HELP - BB Curve 9320 Contact List Problem

hi , please help me resolve this..
previously my Curve 9320 was crash after update Whatsapp app..after restart, got error '102' - RESET..then after the problem resolved ( flash again using Desktop Software ) and i restore contact list from backup file, my problem happens..
from my backup file, i got 800++ contacts, but on my phone there was just 124.! where's my other contact from my previous phone books..?

Open your BlackBerry Address Book > press the Menu key > Filters.

I have exactly the same problem on my ipad. It is happening on only some contacts but, as with you, when I delete one of the contacts on the ipad, the second ipad contact and the contact on the imac are also deleted. This is even the case when I have differentiated the two contacts on the ipad and can see the one I have deleted on the ipad is not the same one as is then deleted on the imac.

Messenger contact list problems...HELP!

Hi all...hoping someone can help.
I have an 8320 Curve. I use the BB messenger often but am having a particularly frustrating problem.
One of my friends use to be on my contact list for the BB messenger, but one day she was just gone. So I sent her an invite and it would say pending and she would get it on her end and accept but I never see her in my contact list. We tried her sending me the friend request and I accept but I still don't see her on my contact list.
what's up?
I do have others on the list and have no trouble with them and nor does she.

It sounds like possibly the request isn't making it all the way back to the device when you're adding your friend. I suggest checking out this article to see if it helps you..

Curve 9320 issue (hang problem)

Hello, i have purchased curve 9320 3G 1 month back but i couldn't use this more than 1 day, i use to freeze frequently, after inserting sim, it was running fine for 10-12 Hrs, after than when i received incoming call, it showed me the number and contact on screen but i could not received that, all the key got freeze that time and i had to hard boot that device by fetching the battery out, i also went to BB service center 2 times but they said its a normal antivirus problem, i m surprised how could a virus may get in to device as neither connected it to internet, BBM services nor to any PC through data cable.

Whenever you feel any problem always the first and best practice is to perform a Battery Pull Restart by removing the Battery while your Smartphone is Powered On , then wait for atleast a min. and reinsert it back .your device may take a long reboot . Rebooting in this manner fixes most issues within our BlackBerry Device , you won't loose any data while doing so .
Also be sure that you're closing all application correctly , If we press and hold the Menu for a few seconds, it will pop up a screen which will show all running programs in the background ,generally five will always there ( Home, BBM, Message,Phone , Browser ) you can always look if any other apps. are running in the background. Always try to Close Applications Correctly - Avoid using the End key to close applications as this simply minimizes the application and leaves it running in the background. Instead, press the Menu key, select the Close or Exit option to exit the application.Don't leave your Browser open on any active webpage when not in use.
If programs run in the background it may lead to device freezing and also quick battery drainage.Please have a look at this Article I am sure it will help you a lot in overcoming your problems :

Contact list problems after update to OS 10.2.1.537

Hi all,
I have run into issues with my address book since I updated my BB Z10 to the new OS 10.2.1.537.
My contacts are all synced with my Gmail contacts, and the syncing still works fine. However, they are displayed in the adress book on my Blackberry in a weird and random way. Some contacts are displayed perfectly fine as e.g. "Ms Jane Doe". In others, however, the institution at which the people work is displayed as part of the name, e.g. "Ms Doe Some Institute". In one case the display name of the contact was even changed to a date-time-coding (the time I last contacted that person?).
I checked the entries via "Edit" and they seem to be OK, first and middle names, surname, title, institutions and alike are all stored in their respective fields. They are only displayed wrongly in the contact list. Moreover, some contacts are displayed wrongly and some are not, and I did not find any one particular thing that any of the two groups has in common and that could trigger the error: In both groups I find entries with many (e.g. websites, Skype names, several phone numbers) or few (only one number or e-mail adress) entry-fields, as well as entries which have links to LinkedIn accounts etc., and so forth. So this problem occurs randomly?
I also figured out that "editing" a contact by just going to "Edit" and then saving without making any actual changes fixes the display issue. However, I would not want to manually go through that procedure for 200+ contacts. Also, since the problem seemingly occurs randomly, I have no idea whether it will happen again with new contacts in the future or even re-occur in already fixed contacts when I edit them in Gmail, upon the normal regular syncing, or after restarting the phone.
Does somebody else have these problems as well? And does somebody have an idea what might be the problem and even better how to fix it?

Q5 contact list problems

Hey im havin problem with my contact list. I updated my os into 10.2.0.424 but then the problem showed up. I have 5 or6 contacts under the same name and just one of them is filled with numbers, the other ones are just names and they are empty. I tried to link contacts but after some time they just became lots of them. " i had 300 contact entry , but now i have 845 "

You would need to remove the account on the phone, then remove the contacts from wherever they are coming from (outlook, google, whatever) then add back the account.
You need to make sure you do this for every account in case more than one are reponsible.
How many contacts do you believe you should have?
Anyway add the most important accounts back first and wait a while before adding the next one (say facebook, twitter etc.) to see if you can catch which service is responsible,

I just got a new 9790 and moved my data from my old 8520 to the 9790. I had 3 e-mail accounts, one of them is GMAIL ([email protected]). The GMAIL account installed itself as default contact list. I have no other contact lists. I want to get rid of GMAIL as default contact list, but can not find a way without wiping the full 9790 data.
Is there any way to get a "Defaul" Contact list, a "default" calendar?
This behaviour is because when you add GMAIL as an e-mail account, there is a very small checkbox that says"set as default contact list", and if you dont read everything carefully, comes pre-checked!! (sneaky on GMAIL, isn't it?)
Any help will be welcome.

