Help with registering multiple XML versions with Oracle 9i

Hello,
I have a fundamental question. Probably someone had been in similar situation and thought of the best way to handle.
Our product has about 15 versions that we need to support.
Each version publishes its 'xmlschema' and is slightly different from the previous version.
Now if I register each schema version with oracle9i it will auto-create tables for each version (even for xml elements/attributes that are same across different versions).
2 options that we thought of so far to handle this is
-Combine all 15 versions schema's into 1 super-set schema and register with oracle db. Fields/elements, a version does not use will be empty
-Use XML 'extensions' in various xml schema, such that each version in 'extended' from the previous one and keeps on adding its additions attributes/elements. My question is then if I register these 15 'extended' schemas with oracle, will it create common DB tables per version or it will still create unique tables for all 15 versions.
Anyone has any better suggestions or comments to handle this situation ?
thanx
-Manu

But I'm still stuck on the problem. It still doesn't read the second object. There is no second object.
The code is quite big, any specific portion would be helpful, please let me know?This is a minimal load and print for an XML bean:import java.io.*;
import java.beans.*;
import java.util.*;
public class LoadAndPrintXMLBean {
  // run with your file name as first argument
  public static void main (String[] args) {
    try {
      XMLDecoder d = new XMLDecoder(
        new BufferedInputStream(
          new FileInputStream(args[0])));
      Object result = d.readObject();
      d.close();
      System.out.println(result);
    } catch (Exception ex) {
      ex.printStackTrace();
}For your input, it prints[[INDEX_KEY], [7]]You have one object, a vector, containing two vectors:
  The first child vector contains the string "INDEX_KEY".
  The second child vector contains the string "7".
This matches the structure of your XML<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<java version="1.4.1_01" class="java.beans.XMLDecoder">
  <object class="java.util.Vector">
    <void method="add">
      <object class="java.util.Vector">

        </void>
      </object>
    </void>
    <void method="add">
      <object class="java.util.Vector">
        <void method="add">
          <string>7</string>
        </void>
      </object>
    </void>

</java>There is only one object there to retrieve using readObject().

  • 1 xml file to multiple xml files with 200 records in each

    Hello Experts,
    I have below scenario.
    Please suggest me which might be the best approch to work on.
    1) XML file to XML file
    I will have 1 pretty huge XML file which i need to break in multiple XML files with 200 records each.
      1) first approch i can have bpm in which i can split the file according to my requirement.
      2) Second approch i can create 2 scenarios in which 1st scenario will pick up XML file and create multiple flat files with File content conversion. Second scenario will pick up all these flat files and create XML files.
    2) XML file to XML file
    Or i can have multiple files with 1 record per file and i need to merge in multiple XML files with 200 records in each.
    So its kind of 1:N or M:N scenarios.
    Please tell me which is might be better performance and design wise.
    Or if you have any idea in any other way i can do this, then please reply as soon as possbile.
    Please tell me if you have OS command for the same or some script to run or anything which i can implement.
    Thanks,
    Hetal

    what is your senario? is it File to File?
    You can use multi mapping concept without BPM. You can handle the 200 records per message logic in the multimapping.

  • Our Java application is built with java 1.4 version and oracle 10g

    Our Java application is built with java 1.4 version and oracle 10g version database, is it possible to upgrade oracle database to 11g?

    is it possible to upgrade
    Yes. SE and the other editions have a migration/upgrade utility, not seeing any mention of that program in the XE license docs. To upgrade to 11gR2 from 10g, the 10g instance must be at patch 10.2.0.2 or higher.
    So if you're a GUI dba, might be out of luck. But the the XE install has the catalog upgrade scripts that need to be run, there is a MOS note explaining the manual upgrade steps.
    Or set up a brand new 11g database instance and datapump your user schema(s) from the 10g instance to the new 11g instance. The database doesn't care what java version you're using, it just does what its told with the data. DDL, DCL, DML ... its not much different. Quite a few new features in 11g.
    But if you're after JVMs that piece is not supported with XE.

    Ah, sorry, strike that. You want multiple files. I think the easiest way is to simply parse with DOM. [http://www.w3schools.com/xpath/default.asp] . And here [http://www.w3schools.com/xpath/default.asp].
    You can output the various XML elements using a PrintWriter or creating a separate DOM document for each file you want to create and serializing that.

  • Please help to read the XML document with XMLTable

    Hi odie_63,
    Good evening. I am not sure what you are suggesting. Please provide me the example how to solve the problem. I am very new to XML parsing.
    In the meantime, I am having another problem to get the data because .net developer changes the webservice format. To me it is supposed to work fine. May be my eyes are getting blurred so, I can't see where I am wrong.
    Thanks in advance. Please help me out.

