extreme along with my printers, and was able to connect wirelessly to my computer; thus, wireless printing. i have since changed to google fiber (including that just in case that's part of the issue), and my modem/router is on a different level of the house than the rest of my computer setup, and i don't think it can be moved. All the solutions i've found require a computer to be directly connected to the modem/express for the initial setup, which isn't possible in this case as i don't have a laptop, just a desktop. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

It helps if you use specifics.
Are you talking about a USB printer?
What is the google modem router??
How and where do you hope to place the airport and printer? ie will it be plugged into the main router by ethernet?
There is no problems doing the setup over wireless.. as long as wireless reaches the computer. There is also no problem manually setting up the airport router in total isolation from the network.. once  setup you can place it back into the network.
    Typical method of manual backup.
Airport Utility shows "unexpected error - please try again" when connecting to Time Capsule

  • Wireless Printing with Airport Extreme just stopped

Strangely, it is not working on one of my 3 computers only! Was working with all 3, today it would not print from my iMac with Intel 2.33 GHz.
No problem recognizing the printer. When I print the printer comes on, the printer head moves normally but a blank page comes out.
I have tried all the suggestions from Apple under the heading "Top Searches", subheading "Aiport Extreme/Express wireless printing" and I have also repaired disk permissions but nothing has changed.
Why would wireless printing work in an older computer and not a newer one? I have all the latest updates in BOTH the iMac and my Power Book so I can't blame a Security Update etc.
    What now?
iMac Intel 2.33 GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.10)   Power Book G4, HP PSC 2410 All-in-one
iMac Intel 2.33 GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.10)   Power Book G4, HP PSC 2410 All-in-one

The exact problem for me. I also have checked all me settings, they seem to be
the way they should, but I can not get to print whatever.
I hope someone tell us what to do to make the printer work in an Airport
    Extreme connection

  • Windows XP Home & Wireless printing with Airport

I have a PC running Windows XP Home, a macBook connected wirelessly through an Airport Extreme and an HP Photosmart C3180 all-in-one printer. The printer is plugged (usb) into the airport extreme. The macBook prints wirelessly to the HP just fine. What I cannot get is the Windows PC to utilize the HP printer. The PC is a desk top and is not wireless. Am I trying to do something that is not possible? Does the HP printer need to be directly connected to the PC for it to work?

Are you trying to print without an Airport (Extreme or Express) Base Station? You won't be able to print without the specific equipment.
As far as trying to get the XP side of your MacBook to work, have you installed the latest Boot Camp available? The drivers for Boot Camp have been updated recently. Hope this helps!

  • Printing with airport and iPad

I have not been successful using my airport and iPad to print. Any ideas?

Printing from an iPad or iPhone
To print directly from an iPad you need an AirPrint - enabled printer on the same wireless network as the iPad. All AirPrint printers are wireless but not all wireless printers are AirPrint-enabled.
If you do not have an AirPrint printer, a number of workarounds exist that enable the use of any printer you normally use, even older ones that may predate AirPrint by decades. Search for the following products:
    handyPrint (Mac only, donation-supported)
Printopia (Mac only, $19.95 with free trial)
These are utilities you install on the Mac you normally use for printing, enabling it to act as an AirPrint print server. The Mac must be "on" but may be asleep for them to work. The iPad needs nothing else, no iOS apps need to be installed and no configuration is necessary. If your computer can print, so can the iPad, using one of these utilities on your Mac.
Equivalent utilities may exist for PCs but you'll have to perform your own research.
There are also iOS apps available from printer manufacturers that enable printing directly from your iPad to selected printers. Search for them in the App Store.
You can also buy this standalone hardware print server, bypassing the need for a computer altogether:
    http://www.lantronix.com/it-management/xprintserver/xprintserver.html
Otherwise you will need to buy an AirPrint printer or multifunction device. I recommend AirPrint compatible Brother printers and multifunction devices over those of other manufacturers.
Read user reviews and choose wisely.

  • Slow wireless printing with Airport Express

I have a Canon MP530 printer hooked up to an Airport Express for wireless printing. My wireless internet network is through an Airport Extreme. The only thing hooked into the Express is the printer, and it works but is extremely slow. It can take an hour to print one 15 page document. Any ideas how to fix this?

I'm not sure I understand your question, or at least I don't know how to tell connection speed with the utility. The express is set up as an extension to my current wireless network, although I'm only using it for printing.
I had a similar experience with a hard drive wirelessly connected to the Extreme - data transfer was ridiculously slow. Is this something to be expected with wireless connectivity?

