Help needed in calculating result

Hi Experts ,
In a report i have 3 columns let say Col A , Col B & Col C.Col C is a CKF in query
and the desired data is like below :
                   A      B       C
                  50     20     1000
                  60     10     600
result        110    30     3300
Means Column C is the multiplication of Col A & Col B. And we want this fuctionality in the result rows too. But when we are executing the report we are getting the result as :
                  A      B       C
                  50     20     1000
                  60     10     600
result        110    30     1600
Can anybody help me out how to achieve this fuctinality in the result rows ??

Hi Sam,
This is due to the formula collision at the result row of the column C.
Go to calculate key figure and in fomula collision u use the fomula across the rows.

Mall_Sores table has 1 million records. If i pass '10001' as zip i need to look at 20 mile radius of the zipcode and list out the store names.

Have a look at the GEOGRAPHY data type.
Because you have the LAT and LONG, you can easily create a calculated column which then has a point object of the geography data type. You can then use the native functions to join the tables based on the distance being less than a specified
value.
This requires SQL Server 2008 or later.

I have reffered API documentation for the list interface...There i found the code below for the hashcode() method ...I couldn't get why "31" is used as a multiplicative factor?

 }I'm a beginner....please help me out..

Because it's a prime number, I think. You'll probably want to find an article or decent book on creating optimal hash functions.

Help needed in calculations in Workbook for input query

hi friends ,
Iam displaying an input query in the Workbook ..the format of the query is
Account Amount
1010 Undistributed Amount $ 2000
1010 PC1
1010 PC2
1010 PC3
The use 0f this query is to distribute the undistributed amount for below 3 profit centers .When a amount is entered for PC1,the entered amount must be reduced from the undistributed amount .Bottom line is the undistributed amount must be refreshed everytime an amount is entered for PC1,PC2,PC3 and vice versa ..
I tried writing some excel formulas but no use .when the query is in edit mode i was not able to write the formulas to the cells.
Please give me your valuable inputs and help me getting this function work.

Hi,
We acheive the same requirement in our project by creating one more characteristic which will be derived from the changed record .You can refer the How to guide given below.Once you get the delta record then you can redistribute the same by using the FOX formula,taking the derived characteristic into aggregation level and checking for it's value.

For example: one WBS element span across three periods ,initially all with same amount ,if I change the value for one period the remaining amount should be equally distributed in remaining periods.Special characteristic value is "A" intially.Now if i change the amount for 010.2009 to 100,the remaining 500 should be equally distributed.
HEADER LINE.
WBS,Period,Zdelta,Amount
WBS1 010.2009 A 200
WBS1 011.2009 A 200
WBS1 012.2009 A 200
Now when I change the amount from 200 to 100 the negative delta will be posted to ZDELTA as"X" with the value -100.So now in the cube the records will be like:-
WBS1 010.2009 A 100
WBS1 010.2009 X -100
WBS1 011.2009 A 200
WBS1 012.2009 A 200
Now you can write the fox formula in which you can check the total amount will be less than the original amount.So now you can post the remaining amount to the records where ZDELTA dose not have the value X.

Hi,
I am trying to create a timesheet in PDF and have hit a speed bump. Is there anyone there who could provide me with a script that calculated the difference between 2 times? (Field2 time)-(Feild 1 Time) = Duration.I am desperate and have tried everything.
I proccess the payroll for a company and all of the 500 or so timesheets that I received each fortnight are paper copies and I am pulling my hair out. I need to use Adobe forms (We have Adobe Pro 9 and I am using the XML forms, not live cycle) as the serach engine that we use for emails cannot search on excel documents.
I have no Java script experience and I am getting completely lost in the subject. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What does 1st 10%, 2nd 10% etc. mean?
Is it 0-10%, 11-20%, 21-30%....
If so, combination of floor,decode and division should help to
achieve the result.
For example for the followint table,

Help needed to loadjava apache poi jars into oracle database. Many classes left unresolved. (Poi 3.7, database 11.1.0.7). Please share your experience!

The first 3 steps are just perfect.
But with
loadjava.bat -user=user/pw@connstr -force -resolve geronimo-stax-api_1.0_spec-1.0.jar
the results are rather unexpected. Here is a part of the log file:

It seems to me that the root of the problem is the error:
ORA-29521: referenced name javax/xml/namespace/QName could not be found
This class exists in the SYS schema though and is valid. If SYS should be included as a resolver? How to solve this problem?

Help needed using adobe exportpdf

The first time I used adobe export pdf it worked well. However the next time and every other time I try to convert a pdf doc to word docx I get the error message at the end of the uploading session. "pdf doc failed to export to m,icrosoft word. There was an unexpected problem.
Anyone overcome this problem?

               Thanks for that info. I was aware of the 100MB limit but
your response made me think again and go back to the problem and this is
what I found. The first pdf document I uploaded into Adobe export pdf was 43
MB and it went through fine. when I looked at the conversion to Word docx I
found it had been transformed into 83MB.
So the conversion (which was a children's book with lots of images in it)
resulted in an increase of MBs by a factor of 1.7.
The second pdf document I uploaded was 64MB and this failed. If I apply the
1.7 factor then the Word docx I wanted was going to be 109MB and therefore
over the 100MB limit.
I didn't know that converting pdf to word would increase the MB like that.
Why, I don't know so thanks for your help I've learnt something new.

Trying to Edit photos. Click on Edit icon and I get the Message " Attempt to Access invalid address". Click OK get message "Unable to connect to editor application.
What is the problem? I have unenstalled to program and reinstalled, I have tried repairing from CD. Nothing works. Please help.

I have the disc and re-installed a couple of time. No positive result. PSE 09 which I bought thereafter is giving a lot of problems also!!!

Help needed with BBDM 5.0.1 IP Modem

Hi I was happily connecting thru the Net via the IP Modem in BBDM ver 5.0.1 all this while. Only this happened yesterday. Accidentally during the connection, my 9500 was disconnected from the USB cable. From that moment on, I cannot access the Net using the IP Modem feature. Tried to reboot the laptop as well as the 9500 but now all I get is the connecting message and then a pop up saying there is a hardware failure in the connecting device (or modem) ie the BB 9500.
I even uninstalled BBDM 5.0.1 and reinstalled ver 5.0 and also updated back to 5.0.1 - same story. I can still access the Net via the BB browser etc

It's best to explicitly close every ResultSet, Statement, and Connection in the narrowest scope possible.
These should be closed in a finally block.
Since each close() method throws SQLException, each one should be in an individual try/catch block to ensure that a failure to close one won't ruin the chances for all the others.
You can capture this in one nice utility class, like this:
