Hierarchies and Sorting in Reports

We have a report where we have included 0Cust_sales hierarchy.  We have a number of customers that are part of the hierarchy and others that are not.
We would like a report to list our customers by sales $ (high to low) across all customers.
Here is an example:
Current Report:
Standard Hierarchy              $25,000
Customer A - Hierarchy         $10,000
   Customer A - Sold To 1        $6,000
   Customer A - Sold To 2        $4,000
Customer B - Hierarchy         $15,000
   Customer B - Sold To 1       $15,000
Not Assigned Customers          $12,000
Customer C                     $12,000
When we select sort descending, the sort is initially done based on Standard Hierarchy and Not Assigned Customers.
We would like the ability to remove that distinction on the report. We would like to have the following results:
Customer B - Hierarchy         $15,000
   Customer B - Sold To 1       $15,000
Customer C                     $12,000
Customer A - Hierarchy         $10,000
   Customer A - Sold To 1        $6,000
   Customer A - Sold To 2        $4,000
Does anyone know if this is possible or the steps that would be required?

Hi,
Once in BEx, just right click on the column you want to sort by. Select Properties > Sorting Tab > Descending.
Hope it helps.

  • How to do merging of data and sorting in reports

    I am writing the ref cursor query to get the output in my report.
    I have to get the data from different data sources.
    I have to merge the data from different sources and finally sort it before showing in the report.
    Is there a way to do that ?

    Harish,
    I tried creating Some restriction Key figures and calculated key figures as I want this by every month as well. Not a straight forward (easy)way. I had to create many Key figures.
    I really appreciate your response.
    Thank you,
    Pavan.

  • Group and sort in webi report

    I have a requirement to group and sort in a report. Group should be based on id, sort based on time. Time sort should be the priority. Meaning, first criteria to sort is time, but if the id is repeated, time should be sorted for that id.
    e.g, If I have ids A,B,C and values are such that A - 9:15 AM, B - 9:00 AM, A - 10:00 AM, C - 9:30 AM.
    Requirement is as below
    B - 9:00 AM
    A - 9:15 AM
    A - 10:00 AM
    C - 9:30 AM
    If I apply sort on time without group on id, I am getting data in the below manner which is not correct.
    B - 9:00 AM
    A - 9:15 AM
    C - 9:30 AM
    A - 10:00 AM
    If I apply group first, I am not able to apply sort. Since the requirement is to show the least time first.
    Please advice.

    use the variable
    =Min([Time]) In ([ID])
    to sort. Then hide the column by reducing the width and making the font and background color as white.

  • Merging Different Reports and Sort by Groups

    Hi everyone,
    I am merging two different reports by using the "sub-report" function, but wanted to know if I can sort the primary report and the sub report by groups once they are merged?
    For example, the Primary report and the sub report share the same group names, in this case, company names.  However each report represent different data, one for sales performance of all the sales person within the company, and another are sales accounts maintained by the company.
    Ideally, I'd like to see the primary and sub report display the sales account data and sales performance data in one place so I can print them out in packages sorted by company names.   Currently, I am having to print out both reports separately and compiling the printouts manually (Very Tedious!).
    Thank You in advance!
    Frank

    Hi,
      In the case you can try linking main report with sub report using the group field. Right Click on sub report > change sub report link > select the field from main report and link  it to the sub report group field.

