Help on resizing tablespace
i have a tablespace with 23 datafiles of varying sizes, with a total size of 91,060MB, it has consumed 79,457MB. Would it help the performance of the database if I change the size of the individual datafile to have the same size? e.g. 10 to 20Gig each?
What would you suggest I do? The important thing is to avoid or lessen database downtime.
I have a TEMP tablespace which has a size of 22,074MB, it's always full, is this normal and what would you suggest.

Tablespace size, or getting the data files the same size, has very little to do with performance.

Using the files effectively has a lot to do with performance.
For example, are the files on RAID striped disk? Or are they all on the same disk? (If on the same, every request for info from the disk is going to cause the heads to move and cause all other possible requests to wait for that to finish ... very inefficient!)

Do you have enough memory assigned available for outside the database (not part of the SGA) that could be used for sorting, to avoid spilling sorts to the temp tablespace?

How are you arriving at the conclusion that the 'temp tablespace is full'? If you use the same info as the permanent tablespace, you are barking up the wrong tree - the temp tablespace SHOULD be full of temp segments. The question should be "how many of these segments are actually in use?"
------When I look at the temp tablespace in the Enterprise Manager, it states 99% used.
What version of the database is this? What optimization techique are you using? Have you looked at the Performance Tuning document in the doc set for your database?

Help with Resizing of column widths in a pivot

I m working on resizing the pivot coulmn width in a dashboard. Could anyone please help with resizing the pivot width. Autosize() works but user doesnt want that.
Whats the code to do that?I read what was written but still am confused. I am completely lost at this pointWhat is confusing you? A TreeMap is just a HashMap where the key is stored is sorted order.

Resizing tablespace is taking too much time and freezing the database
This is my database setup:
3 node rac on 32 bit linux (rh 4)
2 SANs (3gb + 2 gb)
asm config: everything is default from installation
current datafiles: 3.2T out of 5.0T (autoextend on)
this is how I do to resize the tablespace manually to test how long it takes:
alter tablespace my_tbs resize 3173562M; //from 3172538M (adding another 1gb)
And it took 33 minutes to complete.
Could someone tell me what is wrong?
ps:: when i check the instance performing, the "SMON" user is like 97% of db activities. And while the resizing is running, the database seem to freeze.

there are 2 sans, one is 1.7T (one partition). the other san has 3 partitions with 1.1T each. I have only 1 datagroup
I used big file so there is only one big file for this tablespace. the size of the tablespace is 3.2T used with autoextend on (increment size is 1G)
this is the command I used to manually resize the tablespace:
alter tablespace my_table_space resize <3229923M>; //current size + 1G

I have created an object of the second class in the first class and also i have invoked a method of the second class using it's object from the first class.
but when i compile the first class i'm getting an error that "cannot access the second class".

Please help me with my situation:
I was trying to make an action that will decrease 1 inch to all sides of my document (the document size was 12x36 inches) and hopefully to other documents. I don't want to crop the image, I just want to resize the whole image to 10x24 inches, leaving a 1 inch transparent border (the gray and white checkerboard) to my document. I started resizing manually, but it was time-consuming so I tried to make the action I stated above. I was expecting that it would decrease a proportionate 1 inch to the top, bottom, left and right sides of other documents, but it didn't. Any procedure to make this happen in different documents with different sizes and resolutions?
PS: All the the documents that I will resize would eventually be printed ( I don't know if this would help).

Easy to do in a script not so easy in an action unless you know that there is no background layer or that all have backgounds. You can not add transparent canvas to a document with a background layer for brckground layers do not support transparence. Documents may or mant not have a background layer and background layers can be converted to a normal layer. Actions can not use logic without using a script to see if there is a background. My Crafting Actions package contains a utility script for actions that will convert background layers to a normal layer should a document have a background layer. Once you know there is no "Background" the rest is easy to do in an action with menu limage canvas size check relative and set width and height to 1" the will add 1"

It is currently 1000px and I want to make it 1300px but when I do that, all the elements that is near the top becomes off the screen to the top...Why is that? I only want the document to be longer in height from the bottom but not sure what it is affecting the elements on the top?

Full Phot Edit

Resize
Image Size
Change Resolution to 300 ppi
Save as baseline standard
Then export the Jpeg.
The company wanted my photos at least 300 ppi for best quality. I don't think she cared about the pixel size, but I guess you could change that as well. Hope this helps a little. Took me days to figure out how to send off for printing. -

I think you need to wait until there's no active rollback segments in the old undotbs before you can drop it. You can also restart the instance to force Oracle to release the old undotbs.

Please help! I was asked to create a banner for a company that is advertising with us, and the dimensions have to be 300x90 pixels. However, when I try to add anything, it becomes very pixelated. I thought this only happens when you make an image larger, not smaller? When I try to add a text box or their company logo (a .jpg file), everything becomes extremely pixelated. I'm frustrated because this has never happened to me before. I have worked with Photoshop for years now, but I don't know how to fix this problem. Resize Tablespace having multiple datafiles...
Hi All,
Is there any way to resize the tablespace having multiple datafiles? Tablespace having multiple DBF can not be resized like we did with alter database datafile ...resize command.
Please let me know if anyone having any idea.
Thanks in advance.But as of now I have 4 DBF in a single Tablespace and all are having more than 25G in a size. And I can see many of the free blocks in all the files at the end If the free blocks are at the end, what prevents you from resizing the datafiles?
when data are inserting in the DBFs its not only spread to single file and once its reach to max size then only moved to second DBF, its scatter with the all the allocated DBFs of that particualr Tablespace. You can downgrade to 9i! The out-dated method you are after was deprecated with 10g. Why do you want to ignore parallelism and fill up one datafile sequentially until it reaches maximum size before putting data in another? -
I need help to resize firefox when I go online, Help?
When I go online to FireFox, which is my default browser, it resizes and it is huge. I need help so that it will match the properties that I have setup for my computer. I don't know how this happened. When I first installed it, it worked just fine.

It is best to use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed a maximum file size of 1 MB.

Problems with resizing tablespace.

When I installed Oracle Application Express I use SYSAUX as default tablespace.
During unsuccessful transaction I increased this tablespace up to 5,5 Gb. After dropping all unneeded data I have 700 Mb of used space.
When I tried to alter database datafile ... resize 1 Gb, I received an error ORA-03297: file contains used data beyond requested RESIZE value .
Is there some way to defragment tablespace

P.S. I use 10gNever use SYSAUX or SYSTEM tablespace as the default tablespace. Query dba_extents to find out which segments are located towards the end of the file, then move these segments to another tablespace and then you'll be able to shrink the datafile, unless of course, a sys or system extent is occupying the space.
