The only way to change it is to contact Apple support by either phone or email. I had this same problem and the only way to change it is to get ahold of a Apple Support person:p

It sounds like you want to change your iCloud email address but cannot remember the password to do so. You should be able to reset the password for your account with this article:
iCloud: Change your iCloud password
Change your iCloud (Apple ID) password
Go to the My Apple ID website (appleid.apple.com) and follow the instructions to reset your Apple ID password.
For more information, see the Apple Support article Apple ID: Changing your password.
After changing your iCloud password, make sure you update it on all your devices and in any email apps you use to get your iCloud email.
On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Go to Settings > iCloud, then tap your iCloud account.

If you're talking about the ID for iCloud, you'll need to set up a new iCloud account with your new ID (since the other one belongs to your friend), then migrate your data to the new account. To do this, go to Settings>iCloud and turn all synced data (contacts, calendars, etc.) to Off. When prompted choose to keep the data on your iPhone. After everything is off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. Then set up a new iCloud account with your new ID, then turn syncing your data with iCloud back to On. When prompted, choose Merge. This will upload the data to your new account.
If you're talking about changing the ID for purchasing, go to Settings>Store, tap the ID at the bottom, sign out, sign back in with your new ID.

How to reset your Apple ID security questions
Go to appleid.apple.com and click on the blue button that says 'Manage Your Apple ID'.
Log in with your Apple ID and password. If you have forgotten your Apple ID password, go to iforgot.apple.com first to reset your password with a password recovery email.
Go to the Password & Security section on the left side. Then underneath the security questions click on the link that says 'Forgot your answers? Send reset security info email to [email]'. This will generate an automated e-mail that will allow you to reset your security questions.
If that doesn't work, or there is no rescue email link available, then:
click on 'Temporary Support PIN' that is in the bottom left side, and generate a 4-digit PIN for the Apple Account Security Advisor you will be contacting later.
Next, go to getsupport.apple.com. If you see a message that says 'There are no products registered to this Apple ID, simply click on 'See all products and services'.

They are often pretty impatient with these questions.
You will need to contact iTunes Support for this. Be prepared to supply the answers that you do know, plus some additional personal information that only you will know.

Click iTunes > iTunes Store > Other iTunes topics and questions. Eventually you get to a point at which you can compose a thoughtfully worded email. Apple will respond via email within a day. Be sure to check your spam folder for this reply.
Normal business hours apply, so you may have to wait until Monday. They will ask you for more personal information, and then you will have to wait for another reply which will provide instructions for resetting your password as well as answers to the security questions. Good luck!
