Help! Need help with preflight package script

I am trying to write a package with Iceberg to push Office 2004 to 250 Macs. I need a preflight script with a condition that will stop my script if /Applications/Microsoft Office 2004 exists OR if OFFICE 2004 exists. Don't know if searching on the folder name is the best or if there is better way
If it doesn't exist I want it to continue with with placing Office 2004 in the /Applications folder.
I don't know how to do conditions (If, then, end)
PREFLIGHT SCRIPT
IF /Applications/Microsoft Office 2004 folder exist = STOP
IF /Applications/Microsoft Office 2004 folder doesn't exist continue with laying down files/folder in the package.
LAYDOWN FILES
LAY DOWN FILES IN ICEBERG FILE SECTION OF THE PACKAGE
POSTFLIGHT SCRIPT
#!/bin/sh
#Change to root directory
cd /
# Move Microsoft Office X folder to Messages Received folder
mv /Applications/Microsoft\ Office\ X /Messages\ Received
#Open Office 2004 Installer
open /Applications/Utilities/Installers/Office2004Installer
ALL Mac OS X (10.4.6)
ALL Mac OS X (10.4.6)
ALL   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

A simple condition (not using iceberg) would be:
#!/bin/sh
if [ -e "/Applications/Microsoft Office 2004.app" ]
then
echo "Microsoft Office 2004 exists, aborting installation"
exit 1
fi
open -a "/Applications/Utilities/Installers/Office2004Installer"
If Microsoft Office 2004 is installed then the script will exit with a message. If Microsoft Office 2004 is not there then the last line will be executed and the installer will open.

  • Help needed please, with Iphone stuck with apple picture and progress bar after software update attempted

    Help needed please, everytime I try to update the software version on my iphone it comes up with a message saying it could not be completed and is now frozen with the apple picture and progress bar on it. Do I unplug it and hope the macbook pro sees it again, I also stupidly did not back up before starting the download which I realise I will have to go back to the previous back up. This keeps happening, everytime I do this type of update, I'm starting to think I should just give up on updating my software on the Iphone. I thought it was happening because I was using a window based computer to do the updates, this time I used my Macbook Pro. Please somebody help

  • Needed: contractor with ID and script experience

    Our business is looking for a contractor with extensive InDesign & scripting experience. Here's a basic idea of the problem we are trying to solve:
    Is it possible to create a script which copies text from our blog, and/or other websites into our templates? Could we use a script to pull article headlines, body text, and quotes from the website(s) and place them into the ID templates we already use? This would save a lot of transcription time which could be used to focus on book layout/pictures/etc.
    If this does not seem possible, or you need more information, please reply to this post.
    If this is possible, and you have the necessary skills to help, please submit your résumé and a link to your website to [email protected] We will only reply to the applicant we deem most qualified.

    What you are asking for is indeed possible, but it may not be the most efficient way to achieve what I believe are your actual goals, and here is why:
    When you publish data to a website, you usually have to insert a lot of formatting code, which means that the actual content becomes mixed with what, from InDesign's point of view, is garbage, which means that you have to spend a lot of effort to clean it up.
    If, as I presume it true for a blog, the content is stored in a database, it is much, much better to retrieve the raw content, without the formatting "garbage", directly from the server. How to do that depends on your blog backend, but usually it involves making calls to some kind of API, or a server-side script that pulls the requested data.
    Once you have the data it is simply a matter of putting it into InDesign. If you are lucky enough to get the data as XML, then it is simply a matter of importing and styling, possibly with some xsl transformations.
    If you are really lucky, your blog backend may allow you to publish the content as XML/XHTM/RSS/ATOM etc, in which case there is no need for any specific server-side work, as you simple can pull the content directly through a regular http request.
    The point I am trying to make is that you should pick up the content before it is littered with "garbage", instead of trying to clean it up afterwards. That is what you do if you have to do it by hand, but you really should try not to replicate your manual workflow, but instead go for what is a good automated solution

