hi i updated my ipod touch 4th gen yesterday to ios 6 it worked fine untill the restart it showed the apple logo but a few seconds later it went white

Yes. You will have to update to 10.6.X from 10.6.8 you can update directly to 10.8.2 if you like. You will need to contact apple to purchase an install disct for 10.6.X.

I understand why you would think that, but logically it doesn't make sense. I can read and write to the ipod with windows explorer with no problems, so the flash drive seems to be ok. I can also load, read and play songs through Itunes 6 on the computer with no problems. The problems start in Itunes 7 and when the ipod is used as an ipod alone....not a drive. The diagnostic windows tell me the drive is fine and the battery is ok (just a little low on voltage) but hubby says not enough to worry about. If anything was wrong with the hardware I wouldn't be able to use it as a drive would I? Its almost as though the thing is "stuck" on the boot up window of "use Itunes to restore". I even tried to load rockbox. The software all loaded but I still got the itunes restore window on startup and thats as far as I can go. Another thing I noticed recently is I can't seem to turn the ipod off! I can reset it but it just "reboots". After the restore notice about 10 seconds later the whole screen will blank out. Also when I plug the ipod directly to the wall to charge, I also get the apple...then the itunes restore notice...but never a battery charge icon (like my classic 20gb)...is this normal? This nano was given to me - (Also, this is a first generation, but I posted in the second generation thread) Would a repartition work?

You are going to have to connect the phone to itunes on a computer and do the update from there. Once you complete the update vie computer it should erase the partial downloaded info that your iphone has made

i have an Iphone 4s was running on IOS 7.0.4, and i was check on settings for update and don't find anything !
any way i knew that apple releases IOS 7.1.2 and i choose to update\restore to it, downloaded the firmware
then before i continue i make sure that my iphone doesn't have an ICloud ID and doesn't linked to any account, i just used the apple id for app store
after i'm sure that no account in Icloud, i updated to 7.1.2 and then it stuck on iphone in recovery mode, so i choose to restore it after bought new USB cable, after i restored it to 7.1.2 the iphone stuck on activation screen and ask me to enter ID and password ? is that mean my iphone been hacked or something else because im very sure that my iphone doesn't have any account in the Icloud ?
is there any way to help ?

Based on your description, it sounds like your iPhone still has the Activation Lock feature of Find My iPhone enabled. You may find the following article helpful:

I wanted to upgrade to iOS8 on my iPhone 4S. I was not connected to iTunes. Clicked install while I was on a WiFi connection.
Post that I tried restarting and it is showing a pictorial diagram asking me to connect to iTunes.
I connected to iTunes and now it is asking me to restore. After going ahead with restore it is saying device can't be found.
I am really worried. Can anybody help me here.

Help solving iOS iTunes video app issue

hello all,
i have a weird issue on my iOS devices vs my Apple TV and Mac Mini running Yosemite. All my devices are updates to the latest OSs.
the issue is, whenever I purchase or redeem a movie. It is always ready for streaming from the cloud on my Apple TV and Mac Mini.
but on my iPad 4 and iPhone 5s that same movie takes days and sometimes over a week to show up in the video app for streaming. Yes I do know I can download the movie. But why does it take so long to populate on my iPhone and iPad vs my Apple TV and Mac??
can anyone help me resolve this issue?

I am having the same problem. I downloaded purchased workout videos onto my iMac then I transfer them to my iPad and hook it up to my TV. It worked great on iOS6 but now I can't see the chapters on iOS7. The workout videos are under Home Videos Tab and there is no way to see the chapters.
Have you found any solutions to this? a different app? Soooooo frustrating!

Ok, on my ipad, the notifacation center says the weather is going to be 13 degrees celceuis, I am wanting to use the American metric units, which is Fahrenheit, how do I fix it, it says yahoo provides weather info! Help! iOS 4 giving my iPhone 3G problems...

Hi, so ever since I upgraded to iOS 4, my iPhone 3G has been "lagging", and it is rather sluggish starting up apps.
Also, the Safari app is not working. It brings me to the History, etc. menu on Safari, but freezes. It may crash too.
I've not had problems with apps themselves (Facebook app works, YouTube works, albeit slowly...).
If you could help me out that would be fantastic! Thanks!

