Help can't answer or make calls

My iphone rings and can recive calls but it doesn't come up on my phone so can't answer it or see when some one rings me

iPhones, like all iDevices are not user servicable.
You broke it, or did not put it back together correctly.
Replace it.  Apple will no longer touch it.

    As suggested make sure "cellular data" is ON and you have valid cellular data plan.
    That "E" sign only shows the network (Edge) or 3G (if you are in the 3G network), but it has no relation to you not been able to make regular calls or sending regular texts with network signal (in the form of bars) being present.
    Double check if you have credit in your phone (in case of pre-paid) or if you have reached your limit (in case of post-paid)

  • SPA112 - Can receive but not make calls

    I have just setup an SPA112 at home behind a NAT router and have configured it to a state where I can receive but not make calls.
    It registers fine and remains registered.
    The Line 1 Status indicates a State of "invalid" and a Tone of "reorder" when the call fails.
    I believe I have fiddled with the dial plan sufficient to ensure that the number is not being rejected based on it. My current dial plan is as follows:
         (*xx|000S0|0[2-9][69]xxxxxxxS0|[69]xxxxxxxS0|04xxxxxxxxS0|xxxxxxxxxxxx.)
    I have tried with and without an outbound proxy.
    I have attempted to debug the issue, enabling full DEBUG level logging and setting "SIP debug option" to "full", but all I get in the log when making a failed call is the following:

    I have been unable to find any information about these warnings on th net.
    I can successfully make calls with soft phones configured with similar settings behind the same router.
    What am I missing?

    To clarify, I have been testing the connection by attempting calls to and from my mobile phone. If I use my mobile to call the number linked to the VOIP account that the SPA112 connects to, the call is received fine and the call works perfectly; I can hear voice at both ends fine.
    If I attempt to call the mobile from the phone behind the SPA112 I immediately get a reorder tone as soon as the number is dialed by the SPA112 (i.e. immediately if it matches a number in the dial plan followed by S0 or after the short wait period otherwise etc.)
    On the other hand, if I use a softphone (I've tried MicroSIP and Blink) I can place calls to the same mobile through the same VOIP account from the same LAN behind the same NAT as the SPA112, and the calls are received and bidirectional voice comms works just fine.
    I'm not sure if I can make calls internal to my LAN with this setup... I only have the one VOIP account, and have no SIP server on the LAN (if that's the right terminology, I'm new to this).
    Unfortunately I'm not sure what you're refering to when you talk about ACL and COR. The topology is very straight forward: the SPA112 (along with a couple of PCs) on a LAN behind a NAT router with an internet connection on the other side. The SPA112 is configured as a DMZ, though I don't believed this had any impact for better or worse. In no test for either SPA112 or softphone have I forwarded any ports or changed any router configuration at all (with the exception of the DMZ).
    So the question is why the softphone can place calls fine, but the SPA112 can only receive calls. The dial plan is an obvious answer, but I'm fairly certain I've ruled this out.
    If someone can tell me how to get more detailed logging out of the SPA112 that would be very useful as well.

  • Iphone 6 plus can not receive or make calls

    Intermittently, I can not eceive or make calls on my iPhone 6 plus.  Callers tell me that they call me, they hear the phone ring a number of times and it goes to voice mail.  I get the voice mail notification but my phone did not ring.  When I try to make a call, I get a recording that 'the number or code that you dialed is not valid.'  Other times the message is that I am not authorized to make a call on this device.  Other time it works fine.
    I can not detect a pattern.  I reset the PRL ( Iuse Sprint).  I did a soft reset on phone.  I called Sprint and they did something on their end but it didn't work.  They told me to take the phone back to Apple.
    Any suggestions?

    I have this same problem and just finished speaking with AT&T (though I cannot make or receive any calls). The technical support staff opened a case. This problem seems like it may be related to the problem reported in the following threads:

    Hello, please can anyone help me? My iphone 4 has stopped ringing out or making any other sound through speakers, although I can still use it to make calls & can hear people when I phone them. I've tried resetting it & also powering it off but it has made no difference. Does anyone have any solutions that may help me please?

    Check to make sure the mute switch is not in the mute position.
    You can also check to see if Do Not Disturb is on or off.

  • Can't answer iphone 4s calls using the button on the steering wheel of my Buick 2009 Enclave.

    My iphone 4s is hooked up to my Buick Enclave 2009 using Blueetooth.  I can activate Bluetooth via the button on the steering wheel and make voice calls with no problem. However when someone calls me, I can hear the phone ringing through the speakers and can see the number on the display but I can't answer the call using the answer button on the steering wheel.  I have to reach over and touch answer on the phone and then I can continue the conversation via Bluetooh.     The exact same issue is happening with my iphone 5. I don't believe it is the Life Proof case because I have had the pnone for several months and this just recently started happening, I took it to an Apple store and they claimed that this issue is new, that they have never seen it before. After about an hour of trouble shooting, they gave me a new phone.
    The new phone worked fine (in the case) for about a week and then started having the same problem. I am on the Sprint network. I have an iphone 4s for work in the same case on the AT&T network and do not have any problems.
    I am going to go back to the Apple store at my first opportunity. I wish I would have kept my old 4s which I had no problems with.

