Hide a managers own cost center when he or she fill it's own timecard

Hi,
Does anyone know how to hide a managers own cost center when he or she fill it's own timecard? For transparancy we want to hide the managers own costcenter when filling out his or her own timecard.
If not possible does anyone know in witch CO, VO or AM to code this most efficently?
If you have any clue or examples, please let my know.
Thanks
Best Regards
Gjermund

Cost Center is basically a column. If it is then you have to extend the page controller & set the column render property to false.
Depending upon the Manager login.
Thanks

  • Hide Controlling Area from Cost center in report

    Hi Experts,
I have Costcenter as reporting field in BW report. Controlling Area is compunding char for Cost center.
In the report, it shows both values (cost center and controlling area) when i use cost center in query. foreg. KO01/C123456 as key.
(KO01 is controlling area and C123456 is Cost center)
Is there any way to ONLY display Costcenter value in report??
    Thanks in advance.
    -Abhijit

You can add controlling area IO in the line and hide it (in properties set never display) or you can also insert it in filter with fix value KO01.
    Hope it helps.

  • Modifying the cost center when posting an MM invoice

    Hi All,
my client wants to change the Cost Center assignment field when posting an invoice coming from MM process (PR>PO>SES).   I'm now using transaction MIRO to make some test and I see the field is 'not modifiable'. I tried to see if i could sort it out from trx.OME9 but i am not really sure how and if i am in the right way. Somebody can please give any clear advices for this requirment?      Thanks so much in advance,
    regards
    Livio

    HI,
Just to make sure that there is no confusion here, the changeable indicators DO work if you have a valuated receipt, you CAN change  the assignment, but the postings have already been made and will not be affected by the change (it will simply affect further receipts after the change) and so Shoaib is right in some respects because it is not changing the posting, but the fields can be changed to affect future receipts, even after a valuated GR. (I have done this many times).
But I think that the problem with this query is the fact that it is a service PO with the item category D. There is additional validation involved due to the complex data of a service PO.
So I would suggest that you try to change it in the service entry sheet or PO (you may have to reverse the SES first.

  • Prompt for cost center when posting depreciation

    Hi all,
Do you know where can i enable 'Depreciation posting with cost center'? Now each time it ask for cost center.
    Thanks.

A cost center must be defined in order to post depreciation because it is posting to an expense account.  In the SAP standard setup, expense accounts must have a cost center assignment, revenue accounts must have a profit center assignment, and balance sheet accounts must have company code assignment, respectively.  To my knowledge, it would take a great deal of  FI configuration change to make the deprecation expense accounts not require a cost center (and probably unadvisable).

  • Customizing RPCPCC00 Cost Center Report

Is there a way of restricting detail in RPCPCC00 for certain cost centers, while allowing the user to drill down for other cost centers in the same report?
We have a situation where 2 financial managers are using this report.  However, one manager should not have the ability to see Executive Pay information, while the other can.  All of these executives are in their own combined cost center.  The restricted Financial Manager should be able to see the postings on the Cost Center level, but not the individual postings that make up those totals.  He should also not be able to download the detail into Excel for that Cost Center when exporting.
I'm trying to avoid having to make a copy of this program and rewriting.
    Thanks!

  • CATS Time Entry - Charging time to a different cost center

We are looking at using CATS for time entry for our salaried non-exempt employees.  Some of these employees charge their overtime to a different cost center.  For example, normally their overtime is charged to their own cost center but periodically they help another group and need to charge the overtime to the other group's cost center.  In the CATS profile where you select the fields you want to be available for input, display, etc., I see cost center as an option.  However, when I select it as a field for input, it does not appear on the timesheet.  I see there are other cost center fields (receiver cost center, sender cost center) but I thought these had more to do with work orders (not sure of that, though) and work orders are not used for this group of people.  Currently, the time is being charged to an alternate cost center when the time administrator enters the overtime via PA30 and then selects the 'Cost assignment' button to record the appropriate cost center. I would appreciate any information/guidance you can provide.  Thank you.

    Hi Kathleen,
We are trying to do the same thing so I understand exactly what you are asking.  We made the sender cost center field an input field via the IMG - Cross-Applications Components> Time Sheet> Time Recording> Choose fields> - select data entry section and look for sender cost centre - field name CATSD-SKOSTL - ensure "input" is selected.
Eventhough we have been able to enter an alternative cost center with an attendance (i.e., different from the employee's cost center saved on IT0001), it is not being transferrred to HR (does not appear on attendance infotype) therefore payroll does not pick-up the cost center with the attendance hours and it is not posted to FI.  Payroll continues to use the employee's home cost center.
Have you been able to get any further with this issue?