  • Wireless Printing with AirPort Express

Hi all, I've had an AirPort Express on my network for a while now and have been printing to a Canon LBP2900i laser printer without any problems.
It seems that since the last firmware upgrade for the AirPort Express was released and installed I receive the error message 'this port type is not supported by your printer' when trying to print.
It worked fine before so I can't figure out why it should be different now.
    Any ideas?

I am using Airport Express with an Epson Photo R380 printer. When I use the Gutenprint 5.1.3 driver I get faded black type but I do have a connection to the printer and it prints.
When I use the Epson driver (and not Gutenprint as the Epson support page suggests not using it to solve the faded print problem) the printer shows up on the Airport Express but nothing happens when I send anything to it to print.
I've tried reloading the Epson driver etc - nothing seems to work.
Any suggestions on either how to get regular not faded printing using the Gutenprint driver or any connection at all using the Epson driver?

  • Printing with AirPort and Canon iP4300

I have a MacBook and AirPort. I want to be able to print wirelessly, but my attempts so far have been abortive.
Is there a simple, intuitive way to print (without using a cable)?

This printer does not have wireless printer capability. Therefore, one must use wired printing only.

  • How to setup wireless printing with AirPort Express?

Hey, I just bought a AirPort Express today and I can't figure out how to setup the usb wireless printing. Could someone explain in detail on how to do this? Thanks-Michael
    I have a Windows 7 64-bit PC and a Hp Deskjet F380 USB printer.

Download the install Bonjour Print Services for Windows v2.0.2
Run the program. Hopefully, your printer will be recognized.
If it is, "install" the printer and try to print.
Keep in mind that if you have an All-in-One type of device, that only the print function will be supported.
Advanced features like copy, scan, maintenance, etc are not supported. You will need to connect the All-in-One directly to your PC if you need those services.

  • Wireless Printing with Airport Extreme?

I have a iMac(OS-X 10.3.9) and an Airport Extreme (white model) I wish to hook up my Epson USB printer to the Airport Extreme and use the Airport as a wireless printer router. It says I can now print from any Mac on my network using OS 10.2.3 or later. However, I have a windows XP (boo! Hiss! long story) on my network also. Can I use the Airport Extreme to print from my Windows wireless machine too and how do you set it up?
    iMac   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    Hi Moosewood
I don't think the folk in this forum know too much about windows. I suggest you post in the
Windows Compatibility forum, and i hope you get a better response. If not try the Airport forum.
    good luck.

  • Wireless printing with Airport Express not working

I set up my Airport Express. I have an HP photojet printer and I can print from my Mac Air but the other 3 windows-based laptops that are connecting to Airport Express can't. Anyone know why that is or how to fix it?

You did install and run Bonjour for Windows on each PC, correct?
Does Bonjour "see" the printer...and it won't install....or.....does Bonjour not "see" the printer at all?
    Just in case.....

  • Wireless printing with airport extreme and uverse modem

    Hi,
I'm trying to hook up an airport express so that my PC Windows 7 and Mac Mini mid 2011 can print to both of my laser printers.
The dell is network attached and the oki is network attached as well as usb attached directly to the express.
Both systems see the printers but when i send a print job from the MAC it just errors out.  If i send it from the pc like normal then it still works ok.
I also can't see either printer from my iPad 2 running iOS 5.0.1
Right now I'm running a UVerse 3800 router/modem and i have the airport express ethernet connected to one of the lan ports of the uverse router.
All printer drivers are current as well as the MAC software.
    Help

The dell is network attached and the oki is network attached as well as usb attached directly to the express.
If both printers are Network-Ready, then there is no need to connect either to the AirPort Express Base Station (AX) by USB. Being Network-Ready, these printers have their own built-in print servers which should be controllable by their front-panel interface and/or via a web-based interface.
I also can't see either printer from my iPad 2 running iOS 5.0.1
Unless both printers are AirPrint-enabled, no iOS device will be able to print to them directly.

  • Real wireless printing with airport extreme

My D-link 615 router and Brother HL-3070CW work flwalessly for two years.
I decided to get an AEBS when D-link gave up. I thought I will be able to connect my printer to the AEBS as easily as I did with the D-link.
I have a sony desktop/windows 7. I cannot connect my printer via USB port. I need a way to wirelessly connect my printer to the AEBS.
My problem is that the printer cannot detect the wireless network after I installed the station. I tried to reinstall the printer but it did not work.
I really like the dvice, but I cannot keep it if I cannot connect the printer wirelessly to four computers. I do not have a wired netwrok.
Is there any way or link or instruction that can help me solve this issue. I apprecite your input and let me know if I need to add any missing details.

    Anyone?
