Help no audio when I export

For some reason when I export a video from fcp the video has no audio. If I use the QT movie option the video has audio just fine, but when I use QT conversion to better control the settings the video has no audio. My Compressor does not work... I need to use QT conversion so I can reduce the size of my video. Can anybody please help me figure this out.

Hi AS
Please describe the exact steps you are taking for this QT Conversion export, give details of each selection and setting you choose along the way.

  • No Audio when I export using quicktime conversion

    Hi,
This problem has just started. In my time line my movie places with both audio and video. When I try to export it using quicktime conversion I get a file with video but no audio. If I go to the audio settings button and click preview, I hear nothing. I have exported using the exact same settings many times before without problems.
If I export the file using quicktime movie, I get both audio and video.
This is driving me crazy, Can anyone help? Thanks!

I got no audio on the DVD when I exported from FCE using the Quicktime Movie setting. I finally determined it was because my audio was at 44.1k Hz. I upsampled to 48k and there was sound on the final DVD. This is not normally a problem when input comes from a camera, but if you are doing a DVD of a Keynote presentation and adding separate sound to it from a CD, this becomes a problem.
Certainly no more than a little annoying that there's nothing said during the FCE export that this audio won't be exported. It's just not there.

  • No audio when I export

I really am dumb founded on this hurdle. When I export my video some how the audio seems to disappear. If I export it with QT Movie I get audio, but if I export with QT conversion I don't get audio and I would like more control of my output. My compressor is not working properly, so I have to use QT conversion to control the quality.
I think this all started when I tried to use terminal to load ntfs-3g and macfuse to write to a ntfs hard drive. The tutorial on CNET directed me to input some command lines via the Terminal, but I had no idea what I was really doing or effecting. May mean something may mean nothing, but it is the only thing I have done out of the norm before this started happening. I have trashed preferences and verified and repaired disk (disk utility). I am stuck and need an option out, can somebody help or direct me somewhere to fix this.

    Yes sir.  How's this?

  • No audio when I export as a quicktime movie

I am exporting my movie from FCE as a quicktime movie, but there is no audio on the exported file. Why would this be?

The audio tracks are switched off in the timeline. You're not monitoring it properly. Where are you watching in the video? In the QT player? In FCE? Somewhere else? Are there any meters in that application? Are they moving? Is the volume turned up?

    Hi Jon,
Try placing your curser in the middle and click on that page a few times. Often this will make it available for editing.
Let me know if that works!

  • Compressor 3 no audio when export mpeg 2 ts

I imported a .mov files to compressor 3, but there are no audio when I export Mpeg 2 TS(by default setting)...
    (1) I can hear audio on preview
    (2) export no matter extentions m2t or mpg , no audio.....

the mpeg2 files mux (mix) the audio & video together in one stream.
To work with the files in FCP, you must demux them. The application MPEG Streamclip can do this for you. Google it, it's free.

  • I can´t see the pics I imported into my podcast when I export to iTunes

After making a podcast with pics, I was unable to view the podcast with itunes - I could only hear the audio tracks - but no pics - who can help me?

When you export to iTunes, you have to use the AAC compression, neither MP3 nor uncompressed AIFF will contain the pics.
Alternatively, select "Export to disk", and the podcast will be saved in AAC format by default.

  • CS6 can't get video preview window to appear when I export my movie clip to auditions?

    Hi,
I have CS6 Production premium for windows. I am editing my short film.  From premiere pro I am unable to export my video with my audio when I export a clip to auditions to edit it.  The web tutorials show a window pops up asking among other things do you want to render a preview video.  I don't get that window when I edit to auditions.
I just got CS6 (disc versions) a week ago with my souped up computer and a few days ago there was an update for CS6 that my computer guru told me to hold off on until I finish my short film.
My guess is either there is something I have disabled in properties or I need the updates.

