I am new to Oracle.
I want to enter in this field.
Do I expect more problems regarding SQL/PLSQL???????

For a good overview of PL/SQL, which you don't really have an equivalent of in MySQL or SQLServer you might want to have a look at Mastering Oracle PL/SQL by Connor McDonald. It's clear and reasonably straightforward.
Also, if you're looking to learn, download Oracle XE, it's a first class training database and totally free, available for Windows and Linux. It's missing a few things, like a JVM, but mot of the power of 10g is there. You can get it via otn.oracle.com/xe. It's still in beta (very stable), the production release shoul be out by the end of the month.
Tom Kyte, as the previous poster suggested, is widely regarded as the one of, if not the leading Oracle Technology guru, and all his books are excellent, but they are also daunting if you're just starting into Oracle (in fact, they're still daunting). Have a look at asktom.oracle.com, and if you feel comfortable with the solution discussions, then get the credit card out and start buying, you'll never get a better understanding of the database.

.Mac Alias - Small Niggling Problem for New Apple User

Hi,
I have very recently purchased my very first Apple computer - and yes, i am one of those life long MS-DOS/Windows users who have been lured by the ease and simplicity of the iPod (which apparently a lot of people are loath to admit, but hey, I'm not proud).
Anyhow, having got my nice new shiny system out of its box, and up and running, I set-up up a new .MAC account, and then set-up one alias, the thing is my 'alias' mail is not ending up in my .Mac mailbox, but my other mailbox which belongs to my broadband ISP.
Basically in Apple Mail ( I have OS X Tiger.10.4.3) I have an 'InBox' which shows everything from my two accounts, and separate mailboxes within : One called 'BlueYonder' who is my broadband ISP, and a second mailbox called '.Mac Mail'. IYSWIM?
Now ALL of the mail sent to my standard .Mac account address ends up in the .Mac mailbox, and the 'collective' InBox, but and here is the puzzle, any mail sent to my .Mac ''alias'' goes into the 'Collective' InBox and my 'BlueYonder' mailbox, but not into my .Mac mailbox!
I sent an email to the .Mac support team, and they said that it was either an issue with Apple Mailbox, and that I should look in here at the 'Discussions' or I have a Rule set-up.
Well I don't have a rule set-up except the one that was already set-up when I first bought my system. This is set to just highlight in Blue any mail from any 'Apple' address. No rules are set to move or change locations etc.
So can anyone,if possible please advise me what is going on with my mailbox and also how I can rectify it if possible please?

UC320 dial plan problem for New Zealand

Hi all,
Our UC320 will no longer make outbound calls to local/national New Zealand numbers. International is fine. The problem is that if I dial:
09 375 5967, it gets normalized to +64093755967 (notice the 0 after the 64) and the call fails.
If I dial 0064 9 375 5967 it gets normalized to +6493755967 which is correct and the call works. My users simply won't accept having to dial the additional 0064 for local numbers.
Any idea how to fix this?

the problem as you know already is cause by your secondary extension numbers, that are perfectly overlapping with some external numbers. What is the reason for these secondary extensions ?

Installation problems for new account.

Im making this post so that i can link it for a moderator for use as guidance to my current installation woes. If anyone wishes to add anything please feel free but remember that this post is for the "mods"

I placed my order on the 9th of April 2012 for unlimited evening and weekend calls and BT Infinity option 2.
I received all of the relevent emails confirming my order and the dates for installation were given as:
Phone line engineer: 19 April 2012 between 8am and 1pm
Phone line starts 19 April
Broadband engineer: 19 April between 81m and 1pm
Broadband starts 19 April
On the 18th April i get a text message saying that the Infinity engineer is delayed to the 25th April between 8am and 1pm.
19th of April the phone engineer comes and re-does all the wiring inside the property as needed and realised that the wire from the street pole is missing. He gets that all sorted and then proceeds to the exchange. Returns saying he cannot complete the phone line as a "cable" is missing and leaves.
On the 25th of April the broadband engineer comes and sets up the infinity. He notifys me that only one of the two cables required from the exchange is available but gets Infinity working at 40mb down and 6mb up. He tells me to contact BT by phone (laugh what phone?) to re-book the phone line engineer appointment.
I contact BT on the phone and get through to the Indian call center. He places me on hold while he contacts BT open reach and notifies me that he has "raised" the problem and that an engineer is booked for the 3rd of May.
The next day (26th April) i re-call BT to confirm the appoinment. Just as well i did as the pleasant UK lady told me that no appointment is on the system?! She contacts BT open reach again and tells me that someone should contact me within 24 hours and if i do not hear anything to call back (she gave me a direct number)
Today the 27th of April I receive no phone call back, so once again i call back on the number provided. This time back to the Indian call center (sigh). Once again the guy places me on hold while he speaks to open reach. He proceeds to tell me that the next available slot for the phone line engineer is the 10th of MAY!
My new order summary when checked online is now!:
Broadband installed 25th April
Broadband activated 10th May
Phone line 10th of May
AND Order placed on:Fri 27 Apr 2012!!! huh?
What i want to know is: Can BT actually provide me with this phone line and number any time soon as i can once again see the phone line engineer coming to the property and unable to do anything (like the first) as it is a larger job than expected on the day of install.
I was on Virgin media for TV,Phone,BB and those services are due to expire on the 11th of May. I wanted to place an order with Sky for my TV but i needed the phone line to do this. When i placed my original order for the BT services I allowed ample time (over 3 weeks) between the swap over (19th of april to 11th of may) to place that order to sky. Now i am left with the prospect of having no TV come 11th of May (cant order Sky as no phone line) or phone line since the 19th of April!
Currently (touch wood) the Infinity is working upto 40mb. I am supposed to be on the upto 79mb speed but cant place the upgrade as you guessed it i dont have a phone number!
I just want the services installed as promised and for BT to KEEP their promises when it comes to appointments. So far i am not impressed. If this cannot be resolved soon i will have no option but to call Virgin back and get my old services resumed (which i do not want to do tbh)
As it stands an Engineer is booked for the 10th of May, but i am unhappy with this as i feel this order has been delayed to many times and perhaps this could be "raised"
If a "mod" can get in touch with me regarding this i would be very grateful.

