HELP! Fatal Error C0000034 applying update operation 303 of 106925 (_00000...)

I don't know what to do.
Installation of the Windows 7 service pack 1 had been interrupted. I started the computer up, and it stuck at the start up screen(black with windows logo and "Starting Windows". I had to force shut down by holding power button then when I started
it back up I ran the Startup Repair. It restarted after that and THEN gave me the C0000034 Fatal Error code. I've left it there until I get help with what to do now.
I cannot access my desktop, I haven't tried force shutting it down and starting again. I need major help, please.
I don't know much about computers. I need something simple that I can understand.
I hope I can get a quick reply, I don't want to have to wipe everything out.

Hi,
The solution for the issue from the author named Herman:
Do the following:
1. Locate a second computer with access to the internet.
2. Open Notepad.
3. Copy and paste the following text into Notepad.
Dim xmlDoc, node, nodeList, fileName, backupFileName, numberOfPOQNodes
      Set xmlDoc = CreateObject("Microsoft.XMLDOM")
      If Wscript.Arguments.Count = 0 Then
      WScript.echo("Error! No XML file specified.")
      Wscript.quit
      End If
      fileName = WScript.Arguments(0)
      backupFileName = Left(fileName, InStrRev(fileName, ".") - 1) & "_backup.xml"
      If Not xmlDoc.load(fileName) Then
      WScript.echo("Failure loading XML file " & fileName & ".")
      Wscript.quit
      End If
      xmlDoc.save(backupFileName)
      Set nodeList = xmlDoc.documentElement.selectNodes("POQ")
      numberOfPOQNodes = nodeList.Length
      For Each node in nodeList
      xmlDoc.documentElement.removeChild(node)
      Next
      xmlDoc.save(fileName)
      Set xmlDoc = Nothing
WScript.echo(numberOfPOQNodes & " POQ nodes removed. Script completed.")
   4. Click File, and then click Save as.
   5. Name the file script.vbs and save the file to a removable media device such as a USB thumb drive.
APPLYING THE SCRIPT TO THE FAILED INSTALLATION:
1. Restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard. You have to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you have to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears and then shutting down and
restarting your computer.
2. Use the arrow keys to select Repair your Computer in the Advanced Boot Options area, and then press Enter. If you are prompted, select the Windows 7 installation to be repaired, and then click Next.
3. Select the language and a keyboard input method, and then click Next.
4. Select a user name, type your password, and then click OK.
5. Under System Recovery Options, make a note of the Windows 7 drive letter listed on the line below Choose a recovery tool.
For example, you may see something similar to the following.
Operating system: Windows 7 on (C:) <VolumeName>
Note In this example, the drive letter for Windows 7 would be C.
6. Under System Recovery Options, click Command Prompt.
7. Insert the removable media with the script (.vbs) file that you previously created into the PC.
8. At the command prompt, navigate to the drive, and the directory, that contains the script (.vbs) file that you previously created.
For example, if you previously saved the script.vbs file that you created to the root of a USB thumb drive, and the drive letter associated with the USB thumb drive is the “E” drive, you would simply type the following at the command prompt, and then press
Enter.
E:
Note If you are not sure which drive contains the removable media you can use Diskpart to display a list of drives. To run Diskpart, follow these steps.
         1. Type Diskpart, and then press Enter.
         2. Type List volume, and then press Enter.
         3. Make a note of the drive that contains the removable media with the script (.vbs) file that you previously created. Assuming you used a USB thumb drive, the drive type will be listed as “Removable”.
         4. To exit Diskpart type Exit, and then press Enter.
9. At the command prompt, type the following command and press Enter:
Cscript Script.vbs C:\Windows\winsxs\pending.xml
In this example, (c:\) is the drive letter that the Windows 7 operating system is installed on.
This will run the script in the Script.vbs file. After the script completes, you may see a message similar to following.
2 POQ nodes removed. Script Completed
10. To exit the command prompt type Exit, and then press Enter.
11. Restart your computer. Service Pack 1 installation should now complete successfully.

• Please HELP! Error: -2147012894 (80072ee2) the operation timed out on WinHttpRequest.5.1

Hello
I REALLY NEED SOME GUIDANCE ON THIS ERROR.
Does anyone know why this could be happening.  I am getting the error:  -2147012894 (80072ee2) the operation timed out.  I have this code in an Excel macro.  I am sending the URL an XML string and am expecting a response
but I am getting the time out error on the SEND.  I have tried using the SetTimeouts method, but I still get the error.
Could it be my machine settings?  Does WinHTTPRequest work with Excel VBA?  I am just lost at this point.  I have researched, and have seen examples of Excel VBA using WinHTTPRequest.  I do not know why I am getting
the error.
Your help is very much appreciated.  I really need some direction on how to resolve this issue.

