Help - nothing really working - need to de-code th...

I have got completely confused - can I tell you the story so far - perhaps you can help de-mystify me -
It started like this -
1. My Microsoft Outlook seemed to not be able to send/recieve so phoned BT.
2. At that time I could access BT-WiFi with Fon - no problems.
3. After Techs talked me through something I was up and running again.
4. Then I wanted to carry my laptop to another part of home - now it would not work Wireless as it used to.
5. Phoned BT again Technician asked me to hold and then said try it and I was able to connect wirelessly.
6. Few days later I tried to use BT WiFi with Fon - that wouldn't work then.
7. Phoned Techs again.  She said she has 'done something and would I check it' I said all I can see is BT-WiFi not BT-WiFi with Fon and also BT WiFi-X.  She said not to worry it will connect to whatever is the strongest signal.
Now - I seem to find I just don't know whether I am coming or going.
8. Sometimes I can go on BT-WiFi and I can't open my Hotmail or Microsoft Outlook.
9. I use to get up the BT WiFi page and was able to login with password and have my BT WiFi with Fon.
10. I also notice on my Outlook/Hotmail on the top left hand corner it will say - Certificate Error Navigation Blocked Outlook com  my [email protected]
Soooooo
What started off as 'Please can you help my laptop will not contact Wirelessly i.e. pull out yellow internet plug has now made me completely baffled after the tech help.
I guess I am right in thinking -
11. BT WiFi with Fon - means i get it free for sharing a portion of Wi-Fi Bandwith, etc as they say on BT site.
12. BT WiFi - means I am still connected to my Hub, but I can carry my laptop around in house, and use still counts towards my Data limited each month.
Any thoughts would be really appreciated before I get back onto Tech Help.  I just feel like I am now putty in their hands and would like to be able to sound more informed.

BT wifi fon is the same as BTWIFI - both are the from a bt hub and the data you use while connected does not count towards your data limit.  you home network which will be the hub name will only work in your home and if conencted to that all data will count towards your data limit

    Pogo games won't load - cleared cache, uninstalled and reloaded firefox, reloaded plugins, uninstalled and reloaded java, uninstalled and reloaded adobe flash - nothing is working - need NEW suggestions please.

    Try doing these steps:
    Install Firefox 11 from [http://www.getfirefox.com www.getfirefox.com]. simply install it over your current version of Firefox to make sure all Windows Registry settings get recreated correctly.
    Run all Windows Updates. Service packs, etc. You may have to run this several times to ensure that you get all needed updates.
    Download and Install MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, run a full Scan. [http://www.malwarebytes.org/ http://www.malwarebytes.org/]. This helps check that there are no viruses on your computer causing issues. You can uninstall this program after you clean off any infections.
    Update your graphics driver (Firefox uses your graphics card for some rendering, and an out of date graphics card driver can cause problems. [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-upgrade-my-graphics-drivers https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-upgrade-my-graphics-drivers].
    After doing all these steps, try restarting your computer, and seeing if Pogo will run.
    If it doesn't work, go into your control panel, and uninstall every installation of Java and Flash that you have. Restart your computer again, then install them from [http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/install_flash_player_11_plugin_32bit.exe http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/install_flash_player_11_plugin_32bit.exe] for Flash, and [http://javadl.sun.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=62313 http://javadl.sun.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=62313] for Java. again, restart your PC, then test.
    Try to start Firefox in [[Safe mode|Safe mode]]. This mode disables all extensions, user customizations, hardware acceleration, etc. temporarily for diagnostic and troubleshooting. If Firefox works find in Safe Mode, then this is likely an add-on issue. Restart Firefox in normal mode, then type "About:addons" (without the quotes) in the address bar. Disable your extensions one by one, restarting Firefox between each one, until you find the trouble maker. Once you do, you can disable that add-on and report the issue to that add-on's developer.
    If it does not help the issue, open up your Firefox Profile. [[Backing up your information|Backing up your information]] shows you where that is stored by default. Delete or rename the "pluginreg.dat" file (make sure Firefox is closed when you do this). Test again.

  • Help, nothing is working -_-

    Okay, I may not be an expert on Java or a wizard who knows everything on computers and whatnot but uninstalling Java should be simple as pie, right? I've tried to uninstall Java7 update 1 for the past hour or so and I've used multiple uninstalling and registry fixing programs to get rid of what was left of 7 update 1. Nothing has worked at all. Even after using the Control Panel (given that it's what comes with Windows 7 it should work, right? wrong.) the program says that Update1 is still there. When I choose to uninstall it, it asks me if I want to make changes to my pc which I always choose yes, so that's out of the way. Then the progress bar pops up. "Gathering required information" or something of the like is up above the progress bar, when it's almost full the window closes out for half of a second then pops back up with the same progress then all the progress falls back to its original position then the uninstaller closes out as if it was never opened.
    *Java7 update 1 has become self aware and does NOT want to be removed from my pc.*
    Specs of my PC:
    Windows7 Home Premium 64-Bit SP1
    AMD A8-3800 APU with Radeon HD Graphics
    8.0 Gigs of RAM
    Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 Ti
    Note: I am not a developer of any type, I am only a 15 year-old bent on Minecraft and having fun with my friends.

