Important Microsoft update continues to fail even following re install

I contacted Microsoft regarding this problem. Spent over an hour on the phone and in chat mode, where MS took control of my computer. They failed to solve the problem. They told me I have to have the disc which was used to load Windows 8 on my computer, which I don't have since my computer came with Windows 8 already loaded on it, in order for them to fix the problem. Called HP since they laded Windows on my computer. Can't get disc from them. I'm stuck.

since I got my photosmart 6520 printer 12/02/2012 every night it tries to update Hewlett Packard Imaging NULL print HP photosmart 6520 series ....and it fails every time. I have a HP P 7 1010 desktop and ever since I got new printer I have an exclaimation point on my computer and it says to troubleshoot and when you do it says it is doesn't have drivers and it shows NOT FIXED. When you log off at night it tries to update the NULL print again and it fails every time. I have talked to your service people numerous times for over an hour and they can not fix the problem. PLEASE HELP

I did some looking into the problem for another user, and it looks like this is just a ghost update. Basically a "ghost update" is an update that was for the device, but the device has more recent drivers which causes the update to keep failing. The only thing you can do is hide the update, or ignore it. Windows will keep trying to push it, but your printer doesn't need it. If it did need the update, it would install right. Hello , and welcome to the HP Forums! I see you're having issues with an update. I would like to help! I'd recommend starting with a power reset. Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I would also recommend downloading and running the HP Print and Scan Doctor. Once the Doctor has been run, re-run the update. Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

How do I Poster print with photosmart 7520

I am a poster designer and I have used poster printing with all of my Hp printers, but my Hp Photosmart 7520. How do I Poster print with photosmart 7520 using eprint and if not can I use use the USB cord instead for poster printing?

The steps are quite the same, beside one different step during the dialog:
From Devices and Printers click the Add a Printer button, then select a Local Printer.
Keep the preseleted LPT port amd click on Next.
Select HP from the Manufacturer pane and then select the HP Deskjet 6940 Series from the Printers list.
Note: if the model is not listed, click the Windows Update button, allow it several minutes to complete and then it should be listed.
Finish the Wizard and confirm the changes.
Right click teh newly added 6940 and select Printer Porperties, open the ports tab and select the port with the otiginal printer model listed within the Printer column (e.g. HP Photosmart 7520), then click on OK.
Poster Printing should now be available within the Finishing tab (Under Pages per sheet and Posters) by using the HP Deskjet 6940 printer.

Faded/ No Black Color Printing HP PhotoSmart 5510 Series

I have a HP Photosmart 5510 Series device.
I have cleaned printheads, changed the ink/toner, checked the vents and still I can't get the black color to print properly without being REALLY faded or sometimes not even showing.
I have read numerous articles for help and still no luck.
Suggestions?

I have a feeling the printer may be printing from the computer using composite black. For black and white images and photos, a blend of colors called "composite black" may be used to achieve significantly better image quality and smoother gray tones than can be accomplished with black inks alone. - Source
My suspicion is that the black ink cartridge itself may not be working or the printhead is not letting the black ink through to the page. Let's use the following links to begin our troubleshooting journey!
Please complete all of the steps in the following document; Printer Does Not Print Black Ink or Color Ink, or Prints Blank Pages. Although I hope this resolves the issue, it might not. As you have a 5520, If the issue persists, I would suggest calling HP Phone Support regardless of whether it is in or out of warranty as you may require a replacement printer.
The number to call HP is 1-800-474-6836 for Canada and US, or you can Contact HP Worldwide.

Why won't my computer connect to my wireless printer (HP Photosmart 7520)?

Ever since getting the printer, my laptop has always been able to send things to the printer with absolutely no problem. As far as I know, it works because the printer is connected to the same wireless network as my computer.
However, none of my colleagues are able to print, despite being connected to the same network.
Is there something else they need to do? A lot of the time, the printer is not even showing up on their drop down box (when they try to print in microsoft word for example), but it always does on mine, and we are all on the same wireless network.
Any ideas?!

