Hi All.. adcfgclone.pl
Hi all,
Im working on Rel 12 version. I have a question in cloning.
These are the options available in adcfgclone. I know you people know this. but i want to confim this.
adcfgclone.pl dbTier option .
adcfgclone.pl dbTechStack
adcfgclone.pl database ----> What this option will do? Can you people explain?
Faster request will be appriciated...
Thanks
Venkat
Venkat,
You can use it to configure the database if the database is open. If the database in not accessible, it will recreate controlfiles, configure and open the database. Please note if you specify the context file, you will not be prompted for cloned system target values to create.

Hussein

Error running adcfgclone.pl dbconfig post-clone
Attempting a clone/refresh of our TEST EBSR12 environment. Followed steps in the documentation. First, I ran adrpeclone.pl dbTier. Next I ran adpreclone.pl appsTier. Subsequently, I copied the source $APPL_TOP, $COMN_TOP, and TechStack from source system to target system. Next step was to shutdown DB and run adcfgclone.pl dbTechStack. Then, target DB control files were created and RMAN restore commenced. Once this was finished, the DB was started in open mode, @adupdlib.sql script was run, and target DB was configured using perl adcfgclone.pl dbconfig (and reading in the XML context file) Result was a failure:

Adcfgclone.pl dbTier failure
Good Afternoon,
I am cloning our production 9.2.0.8 database onto a new server for running db version upgrade against. I have hit an issue with adcfgclone.
I have checked the log for the process and the first errored output will follow. Its pretty obvious that the db controlfile is going to fail creation due to this error. Now looking in the adcrdbclone.sql script, it is looking for the *.rdo files within my second data_top - the directory exists but the redo logs do not. How can I get around this?
Thanks,
(extract fromApplyDBTier_09021022.log)

Sysadmin/All users are not able to see responsibilities after login in EBSR12
I have followed the all notes from forums/metalinks. but no use.
Hi Hussein,
I came know the issue bcoz of profile change.
on part of iSupport setup on web node, followed metalink DMZ configuration in R12.
After I have changed below profile value, I am not able to see the responsibilities after login as sysadmin on webnode i.e new node B. but I can see responsibilities on node A.
Update Node Trust Level
To change the value of the Node Trust Level profile option value to External for a particular node, perform the following steps:
1. Login to Oracle E-Bsonapness Suite as sysadmin user sonapng the internal URL
2. Select the System Administrator Responsibility
3. Select Profile / System
4. From the 'Find system profile option Values' window, select the server and get the valie MINE8 into it.
5. Query for %NODE%TRUST%. You will see a profile option named 'Node Trust Level'. The value for this profile option at the site level will be Normal. Leave this setting unchanged.
6. Set the value of this profile option to External at the server level. The site level value should remain set to Normal
I need to follow metalink note for configuration DMZ in EBS R12. but I cant see the responsibilities of sysadmin.
fyi...I have cloned web external node by running adcfgclone.pl on node B by enabling web entry and web services only, remaining services are disabled. but as per metalink note, we should enable the Root Services also on node B. is it causing the issue after edit the profile on part of DMZ config in R12.
please let me know how to fix this issue?
I have deadline to finish it.... -

# Checking the status of AutoConfig run of ApplyApplTop
Warning : AutoConfig has completed with errors .
Please review the AutoConfig section in the logfile. If required, you can re-run AutoConfig from command line after fixing the problem
to workaround this we have to copy 10.1.2 HOME/lib32/libclntsh.so.10.1 from PROD to test instance in the same location and run autoconfig.
After this workaround everything OK and I can proceed with post cloning steps.
I just want to know where is the problem ? Is there any common mistake I am doing or this is any bug ?
What would be the permanent solution of this cause.
Thanks.to workaround this we have to copy 10.1.2 HOME/lib32/libclntsh.so.10.1 from PROD to test instance in the same location and run autoconfig. Is there a difference between the file you have in the cloned instance and the one you copy over from prod (source instance) in terms of size?
Was this file originally copied from the source instance? If yes, what was the command used?
Do you have the latest AutoConfig and Rapid Clone patches applied?
Thanks,

Oracle EBS 11i - Cloning failing while running 'perl adcfgclone.pl dbTier
Hi DBAs/Experts
I am trying to clone the Oracle 11i (11.5.10.2 with RUP6) all single node on RHEL 4.6. I was following the metalink note 230672.1.
I ran adpreclone scripts successfully on the dbTier and appsTier. Shutdown the Apps & DB. Moved over the file system (whole /u01) which include all the homes ,tops and datafiles from source to target.
While running 'perl adcfgclone.pl dbTier' , I am getting following errors. I didn't check any pre-requisite patches for Rapid Clone as the EBS was already up-todate with RUP6. (How can I verify if the system is on RUP6 in case I have to double check it).

Error when running adcfgclone.pl on dbTier
Hi Guru's,
Am currently performing a cloning on EBS 11.5.10.2 running on RHEL AS 3.0 (Taroon Update 6).
I followed all the correct procedures on the source system, including running of adpreclone on both tiers and running autoconfig, and every step completed sucessfully.I then copied all the 5 folders to the target system.
I ensured all the pre-requisite checks are completed including applying Patch 3006854 on the target, after which i run adcfgclone.pl on dbTier.......
It went upto about 50% then errored out as follows.
Kindly assist me.Below is a portion of the log file that contains that errors.

Hello all,
i run adcfgclone.pl in apps Tier for clone, but facing issue. please advise.
Do you want to preserve the port values from the source system on the target system (y/n) [y] ?:n
Clone Context uses the same port pool mechanism as the Rapid Install
Once you choose a port pool, Clone Context will validate the port availability.
Enter the port pool number [0-99]:
40

Please advice.
RegardsHi user:
1. Yes the database and lsnr were closed as the tar files were created. So, i assume thate there are no any oracle session avalibale when you copy files from source to target
2. Yes I would also like to mention that it already had an old instance. So this is just a new clone. So, i mention you have valid entery on /etc/hosts file
3. Please can you describe what permissions as from root user it was done as
chown -R oratest:dba <db tier folders> If your target user is oratest than syntax seems correct, did you copy oracle_home too from source to target and this home owner is oratest again right?

Adcfgclone.pl in APPSTIER fails with Registration
Hi Hussein:
I was doing a clone of production system to test instance. The test instance is running on a machine which has one more EBS instance QA running in it.
When I run the adcfgclone.pl on the test instance machine ( APPS tier ) I tried to reuse the oracle Inventory for the QA instance. At that time the oracle Home registration failed.
RC-00126: Update inventory failed
I ignored this message and applied all the post ATG RUP 6.0,ATG RUP 6.0 and POST ATG RUP 6.0 patches on the Apps tier machines. Now I am trying to apply the CPU patch for the HTTP Server and the patch is not getting applied properly. I have attached the log at the end of this posting.
QA Instance already has all the ATG stuff installed on it. I know for sure that the patch is not getting installed because of the wrong inventory the patch is looking for.
Now to get the CPU patches working what should I do now. Is there a way to create a new oracle Inventory just for the TEST instance and get this thing going. I do not want to do the clone again and redo the whole ATG patch installation. Is there a work around for this. Your guidence on this issue will help me a lot.

Sorry about the delay. I did'nt take the oracle recommended route. i copied the Application Inventory from the Production machine and updated the entries to match the test instance. We have to edit comps.xml and inventory.xml to reflect TEST values. Finally every thing worked as expected. The patching is complete. Thanks a Ton.
