Headstart 6i Configuration

I am using NT2000 SP1 , Apache 1.3.12, Forms 6i Server and I have configured the aliases in the http.conf file as follows in accordance with the installaion instructions:
Alias /HSD65-HTML/ "F:\hsd65\html\"
Alias /HSD65-JAVA/ "F:\hsd65\java\"
Alias /HSD65-ICONS/ "F:\hsd65\icons\"
Alias /HSD65-CDM/ "F:\hsd65\cdm\"
Alias /HSD65-HELP/ "F:\hsd65\doc\"
Alias /FORMS60JAVA/ "F:\ora6i\forms60\java"
Alias /HSD65-CGI/ "F:\hsd65\html\"
<Directory "HSD65-CGI">
Options ExecCGI
AllowOverride None
Order allow,deny
Allow from all
</Directory>
The Headstart home is F:\hsd65
The Oracle Home for the Forms Server is F:\ora6i which also the default home
When I launch the server install form I get the following message:
Forbiddden
You don't have permission to access /hsd65-cgi/ on this server.
If I change the alias
Alias /HSD65-CGI/ "F:\hsd65\html\" to
Alias /HSD65-CGI/ "F:\hsd65\html\/"
I get the message
"Ca86TJZB from apsrvdev (my server)
What would you like to do with this file?
Open this file form its current location
Save this file to disk "
with the second option selected
What I am doing wrong
null

I solved the problem by setting the virtaul directory for the cgi to ScriptAlias instead of Alias.
However, when I launch the form now it aks me to donload Jinitiator everytime.

  • Headstart Configuration on 9iAS

    Hi,
I have installed the Oracle 817 database, the Designer 6i
Repository on the database and 9i Application Server . The
Headstart Client and Server side installation was also carried
out on the same machine. When I try to run any of the Headstart
applications on the Apache HTTP server, it gives me the error
message "HTTP 404 Not Found : Page not found " . I did set up
the virtual paths in the httpd.conf, as documented in the
installation file , but am still unsure as to why it's giving me
    the error.
    Any suggestions...

It sounds like the Apache server can't find the [hsd home]\html
directory. This error can mean that your Alias and Script Alias
in the httpd.conf file are missing or set incorrectly.
These are the settings I have in my own httpd.conf file. My
Oracle home is d:\orant and my Headstart home is d:\orant\hsd65.
    Alias /hsd65-html/ "d:\orant\hsd65\html/"
    Alias /hsd65-java/ "d:\orant\hsd65\java/"
    Alias /hsd65-icons/ "d:\orant\hsd65\html\icons/"
    Alias /hsd65-help/ "d:\orant\hsd65\doc/"
    Alias /hsd65-cdm/ "d:\orant\hsd65\hsu\cdm/"
    Alias /forms60java/ "d:\orant\forms60\java/"
    Alias /forms60_output/ "d:\temp\"
    Alias /jinitiator/ "d:\orant\jinit/"
    Alias /dev60html/ "d:\orant\tools\web60\html/"
    Alias /dev60temp/ "d:\orant\tools\web60\temp/"
    ScriptAlias /hsd65-cgi/ "d:\orant\hsd65\html/"
You also need to be sure to update the
    [hsd home]\html\hsdcgi65.cfg file to your
version of jinitiator. You should have a 'jinit'directory under
your oracle home. It will contain a jinit.exe file. Run the
file to install jinitiator. After the install, find the
jinit-version.txt file and use cut/paste to put the correct
    values in the hsdcgi65.cfg file.
For example, I am now using jinitiator 1.1.8.11 and had to update
    the following 3 settings.
; Parameters related to the version of JInitiator.
    jinit_classid=clsid:86ecb6a0-400a-11d5-b638-00c04faedb18
    jinit_exename=jinit.exe#Version=1,1,8,11
    jinit_mimetype=application/x-jinit-applet;version=1.1.8.11

  • Install of Headstart 6.5.3.0 for 9i on Linux

I am installing Headstart 6.5.3.0 for 9i. Our application server is on Linux. The installation and migration documents all seem to assume that the mid-tier application server is on Windows.
What needs to be done in order to install on a Linux application server from a Windows client?
We currently develop our applications on Windows then transfer our forms and libraries to the Application server and recompile. Just not sure what all needs to be on the application server to fully take advantage of Headstar

    Dan,
This is a quite common development architecture. If you have your forms server running, than deploying a Headstart application is no different from any other application. If you also want to configure the headstart utilities, administration and foundation application, then you need to configure some Aliases in your forms90.conf. If you use the latest release (6.5.3.0 for 9i), there some sample configuration files in the Environment_Setup/9iasr2conf directory.

