Help, cant use iPod on PC from a Mac

I tried using an ipod on a PC computer after its been formatted to use from a mac. i ran the updated software. now when i restarted my computer, the ipod isnt being recognized by my computers USB. it says like the usb drive is malfunctioning. i run windows xp and i am under the 2nd windows service update (whatever it is). i just got this computer that cost me 1000$, so i dont see why it isnt being found. if anyone had this problem and can figure this it, it'd be much appreciated. thanx

$1000 for your new PC? Pretty expensive compared to a Mac mini.
Anyway, download the latest version of the iPod software updater, install it, and run it. Connect the iPod when told, and choose to restore. See if this helps.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
The Apple TV 2 doesn't show up under devices like the Apple TV 1, to send video and music to the Apple TV you need to use the Airplay Option which appears in the lower right corner of iTunes.

If the settings are correct?, Then delete the account and start over. You may also try to restart your phone by holding the home and off button down till the apple symbol comes up.

Help with used iPod I just got - syncing and uploading a LOT of CD's

Hello All:
So I just brought a used iPOD on Ebay, and i'm totally new to using them. I believe it's the 6th generation classic, 80GB, black. I have two questions.
1) I get the message in itunes that only one library can be synced, do I want to erase the ipod and upload the library thats on my laptop. I assume this is some kind of copyright thing, and that theres no way to save the songs that are on the iPod to the laptop, since they were loaded onto the iPod by the previous owner?
2) I have about fifty CD's here I want to load onto the iPod. In my mind, i'm thinking I want to backup the iPod with all 50 CD's onto an external USB hard drive. I don't really want 80GB of data on the laptop internal hard drive that I use all the time. I poked around with iTunes for about a half-hour, and I can't see how to load CD's onto the iPod without loading the CD's onto the laptop internal hard drive and then syncing the iPod to load the CD's onto it. Forgive my ignorance, but is it possible to load CD's directly from the laptop CD-ROM drive to the iPod without going onto the laptop internal har drive first, and/or can I use iTunes on the laptop with an external USB hard drive and/or then go from the external hard drive to the iPod or from the iPod first to the external hard drive to backup the iPod?

I FIGURED IT OUT!!!!
what i did was plugged my iPod back up, then when iTunes pops up, drag your 'music' section to your iPod. (you have to be in your library, not in the iTunes store)
mine synched automatically, and i had no problem ejecting it or anything.
no error messages either. and all my music is now on my iPod!

Synching iPod Nano 4th from previous Mac to borrowed PC..

I am temporarily using a borrowed PC while my Mac is being fixed. When I plug the iPod into the iTunes PC, it asks me if I want to re-format the iPod. If I do so with the PC, will I be able to re-format it back when I go back to the Mac OS X Tiger, Leopard, or Snow Leopard ?

Yes, you will be able to reformat the iPod back to Mac's native format when your iPod returns.
Since a Windows machine cannot read or write to a Mac's format, you will have to format the iPod in order to use it with the PC you are temporarily using. Keep in mind, that by reformatting the iPod, you will be deleting everything from it, so make sure all your music and files that currently reside on it are backed up somewhere for safekeeping.
On another note, you don't have to reformat the iPod again after re-syncing the iPod with your Mac, because Mac's can Read and Write to Windows formatted iPods, but you can still choose to do so if you wish.

Cant use icloud with numbers. neither on mac or iPhone. osx 10.8.2, numbers 2.2. iphone 5

On your computer, go to System Preferences > iCloud
Match sure things are checked there also.
On your computer, Try going to
https://www.icloud.com
and sign in.
Got to IWork > Click on Numbers at the top
Drag a Numbers file from Finder to iCloud

IMessage: Is there anyway for me to imessage using my phone number from my Mac?

Whenever I imessage from my Mac, it shows up on the recipiant's device as my appleID, and when I contact the same person using my iPhone, the message shows up as my phone number. The ending result is two threads of the conversation on the recipeiant's end. I am wondering, with the new update, is it possible to use only my phone number for an imessage on my Mac and not my email address?

Nope I've been wondering that myself, but I'm afraid messages sent from your Mac will only show up as your apple ID email, while messages sent from your iPhone use a SIM card therefore will show up as digits. Think it just works that way, sorry!