  • Htmldb_item.date_popup and sort options in reports

    I use the htmldb_item.date_popup in a report (PLSQL returning SQL). Everything works fine unless I provide the option to sort columns. If I allow a column to be sorted, the date_popup does not return the date to the corresponding field but to another field of the same column. However, the users want to be able to sort the report due to several columns. Can anyone provide a work-around?
    The query is as follows:
    DECLARE
    statement VARCHAR2(32767);
    BEGIN
    statement := '
    select
    htmldb_item.checkbox(47, ID, ''onClick="javascript:doSubmit()"'', :P3_FREISTELLUNG_SELECTED, '':'') as CHECKBOX,
    htmldb_item.hidden(11,ID)||
    htmldb_item.hidden(12,ID_VERTRAG)||
    htmldb_item.date_popup(13,null,VON,''DD.MM.YYYY'',13,10) as BEGINN,
    htmldb_item.date_popup(14,null,BIS,''DD.MM.YYYY'',13,10) as ENDE,
    htmldb_item.date_popup(15,null,ERTEILT,''DD.MM.YYYY'',13,10) as ERTEILT,
    htmldb_item.select_list_from_lov(16,decode(FLAG_CANCELED,null,0,FLAG_CANCELED),''LOV_FREISTELLUNG_NULL'',null,''NO'') as FLAG_CANCELED,
    decode(FLAG_DELETED,1,''direkt gelöscht'',2,''indirekt gelöscht'',''aktiv'') as WERT_DELETED,
    htmldb_item.text(17,BEMERKUNG,20,4000) as BEMERKUNG
    from VERTRAG_FREISTELLUNG where ID_VERTRAG = :P3_KOPF_ID';
    if :P3_FREISTELLUNG_NEU = 2 then
    statement := statement||'
    union all
    select
    null as CHECKBOX,
    htmldb_item.hidden(11,null)||
    htmldb_item.hidden(12,null)||
    htmldb_item.date_popup(13,null,null,''DD.MM.YYYY'',13,10) as BEGINN,
    htmldb_item.date_popup(14,null,null,''DD.MM.YYYY'',13,10) as ENDE,
    htmldb_item.date_popup(15,null,null,''DD.MM.YYYY'',13,10) as ERTEILT,
    null as FLAG_CANCELED,
    null as WERT_DELETED,
    htmldb_item.text(17,null,20,4000) as BEMERKUNG
    from dual';
    end if;
    RETURN statement;
    END;
    PS: I know that the problem already has been discussed in the forum, but I did not find a solution for the problem.

    I have this issue as well with popup_from_query compunded with sorting.
    Wondering if there is any workaround from anyone ?

  • BW hierarchies issue with BOBJ Reporting tools

    Hi All,
    Brief about the requirement:
    Our client was using Mainframe and other tools for their reporting. Now as they have planned to go for SAP, purchased SAP BW 7 and SAP BOBJ XI 3.1 for warehouse and reporting purposes.
    Initial Road map planned for implementation was
    o     to use Crystal for operational and formatted reporting
    o     to use WebI for Ad hoc and interactive reporting
    o     to use Xcelsius for Dashboards
    Once we started analysing the requirements, we observed that client requires hierarchies extensively for reporting and they donu2019t want to compromise in that for reporting. At this situation we have explored the options and came to know from the SAP sites that BO got limitations in case of BW hierarchies. But we not able to articulate the what is the exact issue. Is it with only WebI or Crystal also?
    What we have articulated is we cannot report the hierarchies in BO in terms of nodes - > Sub nodes -> sub nodes instead we can do as fixed columns. Please add me if i am missing anything else.
    And also please let us know options. Options that we were thinking are Implement with BO XI 3.1 considering Advanced analysis tool then upgrade to BO XI 4.1.
    Please suggest us, what is the BW & BO hierarchy issue and right tools to use.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Bala

    Our client uses XI 3.2 but is experiencing issues with Hierarchical BEX queries returning blanks - the mdx is fine - just webi that seems to have a problem and I'm also trying to determine in exactly which instances this occurs.
    XI 4.x supposedly resolves mots issues but here again details are not known.
    I.e. hopefully someone can point to an info source that describes in more detail what issues are likely to occur re hierarchies and webi.

  • Sorting in report 10g?