    Welcome to the forum. You will need to learn a couple things if you want to receive help and not get flamed to death:
    1) All code needs to be posted within code tags. You can read up on them here:
    http://forum.java.sun.com/help.jspa?sec=formatting
    You want to make it as easy as possible for the volunteers here to help you. That means making your code readable.
    2) Do not put "urgent" "need help" "hurry please" in your posts if you are smart. Definitely don't put them in the header of the post. The urgency is yours, not ours. Putting that stuff in there only turns people off. If you have a problem deemed worthwhile by the volunteers here, if you have put thought into your post so you make it easy as possible for others to help you, and if you show some effort on your own, you are almost guaranteed to get timely help.
    3) List all error messages completely.
    4) Keep all necessary code, get rid of all unnecessary code. Your code should be compilable on its own, but it should not contain anything that isn't necessary for demonstrating your problem.
    5) Specifics:
    Why are you throwing out all those exceptions?
    Why is everything in one big huge GUI class? Break your code down into functional units. Make sure the logic works in a non-GUI way, THEN add a GUI class.
    Why the huge main method? The main should be short and sweet.
    Why the static inner classes? Do you know what is the difference between static inner classes and non-static inner classes?
    Why all the static variables anyway? You are doing procedural programming with an OOP language. You should use OOP if you can with an OOP language.
    Sorry, but this code looks like it was thrown together in a big hurry. I think that you have a lot of work to do. Good luck!

  • Help needed for loss of package variables!

    Seem to have an annoying problem which may just be a misundertanding about libraries.
    I have two forms. Initially form 1 created initialised two package variables (of type ora_java.jobject) using the ora_java.new_global_ref function and these persisted across multiple user interactions and existed when form 2 was called (as new form / sharing libraries. Form 2 could call form 1 and the package variables still had values OK.
    These package variables were placed in library which only contained this package and was attached to both forms.
    I needed more functionality on form 2 so I created a menu module which had to run some code from form 2. I put most of the code (actually imported as it's mostly java classes) into the same library as the package containing the variables and attached the expanded pll to both forms and the menu module. Now when I run form 1 values for the package variables exist for the life of form 1 and form 2, but when I try to reference them after the initial display of form 2 they have disappeared!
    Also if form 1 is called again then it behaves differently in that references to the variable are lost after the form is first displayed.
    All forms and menus have shared libraries.
    I have spent some time playing with different variables and it's the same regardless of the variable type.
    Must be something to do with the library I think but don't know what - please help before I tear all my hair out!

    Ian,
    Ensure you have set the SHARE_LIBRARY_DATA parameter in your CALL_FORM statement.
    Also deleting the .fmx files, disconnecting from the database and re-building the form usually helps when everything else fails and you have not made any other changes you can think of that may have caused it to break.
    Also check that the forms are pointing to the right version of your .pll. Removing the attached library, adding it back and recompiling should do the trick.
    Hope this helps, before you lose your hair!

  • Help needed for Time Calc Java Script

    Hi,
    I am trying to create a timesheet in PDF and have hit a speed bump. Is there anyone there who could provide me with a script that calculated the difference between 2 times? (Field2 time)-(Feild 1 Time) = Duration.I am desperate and have tried everything.
    I proccess the payroll for a company and all of the 500 or so timesheets that I received each fortnight are paper copies and I am pulling my hair out. I need to use Adobe forms (We have Adobe Pro 9 and I am using the XML forms, not live cycle) as the serach engine that we use for emails cannot search on excel documents.
    I have no Java script experience and I am getting completely lost in the subject. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks anyone who can help at all.