    Have you tried this:
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
    Because the primary source of your misery is still Microsoft's wonderfully robust installation software, not Java. The fact that Oracle sucks at creating installers should not be the reason why your computer gets messed up when something goes wrong.

  • After upgrading to Windows 8.1 my screen becomes unstable and nothing really works.

    I am "fortunate" that Windows upgrades itself automatically (I forgot to remove this feature) and when it does nothing works propeprly: teh screen blinks every now and then, the cursor doens't stop whiling...meaning its doing something (I can't figure out what!).
    HOw do I do this darn upgrade without a hassle?
    Thank you.

  • I need a Sample Code about flash++.h and swc.

    hi,help me !
    i need a Sample Code about flash++.h and swc.
    my Sample Code bitmapdata.cpp:
    #include <AS3/AS3.h>
    #include <Flash++.h>
    using namespace AS3::ui;
    void gettpoint() __attribute__((used,
    annotate(“as3sig:public function gettpoint(x:Number,y:Number):uint”),
    annotate(“as3package:MyLibrary”)));
    void gettpoint()
    double xx;
    double yy;
    inline_as3( “%0 = x;%1 = y\n” : “=r”(xx) : “r”(yy) );
    flash::geom::Point p=flash::geom::Point::_new();
    AS3_Return(xx);
    int main()
    AS3_GoAsync();
    return 0;
    the compile command is “$(FLASCC)/usr/bin/g++” $(BASE_CFLAGS) -O4 bitmapdata.cpp -emit-swc=MyLibrary -o bitmapdata.swc -lFlash++ -lAS3++
    It took me ten minutes to compile,but it can’t work.why?

    Compiling a SWC using Flash++ will result in poor compiler performance if you are using the Flex SDK to compile that SWC into a SWF.
    To get better performance try using the new version of mxmlc that is shipped in the Adobe Gaming SDK.  (Note that this new version of mxmlc doesn't support Flex)
    You will need to install the Gaming SDK and then extract the archive in the "AIR SDK" folder.  Once that archive is extracted you'll notice the new mxmlc compiler in the bin folder.
    Unfortunately compiling a SWF seems to be a little tricky.  You'll notice in the sample Makefile below project that it changes directory into the bin folder before calling ./mxmlc.  Ideally you wouldn't need to do this (like how it worked with the Flex mxmlc).  I'll investigate why that is the case.
    Makefile:
    # Path to your FlasCC SDK folder
    $?FLASCC=/Users/stshongr/builds/alchemy/1.0.0/sdk
    $?GAMINGSDK="/Applications/Adobe Gaming SDK 1.0/AIR SDK/air3-5_p4_sdk_asc2_mac_112112/bin"
    # The folder the source files are in
    $?SRC_FOLDER=$(PWD)
    all:
              "$(FLASCC)/usr/bin/g++" MyLibrary.c -emit-swc=MyLibrary -o MyLibrary.swc -lFlash++ -lAS3++
              cd $(GAMINGSDK) && ./mxmlc -library-path=$(SRC_FOLDER)/MyLibrary.swc $(SRC_FOLDER)/demo.as -o $(SRC_FOLDER)/demo.swf
    clean:
              rm -f *.swf *.swc *.bc *.exe
    MyLibrary.c:
    #include <AS3/AS3.h>
    #include <Flash++.h>
    using namespace AS3::ui;
    void gettpoint() __attribute__((used,
                                    annotate("as3sig:public function gettpoint(x:Number,y:Number):uint"),
                                    annotate("as3package:MyLibrary")));
    void gettpoint()
        double xx;
        double yy;
        inline_as3( "%0 = x;%1 = y\n" : "=r"(xx) : "r"(yy) );
        flash::geom::Point p=flash::geom::Point::_new();
        AS3_Return(xx);
    int main()
        AS3_GoAsync();
        return 0;
    demo.as:
    package {
        import flash.display.Sprite;

  • AS3 not working. Need to implement code to lauch viewer's default mail app. Please Help!

    Hello,
    I'm struggling to work out why; when you click on the "Contact" link/movie clip on my home page, it No Longer launches my Entourage default mail application. The action script is below. I've tried implementing loads of different mailto: as3 codes into my existing code, however none of them seem to be working with my existing code. I'm not an expert coder and could really use some idiot proof instructions/code here, what the code is, where to place it in the existing code and what other buttons/movie clip/instance name I'll need to create? Can anyone help me, Please?
    Thank You,

    Hi Ned,
    Thanks for the prompt response and help. This is the mailto code I'm trying to implement into my existing code with no luck:
    var linkToEmailAddress:URLRequest = new URLRequest("mailto:[email protected]");
    email_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, emailAddress);
    function emailAddress(event:MouseEvent):void
        navigateToURL(linkToEmailAddress);
    I've changed the "email_btn" to "contact_mc" and tried a bunch of other things too.
    Your advice made sense to me so I'll go over it again with a fine comb and see if I can work it out.
    Any other tips on how and where to paste the mailto code above would be much appreciated.
    If the ball is in my court now, I will keep at it, and hope to get it right.
    Thank You,
    Kavi

    Have you performed a reset? Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off button for approximately 10-15 seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release both buttons and await restart.

    Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school environment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.

    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
     Cheers, Tom
    To anyone out there, can you guys run this code and help me debug it?