Your activation date Thu 10th May

Makes no sense whatsoever.

I got the above query from our Expert Mr.Sambath only.
Now what is the problem is the query is retrieving the payment details of old Posting Period only and not the current posting period.
In detail, I used 'Primary' Series for FY08-09, Period indicator 'Default'
Now I'm using 'Primary1' Series for FY09-10, Period indicator '0910'

Please check if you have data in VPM2 table which is bank transfer payment method

Capture problems for new Final Cut user

I'm new to final cut, just switching from pc...got a brand new mac pro, fresh install of final cut studio. I am capturing hdv tapes from a Sony FX1 using capture now so that the clips are broken up. It captures perfectly except for the long clip, which is about 40 minutes long. I've gone back to capture it alone and get an unknown capture error after I hit escape to end the capture. There is plenty of room on the hard drive and the ckeckbox in system settings for limiting capture now to 30 minutes is not checked. Any ideas?

Are you capturing using HDV, ProRes, or SD via i.Link Conversion? I also have a Sony FX1, and capturing long clips is only an issue when my hard drives can't keep up or if there is an issue with the tape. Sometimes the tape can have issues and will disrupt your capture. Definitely set your capture scratch to an internal drive if you can and don't capture to your boot drive if possible. If you only have one drive, fork over the 100 bucks and get a 750 gig drive or even two or three and raid them together. You'll be happier if you do.

Problems for new license

I am following with the problem, the downloaded version minisap: SAP NetWeaver ABAP Trial Version 7.0.
It ate the link installed the license, without problems, after the 90 days was again seeking another license.
But the page on the choice of the field: System ID *.
You see only the options:
- LNX - SAP R / 3 4.6B;
- MBS - SAP R / 3 4.6D;
And what I saw in the permit I received by e-mail and not for MBS and NSP.
How can I get the correct version of the license?

I think they already have although publicity about this seemed to be scarce and I only found it by reference in another post.

Sync Problems for new ipod user.

Problem syncing my ipod mini. I can get about maybe half a song on my ipod (it is there when I disconnect it from the pc to check) and the itunes errors out saying "Attempting to copy to the disk "ipod name" failed. The disk could not be read from or written to." If I keep hitting the sync button it will start over again and continue uploading songs to the ipod but sure enough after a few min I will get this same error again. I think I have gotten about 3 songs loaded at the most before getting this error. Thanks for any help in advance and I apologize for asking this question and it has been answered previously.

After searching many postings about this very issue I think I have identified the issue. The iPod Control folder is set to read only. I go in as admin and uncheck that, launch iTunes and sure enough I check the folder and it is set back to read only. Any idea here?

Connecting problems for new HP5940

How do I let airport extreme know that I am connecting a printer. Also how do I know if I am connecting thru ethernet...as it says that wireless printing can not take place if I am connected that way.

Best thing to do is call AppleCare 1-800-myapple, and arrange the transfer I think. Report back on result of this too... been a while since someone did this and posted about the experience here. Would like to know how it goes these days.

Connection problem for d2k with oracle 9i

I have loaded the D2K as well as the Oracle 9i to my Windows-XP OS.But whenever i am trying to connect the database through D2K it is not being possible.After giving the user name & password it is showing error message like "TNS Error". Can anyone help me out with the process of connection??

You gave only user name and password, no database string? (hint: the tnsnames.ora file in your Dev2K install should point to the database, which happens to be on the same machine)
Which TNS Error? There are hundreds if not thousands of TNS error messages.

Activation and WI-FI Problems for new Factory Unlocked iphone 3GS

I live in Tanzania and just purchased an unlocked 3GS iphone directly from Apple. I have put in my SIM and it doesn't seem to work...the phone wants me to first to activate it, which requires a WI-FI network. I have tried to log into my home WI-FI network, however, unsuccessfully. I was prompted for a password to access my network, which I provided, however, then I need to provide a username and password to my internet provider...something the iphone doesn't allow me to do. So, two questions:
1) Can I by-pass activation and just use the iphone as the mobile phone I need it to be and;
2) If not, how can I complete my WI-FI log in if not provided the opportunity to do so?

You should be able to activate the phone through iTunes, have you tried that?

Problem for new member downloading and using programs

Have paid my suscription and downloaded 6 cc apps. Have followed the instructions to launch the programs and am taken to a window which ask me to start trial. This getm to the program but to a trial version. When I close the program and try again it asks if I want to restart the trial. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Can you help please. paper documents into digital images)?YES. Both Oracle UCM and IPM have OOTB support for ingesting scanned images. Oracle does not supply the scanning hardware though. Most likely you're useing some kind of solution like Kofax.
