Help! "Ghost" screensaver interrupting work.....

I have a "ghost" screensaver which is opening and closing, opening and closing every minute and I cannot locate it anywhere in my files. It is from http://www.bbc.co.uk/space and it's called Space Screensaver. I don't recall ever loading it but my son tells me may have loaded it over a year ago. The past few days it has popped up occasionally as I write, play games, surf the net, whatever I'm doing but yesterday and today, it interrupts every minute or so and if I don't move my mouse, it stays on.
It is not in my screensaver file and I have my screensaver set to Never put a screensaver on!! Where can I find this and delete it? It's driving me crazy!!
Any help is greatly appreciated and asap as my son has a Webinar (web seminar) in just 30 minutes for school.

Thanks for responding so quickly. I'll go over all of your suggestions. Ok, I had already checked these 2 files and did so yet again and no luck there.

I do not have an Application Support file. When I click on Applications, there is no Library file and hence no Application Support file. And no support file just within the Application file either. Unless, the "~/" before Library/Application Support means something I'm not aware of...??
If nothing there, see if there is reference to it in
Applications and
~/Library/Application Support
There is nothing called BBC Space.plist in the Library/Preferences file. In fact, I've used the Finder to locate any file with BBC in it or even Space in it with no luck! I tell you, it's a ghost file! lol
If you still cant find it go to the
~/Library/Preferences and look for something called
BBC Space.plist. Use that name as a search in
Finder.
How can I delete this? In what window? I don't know how to do that. Can you clarify, please?
Also with System Preferences closed, you can delete
any files called.
~/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.screensaver- -
- - - -.plist
Yup, I've re-entered the "re-selection" of Never putting on a screensaver at all and this thing is STILL popping up!!! I work from home and this is severely impacting my work performance. Help!
Then open System Preferences > Desktop & ScreenSaver
and make a selection just to register an action, then
reselect never if that's what you want and close Sys
Prefs.
Keep the suggestions coming! I'm willing to try anything. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Apple TV Screensaver Interrupts Movies

I've had my Apple TV2 for over a year now, and this behavior only just started happening. I'll be watching a movie streaming from Netflix, and suddenly the screen fades to black, making me think the scene has done this intentionally, but if I leave it long enough, I'll see the default Apple TV screensaver photo slide show start. Meanwhile, the audio of the movie is still playing. If I hit the "play/pause" button on the remote, the movie picture returns.
I just "Restored" it a few days ago because it got stuck on the screen where it's trying to set the date & time but can't, and I found instructions here to "Restore" when that happens. This screensaver-interrupt behavior started then.

Liked the humor, lets use the word copied to my external drive, would not want to destroy my new 3 TB drive!
I followed all of the directions and it did not resolve my issue of Apple TV being able to recognize the movie and listing it for viewing.
I have not changed the process of copying my movies to my hard drive since I starting converting over to Apple TV. I thought is was possibly a recent software update on my Wondershare program and I actually reverted back to older version and recopied the movie and it still would not work.
I compared the properties of the 3 movies that I recently copied having the problems, to various movies in my library and there seems to be no difference between any of the movies.
Is there a way to revert to an older version of ITunes and test that?

Screensaver that works while presentation playing?

i have a self standing touch-screen kisok presentation. i've noticed that when the keynote presentation is playing, the screensaver will not come on. in this case the screensaver has been loaded with images very relevant to the presentation and i'd like to use it as an 'attract loop' of sorts.
is there some setting that i can change or a third party application that will play overtop of the presentation during idle time?

thanks. let me know what you fiind. due to your mention of the auto-restart feature, i picked up keynote 3 and have it installed. i had the same problem with the hot corner not working and figured there was some mechanism in place to prevent it.
i also tried lauching (remotely with ARD) screensaverengine.app while the presentation was running and was unsuccessful. an always open applescript seemed as if it might be a possibility, but with the screensaver not working, i can't figure any way to look for the idle status needed to make sure i didn't interrupt someone using the kiosk.
my searches have not turned up and third party screen savers that will work either.

ITunes Screensaver Not Working

I cannot get the iTunes Screensaver to work.
It will not appear in the list of options in the System Preferences for screensaver.
The saver files is def there in HD>System>Library>Screensavers.
My iTunes Music Folder is stored on an external HD, and the files "iTunes Library" and "iTunes Music Library.xml" are stored in Home>Music>iTunes as suggested by Apple.
Anyone got any thoughts?

You are absolutely right - the cube video card doesnt support Core Image so the itunes and RSS screensavers are disabled.
Seems there is not a work around other than some serious hacking of the graphic card which I am going no-where near!

