audio missing - export to html & pdf
both soundtrack and audio on specific pages play fine as slideshow and as export Quicktime.
exports to html & pdf are missing audio entirely.
the audio assets are not in the html folder.
i am not doing anything complicated, one .tiff image per page, approx 12mg apiece.
one soundtrack and one additional page specific audio track.
box checked for saving audio files in preferences and while 'saving'.
tried triggering with 'begin audio' builds.
tried different approved formats for audio.
tried different themes. at default settings.
i am out of ideas. any suggestions?

Sound files are not included in html or pdf exports. There is no way to make it happen. If you need the sound you can export as Quicktime.

Help needed with missing data problem in CRVS2010

We recently upgraded the reporting engine in our product to use Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010 (previously engine was CR9). Our quote report, which has numerous subreports and lots of conditional formatting, started losing data when a quote took more than a single page to be printed. We knew the SQL results included the data, but the report was not printing those lines at all or sometimes printing a partial line. In addition, the running total on the report would exclude the lines that were being missed on the next page. In one example submitted by a customer, 3 lines were skipped between pages.
I think I have identified two potential issues that document the possibility of data not being included in the report.
The first potential issue is an issue with the "suppress blank section" option being checked. This issue is supposedly fixed with ADAPT01483793, being released someday with service pack 2 for CRVS2010.
The second potential issue is using shared variables. This issue is supposedly fixed with ADAPT01484308, also targeted for SP2.
Our quote report does not explicitly use shared variables with any of the subreports, but it does have several subreports, each in its own section that has the "supress blank section" option checked. We have other reports that use this feature, as well, and they are not exhibiting the problem.
One different thing about the quote report is that it has a section with multiple suppression options selected. The section has a conditional suppression formula, which controls whether the section is included at all within the report. The section also has the suppress blank section option selected. There are multiple fields within the report that are each conditionally suppressed. In theory, the section's suppress formula could evaluate to true, yet all of the fields within the section are suppressed (due to null values), and then the "suppress blank section" option would kick in.
The missing data only seems to happen when the section is not being suppressed, and at least one of the fields is being included in the report. If I clear the "suppress blank section" check box, and change the section formula to also include the rules applied to the fields in the section, the missing data problem seems to be resolved.
Is this related to ADAPT01483793? Will it be fixed in service pack 2?
If more details are needed, I would be happy to provide a sample report with stored data.

Have a look at the Record Selection formula in CR Designer ( stand alone ) and when exported to RPT format opening that report in the Designer also.
There's been a few issues with => logic in the record selection formula. It could be you are running into this problem. Look for NOT inserted into your selection formula.
Oh and SP2 is coming out shortly so it may resolve the issue. But if you want you could purchase a support, or if you have a support contract then create a case in SMP and get a rep to work with you to debug the issue.
If you have not try the Trial Version of CR 2011, put it on a VM-ware image or Test PC so you don't corrupt anything for production and have a look at and test it in that designer also. If you purchase a case and it is a bug then you'll get a credit back for the case.

Help needed in Excel Exporting

Hi,
I got a database fieldcalled category.
My report is grouped on category.
Category can be Agriculture or MNO or Energy.
So i am getting 3 groups thats fine and the data obtained is tested to be correct.
Now wen i export the report into excel.
Agriculture should be exported in sheet 1 or excel and
MNO should be exported in sheet2 of same workbook and
Energy should be exported in sheet 3 of same workbook
is it possible. Please Help.

I think it is not possible to export the data into different sheets of excel in crystal reports. You can try third party tools like Visual Cut from the following link

Help Needed: Acrobat Pro XI - Reduced Sized PDF vs. Optimized PDF

Hopefully some of you folks can help me, as I cannot get in touch with Adobe customer service. I recently upgraded to Acrobat Pro XI. In my old version of Acrobat Pro, I used to be able to take a PDF file of large size (let's say 10 MB) and shrink it down considerably with relative ease (down to less than 1 MB). The file could then be easily emailed, shared, read, and most importantly wouldn't take up tons of hard drive space. With this new version of Acrobat Pro XI, that same 10 MB file barely reduces down to 7 or 8 MB. I have played with the various settings in both the File -> Save As Other -> Reduced Sized PDF and File -> Save As Other -> Optimized PDF. Regardless of what I try, I cannot achieve anywhere near the same compression results as what I used to be able to achieve with my old version of Pro. I can get the file size reduced, but the reduced file quality is trash.
Has anyone else encountered this problem as well? Do any of you have any suggestions on what to do to fix?? I primarily scan a document as a PDF file with my HP OfficeJet Pro, and then reduce the PDF file size after the scan. I could scan the document with lower DPI to begin with (currently scan 300 dpi typically grayscale), but then I don't have the scanned image quality that I need to reduce the file down so that it can be reprinted later at a good enough quality.

I had previously ran the audit, and 99% + of my bloat is in the image. All of the other possibilities for bloat do not even add up to 1%. For my purposes as a Financial Advisor, I print out blank applications & account forms, fill out the paperwork by hand, and then scan copies of the completed paperwork back into my computer for electronic filing. Some of these completed client documents can be 50 to 75 pages long ... so the PDF scanned at 300 dpi obviously starts out as a substantially sized document that can take up 25, 35, or 45 MB per scan. The crazy thing is that the old version of Acrobat Pro (I believe it was version 7 or 8) would take a 45 MB file and compress it down almost to 1/10th of the oiginal size. As a result, a 45 MB file would end up as a 4.5 MB file. This significant reduction was always accomplished using the one button selection "Reduce PDF" command ... had nothing to do with optimizing the PDF with the old version. Once I ended up with the 4.5 MB file, I could open that file at a later date and print out a page that I needed and you couldn't hardly tell if it was the original or a scanned copy. There was no loss of quality whatsoever!! The Reduce PDF size in Acrobat XI just doesn't work well ... will take that 45 MB file and reduce it down to 42 MB which defeats the whole purpose of the Reduce PDF command in the first place. If I play around with the inputs in the Optimze PDF, I can shrink the file size lower but lose way too much image quality. The only variable that has changed from my old scanning results vs. my new scanning results is the upgrade from Acrobat Pro 7 to Acrobat Pro XI ... everything else that I'm doing is the exact same. Same thing applies when I create a PDF portfolio from multiple PDF documents ... a 150 MB PDF Portfolio will barely reduce in file size.

