Help convert spread pages to single pages when converting Indesign to PDF for printer

I have an Indesign booklet of 28 pages which I need to convert to pdf as single pages so I need to turn off the spread pages/facing pages option so I can convert to pdf to get it printed. I know how to turn the spread/facing pages off but when I do this it affects the master page and all the pages become left hand pages and the headers/page nos are in the wrong place. I have looked at numerous websites/blogs and everyone seems to have the same problem. Can anyone help me please as this is really urgent now?

Actually, you DON'T want to undo the facing pages. Just export using the settings recommended by the printer and you'll get one PDF with individual pages, not spreads, as long as the Spreads box is not checked.

Thanks Bob, to date I have simply used the High Quality Print default, which is actually Acrobat 4 (PDF 1.3) - I have never had issues before - until now when I upgraded my software..

A part of an image frame is on other page as well, it is misplacing while creating PDF for print

I am working on a design in which there is an image frame box with outline & shadow. This box is continuing from one page to other page as well. (80% on one page & 20% on the other) When I am previrewing it in InDesign Booklet SE, it's showing perfect but when I created new document in that and look at the design that image box is coming only on one page not on the other...I am trying to break the box into two, but the problem is outline...it creates outline on all the 4 sides on both parts of the broken image frame resulting in outline in between the image, which is where the page folds. I don't know how to solve this. Will highly apppreciate any response/ideas. Thanks!

InBooklet SE had some problems with creating new documents and frames that crossed the spine, as you've discovered.
This MIGHT work, though: copy the image and paste in place so you have two copies on top of each other, then crop them in opposite directions to stop at the spine. I surmise you've added a stroke to the frame, so use the direct select tool to select the frame edge along the spine on each one and delete that segment. This will probably be easier to do if you put the images on separate layers so you can hide one while trying to work on the other.

When saving a document as a PDF for printing, I lose pages, clip art, and my orginal format. Help!

I have created some forms for our congregation to fill in with answers on adobe forms central. When I go to turn it into a PDF for printing for a hard copy, (not all our members have internet) when i save it to a PDF, it doesn't save all the pages and formats it differently then show on the screen i programmed it onto. How do I fix this issue?

The main thing to look at is the "View" setting and for PDF set it to "Page View", the page breaks you define in Page View will be used in the PDF, there are also "implicit" page breaks added automatically based on the page size.

Is it wise to chage site design from multiple page to single page scrollable design for SEO?

I have a current site with multiple pages created in Muse. From watching some tutorials I am beginning to believe that converting the site to a one page scrollable format would be more applicable for table and mobile applications. My questions are these:
By adding anchor points and links to the stacked pages will this act the same as independent pages for SEO, or will I lose all of the current web traction I have earned and be starting over?
Is it commonly accepted that by converting to a one page format that it will be easier for search crawlers to rank my site?

Single page websites can be great for new sites or for some special projects, but I won't recommend them as long-term solutions and, if you already have a multi-page website, I do not recommend switching to a single-page site.
If your single page site has great content and good structure, google might provide same treatment as it does for various sub pages website.

Search engines will index all the pages of your website, providing multiple opportunities for your site to come up in searches. When your site consists of only one page, a single page is exactly what you’ll have indexed.
That means if you have many services, many products, single page design will really compromise your rank and result in search engine.

ADE 2.0 does not have functions of divided page and single page- like ADE 1.7?

I have a question for specification between ADE 1.7 and ADE 2.0.
ADE 2.0 does not have icon buttons for "divided two-page" and "single page" like ADE 1.7? Since ADE 1.8 Preview version was temporarily available to download, there has been disappeared such functions....

There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0 (and 2.0.1). Try replacing ADE2.0 with the older but more reliable v1.7.2.
(You can have them both installed at once if you like.)
Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.

Some people have found ADE trying to upgrade automatically.
It appears (not 100% sure) that if you install ADE2.0 as a new install (not as an upgrade) that your 1.7.2 will continue to run.
Probably best to say no if 2.0.x installation asks if you want to migrate your library.

Saving Illustrator CS4 file to PDF for printing. NO FORUMS CAN HELP

I have put threads on the PDF forum, they told me to put it on Illustrator forum and still know one has an answer, Tried to contact Adobe about this and just got a run around. Can anyone please help?
My problem results from when I save my file from Adobe Illustrator to a PDF for printing. After saving from Illustrator to a PDF and proofing it on screen all my gradients and other elements are where I need them to be on the page. But when I upload them to my printing company template all the gradients and so on are not even close to be in the right spot. How can I solve this problem, Is there a new setting in CS4 I need to know? Because I never had this problem with Illustrator CS3.

I'm far from an Illustrator expert, but let's see if we can gather som more information form you that might help me, or someone else, figure out what's going wrong. Can you post a screnn capture of the arwork in Illustrator so I can see what the gradients are and how they're positioned? Use the little camera Icon thing in the toolbar above the message editing space on the web page.
Next, tell us about the printer's template. What application is it made in? What version?
What version of Illustrator and what OS are you using to create your art?
Is it only the gradients that are in the wrong place? Maybe a screen shot of that would help too.

Help With Printing Multiple Pages on Single Page

I am trying to print a calendar on a single 11x17 sheet of paper. Currently the size of the calendar is forcing the application to want to print 3 pages. I have a ministry requirement that requires the calendar to be printed in Arial size 16 font and print
on a single page. Is there any way to fit this document on to one page?

I would set it up with a landscape page size of 11x17. Insert tables for the calendar, floating if necessary. Insert the text. This is not using a calendar wizard or anything of the sort.

Are we talking a week, a single month, two months, a quarter, four months, six months, or a year? Very much is going to be very crowded!
As an alternative, you could try setting it up for two portrait pages and then tell word to print two pages per sheet. You would lose some paper to wider margins this way. (I have only done this with 8-1/2 x 11 pages but the principle should be the same.)
This would require starting with an even larger font because Word would scale it. If you need exactly Arial 16 it may be tough to get.
p.s. I envy your ability to print on 11x17.

This sounds like a postback issue. Does your application handle postback by putting the report in session?

How do I reduce a Pages file size so I can create a pdf for e-mailing?

I recently upgraded from Tiger to OS X Leopard. In Tiger, I was able to reduce file size and create a 700 to 800kb file by going to print/color sync/quartz filter/reduce file size/save as pdf. But in Leopard those options can't be accessed from my pages print menu. Any suggestions? Thanks TH

Welcome to Pages discussions.
Another way to reduce the PDF files size is: Print > PDF, Compress PDF. As I create a PDF for e-mailing that's what I do, works well. 99.99% of folks don't print PDF's, they either file in a folder or delete. Viewing on their monitor that Compress PDF appears as it should.
A side note; by using this discussions Search feature in the box that reads "Search Discussions more Options" you could have found the answer to your question. Doing that would be faster than awaiting for an enduser as yourself to respond.
These Discussions are user helping user, not Apple employees answering the question. Questions will be answered when a user such as yourself finds time, desires to, knows the answer along with the time to respond.

HELP! Fonts change/get knocked out when files sent to rip and printed

When ripping files for print from InDesign CS3 some fonts - sometimes the first letter of the word or the last letter of a word or a letter in between - is replaced by a box with an X in it. It would not be a consistent incidence but rather sporadic and so we've had to re-print many publications. We've started make a pdf and then placing it in InDesign CS3 before ripping. This problem did not occur with CS2. Any suggestions?
Also, does anyone know if InDesign CS4 has the inbooklet or any other similar feature?

Try sending Complete rather than Subsetted fonts when printing, perhaps? (Print dialog->Graphics->Fonts->Download->Complete.) You can try toggling the "PPD" checkbox there too. Sometime flipping it the other way helps with print problems.
Lastly, it never hurts to set subsetting to 0% when saving Illustrator files placed in the document, with the theory being that if you send complete copies of the font everywhere, all the letters will be available for printing, even if something along the line gets confused and uses the wrong version.

Logic used by MIGO when ticking on the checkbox for printing

There is a checkbox named 'PRINT BY OUTPUT CONTROL' on the MIGO screen near print symbol. In one of my client requirement, I want to use the same functionaly which the MIGO transaction uses while clicking on this checkbox.
I have dubugged the transaction 'MIGO' to find out the logic (any FUNCTION MODULE) sap have written to do this funcationalilty ..but unable to find out.
Please help me in giving the logic/function module name?

Thanks for your reply. I have the table set to multiple, and after doing more debugging I found out some more. It seems to be messing up when I have a filter applied to the table. For example:
1- I filter down to 1 row in the table
2- I then add two more records
3- I select the checkbox for delte for two of those records
4- I hit apply which calls code above and only one of the two records are deleted. If I don't do anything to the table and hit apply again the second one is then deleted
Second Scenario
1- I filter down to 1 row in the table
2- I then add two more records
3- I log out of system
4- Use the same filter to bring me back to the 3 rows (1 already there 2 I added)
5 - I select two of the 3 records hit apply and both are deleted (Which is what I want)
So I don't know why but the iterator seems to not be reading everything after the initial inserts
