Help an old fart pick a tv. Can I say fart?
Haven't bought a tv in 15 or more years. Currently have a 27" tube Toshiba which is about dead. Space is critical. Our custom made entertainment center with doors that close is exactly 30" wide. We don't want to rip the cabinet apart or rebuild. Looking at TVs, I couldn't find a "pick the width" option. It looks like we have to pick a model and then look at specs to find the physical size. I believe a 37-40" TV will be about this width. Since all TVs have a wide format, I don't think I need to worry abut height. For sure I dont need to worry about depth.
Some things to know about us. Sitting in our chairs the front of the TV would be about 12' away. We have cable and don't do things like Wifi or games on TV or plan on having computer connected to the TV. We just want to watch and occasionally put in a DVD. It might be nice to DVR system but that is a separate question. I'm not sure about LCD, Plasma, HDTV or LED. We' were happy with the old Toshiba tube job and we don't need an "entertainment experience" or the latest and greatest.
If you haven't guessed by now, we are not teenagers. It might be nice to have something last for 10 yrs and we don't really care about the lastest technology as long as it works.
Oh yeah and we don't want to spend a lot of money. Any suggestions?

That was not my experience the one time I walked into an HH Gregg. All of their products were significantly overpriced, and I found myself swarmed by salespeople that would not leave me alone the second I walked in the door. HHG is one of those "high pressure" retailers where the employees are on commission and will put LOTS of pressure on you to buy, buy, buy.
I don't know if BBY's salespeople are on commission or not, but given the low pressure I get when I go into a store, I assume they are not. NEVER trust salespeople in a store where the staff operate on commission.
To the OP: 37-40" may be too large for you. My parents had similar issues - an entertainment center with severe width limitations, although I don't remember what our exact width limit was. I know that it was pretty close to the size of a 27" tube TV. I tried as hard as I could to get them to ditch it (There's a reason enclosed entertainment centers are unheard of these days), but they insisted on keeping it. In their case, a 32" Sony was just a little too large to fit "flat" into the center, but in their case they had a rotating base that would slide out - the TV would fit if it were rotated a bit and then slid back in. For watching, they slide it out.

If your camera is registering with Windows as a hard drive, you can still get the photos off of it.
In Starter Edition, select the little camera icon, and instead of choosing "From Camera Mobile Phone or Card Reader" choose "From Files and Folders"
Then, use the windows dialog box that opens to navigate to your phones "Hard Drive"

Because of a nasty virus on my computer I had to change my apple ID and password. When I went to update my apps. on my I phone 4s the box said I need to sign in to I tunes. The ID it had in the box was my old apple ID and I can't remember the password. I can't find any where in my phone settings that will let me change my I tunes ID although I have a new apple ID and password that I used to get on this site but I can't change it on my phone. Please help.

Thank you for the help. Every app on my phone was downloaded using my old I-tunes ID. I just hope that they will re-download under my new ID because I still can't change it on my phone. In order to change to the new ID it says I have to sign out from the old ID and change to the new one. My problem is that I don't remember my password to be able to sign out from my old ID. Then the phone says it can change my password through e-mail and I agree but I never get an e-mail at my old address or the new one.

My Ipod was originally set up as a sub-account of a firends. After that, I got an Iphone and set up my own Apple account. I just got a new Ipod, and now can't sync my old Itunes to it. Can anyone help me? I'm even OK with deleting the old Itunes account, and staring over. I just really want to get the new Ipod under my own account, and be able to use it...
There is no such thing as a "sub-account." Also, you probably mean iTunes library, when you say "account." Your "account" in iTunes is your Apple ID, which is what you use to sign in to the iTunes Store to make purchases. iPods are associated with an iTunes library, not with an Apple ID (iTunes Store account). You'll need to clarify...
So, this is what I think you are saying. You previously shared an iTunes library on a computer with your friend. Your old iPod was synced to that iTunes library.
You got an iPhone, and at that time, you set up your own iTunes library. Is that on a different computer? How does the iPhone affect your question about the iPod?
You got a new iPod. What is your "old iTunes"? Is that the iTunes library you shared with your friend? -

You might consider restoring to factory specs, as detailed in the booklet that shipped witht the machine, using the Setup Assistant on first boot, and then reinstalling those new programs. i've not moved pictures, so you could always give that a shot.

