Please help.  Error 16 after update - solutions not working for me

If anyone could help I would really appreciate it.  Have spent the last three days since Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop update trying to get anything to work.  I have tried the various solutions, but nothing seems to work for me.  I am using OSX 10.8.4.  Would really appreciate any assistance.  Many thanks in advance.  John

If so you could still be facing permission difficulties.  I would recommend logging in as a root user and trying to launch Photoshop in that account.  If you are successful then your current user account still has compromised file permissions.
You can find information on how to log into a root user account at Enabling and using the "root" user in Mac OS X - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1528.

    You may have to do this several times.

    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

    1. Open the Mac App Store's Purchases tab. If you're prompted to accept iPhoto into your Apple ID, do so.
    2. Move it out of the Applications folder(it may need to be put into the Trash temporarily), and then see if you can download it for free from its individual product page.
    3. Click here and contact Apple.

  • SM36/37: Specification "After Job" does not work for Daily "periodcity"

    I reviewed http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/20/2d513897110872e10000009b38f889/content.htm, which states what I am trying to do should work, but it does not.
    Here's the deal:
    1.  I have two jobs: "A" and "B".
    2.  "A" runs Daily.
    3.  I set-up job "B" to run "After job" "A" in my SM36 definition.
    Job "B" will run the next day, but never runs again after that even though job "A" continues to run "Daily" as it should.
    Further info:
    1.  We have "Event-triggered" jobs that run fine, but the "After Job" designation doesn't seem to work ongoingly.
    2.  I can review both jobs "A" and "B" for any "Predecessor" or "Successor" jobs, and, the first jobs to run after the initial set-up DO reference each other (in other words, let's say I schedule job "B" to run "After job" "A" on Tuesday.  After Tuesday's run, Job "A" sees job "B" as it's "Successor" job and job "B" sees job "A" as it's "Predecessor" job), but the definition doesn't last into the next day ONLY FOR JOB "B" (as I mentioned, job "A" always runs fine).
    3.  I can't set the "periodcity" for job "B" because, once I flag it to run "After Job" "A", the "period" options disappear.
    4.  One final tidbit: the variant for job "B" has a "key date" specified so the date is dynamic for each day the job runs.  I can set up job "B" to run "Daily" with this variant and it runs fine, but I wanted it to run AFTER job "A" so it never runs if job "A" doesn't run.  (At this point, it's becoming a matter of principal!)
    Here's my question:
    Why won't job "B" continue to run "Daily" after job "A" (a "Daily" job) runs?

  • After Update Trigger not triggering for first update

    Hi All,
    I have written a Trigger on AP_SUPPLIERS table to update AP_SUPPLIER_SITES_ALL when payment priority gets updated on AP_SUPPLIERS table. Trigger calls a pragma autonomous procedure after update happens, and updates sites table. We are on R12 (12.1.3) with  DB 11.2.0.3.0
    Somehow this is not working for the first update, after that for every update it is working. Any idea why this might be happening?

  • TS4268 Please help! After updating Apple ID info. FaceTime & iMessage are not recognising my Apple ID?!

    After updating my Apple ID info. FaceTime & iMessage logged out of my Apple ID account on both my iPad and iPhone and are not logging back using the same Apple ID claiming that my user name or password was incorrect?! Surprisingly, it's logged in on both Messeges and Facetime on my Mac. My Apple ID is well and running on my iOS devices for the Appstore and all of my emails are verified with my Apple ID when checked online. I tried logging through a different account, which worked for that account but it didn't allow me back to my initial and primary account, I even tried to edit again some of the information on my Apple ID hoping that it'll allow me to sign in afterwards but with no luck, I tried both WIFI and cellular to connect and it also didn't work. Please help me! I need to sign my iPhone's and iPad's FaceTime and iMessage to my Apple ID again.

    Maybe your location is not supported. I know it might have worked before but with the iOS 6 update there seems to be a conflict. Try changing your location on both your account and iPad using this guide. It might help you.
    1) Go here: http://www.apple.com/support/appleid/manage/
    2) Click on Sign in to manage your Apple ID
    3) Click on Manage your Apple ID
    4) Type in your Apple ID and Password and click Sign in
    5) Select Addresses from the left hand side
    6) Click Edit
    7) In country region type United Kingdom
    8) Click Save at the bottom of the page
    9) Go to your Apple Device Settings - General - International - Region Format - Select United Kingdom
    10) Press the Home button
    11) Log into Facetime and iMessage with your CORRECT APPLE ID AND PASSWORD
    Worked for me.

  • Add-On Update is not working for my firefox. All plugins shown as unknown please help SCREENSHOT INCLUDED

    When I click 'check to see if my add-ons are up to date' firefox shows that all my plugins are unknown. They all work fine, but I have no way of knowing which actually need to be updated or not outside of manually doing it, which I have been doing for some time. It's frustrating because it puts my computer at risk, as I can't easily see the status of all of my plugins at once as I should.
    This has occurred through at least 10 updates of firefox and a couple reinstalls. I've been trying to ignore it, and I've googled for help but I haven't found a solution.

    Firefox only knows about a few popular plugins like Flash and Silverlight and Java and the Adobe Reader, but not plugins like DivX and iTunes.<br />
    You should see if those are up to date if you visit the plugin check page.<br />
    You can always visit the website of a plugin to see if there is an update because the plugin check page may get it wrong or haven't been updated yet to recognize the latest version.