MacBook Pro OS X Mavericks 10.9.3 wireless printer HP Photosmart D7300 series

Ever since I downloaded OS X Mavericks I have not been able to print. My Mac recognizes the PC and Printer I am sending requests to but it won't print. Keeps telling me that the printer isn't connected. I am so frustrated with this whole new update Apple came out with. We have tried deleting the printer and adding it several times. Still won't print. We have tried to use USB to the PC to print to the printer. Still won't print.
Will uninstalling OS X Mavericks and reinstalling it help?

Hello! Thank you for your reply. I tried the way you stated and neither option worked for me. My computer was finding the printer but not finding the PC that I was sending to. I started over by deleting the printer and putting in a different printer and sending a print. The print failed. I then went back in and deleted the wrong one I put in and reselected the correct printer and added it. The print all of a sudden decided to work. I had done this several times before but didn't plug in a false printer like I did this time. Perhaps putting in the false printer made it think more and then finally saw the correct printer when I put it back in? Not sure. Thank you for your help just the same.

I have the Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE wireless system as my internet provider because of the area in which I live. I set the Photosmart up with no problems but after two days it is now not connecting to my jetpack. One of the reasons I bought this was so I could print from my IPad and IPhone. When I go to print from them I choose the 7520 but when it prompts for the password, I put in the one from the setup (which I never changed) and it tells me it's wrong. Did I lose connection and have to start over?

How do I turn off duplex printing for Photosmart 7520

When printing boarding passes, tickets, or legal forms, I want to print on one side only. However, I do not find this option anywhere, and I am forced to print one page at a time.

What is the OS and version? On Windows, if you want a printer settings to stay, you change it in the system print property, if you change it in the pop up when printing, typically it's considered per session and the change don't stick. If you change a setting in a specific app (word, adobe), they may or maynot send that info to the printer.
If you are using presets, after making the changes, you may be able to save a new preset with the wanted properties and use the new preset from now on for the type of print jobs (e.g. save a preset named "boarding pass")

Actually, "Other" can never go away. It includes, among other things, the iOS itself. The smallest it can get is roughly 1 gigabyte.
"Other" includes deleted emails that are still residing in your trash, as well as actual email messages.
You might have one or more corrupted apps on your machine. Carefully consider which apps you restore once you perform the cleanup, or the "Other" will once again grow large.

Where can I find other manufacturers ICC profiles if they are available? OR if there are none profided, why?

I understand you have a Photosmart 7520 that you're wanting different ICC profiles for. I will do my best to guide you in this.
This isn't something that we support, but in doing a bit of research I was able to find a link to Adobe ICC Profile, and this International Color Consortium page that has a few different suggestions.

Photosmart 7520 does not grip and feed the paper to print..

Hi-- I have a sparsley used Photosmart 7520 AIO that does not properly feed the paper to print. An HP Utube video had several olutions suggestions that did not work. THe display screen thinks the machine has no paper. Any ideas? Seems like it should be a small easy problem but nothing seems to fix it. Thank you.

I read about your print jobs getting stuck in the print queue's on both of your computers, and I am here to offer a few suggestions to you that should help.
I would first recommend trying a Firmware Update for the printer. As you are connected VIA USB, you can download and run the update here from your Windows 8 PC: HP Photosmart 7520 series firmware update
Restart the printer afterwards.
Also, there could be many reasons as to why the jobs are getting stuck in the print queue. Check out these guides and try out all of the steps and they should help you:

Photosmart 7520-e printer

Cannot print from my PC screen. Screen display has printer display and has been printed previously. This is a recent problem.
Print and devices in control panal shows 2 hp 7520 printers installed on my home network (3 PC's connected wireless.
When I try to print from my PC screen I get a message that says "error status".
I have selected both PC's and niether will print. I have disconnected th printer power and no change. I have Win 8.1 as my OS.
The printers shown as installed are 1- HP photosmart 7520 series (network)
2- HPB1ACFA (HP Photosmart 7520 series)
The printer #2 is now the default and is markd as online.

Happy you were able to get everything figured out. Make sure to keep checking that your computer isn't duplicating printers in your "Devices and Printers" tool. If you notice that it is duplicating the printers I recommend contacting Microsoft Support because you may have an OS corruption. Just a little bit of fore-warning in case you notice it.