Yeah, I've already done that in both auditions and premiere pro.  Plus sifting through all the previous threads on the subject.  Plus a "chat" with an adobe rep last night who couldn't help because she was with the download team.  She told me to call customer support which I will when they open this morning.
It may have to do with the 1080p 24 frames HD video I'm using or that I also have Cyberlink Powerdirector on my computer utilising or sharing a file that involves rendering video.  Cyberlink I found to be archaic with it's mapping of data and the program - it would not port over to my new computer w/o certain files present on my new C & L drives.
    It is what it is.

  • File size increases when I export from iphoto

I was hoping someone could help me.  When I export an event from iphoto it increases in size and is now too big for my dvd.  In iphoto, the size is 5.9 GB, but then when I export (settings as follows:  JPEG - Max. - Full Size ) the file is too big to burn on my DVD-RDL (8.5GB)
It goes from 5.9 to 10.48 GB.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks!

    Most Simple Back Up
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
    Slightly more complex:
Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically. Examples of such apps: Chronosync or DejaVu . But are many others. Search on MacUpdate
I'm Serious about Back Ups. And you should be too.
My Library lives on my iMac. It’s Backed up to  two external hard disks every day. These disks are permanently attached to the iMac. These back ups run automatically. One is done by Time Machine, one is a bootable back up done by SuperDuper
It’s also backed up to a portable hard disk when ever new photos are added. This hard disk lives in my car. For security, this disk is password protected.
I have a second off-site back up at a relative’s house across town. That’s updated every 3 or 4 months.
My Photos are backed up online. There are many options: Flickr, Picasa, SmugMug etc. However, check the terms of your account carefully. While most sites have free uploading, you will often find that these uploads are limited in terms of the file size or the bandwidth you can use per month. For access that allows you to upload full size pics with no restrictions you may need to pay.
Every couple of months I test the back ups to make sure they are working correctly. It’s very easy to mis-configure a back up application, and the only way to protect against that is to do a trial restore.

  • I make videos using my go pro hd camera, but when i export it only half of my 3 min video shows up with the audio playing in the background, plus when i try to select the quality in the export options it won't let me select 720p or 1080p?????? help!!!

What you could do now is break up your video into smaller parts and render them out, then assemble them again as a whole.
I know this is not the best fix, but it might work.
You can duplicate an edit in the main screen, then delete the last bits and export,
do the same for the other half.
Then import the two bits (or more if you need) in a new edit.
Out of curiosity, can you post what format the video is in?
Copy a video straight from the camera to your computer.
Open it in Quicktime player, and with out playing type Apple + i
or Control + i for PCs
It should tell you lots of info about the video, and might help us to see what is wrong.

  • **Missing Audio when Exporting to HD**

    Hi,
I have been trying to find a solution to missing audio for sometime and there are many discussions on this forum regarding this topic. I have an external drive and in the past I have lost audio, I guess because the event and the project were on different drives, I have resolved that. Also, the problem that I have is not related to the speed of a clip or that I have more than 10GB in my events (I don't). There have been other audio issues and I have always been able to resolve them but this one has me stumped! I thought that perhaps the graphics card was not up to the task but this has just happened and now I am confused.
I have just completed a project that was only 3 minutes long 403.5 MB. The movie was imported to iMovie from my video camera and listed as an Event, I also used movie clips and stills from iPhoto, I added titles and transitions. I then exported the movie to Media Browser (mobile size) so that I could import it into Garage Band to make an soundtrack. I then exported the soundtrack as an AAC to iTunes (as I have read that there are issues with MP3 and audio missing). I then opened iMovie and dragged the soundtrack into my project and republished the completed project to Media Browser in the HD size. No problem all works well, I was really happy! Onwards I thought and get another 2010 video finished, wrong!
On my next project I have done everything that I have described above, this time the project is only 349.8 MB (smaller). The audio on the HD size has failed. I have copied all the files onto my desktop and reimported everything. I have tried exporting using Quicktime or as a Movie but still no audio. I have found that the 'consolidate media' is grayed out when I have all my clips in the project editor, because they are all on my hard drive. As soon as I add the iTunes track that I have exported from Garageband the consolidate media option becomes available. If I select this I then get the message that the iTunes track cannot be copied as it is not on my hard drive! It is on my hard drive (I disconnected all external drives so that there would be no confusion!).
I cannot understand how the first project worked and the second smaller project failed using the same process! I thought that I would share this information with the forum in the hope that perhaps a solution can be found. I am able to publish the second project to my mobile me in the large and mobile sizes, it would be good to have the HD size for a DVD. There seems to be no logical pattern to the audio disappearing on export. Your thoughts or help would be very welcome.
    Kind regards,
    Watchthebat.