FRUSTRATED! With Update - Please help cant use itunes at all

I have tried to update my itunes to the latest version it does not work and now i can not even open the old version - let me explain what pops up as I try to do the update.
After I have saved and open the itunes set up the following things happen
I click install and a box opens that reads
- the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailabe. Click ok to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'itunes.msi' in the box below.
I click ok and another window pops up that says
- The path 'c\documentsandsettings\Becky\Localsettings\applicationdata\apple\applesoftware update\itunes.msi' can not be found. Verify that you have access to this location and try again, or try to find the installation package 'itunes.msi'in a folder from which you can install the product itunes.
the next thing that happens is I click ok (because this is the only option that it gives me)then it goes back to the first message that it gave me. Then when I try to close the window it tells me
- the older version of itunes can not be removed contact your technical support group.
CAN ANY ONE HELP ME WITH THIS PLEASE - I REALLY WOULD LIKE TO UPDATE MY IPOD AND ADD SOME MORE MUSIC TO IT.

When you get messages about problems with msi files, you need to clean up your installer files with the Microsoft Installer cleanup utility. Here is a method for removal of the old iTunes, clean up and reinstall:
== uninstall with cleanup ==
Download a fresh copy of iTunes and the stand alone version of Quicktime (the one without iTunes)

Download and install Microsoft Installer cleanup utility, there are instructions on the page as well as the download. Note that what you download is the installer not the program – you have to run it to install the program. The installer doesn't give any message to confirm the installation.

Now use the following method to remove iTunes and its components:

*If you hit a problem with one of the uninstalls don't worry*, carry on with the deleting of files and folders as directed in the method.
When you get to deleting Quicktime files in the system32 folder as advised in the method, you can delete any file or folder with Quicktime in the name.
Restart your PC.
Run the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility. (Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up)
Remove any references you find to the programs you removed - strictly speaking you only need to worry about those programs where the uninstall failed.
If you don’t see an entry for one of the programs that did not uninstall, look out for blank entries or numeric entries that look like version numbers e.g. 7.x for Quicktime or 1.x for Bonjour.
restart your PC
Install the stand alone Quicktime and check that it works.
If it does, install iTunes.

Help - Cant use CS3 after Hard Drive replaced and software had to be reinstalled

My iMac needed a new Hard Drive so had this replaced by licensed Apple repairer. All software was lost and was told to reinstall CS3 which I did successfully. I have the original CD's. Serial number accepted. When I opened up Illustrator, Photoshop or indesign I get a message saying I am trying to upgrade ( which I am not) and that I need to choose the version premium 1 or 2 or standard 1 or 2. I chose standard 1. The am asked to put serial number in again then hit enter button. It comes up with an "x" saying I cannot access or upgrade. I then can't go forward or do anything except click back button or quit. Please can anyone help?? I tried calling Australian customer support but CS is not supported by phone which is very frustrating.

Purdy123 did you migrate or transfer over your applications from the other drive? If so then this is likely causing your current error. Please run the available uninstallers located in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder. Once you have done this then please also use the CC Cleaner Tool to ensure complete removal. You can find instructions and the download at Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html.
Once you have completed the removal process you should then be able to reinstall the software successfully. If you need a fresh copy of the installation files then you can download them from Download CS3 products.

I need help cant unfreeze ipod

the ipod frozze it got disconected during update i used the reset that brought me 2 the screen with the apple i reconnected to pc it wasnt doing anything so disconnected it and now its frozen and wont work

Updated to IOS 4.0.1 now i cant use ipod feature on my phone!

When i go onto the ipod it closes after a second or 2. Ive tried re starting the phone but it doesnt make a difference. Im annoyed as ive just purchased 2 new albums on itunes and cant listen to them now! I tried to check that the had been downloaded succesfully by going onto uitunes and purchased, but again it just closed the screen.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

I upgraded to iOS4 when it was first released. Havent had MUCH issues with it yet, but last night I downloaded a couple of albums via the store, and since then the iPod app crashes after 2-3 seconds, just like you.

Hi, I almost forgot the little I learned about web page development, so, I'm a total noob when it comes to this and I need your help.
I saved as a complete web page on my hard disk this web page but when I open it in Firefox or IE, it doesn't display as much as I need it. I'm mostly interested in displaying the logo images as they appear on the original web page. The browsers just show them briefly when refreshing but hide them right away. I can see the image files downloaded to my hard drive and if I open the page in Dreamweaver it displays these images in the preview pane but I can't make them show in the browsers. From Dreamweaver I saved the page as in the folder where the images are and this also updated the code with the relative image links but the browsers still don't show them.
I will greatly appreciate your help with this.