  • PVCS/Headstart revision substitution not working

We've been following the instructions on p95 of the Headstart documentation, using a string of $Revision::xxxxxxxxxxx$ to get PVCS revision number substitution on our modules. This doesn't seem to be working correctly - sometimes the substitution takes place, sometimes it doesn't (in standard text files, not binary). We're using PVCS V6.5.
There's nothing in the PVCS documentation to suggest that a revision string of anything except $Revision$ will work. Why does the Headstart documentation state otherwise? Does it refer to functionality that used to be available at an earlier release of PVCS? It also seems to be saying that using this string will prevent the corruption of binary files - the PVCS documentation clearly states that keyword substitution should never be used with binary, as corruption may result.

    Cheryl,
I am not sure what you mean by sometimes the substitution takes places and sometimes it doesn't. The expansion of a keyword is depended of a setting in your configuration file (see file type tab on configure tab).
You can enable/disable the expansion per file type extension (even using a wild card).
Normally once you have enabled it for a fmb it should work for all fmb's. However it may not work for already checked-in fmb's: if you add a keyword later on it may not expand. You can use wild card here (undefined) but it takes a specific file type extention first. You have disabled it for fmb and enabled it for (undefined) then it will not expand.
Please let us know if this solves your problem: verifying the keyword enabling/disabling per file type.
In addition you mentioned the disrecommendation of PVCS/VM to use keywords in binary files. Expansion in binary files with the fixed lenght, as you do, has always worked in previous releases. It still works in 6.5 and 6.6 but pvcs/vm no longer supports it officially, what can I say?

  • Installation requirements - Headstart 6.5.3.0 for 9i

    Hi,
In the installation guide: INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR ORACLE HEADSTART 6.5.3.0 for 9i, one of the requirements is : Oracle 9iAS infrastructure 9.0.2.0.1.
Is it really necessary to have the Oracle 9iAS infrastructure or is the Oracle 9iAS Forms/Reports services enough ?
    Thank you,
    Chad.

  • Webutil and Headstart

    Hi,
I'm configuring webutil on my oracle 9ias release 1.0.2.2.2a. If i run a config without webutil configuration, my forms runs normally. But, if I run a form on web with webutil config, I receive a popup alert from FORM with no message inside.
There's a special config for webutil with headstart?
    Thanks.
    Christian

No special configuration needed for webutil in combination with Headstart. Just follow the manual and everything should work.

    Meine

  • Headstart 6i installation - HTTP client side servers?

We are performing the headstart 6i client side install and are confused as to the client software requirements.
Is it necessary to install a HTTP listener on each client that is to be used for development. Or can we use the server based listener(Apache).
The installation document specifies the installation of WEB DB as an option and indicates that this is shipped with Designer 6i, however this does not appear to be contained within the Designer 6i CD's
    Rgds, Pierre

It is not necessary to install and configure a HTTP Listener/Forms Server installation on each (developer)client. Yet it can be useful in a number of cases, for instance when your application server is Unix based.
WebDB itself is not shipped with Designer 6i, but when you install Des6i it will also install a Forms 6i runtime environment, and this will prompt you with a question whether you want to install a 'trial' version of Forms Server. The WebDB Listener service is a part of this Forms Server installation.
    Kind Regards,

  • Headstart using Forms servlet implementation

I'm trying to configure forms server with headstart 6.5 using the servlet implementation. Almost everything is working fine, except one detail.
The formsweb.cfg file has "%HSD65_HOME%" values (e.g. the term tag), which must be substituted by the value in the registry. When using CGI, the substitution is made. The servlet implementation results into a substitution of "".
Can anyone explain why this isn't working (bug)?
    Thanx,
    Patrick van der Schot

    Peter,
I've tried both suggestions. They didn't work. Reading windows registry values is not supported in the standard Java libary because it's not portable. There are native methods like the implementation JAWIN, an open-source project for interop between Java and Win32 (http://staff.develop.com/halloway/JavaTools.html). Putting the HSD65_HOME setting in the configuration files of the webserver doen't work either.
I've used a workaround to get things working. I've substituted the full path into the term tag instead of using term=%HSD65_HOME%/hst/admin/qmsrf65w.res.
Don't forget to change the FormsServlet.InitArgs settings to use the corresponding headstart basejini.htm and hsdcgi65.cfg
For servlet implementations, the baseHTML, baseHTMLJInitiator, and baseHTMLIE
tags are replaced with the values specified in the FormsServlet.initArgs file!