In Soundtrack if you have selected to use only channel 2 of a stereo file (right click on stereo file and select mono->channel2) you will hear channel 1 when you export. Its a massive bug.
Could that be the source of your problems? The bug can certainly create exported mixes that sound like stuff is missing.
There's a recent thread around here about this.

  • Everything plays perfect (audio & video). Mute clips after exporting (sounds fine when not exported)

Alright... this is the 1st time I use Adobe Premiere CS5.5, and I´m using the trial version.
I hope the image I uploaded is clear, but if I click PLAY while I ´m using the program, everything plays absolutely perfect.
Problem is when I export. If you can see there, there are like 7 audio bars there, I don´t know if that could be a problem, but I can´t seem to put all of them into a single track.
The main audio files DO play in the exported movie, but many others do not...
Any help??? I really need to fix this.

    Microsoft AVI
    preset: custom
    Audio coded: uncompressed
    Channels : stereo
    sample type: 16bit
    Video codec: DV PAL
    ASPECT: D1/DV PAL(1.0940)
    (CHECKED): use max. render quality
    use frame blending
    use previews
(not checked) render at max. depth
    I hope this is helpful

  • Distorted audio when exporting to aiff

    Hi there,
    sure someone can help...
Im using FCP just to mix audio for an iDVD project.
This way: I have e.g. 10 minutes on a slideshow pass and want to mix, say, 2 songs that cover those 10 min. Everything seems to be fine while working. The problem is that when I export the audio, the resulting "mixed song" hears cranky and full of little "bumps", like if it was kinda distorted...
The source songs are full quality mp3 converted directly from the original CD (not downloaded from anywhere or P2P),
    any ideas?
    Thanks!

  • Audio goes out of sync when I export to iDvd.

Anybody have any idea what this could be, and how to fix it?
Everything's fine on iMovie, the audio syncs up fine to the video, but in iDvd, the audio seems to have randomly shifted all across the video.
It's not all the audio, some of it is still in place (but with other sound layered over it).

Try exporting the iMovie project as a single full quality dv format quicktime file.
I use iMovie6 HD and this is my usual procedure that works well.
Make the movie in iMovie, will involve many separate clips. When finished, export (share) as a single full quality dv format quick time file. When I have an hours worth of smaller projects, I create a new iMovie project and import all of the quicktime .dv files for each separate short project. I add chapter markers in this project, then share with iDVD. I then burn an hours worth of stuff at best quality and distribute to family and friends.
iDVD seems to work better with iMovie source that has fewer clips.
BTW: Are you having problems with standard def or hi def iMovie source. Another part of my procedure is that I take the raw tapes and download the entire thing into one iMovie project. I don't edit or change the footage at all, just want to archive to DVD for posterity. In this case, I want to share the iMovie project with iDVD directly. This has worked OK for standard def projects, but my first hi def project (1080i) that I tried, the sound was out of sync. To fix this, I had to create a regular DV widescreen iMovie project, and drag all the clips into it from the HD project. It took over an hour for my humble mac mini to convert the files, but I was then able to share with iDVD and the finished DVD worked ok.
    Hope this helps.