    Had exactly the same issue with an external supplier who would not change the interface to remove this line. We created a java proxy which was called instead of the BPEL, then stripped out the invalid line and then called the BPEL. Not pretty, but worked.

  • Please help; how to write XML document with JSP?

    I try to write XML document with JSP...
    But I got wrong results everytime.
    The result is not XML file displayed in the browser,
    but HTML file.
    I even tried to use HTML special code for <, >, "
    but still display as HTML file not XML file.
    How to do this?
    Thanks in advance. I put my codes below.
    Sincerely,
    Ted.
    ================
    Here is code for the JSP (called stk.jsp):
    <%@ page contentType="text/xml" %>
    <%@ page import="bean.Stock" %>
    <jsp:useBean id="portfolio" class="bean.Portfolio" />
    <% java.util.Iterator pfolio = portfolio.getPortfolio();
    Stock stock = null; %>
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <portfolio>
    <% while (pfolio.hasNext())
    stock = (Stock) pfolio.next(); %>
    <stock>
    <symbol>
    <%=stock.getSymbol() %>
    </symbol>
    <name><%=stock.getName() %> </name>
    <price><%=stock.getPrice() %> </price>
    </stock>
    <% } %>
    </portfolio>
    =================
    Here is the code for bean.Stock:
    package bean;
    public class Stock implements java.io.Serializable
    String symbol, name;
    float price;
    public Stock(String symbol, String name, float price)
    this.symbol = symbol;
    this.name = name;
    this.price = price;
    public String getSymbol()
    return symbol;
    public String getName()
    return name;
    public float getPrice()
    return price;
    ===============
    And here is bean.Portfolio:
    package bean;
    import java.util.Iterator;
    import java.util.Vector;
    public class Portfolio implements java.io.Serializable
    private Vector portfolio = new Vector();
    public Portfolio()
    portfolio.addElement(new Stock("SUNW", "Sun Microsystem", 34.5f));
    portfolio.addElement(new Stock("HWP", "Hewlett Packard", 15.15f));
    portfolio.addElement(new Stock("AMCC", "Applied Micro Circuit Corp.", 101.35f));
    public Iterator getPortfolio()
    return portfolio.iterator();
    }

    Hi
    I'm not sure whta your query is but I tested your code as it is has been pasted and it seems to work fine. There is an XML output that I'm getting.
    Keep me posted.

  • Need help in registering HFM Sample applications with Shared Services

    Hi all,
    I have installed HFM 9.3.1 on the server and I have issues in locating the sample application in the HFM console. I want to register the sample application with Hyperion shared services. But when I tried opening the application, I do not see the sample application and also got an error saying,"cannot connect to server".
    When I tried creating new application I got an error saying,"there is an error retrieving the user management project list.Please verify that the project exists".
    All I want to do is, to provision the shared services users to the HFM sample applications. Could you provide some suggestions to overcome this issue? I'll appreciate your quick response.
    Regards,
    Leo

    Try using the server name instead of the cluster name.

  • Using multiple XML Connectors with a single trigger

    I have an application, which I inherited, and it had used a
    HUGE XML file, and has not been performing properly. Mgmt accepts
    that the size of the XML is the problem and wants it split up, but
    have it still work as if it were a single file.
    The question posited to me was: Can I set up multiple XML
    connectors and have the correct one triggered after a selection is
    made from the Combo Box?
    I am only an intermediate user and am getting these things
    only because the other developer is retiring. Thank you for any
    ideas/assistance.

    Hello aps7828:
    If I read that correct, you only get the error when you run the executables and not the VIs. Can you take a look at your processor level while one .exe is running. I am wondering if that is the source of the problem.

    1.Through ctrl file and log file using SQL LoaderPlease clarify :
    Do you want to load the entire file into a single column (XMLType or CLOB), or do you want to extract XML data and store it into different relational columns?
    Please also edit your first post and use tags to enclose the XML source, and do not copy/paste directly from your browser, use "view source" feature so that the content doesn't retain navigation characters (+/-).

