Help to select OID user from Report

I have a Report deployed on a 10.1.2 report server and using OID and SSO.
Report runs ok with SSOCONN parameter via SSO login screen.
I need to use the OID user in my reports queries.
To check what sys_context('USERENV',..) parameter I need, I created a simple report that returns all USERENV parameters value including EXTERNAL_NAME and run it to see what userenv parameter is the right one to get the OID user.
But none of them has my OID username in it !
Anyone who can tell me how I can get my OID user from a select in Report.

Just an update :
Solution found via SSR on Metalink.
In fact, SYS_CONTEXT with CLIENT_IDENTIFIER works. It returns the OID/SSO user.
The probem was I was testing with Reports and that Report server on Linux has a bug and needs a patch available on metalink:- 5193731.

Help with Select Lists in Classic Report

I working with APEX 4.1. Oracle 11.
I have a simple classic report with 4 columns (Username, Role, Read, Update). The Read and Update columns are Select Lists with values of "Yes", "No".
Report looks like this:
Username Role Read Update
JSmith Admin Yes Yes
LJones Dev Yes No
My requirement, is that when a user selects Yes from the Update select list, the value of the associated Read column needs to change to Yes as well for that particular Username. The change has to occur upon selection of Yes from the Update select list.
Im not very strong with javascript, but for testing purposes I applied: onchange="alert('hi');" on the Update column. When I make a change to the Update select list, the alert does pop up.
Can anyone suggest how I can implement the change to the associated Read value of Yes if the Update value chosen is Yes, for that particular row.

The complexity in this case is that you're using items in a report rather than standard page items.

Search help in selection screens for interactive report

A search help can only be assigned to DB table.
So my doubt is can it also be used for seletion screens created for an interactive report?
If yes what is the procedure.. Please give me one example at least...

How do I create a Search Help which selects some rows from a table?

Well, I'm trying to be specific.
I have a parameter with a search help that shows columns BUKRS and BUTXT for ALL rows form the table T001. What I need is restrict the search help to show only three Values: BUKRS = 1000 BUKRS = 2000 BUKRS = 3000. This is like a search help with a SELECT sentence. How do I do it?

you can go through thomas sir's suggestion. But my suggestion is If you are working in a custom Report , dont change it at Table level or Domail Level., Instead, use Function Module for Custom F4 help.,

Help! Print OLE object from report builder.

Dear OTN Members,
I would like to know how to print out a OLE object from
report builder, because currently I face problem to print out
the whole contain of the winword document file, because when I
display the OLE on the form it will only display according the
size I declare for it, it seems that it will not automatic
extend the size itself. i.e. if I drag the size to one page in
fact the maximum is one page, then when it display, it will only
display maximum one page eventhough the document file maybe
contain 10 page inside it. So when I print out the report it
will only show me one page, so if you have any solution, pls

As far as I know you have to use OLE Item to work with the information. Unfortunately there is not any standart way to extract a source document from OLE. Some applications such as Word, Excel support OLE Automation, so you could use OLE2 package to save the document as a file, that is the easest way. But others don't, so you may have to use an undocumented way to extract a document.

How to show a error message to user from report.

I don´t wanna to go in a form builder to create a simple form for just two inputs.
I have put two inputs into reports parameter screen, but I know that reports is not like forms, I cannot use SET_ITEM_PROPERTY to hide an element or put a runtime message to a label.
How can I show an error message when I validate an input from user, when some input trigger raise?

Applescript help to select incoming message from inbox.

Hi I am in need of an applescript that takes an incoming message file from my "Temp" mail directory, then copies it's "body text",
and copies it's text to specific new directory folder.
Example:
Mail Subject = RenameFolder
Body of email = Joe Doe - Photo
I have this so far..... I have the mailbox selection working.... the rest is beyond my scripting abilities.

Graphical mess-mapping help needed: select single segment from many

I am sending a standard PO IDOC from R/3 and converting it into a file before sending to 3rd party.
The IDOC used is ORDERS.
In this IDOC segment E1EDK14 gets repeated in R/3 and I want to use the value of 009th occurance (E1EDK14 009) to map my values.
When I look at XML, it looks as follows

How to send email distribution to all users from report ?

Once the reporis being generated, it will distirbute to all the email id list. Will this possible ? or any other better way to handle this ?

hello,
you need to use 9i or 10g for that. there you would set the "repeat on" property of you report to the group your report is based on. this will create one instance of your report for each person.
then you need to use advanced distribution, create a distribution XML file that defines your desired email distribution with dynamic TO value.
for further info about advanced distribution, consult the publisching reports manual.

Removing a User From SAP and Webtools

I have recently removed a user from SAP which was a user from webtools
i removed their license and removed them from webtools
My issue is that i now have a Sync Error
-10:Selected user was deleted
   at NetPoint.SynchSBO.WebToolsChildObjects.AccountUser.SynchOUSR(NPUser u)
   at NetPoint.SynchSBO.WebToolsChildObjects.AccountUser.NetPointToSBO(NPQueueObject qData)
   at NetPoint.SynchSBO.SynchObjectBase.Synch()
What can i do to remove this error?

User probably still exists in WebTools. Try to find & remove it.
If this doesn't help, you can remove user from synchronization queue:
1. run SynchManager
2. on page Synchronization click on tab Web tools Queue
3. find row with 'Name' equal NPUser; click on number in column 'Fail'
4. select row containing error message
5. press <Delete>
6. run synchronization

Remove SP User from SharePoint subsite

Hello All,
I am trying to remove a user account form all sub sites except few.
I am making use of following command.
Remove-SPUser "Contoso\jdoe" -web http://webapp/sites/site1/web1/
But this command is removing the user from all the sub sites including the site collection.
Can anybody please help to delete the user from specific subsite only.

Select user from dual with oid + oss ?

Implementing a solution for global user administration, authentication and application schema mapping, will it break the simple but efficient possibility to do a 'select user from dual' ?
If it is possible which value will we get, a global user identifier from the directory or something else ?

Actually we authenticate user using internal database users. Each user depending on his enterprise role will have a set of synonyms deployed to map the application schema. It is complex to handle a large set of users schema. With OSS it seem to be possible to authenticate user using an external LDAP directory (OID) and to map this user to an application schema switch user's enterprise role.
But I want to evaluate the impact of deployeing such solution, because our application use some 'select user from dual' single query to track user activity in some manner (this can be done using triggers or pl/sql api that do this job). If it is possible to have an unique user identifier in the database session context, even using external authentication and schema mapping of OSS we'll have less impact on the application. Else we'll have to change some API signatures to handle this user identifier.
Context is :
- use LDAP external functionalities provided with OSS to increase user management at an enterprise level ... single sign-on is our goal ,-)
- use schema mapping to reduce our complexity of schema management. One schema foreach role rather than one schema per user.
So, will we be able to individually know which user have the session in the database, rather than the shared schema name. If it is possible, the impact on our application will be really minor ...