  • Material and cost center

    Hi,
May I know where is material kept?
As I understand, only when consumption of materail, it is debited to cost center. So before consume, the material is in inventory.
I would like to know if in inventory, then it is not belong to any cost center? then why in profit center?
    thanks

    Hello
    1) Yes it is possible to debit cost center when the material is consumed in the cost center. An example of this is consumables which are consumed against cost centers with movement type 201. This is because these materials are not part of the BOM and pretty in nature.
    2) Whenever wages and salaries are booked the relevant cost centers are debited. Here the wages account is debited (so also cost center) and bank/wages payable account is credited. When we do actual production we charge direct labour to Manufacturing orders as an activity. This is only a CO entry where the cost center is credited and the manufacturing order is debited.
    3) Profit center is a responsibility area means the person who is managing the profit center is not only responsible for the profit but also responsible for the return on investment. Investment means total of current and fixed assets - liabilities. There may be two profit centers say A and B with investments of 1000 USD and 5000 USD. Both make a profit of 200 USD. So when we see the ROI then A is much better then B.
So to find the total assets which includes stock, we need to maintain them profit center wise. This is the reason why the profit center field is available in material master.
    Hope this clarifies your doubt.

  • How can I restrict options result to only one cost center?

In transaction KS03 (Display cost Center), when I search for a cost center (hit F4), I have an option to drill down by Company code, controlling area, Cost Center Category, Person Responsible etc.
My question is, how can I restrict users to select only controlling area they are authorized for ? Is there any authorization object I can use to restrict user's access to particular value in the table CSKS ?
    Thanks,
    Karan.

    Hi Karan,
If you want to restrict on the values users can return when using F4 lookup then there may be some useful info in the following link:

  • Comparing Cost Center in ME23N and Goods Receipt document

    Hi,
I do not have much functional knowledge in MM and I want to clarify following queries.
I have to build a report that displays the Purchase order value and goods receipt value by cost center ( in the same output screen).
In tcode ME23N of ECC, for any Purchase order item , we can display cost center in Account Assignment tab.( Same appears in table EKKN.)
Also, in the purchase order History tab of ME23N, we can check GR ( Goods redeipt ) and IR ( invoice receipt )documents. ( This GR and IR information is stored in table EKBE.)
    My first query is :
if a PO item has cost center 'C1' associated with this ( in account assignment tab of ME23N), can it be possible that goods receipt document for that PO item has different cost center than C1.
i.e. is it mandatory that goods receipt ( GR ) document has the same cost center as that of corresponding purchase order item ?
While posting the goods receipt, is it possible to edit the cost center in GR document so that after posting GR, PO item shows cost center C1 but GR document shows cost center C2 for that PO item.
    My second query is :
If above scenario is possible, then there must be a table that holds the cost center infomation for a GR document. I would appreciate if anyone can share the table name.
( like we have EKKN for storing cost center of Purchase order item ).
    Thanks,
    Tarun Brijwani.

    Dear Tarun,
Below is the answer to your query:-
    My first query is :
if a PO item has cost center 'C1' associated with this ( in account assignment tab of ME23N), can it be possible that goods receipt document for that PO item has different cost center than C1.
    Not Possible
i.e. is it mandatory that goods receipt ( GR ) document has the same cost center as that of corresponding purchase order item ?
    Yes
While posting the goods receipt, is it possible to edit the cost center in GR document so that after posting GR, PO item shows cost center C1 but GR document shows cost center C2 for that PO item.
    No
    My second query is :
If above scenario is possible, then there must be a table that holds the cost center infomation for a GR document. I would appreciate if anyone can share the table name.
( like we have EKKN for storing cost center of Purchase order item ).
Not possible to have 2 cost center per line item and the cost center per lin item must be same with the cost center when you do MIGO. As a result of that, there is no table where it can store 2 cost center for each line item. Unless you are creating a service PO line item where it required sharing of cost center for the particular services or even asset.
    Thank you

  • Substitution not working for Cost Center

    Hi All,
We are using OBBH to make a substitution for Foreign Exchange valuation to meet one of requirement as cost center at line item level to be blank, we have made cost center field blank in substitution.
When we run the foreign exchange valuation system is updating the cost center from the source line item to the difference account. It is not considering the substitution value which is blank in cost center. But we have added some other fields in substitution those are working fine other than the cost center.
Do I need to make any settings for this to take cost center as blank at line item level.
    Regards,
    Shilpa

    Hi Shilpa,
the substitution may be used for filling the cost center when it is empty, but not for clearing it when it is filled, because the substitution isn't called when the cost center is already filled.