Any idea how to fix this?

Help needed to view documents send in .pdf portfolio - only gray screen visible

Various clients are complaining that they are unable to view/retrieve documents I have forwarded in .pdf portfolio format. All they see is a blank - grey - screen. Any help to resolve this would be appreciated.

Make sure they are opening the files in Adobe Reader or Acrobat only, or in Internet Explorer using one of those. Make sure you understand the various ways they might open the file without using Adobe Reader or Acrobat, such as in FireFox, Chrome or Safari, or Preview on a Mac. Make sure they have a sufficiently up to date copy of Reader/Acrobat too.

Urgent Help needed : Application execution login throws html header

when I click "Run Application" I am directed to the login page. After I provide the details I get a message like below on the browser

The application id is 102 and upon successful login the page #4 should be coming up. This was working until friday evening.. not sure what might have changed to cause this..

What is your version of Application Express, version of the database, and edition of the database?
- Apex 3.1.1.00.09, DB is 10g (10.2.0.1) Enterprise Edition
What changed in your environment/database since Friday?
- nothing changed on the database or the apex backend environment. The host OS is linux, and nothing changed. Am suspecting this could be something to do with the cache or cookie settings.. but not sure.. tried to get error messages from apache logs, but nothing seems to be useful.
Can you reproduce this on apex.oracle.com?
- sorry, am not sure how to reproduce this issue. I have the OEHR sample application on the same workspace, and that seems to be working fine.. So I guess something happened to either the login page in my application or something in my application definition might be a trigger for this.. If i know how I can reproduce, I would be able to figure out what happened to cause this issue..

Help needed for missing VC# Templates

Hello, i recently installed Visual Studio 2013 pro u4 and everything went fine during the install. But now when i create a new project for visual C#(every template) it tells me my Visual C# Project System Package did not load properly. I hve tried to repair
it with the installer but it did not help. Its the only template that didn't install. Any help is apreciated, thank you.

^If this is the correct way of using this fix ("devenv /ResetSkipPkgs" in the start menu search) then, unfortunately, it did not work for me.

Help needed: Read-only network database for PDFs

I am a relative beginner when it comes to using pdfs.
I am looking to set up a network with a database of pdf files on a central server which can be accessed (read-only) from the terminal pcs on the network.
Can anyone suggest a simple way to build a database and go about this?

Urgent Help Needed with missing frames

Hi guys
I have a student with an urgent problem that I can't seem to fix.
The student is making a film having shot it on mini DV tape. He has been editing the film in Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5, editing sections in different sequences.
The problem he is having is when he moves a selection of clips on his timeline random frames or half frames disappear, leaving a very quick flash to black.
I cant work out why the frames are disappearing when moving clips up and down the timeline, any suggestions?

The settings for a sequence cannot be changed once it is created.
If source footage is being interpreted wrongly, right-click the source file on the project panel and choose Modify > Interpret Footage. You can now create a new sequence that matches the real properties of your footage.
Dragging one sequence into another won't cure the problem; you have to copy the footage from the timeline into the new sequence so it reverts to the new sequence frame rate (assuming the footage has been defined properly in the project panel it will then be correct).

Need help exporting multiple individual PDF files out of Indesign CC

I work for a monthly publication and we send our files to the press at the end of the month. There are around 190+ pages that need to be exported as individual PDF's and each PDF needs to be labled as their correct page number. Since we often are backed up against the wall at our deadline, we really need a way to export all these files at one time. Is there a way to export multiple PDF files at one time in Indesign CC?

You could script InDesign to export each page as individual PDF with specific export presets and labeled with correct page number.
But you could also use Acrobat Pro for this task (sorry for the certainly wrong translation of the Acrobat UI – I use a german version ...):
Export the whole publication as 1 PDF file (pp. 1-190).
Open it in Acrobat Pro and choose »Tools › Extract Pages«.
Type 1 to 190 and check the box »extract pages as single pages«, choose the location where to extract to and acrobat automatically numbers your new PDFs sequentially from 1 to x. (Caution: it doesn’t take the correct page number, but numbers sequentially, so it is important to have a PDF from pp. 1-190 in the correct order.)
So with this (as mentioned – sorry for German ):

Acrobat X combines several images into one when exporting to HTML

I'm trying to export a PDF that contains a table of text and images to HTML. When I do, Acrobat correctly places the text in an HTML table. The individual images, however, are combined into a single image and appear outside the table. Here's a sample PDF.
The images in the PDF are simple sparklines. They're generated in Excel 2011 (Mac). Excel, bless it, can't export sparklines to HTML on its own. So I'm exporting to PDF instead. When I open the PDF in Acrobat, I can select and manipulate the images individually, so I don't think they're already combined before the PDF>HTML export. They are afterwards, though. Since the total number of rows that need to be exported to HTML is about 2,000, exporting the images from Acrobat individually isn't a working solution.
The image that Acrobat exports doesn't even look that great, but a working export would put me miles ahead of where I am now. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Generic advice, which has been true ever since Acrobat 1.0. The fact that you can convert X to PDF, and PDF to Y, does not mean that this is ever a good way to convert X to Y. Too much information is lost at each stage.