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

Please help!Go to iTunes Settings, on the Devices tab you will see a list of all available backups. If you don't see the one you're looking for there it doesn't exist to restore your phone to it. Also, if you want to prevent iTunes from syncing automatically you can check "Prevent...from syncing automatically" on the Devices preferences screen.
If you do see the backup you are trying to restore to listed here, you should be able to right-click on the name of your phone and select it to restore from. When you right-click on your phone you should see these choices, where "iPhone" is the name of your phone: -

I deleted my old Email and only used my new Email to set up the Mail app on my laptop. And the old Email is completely dead, hotmail.com says the Email no longer excists when I try to sign back in to it however my Emails remain saying 'Sent from Jordan [*old Email*].

I have created a new Apple ID to match the new account but now I can't sign into iCloud on our phones or computer with the old Apple ID. I have an old IPID touch and just bought a anew Nano. If I downoload the latest version of Itunes for my Nano, will I lose all of my osns stored in my old version of Itunes and can I still use my Touch (with my current songs on it) with the new version of Itunes? In the past when I downloaded a new version, I lost my songs on my Touch. Thank you for any help any one might offer.

My old computer has died, how can i get all my tunes on to my new computer and ipod?

If the computer isn't functioning because of a operating system issue, but the computer itself still works, then it's possible to boot from a operating system on a cd or USB stick and transfer the files.
If the boot drive physically works (and it hasn't been encrypted), the files can be removed if the computer doesn't work as well. (more on that later as it costs more money)
For the first option your going to need to create a bootable USB or CD. I'm going to go with the easiest, a 2-4 GB USB thumb drive (nothing else on it of course)

Now from the first menu there you select Ubuntu 10.10 and check the box to download the ISO of Ubuntu Linux. Wait for it to finish.
Now #2 browse to the ISO you just downloaded.
Now #3 you select the EXACT drive letter of the USB (look under My Computer/Computer)
Leave "show all drives" and "persistence" alone. Check "format drive" (be sure the drive letter is correct!)
Click "Create"
Once you got that done, stick the USB in the back of the computer (if a tower) and hook up a external USB hard drive. (nothing else on it.)
Now you need to find the BIO's boot key for your problem computer, DELL it's F2 to enter the BIO's (list at link)

Navigate around in there and set the USB as the first boot option (or cd if you got a boot cd). Save the option.
Reboot the computer and it should boot off the USB. "Try Ubuntu/run from USB/CD" Don't install.
Once your in Ubuntu, you can easily go to the Places Menu and Select Computer, see all the drives and access your ENTIRE iTunes folder. Transfer this entire folder to the external USB drive.
Also you can grab your pictures and anyrthing else while your in there.
Now the second option is potentially destructive, if the computer doesn't work at all mechanically. Disconnect any power from the computer. Then you can remove the internal hard drive, use a powered IDE/SATA to USB adapter and plug it right into your new computer just like a external drive. However I would do a malware scan first.
Lastly if you got your iTunes Folder onto the new computer (replacing the new iTunes folder with the old). You need to open the XML file in a Text program that has "Find and Replace" ability. So you can correctly fix the partial pathnames from the old computer to the new computer.
This little step preserves all your playlists.
Once you got your content over, you should File > Backup Library to disk and feed it DVD-R's or use a external drive.
As you know, the iPod only sync's content one way, to the iPod. (exception for iTMS bought stuff on the iPod can be synced back into iTunes with the correct account enabled.) You might need to check iLounge for current third party software that reverses all content form a iPod back into iTunes.
Finally if this is all above your head, have a professional do it for you. Apple will not re-issue downloads, backing up is your responsibility.
