Help needed from Adobe for unauthorised activity on my account

Help please!
I bought some education software from an Adobe supplier on the recommendation of my school. It turns out (without me knowing or being told when I placed the order) that I was being sold old software, at what he now claims was cost price (interesting as I subsequently bought the next version for just $30 more). I have not been able to register that software as it was the wrong version for my region, and after a month of trying I asked for a refund.
He is now accessing my account, (probably from a link in an email i sent him!!) and is trying to get the software he sold me registered so he doesn't have to refund me!
Okay, so bad enough that I have hassles with this "person" but worse that he has access to my account and I seem unable to change this.
This whole process has been a nightmare!! I need to close two open cases immediately but can't get hold of Adobe by phone or on chat!!! Help please!

    The first time I used adobe export pdf it worked well. However the next time and every other time I try to convert a pdf doc to word docx I get the error message at the end of the uploading session. "pdf doc failed to export to m,icrosoft word.  There was an unexpected problem.
    Anyone overcome this problem?

                   Thanks for that info.  I was aware of the 100MB limit but 
    your response made me think again and go back to the problem and this is 
    what I found. The first  pdf document I uploaded into Adobe export pdf was  43
    MB and it went through fine. when I looked at the conversion to Word  docx I
    found it had been transformed into 83MB.
    So the conversion (which was a children's book with lots of images in it) 
    resulted in an increase of MBs by a factor of 1.7.  
    The second pdf document I uploaded was 64MB and this failed. If I apply the
    1.7 factor then the Word docx I wanted was going to be 109MB and therefore
    over  the 100MB limit.
    I didn't know that converting pdf to word would increase the MB like that. 
    Why, I don't know so thanks for your help I've learnt something new.

    Did you set what OWB guide says:
    To execute a process flow with an email activity, you may need to access different host machines and ports. New security measures implemented in Oracle Database 11g Release 1 restrict access to hosts and ports. You must explicitly grant access to hosts and ports that the email activity accesses using the DBMS_NETWORK_ACL_ADMIN package.
    For example, the user OWBSYS needs to send an email through the mail server mail.example.com using port 25. The DBA must perform the following steps:
    1. Create an Access Control List (ACL) for the user OWBSYS using the following command:
    EXECUTE DBMS_NETWORK_ACL_ADMIN.CREATE_ACL
    (’acl_for_owb_cc.xml’,’ACL for Control Center’,’OWBSYS’,’CONNECT’);
    The ACL has no access control effect unless it is assigned to network target.
    2. Assign the Access Control List (ACL) to a network host, and optionally specify a TCP port range. Use the following command:
    EXECUTE DBMS_NETWORK_ACL_ADMIN.ASSIGN_ACL (’acl_for_owb_cc.xml’,’mail.example.com’,25)
    3. Commit the changes made using the COMMIT command.

  • Getting help/attention from Adobe

    Hey, does anyone have experience or advice on how best to make sure Adobe's aware of problems and maybe get responses>
    I'm aware of 3 possible ways:
    1) Post in these forums. You'll probably get a response from other helpful and knowledgeable users, so this is great for cases where I'm making a mistake and there's a better way to do it, or if there's a bug but it has workarounds. You probably won't get a response from Adobe, and I don't know how carefully Adobe reads these messages (if at all), so I don't know if it's a good way to point out bugs.
    2) Fill out the "feature request/bug report" form at http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform. Adobe will read it, but won't respond, so it's a good way to report bugs, but you won't get any advice on workarounds.
    3) Adobe support. Evidently (I haven't tried it yet) it's $39 per incident. I'm a little dismayed there's no free support at all, but I guess I could have figured that out before I bought, so caveat emptor.
    So far I've been doing both #1 and #2, but I'm not sure how helpful this is in terms of getting Adobe to actually fix the bugs. I know with some software companies, the metric they listen to loudest when deciding what bugs to prioritize fixing is what bugs are generating real support calls, so maybe #3 would help too.
    On the other hand, I'm loathe to pay $39 to have Adobe tell me something is a bug that hasn't been fixed and I'm no better off for having called. (You don't get your money back in that case, do you? I can also think of examples of software companies that charge for support but not if the thing you needed help with is a result of a demonstrable bug.)
    Anyway, I'd love to hear what experiences you all have had with this or what advice you have.

    Lee Jay, thanks. I like your classification of the 3 categories, and I guess a good chunk of the subtlety here is figuring out which one of the 3 a given problem falls into.
    Naturally #2 is always a possibility -- I'm fairly new to Lightroom, but knowledgeable about computers and software in general and usually pretty good about figuring out the right way to do something if it does exist. Assuming I'm doing things correctly and the application is acting up, I'd be a lot better off if it falls into #1 but I fear it might be #3.
    It's that darn #3 category that makes software troubleshooting so hard... (I'm a software developer myself, so I know this one from the other side too.)
    Any advice on where Adobe's paid support fits into there? I guess they'd be most helpful at resolving problems of type #2 or confirming it's not #2. And, ideally, chasing the difference between #1 and #3 farther than forum volunteers probably want to.