How do I get my iTunes Album Artwork Screensaver to work again?

I purchased 'Don't you' by Simple Minds a few weeks ago. As soon as I bought this song my iTunes Album Artwork Screensaver only showed that album... How do I get my screensaver to work again?

Help viewer does not work after update to 10.4.4

Since updating to 10.4.4 my Help viewer does not work, and all of the troubleshooting fixes suggested in other threads have not had any success in resolving this. I've noted that when I go to Users>Library>Documentation>Help there is no mac.help file - can someone tell me if that means that I've lost the file altogether and need to reinstall it? I get to the first screen of the viewer, but the links from there don't work. Thanks for any help that you can provide!

Thanks for your suggestion. I downloaded OnyX and ran the cleaning function. After restarting, I opened Help and once again the first screen appeared fine. But again most of the links did not work, though those under the "What's New" heading did work. I might add that I had previously tried a variety of suggestions posted in another thread, which included deleting from the caches folder in Home>Library several files such as com.apple.helpui and help.plist in the Preferences folder. (As noted in my previous post this evening, I also created another user but that also did not have any effect.) Any other ideas? Thanks

Help button is not working in Infoview

Hi All ,
I am working on BO XI R2 environment and help button is not working properly in my infoview.
I can get help files from Admin console but the same is not true with infoview.I got two different server installations, one of them its working fine but not for the other.
I checked for help files in IIS and they are there , even I verified web.config file as well for infoview and it also seems to be correct.
Please advice what could be the reason.

This kind of problem is known when webgui is being started from an IAC, e.g. HRWPC_FC_EXEC
You have to set parameter ~webgui_popups 1 in the service file of this IAC.

Event Log Help Links No Longer Working?

Have the help links in the Windows XP event log entries been discontinued?
They used to open up the Help and Support Center with further information about the Event Log error if it was available.
For some time now they have all just given a "page not found" error, which then re-directs to Bing with offered results that are no use at all!
This happens now on every XP system I've tried it on.
As a user of Windows 8.1 as well as XP, I'm well aware that the Windows 8 Event Log help links have never worked so far, but the XP ones always did, and despite the looming "End of Support" I can see no reason for all that information to have been
removed.
Any explanation for this?

Hi - thank you DaveHawley for the report. Just wanted to confirm that I've passed this on to the team that looks after the redirect service behind the "More Info" link.
There have been some major changes in how this redirection works over the years as well as in the last months. The most recent efforts added the option to enable use of the TechNet Wiki [sample]
to allow the community to comment & contribute for a given component. I'm only guessing here, but this might have accidentally impacted XP.

ITunes Helper Module has stopped working

I just downloaded the new version of iTunes and now iTunes and Quicktime wont open at all. When I click on iTunes or when I first turn the computer on, a window pops up that says the iTunes Helper module has stopped working. Then another window pops up right after that says "iTunes has stopped working". It checks for a solution to the problem and then says "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." When I try to open QuickTime, it says "Runtime error! Program:C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QuickTime Player.exe This application has requested the RunTime to terminate it in an unusual way." I have Vista which seems to cause problems with the firewall and iTuens, so I turned off the firewall from my security software, switched on the windows firewall, and made sure the settings were right. I even tried doing a System restore to the previous version (same problems) and then tried reinstalling the new version (Still same problems). Anyone have any suggestions?!?!

I have the exact problem you have. I tried deleting (went into program files and deleted the folders ) from my system and reinstalling it. It worked until i rebooted my system, I am still on xp. The restore doesnt help either. It cant be my ipod ( its quiet old!) as it isnt even connected to my system at start up. I think maybe a bug with the new version that will eventually have more and more users affected when they update. I f i find a solution I will post asap... good luck

In P6 P6 Help link is not working

My P6 help link is not working in help menu.
P6 Library and Support link are working.
As suggested in another discussion i tried to update link in Admin>Application setting and restarted weblogic, But system is still taking some other link than i defined in application setting.
Can anybody help?

Solution:
In the P6 EPPM Admin application in the corresponding configuration, In P6 Help url we have modified the url from http://hostname:8203/p6help/help to http://hostname:8203/p6help/ and we restarted the P6 server in weblogic console.
Then everything fine now,

Pre+ help pages don't work

Does anybody know why the Palm Pre+ help page don't work? Everytime I ask for help on ANY subject all I get is a message that reads "Failed to load requested page"
I guess the palm is trying to load a page from the internet, but the server can't provide/find it. This implies that the problem is probably at HP's end