  • Getting Headstart to work with 9iAS Release 2

We have been working with Headstart6i through web forms using forms server that comes with 9iAS 1.0.2.2.2a on windows 2000.
We moved to a 9i database and 9iAS Release 2. The new Forms server is running but I can't get Headstart to work through the web with the new 9iAS.
I can get the starting page (hsustart.htm) and save the configuration of the new server, but when I hit Lanuch, I get an internal error.
[Fri Aug  2 09:56:16 2002] [error] (8)Exec format error: exec of /mnt/rubella/apps/Oracle/hsd65/html/hsdcgi65 failed
[Fri Aug  2 09:56:16 2002] [error] [client 10.1.1.31] Premature end of script headers: /mnt/rubella/apps/Oracle/hsd65/html/hsdcgi65
I have checked the configuration files and they seem to be O.K.
I am not sure if Headstart will work at all with the new app server. If it will work what do I need to setup differently?

It seems that you don't have comm.jar in your classpath.

  • Airport can no longer read or write the configuration of Time Capsule

I have a MacBook Pro running OSX 10.8.3 and maintained with all available patches. I have also a Time Capsule with version 7.6.3 of the firmware. I use AirPort 6.2. So everything seems to be updated with the latest versions.
This has really been a good setup for nearly a year now, but earlier this month Time Machine suddenly stopped to work and could no longer do backups to the Time Capsule. I have tried to factory reset the Time Capsule several times, but I still get problems when writing the configuration to the Time Capsule. I get an error message saying "An error occurred while updating the configuration".
Airport is furthermore not able to detect the Time Capsule correctly anymore, so I have to configure it by entering the IP address. But after setting up WLAN, disks, etc. and enhanching the security, I just receive the error message when I try to write the config. The Internet connection works perfectly anyway, both via cable and wireless.
    Anyone got any tips?

Do the setup by ethernet in full isolation from the network.
Start from a full factory reset.
I would recommend you take the firmware back to 7.6.1 or even earlier if the TC is older than 12months. 7.5.2 was very reliable. All these bugs started with 7.6 and the change to Lion.
I would also recommend installing 5.6 utility.
How to load 5.6 into ML.
    1. Download 5.6 for Lion.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1482
Click to open the dmg but do not attempt to install the pkg.. it won't work anyway.
    2. Download and install unpkg.
    http://www.timdoug.com/unpkg/
Run unpkg on the desktop.. it is very simple.. drag the AirPortUtility56.pkg file over to unpkg.. and it will create a new directory of the same name on the desktop.. drill down.. applications utilities .. there lo and behold is Airport utility 5.6 .. drag it to your main utilities directory or just run it from current location.
You cannot uninstall 6.1 (now 6.2 if you updated) so don't try.. and you cannot or should not run them both at the same time.. so just ignore the toyland version.. the plastic hammer.. and start using 5.6.. a real tool.

  • Configuring requirement : ordered item to absorb cost of free goods

    Hello Friends,
I need to configure this in SAP SD.
The main item should accumulate the cost of the free goods.
I have  set the cumulative indicator and deactivated pring for this item.
Do i still need to configure the stock value for the free goods as cost free item? Or is this step only applicable for
    another scenario, like,
If I were to activate Pricing such that free goods is displayed as subitem and VPRS configured as cost and discount set to 100%
    1. Set  Item category to TANN using FREE usage   AND
    2. use condition type RL00 with requirement 55.
    3. use pricing type B.
    regards
    Ravi

Read this SAP help at http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/dd/55fa4e545a11d1a7020000e829fd11/frameset.htm and the topic Free Goods in Sales and Distribution Processing for details.
Also go through each step of the configuration of the path at SPRO->Sales and distribution->basic functions->free goods.

  • Partner application configuration is missing error on SSO login page

We have APEX 3.1.2 setup as a partner application and an application within APEX setup to use SSO for authentication. Following a link to the APEX application redirects to the Single Sign-On page, as it should, but it also shows "Error: The partner application configuration is missing or expired." I type in my password and username, click the Login button, and (if I entered my username and password correctly, of course!) then the APEX application is shown. So, I cannot figure out why we're getting the no_papp_err error and I have not found any solutions to that issue on Metalink or anywhere else on the Internet. Any ideas? I'm concerned that we have a misconfiguration somewhere that is causing this error and will affect any other partner application we setup in the future.
We're on Oracle Portal 10.1.4, SSO 10.1.2, and SSL is setup on both infra and mid tiers.