  • Please help!! Laptop is not working and needed for homework!!!

    I have a Toshiba laptop. The model is Satellite A215-S5837. The problem I have is this. Starting this morning when I turned on my laptop it was black for 10 minutes and then it starts loaing files. After it is finished loaing it goes to the regular Windows Vistas is loading screen. Then it goes black again and after 10 more minutes the mouse cursor shows up an nothing else. It nevr gets to the welcome screen where I can log on. It just stays black with a mouse cursor that responds when I move it. Please help quickly because I have homework ue soon for my summer class and I need to finish it tommorrow else I fail.
    P.S. Please don't tell me to restore my computer because I don't have my restore disk with me because I am currently studying abroad.

    Hi,
    Any help appreciated.  My printer is Photosmart C7288 All-in-One Printer.
    As of 2 days ago my printer has not been working. It comes up with several error messages after I switch it on. The first one is "Ink system failure: Ink system has failed. Unable to copy, recieve faxes or print. Refer to printer documentation. Error: 0xc18a0105. Turn power off then on again." 
    However when I turn power off then on again via the 'power' button, ".ink system failure Then the same original error message comes up (0xc18a0105). This is the most frequent error message and won't go away. Then I also keep getting a message saying "Photo Tray Problem: Lift output tray up, verify the photo tray is pushed in until it stops, lower output tray". Despite the fact that I have not used the photo tray in several months and it is in the correct position. 
    So far I have tried switching the printer on and off several times using the power button. I also switched the printer off at the plug last night (after it had been properly shut down) and switched it back on this morning. I have looked through the printer documentation but could not find any troubleshooting advice for this kind of problem. I have updated the HP driver using software update on my mac, and the problem is still there. 
    I'm getting desperate now, I rely on my printer/scanner/photocopier a lot!

    This is a long story, I suspect my Zen is dead but I'd be delighted to be proven wrong!
    Recently my Zen was not playing particular songs - a message saying "playback error" would come on the screen.
    I tried to replace the musiclibrary on the player by clearing all music files and adding the new ones. However, having cleared the music files I noticed that while the player now had no tracks on it, the information menu on the player still said the amount of memory used BEFORE i cleared the tracks was still being used. I switched off the player, with the intention of loadingthe musicon the next day. Now here's the problem that faces me.
    The Creative logo comes on, then the "rebuilding" status bar, which fills about /8 of the bar and then goes blank. The device is unresponsi've, but is still powered as the light by the switch is on. It doesn't switch off until it powers out, and the Creative media explorer doesnt recognise it when i plug it into the laptop.
    I have tried the reset button, but the player simply goes through the same sequence.
    PLEASE help - apart from the personal use I get from the player, I use it for work - the dictaphone is essential as I'm a journalist.
    Also, I bought this Zen when on holiday in New York, and being from Ireland, returning it to the store isn't an option and I'm fairly sure it's no longer in warrenty (bought in November 06) .

    Sounds like hardri've is going bad. The Creative website does have refurbs in the Saving Center section or you may be able to replace the hard dri've one that size would be pricey. Check to see if there are any solutions here http://epizenter.net/e07_plugins/forum/forum.php or post the problem see what info you can get.

    my uncle bought me an ipod as a gift for me couple of months ago..and for about 5 months, i was able to upadte songs into my ipod using the MAC OSX...but now, i got a new labtop and has windows XP, i installed the CD and downloaded itunes 7.01..
    then when i connect my ipod with the USB, it reads the following:
    DO NOT DISCONNECT
    and my computer cannot read the ipod...i always have to reset it to listen to my songs, but i cannot update new songs..

    One thing to note is that you can format the iPod as FAT32 (Windows format) and it "may" work on your Mac. So one thing you might try is plug it into the Windows machine and follow the directions here...

    Now that it is reformatted for Windows, go into the preferences and click on the iPod and click the box to "Enable Disk Mode". Now, take it and plug it into the Mac.
    It hopefully will show up on your Mac's desktop as a disk drive. You can grab your iTunes folder and drag it into the iPod to copy everything over onto the iPod's hard drive. Eject, move it back to the Laptop, open the iPod as a disk drive, and copy the iTunes folder onto your Laptop. You should now be able to add all your stuff to the iTunes library on that computer.
    Then delete that folder out of the iPod to free up room and then sync the iPod to iTunes on the laptop.

    Try this next.
    Go to Settings>Store >Apple ID, tap your ID and sign out. Then reboot the iPad, Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    Then go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and sign in again and see if the apps will work.
    If that doesn't work, try syncing with iTunes on your computer.
    Make sure that you are signed into the correct Apple ID on the iPad as well.

    on a UNIX based system, every file has it's own set of permissions who own it, who can read it or who can write to it. Sometimes, things get corrupted (often during an install or update, when administrator rights are used or not used....)
    However: Open the Harddisk Utility in the Applications/Utilities Folder. Select your Harddisk and klick on "repair permissions". Wait for some minutes (takes some time).
    You should do this not only now, but before and after every major update/change to your system.
    The next step, if this doesn't work, would be to manually locate the files EXS24 is missing, but for this better ask someone in the Logic Pro forum.