    I assume that you mean that you do see the Accept and Decline buttons and that they are not working, any time an app does not work as expected, you start with basic troubleshooting steps which would be to close the app and delete and reinstall it. You cannot delete or reinstall the iOS preinstalled apps. So try closing FaceTime completely, and reset/reboot the iPad
    In order to close apps in iOS 7 or 8, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
    Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
    If that didn't help, this can also cure weird little issues on iOS devices. You can also try resetting all settings. You will not lose any data, but most of the device settings will have to be entered in the settings app again. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settings.

    It sounds like you are unable to make or recieve phone calls because the screen goes black. I would start by quitting all the running apps on the device:
    iOS: Force an app to close
    Double-click the Home button.
    Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
    Swipe the app up to close it. 
    When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:
    iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
    If that does not resolve the issue, I would use the troubleshooting in the following article, named:

  • Help! My E66 cannot make call using contact list

    Few weeks ago, I bought a nokia E66.
    Then recently encountered some problems with it.
    When I want to make calls out using contact list, it don't allow me to do so. I did the usual steps, go contact list, select the name and press call button. However, after I press the call button, nothing happen. It stays at the contact list page. It did not even appear any error message. But I can call out when key the phone number manually.
    After getting this problem a few times, I called up the nokia care hotline. The person asked me to restart my phone using the factory setting method. It is ok after that. But, the problem re-occured again after two days.
    Anyone know what happen?
    Any solution to this problem? Cause it really bothered me a lot.

    It seems to me that the issue comes when you get too manny contacts. I have 303 contacts, but I did not get the problem before I synched it and only had about 60.
    I am not sure where to check this, but I guess it is possible to try to delete a lot of the contact and see if the problem persists...
    I know that this has been an issue on other phones in the past.
    For now, I am just getting frustrated over this problem returning wihtin 10 minutes of restarting the phone...

    Toggle airplane mode: Tap Settings > Enable Airplane Mode, wait five seconds, then turn off airplane mode.
    Check your phone settings:
    Check your Do Not Disturb settings: Tap Settings > Do Not Disturb.
    Check for any blocked phone numbers: Tap Settings > Phone > Blocked.
    See if Call Forwarding is turned on: Tap Settings > Phone > Call Forwarding.
    Ensure that your software is up to date:
    Check for a carrier settings update.
    Check for an iOS software update.
    Note: Some updates may require a Wi-Fi connection.
    If the iPhone has a SIM card, reseat the SIM card.
    If the iPhone 4 or iPhone 4s is on the Verizon network, dial *228 from the iPhone and select option 2 to update the Preferred Roaming List (PRL). The PRL determines the cellular towers the phone uses for cellular service, selecting those with the best signal strength.
    Reset the network settings: Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
    Try to make or receive calls in another location.
    Attempt to isolate to one network band:
    If you're having the issue on LTE, disable LTE, if possible, and try again.
    If you're having the issue on 3G/4G, disable 3G/4G, if possible, and try again.
    Contact the carrier to check the following:
    Your account is properly configured to use the specific iPhone that has the issue.
    There are no localized service outages.
    Your account doesn't have a billing-related block.
    Your calls don't have errors on the carrier system.
    Restore the phone as new.
    If the above steps don't resolve the issue, go to an Apple Retail Store, carrier, Apple Authorized Reseller, or contact AppleCare to send the phone in for service.

    HI, there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to do so.  Have you tried a hard reset?  Press the sleep button and Home buttons simultaneously, until you see the Apple logo after about 12 seconds.  Then let go, and let your phone reboot.  You won't lose any information at all.  That solves a number of hardware issues.

  • Phones can receive but not make calls

    I have an issue similar to the link below.  About 2 weeks ago we had one phone not able to place calls.  It could receive calls but could not dial out.  Reseting the phone did not fix the problem.  I configured a 2nd phone with a button using the same DN and it couldn't place outbound calls either.  It seemed like the problem was with the DN not the phone.  In any case I rebooted the UC520 and the problem went away.  About a week later a 2nd, different phone was affected by the same problem and I had to reboot again.  In my case neither the config or IOS and CME versions have changed in almost 2 years.  I don't understand why this would start happening with no changes to the system.  I am running IOS 15.1(2)T2 and CME 8.1.
    Any ideas how to troubleshoot this?  What would be good debug commands to use and/or gather more info?

    That makes no sense at all. The phone doesn't know or care what kind of phone is calling it. There's something else causing this. Contact your carrier.

    I couldn't make calls from my Iphone so I asked my carrier company to change it. From default settings can make calls, but after I restore it from my profile cannot make calls!