  • Getting multiple XML elements with UCCX 4

    I am trying to pick up multiple elements with identical tags from an XML file.
    (Example)
    <NAME1>
    <PHONE>123-1234-3456</PHONE>
    <PHONE>506-245-5566</PHONE>
    </NAME1>
    I am able to pick up the first PHONE, but when using a second Get XML step I get the same again. How do we traverse the file without actually numbering the tags?
    (Thought I did this before, but maybe not...)
    regards
    Johnny

    Hi Johnny,
    Did you ever find a solution?  I'm running into the same scenario.
    Thanks!
    Mike

  • Accessing multiple xml elements with same name

    I am having trouble with an xsl stylesheet. This is what one of the rows of my output xml document looks like
            <Row>
                <Num>1</Num>
                <Valuation>Val</Valuation>
                <COMBCHARFLAG>Y</COMBCHARFLAG>
                <CCCOUNT>2</CCCOUNT>
                <CCDESC>CHARDESC1</CCDESC>
                <CCDESC>CHARDESC2</CCDESC>
            </Row>
    Does anyone know how I can access the 2nd CCDESC ("CHARDESC2") . When i run this in the workbench I can only ever access the first CCDESC, it acts like the 2nd isn't there. However I was also using a 3rd party xsl editor called "XMLSpy" to look for other possible solutions and when i render it with XMLSpy, everything is displaying correctly. Is this some sort of limitation of the workbench? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
    This is the template i am calling in my xsl.......
    <xsl:template name="for.loop">
    <xsl:param name="i" />

                                                                <xsl:with-param name="i">1</xsl:with-param>
                                                                <xsl:with-param name="count"><xsl:value-of select="CCCOUNT"/></xsl:with-param>
                                                                </xsl:call-template>

    Muzammil,
    Thanks for the response. I may have explained my situation a little poorly. I am not trying to access the 2nd CCDESC within the workbench via a repeater or such. It is after the XSL renders the page that I don't see the second CCDESC. When the XSL renders the page through Internet explorer i get something that looks like the following......
    Res # 1
    CHARDESC1
    When I render it in the application XMLSpy it shows both CCDESC's like follows.
    Res # 1
    CHARDESC1
    CHARDESC2
    In XMLSpy if i change the line of xsl code from      <td align="center"><xsl:value-of select="CCDESC[position()=$i]"/>  to       <td align="center"><xsl:value-of select="CCDESC[2]"/> the page is rendered in XMLSpy with both labels the same as follows.
    Res # 1
    CHARDESC2
    CHARDESC2
    If i do that same change in the workbench and render the page through IE I get no label results....
    Res # 1
    Thanks

  • What I can do with the free download version of Oracle 10g?

    I'm new to Oracle. What can/can't do with the free download of Oracle 10g Release 2? What is the difference between Oracle 10g Release 2 and Express edition?

    Express Edition has limits on the number of CPUs it'll utilize (it essentially forces itself to run single-threaded), amount of RAM it'll utilize and amount of data it will store. It is missing many of the higher level security and maintenance features you would find if you wanted to be highly available.
    The downloadable version of Enterprise Edition is missing none of these, however the license states that you can only use the that version for development purposes.
    I suspect you can also use the downloadable version to educate yourself on how the various features work, but it doesn't specifically say that in the license and I'm not a license expert.

  • Can anyone help me install latest itunes version with Mac OS v 10.4

    Help, I have just received my son's old MacBook and tried to install the new version of iTunes but now the download says it's not supported by my version of Tiger 10.4. He rebooted the MacBook before passing over to me so everything is old but I have since downloaded the upgrades and just wanted to do the same with iTunes.

    Yep you are correct. Trust me I have spent the last 2 weeks going crazy over this. I had the same issue. I even went out and bought the newest version..snow leopard software but because my mac is older it didnt have enough RAM to support that new version. I needed the original leopard which they no longer sell. After spending an hour on the phone with a rep telling me I needed to buy a new mac I made an appointment at the genius bar at the apple store. The people in store are much more helpful. They no longer sell the regular leopard version but they were apple to install it for me there in about an hour. I am out the money spent on snow leopard but at this point am just happy that I finally was able to get itunes. Hope this helps.

  • Multiple JDK versions with 10gAS

    Hi,
    I deploy multiple applications on different containers on the same instance of 10gAS. Couple of applications use different versions of JDK (1.3 and 1.4).How can I make 10gAS Containers, use different versions of JDK ?
    How can I make 10gAS it self, use a particular JDK (external to 10gAS installation) from a different vendor?
    Please let me know the answer for the above two questions.
    Thanks in advance.
    Giri.

    Eric has a good idea. I'll add another.
    You could create a symbolic link to the new java version also, and use this to point to your JAVA_HOME for devadm.
    We have a Solaris admin who installs all java versions on the box, then uses symbolic links (aka aliases) for mapping purposes such as this.
    Hope this helps,
    Tim
