Help needed on tor package
Hi all,
I am trying to make a package for the latest alpha tor release.
How ever, the make install is putting binaries and config files in weird locations.
[russ@slave tor-0.1.2.4-alpha]$ ./configure --prefix=/home/russ/pkgs/sandbox

If this was done using makepkg, the bin/ dir would have gone to the /usr dir straight away, wouldn't it? Is this because the make install script is not obeying the "make install"'s prefix option?
EDIT: I tried passing --prefix=/usr to configure, making, then make prefix=/home/russ/pkgs/sandbox/usr install and it wants to put that bin directory straight away into /usr. How can I fix this?
Also how do I fix it so that the usr/etc/ dir will eventually be the /etc dir when it is properly installed? Or will it turn out alright anyway?

Maybe configuring normal looking in the Makefile if you can specify a DESTDIR for make install...
Otherwhise, specify the directories as needed by the makefile, as prefix, bindir or whatever the makefile takes on options.

have a package, going to place it in aur as orphan

orphan already, can take it if you want to maintain / bugfix it. I don't know if it's working as intended, that's why i also orphaned it.

Hi, I am developing a JAVA project following Graphical Editing Framework in Eclipse.
I have 3 packages ( in order of build) - ProcessModel, Process Editor and Application.
I am trying to import application package and use its class in Process Model. But I am getting compile time error " the import cheme.application can not be resolved" .
I assume this error is coming because Application package and its classes are not compiled and hence it is not allowing me to import and use them.
package cheme.ProcessModel.Interpreter;
import cheme.Application.*; // I have tried importing one class also
As suggested in some other posts, I have added the CLASSPATH variable with the folder address of Application package.
Please help me!!!

Help! Does the Motorola Rival now need a data package- being told it does by cust. service
Last week I called Verizon and confirmed that I could activate a Rival on a prepay acct, so I purchased one for my dd and did it. My dh liked the phone and wanted one for himself so I purchased another one. I was just trying to activate it and with his current Verizon pre-pay number and the customer service rep is saying that it can't be activated on pre-pay because it needs a data package. I tell her that I have already confirmed that it did not need the data pkg, and that my dd is using a Rival on pre-pay as we speak so she tries to manually program it and it wouldn't work. She told me to call tele-sales since they activated my dd's phone, but when I call them they say only customer service can change an ESN (or whatever its called).
Does anyone know whats going on?Solved my own problem. My acct only had $6 left so I added money and then it worked. I'm not sure why the rep told me it needed a data plan.

Help needed on CD740 ? My CD740 is GREAT , well , it was great !!? The sound and general performance are wonderful , but , it now has a fault !!? Shock Horror !!
What can it be ?!!? Well , the display illumination has failed , as in , there isn't any !!? Have to use a torch to read it !!? Not good. Now , here's the thing , I want a phone number (UK zone) ?to talk to an actual human and I cannot find one !!? That is soooooo annoying !!? I am new web logic and need some help in compiling, creating deployment file i.e. war, ear on Web Logic 9.2. If you start, as you already have, with the newest driver, things just dont work quite right in my opinion. -

i encounter 2 problems which i desperately need help with cause creative isnt giving me a satisfied answer
Firstly,?i cant update to the latest driver.
if i update...everytime i try to press any of the buttons(Game mode, x-fi?CMSS 3D, x-fi crystalizer) on the I/O front panel console.
i seem to lose control of I/O front panel console. i cant control the Main volume,Mic volume or any of my 3 modes using my I/O front panel console,?i can only change them through creative console launcher
secondly,
everytime i try change my recording device to "microphone FP". it keeps jumping back to "microphone" which apparently is the port on the sound card itself.
its kinda stupid to use the mic port on the sound card rather than the I/O front panel port being i paid such a high price for it mainly because of its specs but partially cause it has a I/O front panel.
someone please help me with this problem cause creative technical support hasnt been able to solve my problem

Expression -puzzling(help needed)

Is there a possibility that my expression fails on the first run trying to load into a column in the table having truncation error,but ultimately runs at the second time(having that column alone empty while populating other columns?).

If I understand correctly, a derived column with expression fails in the first time when execution the package, but it works fine after change the source column to another column that has more length with empty. For example, use the expression (DT_WSTR,4)[column_name]
as the derived column, the original column is nchar(10) with value like ‘abcd’, the later column is nvarchar(50) with value like ‘abcd’.
If in this scenario, the issue you said is possible. Because nchar(10) is Fixed-length Unicode string data, nvarchar(50) is Variable-length Unicode string data. The expression (DT_WSTR,4)[column_name] can cause truncation error when the column with nchar(10)
data type.
If I have something misunderstood, please provide us more information about the issue. If possible, provide us some screenshots about the package design, error message, expression and column information. So that we can make further analysis and help you
out.

After playing with it for a while at my local Fry's store where they put 5DMII, 5DMIII and 6D next to each other, using the same 24-105L lens, I decided to get the 6D and pocket the different for lens later.
I'm upgrading from the 30D. So I think you'll love it. It's a great camera. I have used 5DMII extensively before (borrowing from a close friend).
Funny thing is at first I don't really care about the GPS and Wifi much. I thought they're just marketing-gimmick. But once you have it, it is actually really fun and helpful. For example, I can place the 6D on a long "monopod", then use the app on the phone to control the camera to get some unique perspective on some scenes. It's fun and great. GPS is also nice for travel guy like me.

Help needed! I hava made bootable RAID with two S-ATAII 250Gb HDD and its not working! Every now and then at bootup I get a message RAID -> DEGRADED... Must be seventh time! Rebuild takes its own time!
What am I doing wrong!

P.S. I wery SORRY with my poor language!I'm going to blame the nVRAID because I've seen issues with it in the past. If your motherboard has another non-nVidia RAID solution, use that instead. Using the nVidia SATA ports as BASE or JBOD is fine and dandy but RAIDing always had issues. It's not even a driver issue I think it's just instability. Latest drivers and even boxed drivers never helped. Granted, some will report success with their rig. But on a professional level I've seen nForce issues on different motherboards and different hard drives that had RAID disaster stories.
Good luck and if you don't have another RAID solution, my suggestion would be to buy a dedicated RAID controller card.