Kristin --- the C# forum may not be the place for web service questions, but the ASP.NET forums is not a correct suggestion for Karthik's question either. ASP.NET really has absolutely nothing to do with a web service. The WCF forum may have been
a better suggestion (although you don't necessarily have to have a WCF service for RESTful web services) ... So, could you move this thread here:
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/home?forum=wcf
Karthik --- sorry I couldn't help you more, but I've seriously run out of ideas. If Kristen can't move your thread out of this Off-Topic forum, then perhaps you could re-post it to the WCF forums from the link I provided above. Perhaps I should have
moved the thread to begin with (I can do that from the C# forum, but I cannot do it from this Off-Topic forum, sorry)

• Help - Fatal Error

I have about four spots (frames between a marker and a script that says stay at frame) - that anytime I click into one of the frames - the program crashes. So I worked around these spot. Now I started to publish and I get a Fatal Error - help -is there a way to delete these frames from somewhere other than the score (since clicking on the frame in the score) - crashes the program. When I recreated the missing pieces - I used the same cast members - and all is fine.

I did one - and it allowed me to click in that area -----thank you.
I will have to check the rest and then see if it allows me to publish - but this is definitely a step in the right direction.
What would cause this?
I have one other problem - I can live with it - but it is strange - 10% of the time when I save the file - it just spins - and says application not responding. I am on a Mac - Leopard. I have 11.5.  It happened even more frequently on 11.0 - any ideas?

• Please help.  Error 16 after update - solutions not working for me

If anyone could help I would really appreciate it.  Have spent the last three days since Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop update trying to get anything to work.  I have tried the various solutions, but nothing seems to work for me.  I am using OSX 10.8.4.  Would really appreciate any assistance.  Many thanks in advance.  John

Blanco1234 and Capnahabnick to confirm you have both implemented the steps listed in Configuration error - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/configuration-error-cs5.html?
If so you could still be facing permission difficulties.  I would recommend logging in as a root user and trying to launch Photoshop in that account.  If you are successful then your current user account still has compromised file permissions.
You can find information on how to log into a root user account at Enabling and using the "root" user in Mac OS X - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1528.

• Windows Server 2012R2 Fatal Error C0000034 when trying to boot

Hi.
We patched our Server 2012R2 DC today to fix against CVE-2014-6324 using Windows update. After rebooting, we are now unable to boot and receive the error stated in the title when trying to boot.
Our primary DC however had no issues applying the update and rebooted perfectly fine.
I can only seem to find articles relating to Windows 7 SP1 regarding this error code. Is there a method for recovering this with Server 2012R2?
Thanks.

Hi,
I think we could check if other update installed correctly.
Did you try to remaing pending.xml file to check the result?

• Fatal error in attempting update and synch to new version

I attempted to update to new iPhone version and to synch today. The update totally failed with unknown error. The attempt to restore was unsuccessful, with the unhelpful message that an "unknown error occurred (1603)." The iPhone is now totally useless and inoperative. Yes, I can get an Apple logo in B & W. I can also get a color image showing that I should connect to iTunes, but of course that totally fails to work.
What do I do now, folks?
jerry

At the genius bar at a local Apple store the consensus is that the error I experienced is not unheard with this large iPhone update from a Windows machine to an iPhone. The iPhone was connected to an in-store Apple machine which did a clean-up and then did a restore. I was then able to connect the iPhone to my PC to re-synchronize calendar, contacts (etc.) -- after losing all date during the restore. Everything is fine once again.

• A fatal error has occured while updating your device's software

I have a problem I hope you guys can help me.
Blackberry Model: 8820
Device Software version: 4.5.0.55
Desktop Software version: 4.7.0.37
Carrier: Singapore Telecom Mobile Pte Ltd(https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/browseSoftware.do)
Everytime I start up my desktop software, it would prompt me that there are newer versions for some of the applications in my blackberry such as my browser, brickbreaker etc. So I followed through their instructions to install these updates. When it reached step 3/11, an error would occur while it say it was trying to turn on my radio
Here's the screenshot of the error:

But I do observed that @ task 1/11, it switched off my radio. @ task 3/11 it tried to switch back on again. thats when the error occured.
when I unplugged my device after the error, I saw that my mobile connection was off and my blackberry had to re-connect again. I do admit that my area has pretty bad reception, but that cant be the problem right?
On top of that, maybe I also like to pop another 2 questions:
1) Why is it I cant set up my email? I followed the instructions here:
http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/blackberry101/setup.jsp#tab_tab_email
but my setup wizard dont have the option to select "I want to create or add an email address"
I only gives me the option of the enterprise mail
2) I tried to browse to to te blackberry website using my blackberry, but its says my device is not supported. Any way to solve this?