  • Help and Information with Wine Package Arch64

    Hello,
    Sorry if i put this in the wrong area or anything like, i'm new on Arch and on this forum and sorry about my poor english, i'm from Brazil,english it's not my native language
    I'm using Arch for 2 days, i was a Debian user, actually, i'm still have Debian on my master hard drive, but, i'm planning to change for arch because i really like the distro.
    I was giving a shot with Arch and i really liked alot the system, it's really simple, really fast, really stable and the most important to me: REALLY UPDATED!
    Well, i need more like an information, and i cant find-it. I'm maintainer of some apps at WineHQ and i prefer to use Wine Development release instead of the Stable Release,
    The wine now is in Stable with no development release (Wine 1.6), and i really don't know if the Arch Packages maintain the Stable (most likely) or when there's a Development release they jump to the next Development release (i think will be 1.7.0).
    If the wine will continue on stable release, i want to know how to compile a package to Wine Development (and in the future, i may create a AUR package to help the Arch Community, something like wine-dev).
    Well, i've tryed the basic (classic) steps (configure,make,make install), but, on debian i have the apt-get build-dep to get all wine compilation dependencies and on arch i can't find then.
    On the configure i get the following dependencies missing:
    configure: libOSMesa 32-bit development files not found (or too old), OpenGL rendering in bitmaps won't be supported.
    configure: OpenCL 32-bit development files not found, OpenCL won't be supported.
    configure: libhal 32-bit development files not found, no legacy dynamic device support.
    configure: lib(n)curses 32-bit development files not found, curses won't be supported.
    configure: libsane 32-bit development files not found, scanners won't be supported.
    configure: libgphoto2 32-bit development files not found, digital cameras won't be supported.
    configure: libgphoto2_port 32-bit development files not found, digital cameras won't be auto-detected.
    configure: liblcms 32-bit development files not found, Color Management won't be supported.
    configure: gstreamer-0.10 base plugins 32-bit development files not found, gstreamer support disabled
    configure: libcapi20 32-bit development files not found, ISDN won't be supported.
    configure: libgsm 32-bit development files not found, gsm 06.10 codec won't be supported.
    I'm trying to install lib32-* packages via pacman but, even then, i can't solve this dependencies to compile.
    I'm also instaled the base-devel package
    I'm searched on both Arch Official Packages and AUR but i can't find a wine-dev package/pkgbuild.
    Sorry if i said something stupid or wrong, i'm new on the arch system, i'm still learning how everything work rsrs.

    the pkgbuild and other files needed to build wine are here : https://projects.archlinux.org/svntogit … kages/wine
    the logs of previous versions are here : https://projects.archlinux.org/svntogit … kages/wine
    For building wine you'll need to install the multilib-devel group .
    Also read up on ABS and makepkg in the wiki.

    Now I tried to make a archlinux package for the psptoolchain (PSP's are so nice )
    I already got a working package for the psp-gcc and the psp-binutils (wrote my own PKGBUILD's) which came with the psptoolchain.
    But now I got stuck with psp-newlib and pspsdk.
    At the moment I'm building all the packages separately, but later I'll try to make one package for the whole psptoolchain....
    So here comes my problem with psp-newlib and pspsdk...
    psp-gcc -march=i686 -O2 -pipe -G0 -Wall -I../../src/base -I../../src/kernel -c sceAtrac3plus.S
    sceAtrac3plus.S:0: error: bad value (i686) for -march
    Assembler messages:

    And here comes my PKGBUILD for psp-newlib:
    # Contributor: [email protected]
    pkgname=newlib
    pkgver=1.13.0
    pkgrel=1
    pkgdesc="GCC for psp-devel"
    url="http://ps2dev.org/psp/Tools/Toolchain/"
    depends=()
    makedepends=()
    source=(ftp://sources.redhat.com/pub/newlib/$pkgname-$pkgver.tar.gz)
    md5sums=('3d07cc367a22b78c44227456b0d3b7dc')
    build() {
    export PSPDEV="/usr/local/pspdev"
    export PATH="$PATH:$PSPDEV/bin"
    cp $startdir/newlib-1.13.0.patch /$startdir/src/$pkgname-$pkgver
    cd $startdir/src/$pkgname-$pkgver
    cat newlib-1.13.0.patch | patch -p1
    cd /$startdir/src/$pkgname-$pkgver
    BUILDDIR="/tmp/pspdev" PSPDEV="/usr/local/pspdev" ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/pspdev --target=psp
    make || return 1
    make DESTDIR=$startdir/pkg install
    I know, using newlib as pkgname is bad, but later I'll change it to psp-newlib and I'll replace the $pkgname's with newlib (I hope this idea isn't too bad)
    One last thing: psp-binutils and psp-gcc are installed in "/usr/local/pspdev"
    I hope you can help me
    thanks, and have a nice day