Have you tried unchecking it?
Go to Setup> Email> choose the email account, click edit> Under synchronization options you can see the "contacts" check mark.
Click if you want to Thank someone. If Problem is resolved, so that others can make use of it.

Help Please! My contacts list wont sync.

Hi i have to blackberrys both curve and i wanted to change to the second one but when i tried sending the contacs to microsoft outlook to transfer to the second blackberry and also save it on my destop but instead it cut the contacs in half and put the same contacts list name for both and one of them cant sync and i have tried various things like backing up deleting and installing again but nothing is working because i cant back up what cant get recognized to get syncronized any ideads?

It's a bit difficult to understand your situation...lacking any punctuation (save for the ? at the end), parsing your post into useful information is difficult. I think that you are trying to switch from one device to a new one, and are having some difficulties with the Contact List -- exactly what those difficulties are, I'm not quite able to understand from your post.
The simplest method to switch devices is via the Device Switch Wizard:

Beyond that, if you are having trouble with only the Contacts, and are using one method, then perhaps trying another method might be useful. I think you are trying to use backup/restore, but then you also say "synchronized", which is a different function, so I'm really unclear as to what method you are using and what issues you are having. Nevertheless, here's another method you could attempt:

Can someone help me recover my contact list from my iphone 3gs, if the phone is stolen?

I am in a really bad situation...i really need to somehow recover my contact list from my iphone 3g, but the phone was stolen along with the sim card. I did a backup on my phone a couple months ago, but it was on a friends computer,which they no longer have. So my question is there anyway for me to retrieve the contact information online maybe? .... help!!

Contact List Problem

I bought my iPhone today and i am trying to figure out how to move my contact list to my iPhone. Can someone please help me

There is several ways and a couple programs that will do this. All of which is eventually done with iTunes.
Programs Supported for Windows
1. Outlook 2003 with Service Pack 3
2. Outlook 2007 with Service Pack 1
3. Outlook Express - Uses Microsoft Address Book
4. Address Book - Which communicates with Outlook Express as well if needed
Only Outlook 2007 with SP1 and Outlook 2003 with SP3 support your Calenders. But no information I have at this time with how to get that info off your current cell to those programs. So check cell phone manual for more information on this.
If you do not currently have any contact in these programs I do advise you make one of them your best friend They come in handy. To get them off your cell phone if it is already an AT&T Phone. AT&T does offer to put them onto a Thumb drive for a small fee. Instructions and Link on how to get them off the thumb drive posted below.

C7 Contact list problem

After update to anna, I have a big problem with my contact list.
it shows me a full\normal keyborad for select first character of my contacts.
before I had a smart character list (first char of my contacts)
it's really hard to work because my contact list is in English and my text language is Persian,so every time I must change keyborad language to find a contact and again for type sms.
is there any way to fix this problem or downgrade ro my old symbian?
(There is no option available for chnage mode in contact list)

I have Curve 9320. I installed Desktop manager to my pc. I also deleted the vendor.html file. Yet d desktop manager could not recognize my BB. Pls I need help

Help. My iPhone contact list is a mess.

I use the iPhone's "mail" App to connect to my Outlook, Yahoo mail, Gmail and also sync with my MacBook. Now the address books from all 4 sources are on my iPhone and they are all separate entries. I kind of expected the iPhone "Contacts" would have merged those entries during the import process or at least prompt me to merge them. No, it just silently created a mess for me.
I have heard about some 3rd party apps that will merge contact list entries. I have also heard that some apps are secretly stealing user info without telling their users. So I am shy away from downloading apps to perform tasks that Apple should have done.
Can someone tell me a way to clean up the mess by using Apple's tools alone?
Perhaps I can sync all the entries into my MacBook's Address Book first and do the clean up on the MacBook.
Then from one consolidated source, I can update my Outlook, Yahoo Mail, Gmail and iPhone afterwards.
But does Address Book support a merge function?
Please give me step by step instructions if you know how to do these. (both merging and they redistributing the list)

Yikes! Let's work on getting you down to one copy of each contact, nanalovespopa. How do you back up your contacts? Do you use Backup Assistant Plus, Blackberry Link, an alternate method, or a combination of a few?

IPhone 4 Contact List Problem. Help?

Ok so on my new iPhone 4 when I go into Messaging to send a text to more then one person and hit add contact and scroll down to select the first contact it adds fine but when I go back in to select another contact,the list isn't where I chose the last contact. It's in a completely random spot. This never happened on my old iPhone 3G that never went higher than 3.1.3. and was Jailbroken from 3.0 up. I'm not sure if it's the iPhone 4 hardware or the iOS4 software. Help if you can.

I am having the very same problem.
I have a iPhone 4 and lastest iOS4 software with contacts set to first name alphabetical. Yet every time I open contacts it will display the list in the "P's" rather than at the top with the "A's" --- no matter what contact I last accessed, edited, sent mail to, messaged, or whatever, it doesn't matter. Contacts will always default to opening in the "P's".
I have shown this phenomena to several iphone uses and they are equally baffled. It's stupid and frustrating. I want the my contacts to open at the top of the list not the middle. I have reset, restored, turned off, and even deleted and reinstalled all my contacts and nothing fixes the issue.
I can find no help anywhere on the net or forums with anyone having, let alone resolving, this same issue.