    I am looking for a plugin or API from Adobe (Adobe Reader or whatever will accomplish this) that can be added to our business website to make it easier for users to search through our manuals when they have questions about using the software. Does it exist? I want users to be able to type in a string and have the Adobe product search through all our PDF files for the file/page with that information.

    * A search engine on the web server. There may well be one there already, needing to be set up to search a particular folder. Or you may be able to configure a search page without any need for setup. Refer to your web server admin.
    * An intranet search engine. There may be one already on your intranet, just needing to be set up. Or you may be able to configure a search page without any need for setup. Refer to your intranet admin.
    * A variation on the intranet search engine is the search box, such as the google appliance, a separate box on the internal network which becomes your private Google. Pricy, but readily understood by senior management.

    Adobe pushed a security update to my computer and the update failed.  Now the "print to PDF" option is missing from all of my programs.  How do I get it back?

    When you export you will note that you export an Adobe PDF. There's a reason for that.
    Mac Preview is fine for a plain vanilla PDF but it ends there.

  • OSX 10.9.2/paid for Acobat XI Pro directly from Adobe for windows/English 24 hrs to process order?

    I paid for adobe xi pro today directly from adobe.  Had licensed version that expired.  Got email with Serial Number and for Windows/English version.
    Go to Adobe and cannot load, do anything because says my order "still processing and can take 24 hours".  My cc online shows adobe paid.  Adobe says I am supposed to be able to load same day.  Not true. Obviously.  WTF do I need to do to get this to load and work. My PDFs have been completely disabled even in read.  Unreal.

    AA XI purchase is separate from CC. If you got the serial number, just get the download from http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-downloads.html and install it. Please make a copy of the install file in case you need it in the future (it may not always be available).

  • No support from Adobe for users

    I'm extremely disappointed that I have have had zero feedback or response to my queries to get my digital editions to work.  It used to work, but now I cannot load any ebooks.  E_ACT_NOT_READY message.  Not the same as other ones posted.  Why is there no contact information for support from Adobe and they do not even monitor and respond to queries on the discussion forum?  I'm very frustrated. 

    There are also many reasons why users seeking help are not getting any...
    they often do not specify their OS and version
    they often do not specify their browser and version
    they often do not specify the exact error message(s) they are getting
    they post into existing topics, saying "I have the same problem", but in fact have a quite different problem
    they post that they have tried everything - which doesn't mean anything to me

  • HELP NEEDED FROM THE UK

    I live in the UK.
    Renters are going in to my New Port Richey Fl condo next month and I need to get a residential phone line activated.
    I have been a customer of Verizon before but have been without a home phone for many years as I had no need of it for my infrequent visits to Florida. So I do not have a phone number.
    My question is whether I am able to purchase a phone bundle online as I will not be able to visit Florida before the renters come in. Or can I call Verizon and order it and pay by credit card?
    Anyone have any knowledge?

     You can order  the service online or by phone.  If you go to Verizon.com and order  online you will get a better rate.  You will not get those same rates by calling to submit a order.   Depending on the service you get, If there is something that will need to be installed an adult will have to be there to allow the installer , entry into the residence.

  • In Need of PW for factory set 'user user' account so I can complete update! :)

    I bought a macbook from someone else and before they sold it to me, they set the cpu back to factory settings. I need to do a software update but I need a password for the account 'user user' in order to complete it. I have the MAC OS X Install Disc 1 and 2. Does anyone know the PW and/or know how I can change it I am used to working with pc's and am new to the mac environment so if you could put the instructions in simplest terms. Does anyone know how to get this mess fixed????? Help plz!!!

    Boot the installation DVD.  From the Utilities menu, you can reset account passwords.
    Or you could just reinstall from scratch using the installation DVDs.
    You could also wipe the disk using the installation DVD Utilities menu -> Disk Utility

  • Need Help Rejected from itunes For the Second Time

    Hello, I just wanted to know does anybody know why my feed get getting rejected from itunes, I talk to tune support team,when thru all the tech spec, pass the feed validation, and upload the podcast to a least 10 different computers and it work perfect. This is what i keep getting from itunes

    You will understand that this is a user-to-user forum and I don't have access to the inner workings of the Store; so what I have to say is effectively guesswork.
    There appears to be no technical problem with your feed - that at least isn't a guess - but your podcast consists of 'mixes' of recordings which you list. A possible explanation is concern that you are making use of copyright material for which you haven't either obtained written permission from the copyright owners, or a valid podcasting licence from a recognized authority. Making use of commercially issued (or indeed any) material without the permission of the owners is a breach of copyright, and is one of the reasons listed by Apple for podcast rejection (the others don't appear to apply here) - Apple could be be held jointly liable and sued (as could you).
    If you have in fact obtained the necessary clearances you will need to find some way of communicating this to Apple.

  • Computer crash. Obtained download of Acrobat 8 from Adobe. Have activation code that was just validated by Adobe Agent. Code rejected, Agent was not helpful. Please help

    ..Have original valid activation code and newly downloaded Acro 8 install package. Activagtion code was checked by Adobe agent and found correct. Upon installation, Acro software refused to accepy the known valid activation code and the agent passed me on to the forum. Pleasedo something