    After a long break I decided to work on the PKGBUILD again.
    Now I got two PKGBUILD's: one for the psptoolchain and one for pspsdk (pspsdk gets updated very often, so I decided to create an extra PKGBUILD).
    I'm not sure if my PKGBUILD's fit the PKGBUILD-standard
    First thing before I post my PKGBUILD's: I'm not finished with adding all required fields (as license and so on)!
    Here comes the one for psptoolchain:

    And here the one for pspsdk:

    ./configure --prefix=$startdir/pkg/usr/local/pspdev -with-pspdev=/usr/local/pspdev
    make || return 1
    make DESTDIR=$startdir/pkg install
    Some explanation: I've used this one very often: --prefix=$startdir/pkg/usr/local/pspdev
    Explanation: When I wanted to create only one PKGBUILD for the psptoolchain, some dependences were in $startdir/pkg. If you take  --prefix=/usr/local/pspdev he won't get some depencies (mostly header files), which means I had to create single PKGBUILD's for every part of the psptoolchain (that would be 6 single parts).
    Those --prefix-changes don't stop my psp environment from working! (tested it myself - I comiled almos all sample apps which were included in the pspsdk - and all compiled well)
    I hope we can find a better solution than mine.
    Thanks in advance

  • Help needed imediately with photos in swf project!

    Firts of all thanks in advance.
    Ive made a website with flash. I have 6 photos as thumbnails that are buttons. I want to know , when a thumbnail is clicked how to activate lightbox/flashbox to bring up the bigger image via light/flashbox. What function to I need to apply in the actionscript window to the thumbnail that is converted to a symbol as a button
    I am using Flash CS5 and actionscript 3.
    Please any help would be greatful. Ive been seearching and trying for 3 whole days with no luck

    Give a event listener to the btns,
    btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, openbigimage);
    function openbigimage(e:MouseEvent):void
    //write your code for opening big image here
    //Look this for reference

  • Help needed working with layers and exporting from acrobat3d

    hi, i am repostng this message becaus eihad no success last time, and I am working under a tight deadline for a school project. any help will be tremendously appreciated
    I received an Acrobat 3d file with a model that was originally created in CATIA v4 embedded in it.
    I need to export the model for use in rhino. Currently the model size is enormous as an IGES that Windows runs out of memory when attempting to open. This is a bit wasteful since I do not need all of the model, I just need a layer of it. I noticed that when exporting to IGES you have the option to export hidden or not, and I have hidden the layers i do not need (via Isolation) and still I get the whole file.
    Is there a way I can do this? export the file With the layers under the model tree? or is there a way I can delete a layer? or how can I make the hidden object feature work when Exporting IGES as not to get the things I dont need?
    I read that you can open the model in Toolkit to edit it but it wont let me, open it... no "edit 3d in toolkit" option and when i open the pdf in toolkit it says unknown file....
    is there a way i can open the embedded model in CATIA again?
    thanks for the help

    Please email me your contact information at [email protected] and I might be able to help you.
    Thanks.

  • Help needed quick with AGP problems

    i bought a Radeon 9600 256MB vidcard from Sapphire today, and when i tried it in my K7N2 Delta ILSR, the system would boot, load windows, hang, then refuse to boot unless i removed the radeon ... since i dont have any onboard video, i've been using an Nvidia Vanta before the radeon, any ideas what the prob might be?

    thanks for ur help btw, i had solved the problem by moving the memory from one slot to another, does this give u any idea about any underlying problem with the motherboard??
    I've already given you the top 2 PSU choices, and Bonz has linked you to his sticky on RAM choices. Please read what's been given to you already. As far as RAM I would recommend a good quality Mushkin or Corsair.   Run this to test your memory Memtest
    Good Luck
