Hi, I have a problem with my Macbook, whenever I close the lid, it sleeps normally, but then, when I open it, it turns on for about a 1/2 second then shuts down. Then, when turning it on, I have to hold the power button, or it stays off. Please help!
My Macbook shuts down when I put it to sleep.
I would try each of these in order seeing if the problem is solved after each:
1. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM and Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC).
2. Boot into Safe Mode, then reboot normally.
3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
4. Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive

2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer. Proceed with reinstalling OS X. Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files. After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.

You need to reinstall OS X:

Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless. -

I have problems with Apps Store whenever I rotate the device it will just auto exit from the apps store and back to home screen.Try a rest: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the iPad shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the iPad back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray before doing the reset.

I had the same issue and i just resolved it, I have an iphone 4s and last night was al perfect and this morning i just verified that i had a new updated installed on my phone and my WiFi was disable and did restore as new like crazy until i did this after me being tired of restoring my phone from factory setting and then my lately back up on icloud i did my last move and it got fixed this is what i did ok.
STep #1 Do a back up manualy onto your cmputer throu itunes (NOT ICLOUD) ok
Step #2 after doing the the back up go and do on you phone or throu itunes do the factory reset setting and erase everything and make like new phone
Step #3 Leave yhe iphone conected to Itunes.
Step #4 Once your iphone is reset to factory setting on your Itunes Window will say NO SIM CARD DETECTED before clicking on your right up corner (DONE) slide your phone and it will appear conect to a network do the process and put the pasword of your WiFi and until it says conected,It will say (No Service) but it will be conected to WiFi then click on the Itunes Window (DONE)
Step #5 DO a back up recovery from the last back up you did onto your computer not Icloud ok!!
Step #6 after you recovered your phone from last back up on your computer it will atumaticaly have service and WiFi conection like before..

After recently purchasing a mac i decided to upload my photos from my iPhone to iPhoto. I accidentally disconnected the charger and now whenever i click 'import photos' it tells me that iPhoto is 'importing photos to library' which i can tell you it is not. because the phone is not connected and it has been doing it for days now.i tried to force quit and it hasn't work. It won't let me shut the computer down now either as it thinks it is currently importing something so i have to wait for the computers battery to die which is ridiculous. If the ➙ Force Quit method won't let you shutdown iPhoto try this command in the Terminal:
killall iPhoto
followed by the Return or Enter key
It might take more than one go for it to take.
Failing that close all other applications and hold the power button down until the computer shuts down. Reboot and try iPhoto again. -
Hi, My 17 inch Mac pro laptop just shut down and I can't get it to turn on again. This has happen multiple times over the last six months. Looked through the forum and tried removing the battery and resetting the SMC control to no avail. I was having issues also with the screen a month ago but that resolved by itself. When I took it into the genius bar for screen problems I was told I'd probably need a new CPU board because the vram may be going bad and they just don't fix that
problem. Have held off because of a potential $500 repair and awaiting ivy bridge technology. Does anyone in the community know how I can restart my portable. Right now you turn on the machine and the front light stays on for 2 sec and you hear the machine click off?I think you may have already been told what the problem is. Problem with Office 2007 whenever I install the iCloud Control Panel for Windows
Sadly I have a Win7 laptop as my work hack and am using Office 2007. Outside of work I use iCloud to sync calenders between various iOS/OS X devices however whenever I install the iCloud Control Panel for Windows Plugin my email no longer loads. Outlook starts fine and just sits there with an empty inbox waiting for mail to load. I can't even open the iCloud Panel from within Control Panel either to set preferences!
Unistalling the iCloud plug-in resolves this but I really want to sync my iCloud calender with Outlook and can't see any other way to do it, plus it worked before and then just stopped.
Any assistance would be appreciated.I tired everything that was suggested in the forum. Tried IE and firefox to no avail. When I tried computers in stores both worked. A friend of mine who has the 32 bit setup got it to work. Several folks have stated it is the compatability issue with 64 bit. As a last resort, I loaded safari on my home computer, and yep, it works. Go figure, apple product.

My iPhone 5 is facing problem with shifting to 3G once I select the turn on 3G button.
It either takes a lot of time to change to 3G from 2g or sometimes doesn't change to 3G and I am not able to access the 3G speed.
Need help as it is getting very frustrating as I just upgraded to the latest 6.1 OS and its already facing bugs.Thanks Chris for your advice. I have done the restoration from both the device and computer as a new device but it doesn't help. Even I have restored my device to the factory settings with standard apps in it without installing any other additional apps, the phone heats up & I have to recharge at least 3 times per day. This is abnormal to me.

I am facing a strange problem on new iphone 5 that I bought last week. The maps app and the places in photo gallery shows the pin and my location, however there is no information of locations. Tried to close the apps, phone restart, reset etc. I am accessing it via strong wireless connection and it works fine on other devices. Please help.

Well. Many things. I was wondering how I can fixan arsenal of things. Including, my screen connector, because the colors are off and the pixels. My microphone, my fans, my speeakers and yeah.
Nobody here can diagnose hardware remotely if multiple problems,.....much less cost.

What type of card are you trying to use as your payment method, credit or debit ? If it's a debit card then I don't think that they are still accepted as a valid payment method in all countries - from this page :

Check to see how many programs you have open. CMD +Option + ESC buttons and maybe force close programs you aren't using. Remember the "red x" does not completely quit out of the program, to quit permanently use the drop down menu up top, click "application name" from drop down and than go to Quit "application name".

I have MacBook Air late 2011 with encryption enabled the mac froze and I pressed the power button to shut it down but then the gray screen appeared no wheels nothing just gray. I tried all steps but nothing helped. Worse than that only the pram key combination works I cant get the cmd-r or just alt or any combination to work??? Any suggestions would help. Thanks!
P.s. I am on mountain lion with ssd encryption enabled. The mac froze when the internet stopped the one from the cable (I use ethernet usb one) when I turned wifi on it froze. I have disconnected everything when trying the steps except power cable.Boot into Internet Recovery (command-option-R at the startup chime) and try to repair the boot volume in Disk Utility. You will have to unlock the volume before you can do anything with it.