Unfortunately there appears to be no solution.
I have had numerous conversations with Apple staff by phone, email and at two Apple Stores and, whilst they all admit to the problem, no one has a fix. One Apple Store member of staff told me his 3G is "slow as a slug with iOS4" but he didn't mind as he was getting an iPhone 4 the following week.
None of the suggested ideas re: resets, restores, close windows, etc., make the slightest difference. It also appears that the problem is worse on older 3G phones.
Apple have screwed up big time. They would have known about this from beta testing (if they didn't, then they should outsource their beta testing) but they chose not to inform the public.
It's atrocious and I expected better from them.

IPhone 4S Camera app not working. Help? iOS 7.1.2

I have an iPhone 4S, and my camera doesn't work. When I launch the app, either it black screens (but shows the GUI still), or it shows the background. But when I want to switch the camera so I can show my face in FaceTime or take a selfie, the app black screens or freezes afterwards. I know this is a software issue, and I am running iOS 7.1.2. Please help with iOS 7.1.1 and iPad Mini

We loved our iPad mini until we accepted the upgrade to iOS 7. Since upgrading and now most recently to 7.1.1, the applications are jerky -- games are not usable -- and there seems to be a 'phantom' touching controls when we're not. Is there anyway to downgrade? Is there some setting/feature in 7.x we can shut off that's interfering with the interface?
Very sad Apple doesn't take Quality Control more seriously -- we pay a premium price for their products. Thinking about maybe getting the Nokia Windows tablet.

You can't downgrade iOS levels.
Your problem may not be related to iOS 7 or 7.1.1.
I haven't seen the sort of problems that you are reporting on my iPad.
The "phantom touching" touching sounds like your iPad may have developed a hardware problem with the touch screen. If you are using a screen protector remove it to see if that helps. If the problem persists contact Apple Support or visit an Apple store for an evaluation.

When you open Safari on your phone, you will see a symbol of an open book, which is a list of bookmarks. At the bottom of the list, whether it is one line long or two dozen lines long, there should be a link saying iPhone User Guide
It should open up a box that has several icons for choices to save or send it, and one of them is Add to Home Page, and that means it will put an icon that will link to it on your phone's screen, so you can always find it.
The full manual given in the earlier post can be helpful and is certainly complete, but this is the version most will find useful.

So I finally updated my iphone to iOS 5. Afte update I restored from backup so I kept my files: photos, textmsg etc..
However the system in my phone didn't fuction the way it should have. Like safari wouldn't open. And other bugs. So I decided to re-do the upgrade. So I restored the phone again, from the same backup. However, after restoring from backup my files, and especcily my photos were gone. And right after I found out that, did itunes take another backup from my blank phone. I couldnt find my old backup file, not in itunes, and not in the appdata/rooaming/ apple computer etc. folder either. I lost about 1000 photos, how to recover my old backup file? Dose apple have it? Is there anyway I can get my pictures back? Its like 5 months of memories and photos Please help! I'm on vista.

Need help with IOS commands to see wireless printer

Seems that I'm not asking the question correctly, or providing the right information.
The problem:
I've purchased a wireless printer, (an HP 6500a) and I can not see / ping / use the printer on the wireless network.
Environment:
Cisco 891 ISR in standalone. Single office - Home-office environment. Nothing spectacular. WLAN connected and operational to the internet.
The printer is configured to use a static IP of 10.0.0.3 and reports that it is connected to the AP. However, when I ping FROM the command line at the AP, I DO NOT see the printer. (I did previously, but we lost power last night due to a storm and I'm still trying to reconfigure it...) DHCP is configured on the router to exclude the range 10.0.0.1 through 10.0.0.99
How do I configure the wireless router to allow any connected client to share files / printers etc? Seems that the Cisco router has this shut off
by default and I've found nothing in the user manual or by asking for help on here how to reverse this so that I can share printers / files on the LAN.
Please, I'm not stupid, but I'm only casually familiar with IOS and Cisco's networking terms.

Wireless clients can get on w/o issue. Nobody can ping anyone else or see them.
No file sharing, no printer.
Tried using the web-based config which works for some items, but wont access the advanced config.