  • Automatic input of cost center in MIRO

    Hy everybody,
I've done a substitution maintenance for automatic cost center input depending on the store of the purchase order and/or the store of inbound delivery. Everything is allright.
Now when I go to the tc MIRO and I've a different amount between the purchase order and the bill : I'can automatically input the cost center.
    Thanks for help

    Thanks for your answer,
the amount I want to input to the cost center when I've done the MIRO, is the recording of the new value of the stock, generated by the new price.
The final issue is I want to have a stock valuation by Store witch are the profit center. So I use the cost center to do that, maybe I'm wrong ?

  • Transfer price (Internal Reveue to be allocated to Production cost Center)

    Hi  Sap Gurus.
My cleint using tranfer price without activiation material Ledger. The internal revenue should not reflect in Fi.  For that we have created ztable and we will be able to transfer the stock between profit center and we are getting internal reveue to the sending profit sender and expenses to the receiving profit center finaally  balance become a zero,(we are maintaing same gl account while doing transfer price). Now expense in receving profit center should consider as part of produt costing. how to allocate this expense to the production cost center when there is no balance.
    Example
SENDING              PLANT 1                  MATERIAL  123456         MM PRICE (10)   TP   15
RECEIVNING        Plant    2                  Material      123456         MM PRICE (10)   TP   15
While taking STO system is posting with material master price 10, but in the production if they are using that material system should take 5 also . 10 is the cost and 5 is overhead.
    help me out?

These are some few things I found out. Below is the result of a test I carried out when I tried to create a Settlement Rule for a statistical order.
Statistical order may not contain a settlement rule
    Message no. KO188
    Diagnosis
Order 12770, for which you are trying to create a settlement rule, is statistical.
    System Response
Statistical orders cannot have a settlement rule because they cannot be settled.
    Procedure
You could possibly remove the statistics indicator from the order (only if nothing has been posted to it yet).
I may be wrong but I have determined that, for production orders, you will have to use Standard Production Order Type and not a statistical order. The object class has to be production as well.
You will only be able to create a settlement rule if it is not a statistical order with the assignment category as ORD. Also, in your order type: Internal Order - Production, under general parameters, you will have to assign settlement profile 30 which is production order.
You may have to define planning profiles for co production orders, costing variant, valuation types.  Maintain order types using KOT2.  Example:
Order Type:  PP01 Standard Production Order
Order Category: 10 PP Production Order
    Number Range Interval: 1000000000--19999999999
    Settlement Profile: abc
    CO Partner Update: Semi-Active
    Check of Classification
Next Maintain Settlement Profile: ABC Standard Production Order
Check off "To be Settled in Full
    Default Allocation Structure: E.G: EB
Indicators: check off: 100% Validation. % settlement, equivalent numbers
    Valid Receivers: 1 for most
    Document Type: OS Order Settlement
    Create Allocation etc.
Hope this gives you some pointers as to how to proceed.

  • Cost center exclusion

    hi all,
I am having an issue regarding Cost center exclusion from line item report KSB1. The user has done a Vendor Invoice posting, with  2 CO Objects (Internal order - non statistical and Cost center). I have done a similar posting using Internal order and Cost center. It's being posted as actual cost for both the Internal order and Cost center(when I run KOB1, KSB1). How can I exclude the posting as actual cost from line item report KSB1. Please let me know regarding this ASAP.
    Thanks

    Hi,
The first point you need to clarify is there cannot be two real cost objects (Cost Center as well as Internal Order). Probably, Internal Order is only for statistical posting. Alternatively, it is posted to Internal Order and settled to Cost Center.
    Thanks
    Murali.

  • Cost Center to Location relationship

We would like to make our cost center (ANLZ-KOSTL) to automatically fill-in a location (ANLZ-STORT) with the Asset Master.
We have approximately 1500 different cost centers so obviously substitution would become very lengthy.
An example would be I have cost center X, Y, Z and  Locations 1,2,3 respectively.
When an asset is filled with cost center X, I want it to automatically fill in the Location with 1
Y would fill in with 2
    Z with 3
Does anybody know how to make this happen?
    Thank you

Thank you for the quick response.
Aside from setting up a substitution do you know anyway of using the Cost Center Hierarchy for these changes.
Or do you know a way to associate the substitution to a cost center group rather than the individual cost center, because our cost centers are not set up within a range, it would require an extensive substitution