Did you try checking the partner application entries on the SSO-login server page?
please login as orcladmin or some other user with membership in, i beleive, iasadmins group. verify that for this partner application, what you see here corresponds to the application URL. it looks like your login page call may have issues. so check for login url too.
also check the ORASSO.WWSSO_LS_CONFIGURATION_INFO$ for entries corresponding to Apex application.

  • SharePoint Foundation 2013 - Search Configuration Issue - 2 App Servers and 2 Front-End Servers

    Hi,
We have a SharePoint Foundation 2013 with SP1 Environment.
In that, we have 2 Front-End Servers and 2 App Servers. In the Front-End Servers, the Search Service is stopped and is in Disabled state and in the 2 App Servers in One App Server, Search is Online and in another Search is Starting but goes to Stopped sooon
    after.
Originally, we had only 1 App Server and we were running our Search Service and Search Service Application in that. Now since the index location became full and we were unable to increase the drive there, we added one more App Server and now the issue is
Search is not properly getting configured in either of these App servers. What we want to do is run Search only in the new App Server, because we have a lot of storage space for Index locations here, but in the older App Server, not run Search at all.  We
tried keeping the Search Service disabled and ran the below PowerShell Scripts, but none of the ones are working. These scripts are creating the Search Service Application, but the error of "Admin Component is not Online", "Could not connect
to the machine hosting SharePoint 2013 admin component" is coming up.

Can I get some help please?
    Karthick S

    Hi Karthick,
For your issue, could you provide the
detail error message of ULS log  to determine the exact cause of the error?
For SharePoint 2013, by default, ULS log is at
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\LOGS
For troubleshooting your issue,  you can try to run the SharePoint Products Configuration Wizard on your WFE servers and run the script for configuring the search service on SharePoint
    Foundation:
    [string]$farmAcct = "DOMAIN\service_Account"
    [string]$serviceAppName = "Search Service Application"
    Function WriteLine
    Write-Host -ForegroundColor White "--------------------------------------------------------------"
    Function ActivateAndConfigureSearchService
    Try
    # Based on this script : http://blog.falchionconsulting.com/index.php/2013/02/provisioning-search-on-sharepoint-2013-foundation-using-powershell/
Write-Host -ForegroundColor White " --> Configure the SharePoint Foundation Search Service -", $env:computername

    $searchService = $searchServiceInstance.Service

    $types = @([string],

    [Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPIisWebServiceApplicationPool]$adminPool)
    $methodInfo = $searchService.GetType().GetMethod("CreateApplicationWithDefaultTopology", $bindings, $null, $types, $null)
    $searchServiceApp = $methodInfo.Invoke($searchService, $values)

  • Problem when we created the managed server to configure different ports.

I am trying to configure different ports for admin console and my communication service as we can’t share admin port to the outside world.
So that only admin can access admin console using admin port.
And out side clients can access my webapplication using different port.
For this i have created the managed server in weblogic.and I deployed the application on managed server.
Now admin server is running on 8001 port and my Communication Service application is running on 7001 port.
But when I tried to configure MBeans related to myCommunicationServiceApplication those were disapper on admin console. And the other wlng services are appearing on admin console.
    1. Since my application deployed on managed server MBeans registration happened from myapplication hence it’s disappear on admin console.
Now If I want to configure Mbeans (related to my communication service) how can I configure it?
    2. My communication service using configurationStore module and other wlng services.
When I tried to start my application on managed server I got the below error:
    <Apr 28, 2009 12:22:44 PM IST> <Error> <Deployer> <BEA-149231> <dscp11166.TechMahindra.com> <Unable to set the activation state to true for the application 'wlng_nt_qualcomm_active_mediation [Version=1.0]'.
com.bea.wlcp.wlng.api.storage.configuration.ConfigurationException: Configuration store module is not available.
    3. I tried to target all wlngResources to manged server by editing config.xml file.
Then all wlng services disappears on admin console. If this is the case how can I configure container/account services on wlng?
I have created the Basicweblogic domain.
Below is the config.xml for reference.
    "QualcommServer" is managed server name.
Can any one please suggest me how to configure this kind of scenarios?

    Dear Nariharan,
Today I faced a simlar issue, and this SAP Note helped me fix it: 1966807 - Duplication of AET table records in change processing
In my case, cardinality of AET table was 1:1, and I was getting duplicate PARENT_ID every time when trying to create a subsequent service request for my activity.