Unable to complete loading operation. Fatal error occurred when updating handheld
The search box on top-right of this page is your true friend, and the public Knowledge Base too:

• I have three user accounts on one computer. On only one account when I when I check Help - About fire fox only one user account says apply update and won't apply. The other two work fine.

One of three user accounts on the same computer appears to not be updating to 8.0.1 correctly. One admin and one none admin user account says it is up-to-date. The other non-admin user account, under Help About Firefox says apply update, but won't.

As long as you installed MS Office into its default location (the top level /Applications folder) it will be available to all user accounts on the Mac.
As far as licensing is concerned you only have to enter the license code once, which you should do right after installing MS Office, in the same admin account you installed it from, by opening any one of the MS Office applications.  There is no additional licensing required for additional user accounts on the same Mac.
Each user account is able to run the Office apps.  The only thing you will have to do is go through an initial setup screen in each user account (but this setup does NOT involve entering any additional license codes).
You may have problems if you installed MS Office in a particular user account (i.e. NOT in the top level /Applications folder).

• Update Operation Fatal Error when installing Technical Preview Build 10041 Upgrade

I posted this in the Microsoft Community forums and was redirected here.
Below is the original post (URL: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/insider/forum/insider_wintp-insider_install/update-operation-fatal-error-when-installing/6eaff1b9-0223-4357-afc8-884382590e82 )
Hello,
In trying to perform an upgrade install of the Windows 10 Technical Preview Build 10041 (as is the latest available for direct download as of my writing), I am running into a problem I cannot find mention of anywhere else on the web.
I fall into two categories with regards to this build: A) Product tester who actually needs to test application performance under Windows 10 on bare metal, B) Semi-crazy techie who loves using (usable) beta software as his primary environment ;)
so it is rather important to me that I get this working on my machine in some non-virtualized respect. I am reluctant to do a full/fresh install if installation problems are happening, because my Windows 8 product key has been f***ed up from the
start (likely some random database corruption) and I've had to utilize phone support to get around an "unknown error" the last two times I've had to use it. So, for fear of that key completely crapping out on me, I don't want to move to Win10 unless
I'm confident it will install and I can stick with it (for better or worse) through the end. Problems within the Preview after I install it I can deal with.
So, I first tried to install the Preview through the standard Windows Update method. The installer took about 7 hours (but from reading lots of internet discussions, stupidly long install times in that range seem to be a common problem with
this builds separate from it actually failing). During the reboot between the "Setting up Devices" (Or is it Setting up Drivers? I forget) and "Taking Care of a Few More Things" (Again, possibly paraphrased), for about a split second, underneath
the Windows logo and throbber, some error like this appeared:
Fatal Error Performing Update Operation # of ##: ERROR CODE
It only appeared for a fraction of a second, and I had no chance of reading the precise numbers or error.
However, the installer then seemed to continue, and went until the main circle was at 100%. As soon as 100% hit, however, the screen went black for something like 30min. Then, I briefly saw "Attempting to recover installation" before "Restoring
your previous version of Windows." And I was, quite impressively considering how far along that installer was, back in Windows 8.1 completely unharmed.
I tried again by burning an ISO and doing a disc upgrade install. I let that one run overnight and was asleep for the error, but I was back in Win8.1 in the morning, so I can only assume a similar thing happened there.
As for my system specs, I'm running on a MacBook Pro 9,1 under Boot Camp. I am upgrading from Windows 8.1.2 Pro with Media Center. I have found other online accounts of people quite successfully installing Windows 10 on Macs, so that isn't the issue.
Does anyone have any clue as to what this error might have been/be, and how I might fix it? Or at least have it on good authority that a fresh installation would be unaffected (meaning it's software-related)? If not, I can try installing to a VHD,
which would at least let me product test on bare metal, but wouldn't have the harddrive space to be my daily driver and would probably only get used occasionally.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!
So far, I have the yet-to-be-tried idea of a clean boot prior to installation.
If anyone here has any more specific ideas, lemme hear 'em.
Thanks!

To the individual who proposed this as an answer to my problem: It's not even applicable. I specifically stated that I was trying to avoid doing a clean installation (at least without knowing more about the problem at hand). An answer saying to do the thing
you're trying to avoid doing is not an answer. You can see my last reply for the current status of this issue. 6-8 hour blocks of time in which I can't use my computer (as is required to install build 10041) aren't super common for me, but I haven't abandoned
this thread. There have simply been no more updates. If your motivation as a mod was that you simply don't like there being unanswered threads on this forum, then perhaps you could attempt to contribute rather than arbitrarily marking the first reply as an
answer.
I will continue to update this thread as I try new things and get more information.
Thank you.