    Hello Experts,
    Could you please help me? Is there a way to sort Oracle report by formula column? We selecting some columns in the report and one of the columns is a complicated select from different tables returning value. We want to sort the report by this column. How to do that?
    Thanks for your help.
    Yash

    Hello,
    You can move the formula column at the top of the query and the select its Break Order property(more on this in Reports Builder Help Contents).
    Regards,
    Alex

  • Hierarchy Analysis Authorization in BW and BOBJ Webi Report

    Hello,
    We have a scenario wherein we have implemented Analysis Authorizations (Hierarchy) on Organizational Unit info object (0ORGUNIT) and need to report on BOBJ WEBI. Our scenario is as following
    ORGUNIT    - L0 (Overall Enterprise Level)
    -     L1 (Enterprise - Continent Wise Split)
    -     L2 (Enterprise u2013 Country Wise Split)
    -     L3(Enterprise u2013 City Wise Split)
    E.G-
          LO (Company ABC) MANAGER 0 will have access to the entire organization
               -L1 (ASIA) MANAGER1 will have access to ASIAN Subcontinent
                      -L2 (India) MANAGER 2 will have Access to country India
                                -L3 (New Delhi) MANAGER 2.1 will have access to city Delhi
                                -L3 (Mumbai) MANAGER 2.2 will have access to city Mumbai
                       -L2 (Malaysia) MANAGER 3 will have access to Country Malaysia
                                  -L3 (Kuala Lampur)
                                  -L3 (pahang)
                 - L1 (Europe)
                                            u2026..
    The requirement is that the CEO of the company should be able to see the entire set of data ( L0-L4).We have continent managers who can see that data specific to their continent, similarly at L3 Level the city manageru2019s should see the data only for their specific city.
    In BI we have used analysis authorization based on hierarchies. We have created an authorization object say ZAUTH1 and have assigned the hierarchy L0 from RSECADMIN. Now, in Webi when we create a report a sample row comes as :
    L0 Org Unit     L1 Org Unit     L2 Org Unit     L3 Org Unit     SALES Key Figure
    Company ABC     Asia          India          Mumbai          1000
    Now, we have MANAGER 2.2 who has only access to the data specific to his city (Mumbai). There is an Analysis Authorization object created for him ZAUTH2, by ONLY assigning the org unit hierarchy L3 (for Mumbai). When we run the bex report with the user MANAGER 2.2 u2013 it correctly displays the result and the user is only able to see the data for L3 Org Unit (Mumbai). However when you bring this data to Webi u2013 the report comes in the below format:
    L0 Org Unit     L1 Org Unit     L2 Org Unit     L3 Org Unit     SALES Key Figure
    Mumbai                                           1000
    The L3 org unit has now got assigned to L0 Org unit , as this is the only org unit assigned to the MANAGER 2.2 user .
    In such a case we are not able to write any generic formulae for the report. Is there a way to correct this issue? u2018Mumbaiu2019 should either get assigned to the L3 OrgUnit column is webi report , or is there a workaround that is possible ?
    Thanks and Best Regards,
    Vj

    Hi Vijay,
    The problem you speak of is known and comes from the fact that the hierachy is flattened in the process of delivering it to WebI. Therefore there is no real 'solution' to the problem, just some work-arounds you can think of...
    1)
    Create a report variable that starts looking at the lowest level, if it is empty check one up, and so on until you found what you were looking for (the lowest leaf available), which by definition must be there (even if it is top level).
    Using similar logic you can also get a 'number of levels avaible' and so fill in the complete tree (duplicating the highest level).
    This is difficult to explain when end users create their own reports, though you could provide a template report with these variables in there already.
    2)
    Extend the hierarchy with duplicates below the lowest level.
    So i.e. L0 Company - L1 Continent - L2 Country - L3 City- L4 City - L5 City- L6 City.
    This will give back on the four levels for top authorization
    L0 Company - L1 Continent - L2 Country - L3 City
    For authorization on Continent:
    L0 Continent - L1 Country - L2 City- L3 City
    For autorization City
    L0 City- L1 City - L2 City- L3 City
    So in all situations the fourth level, the L3 Object will hold the City level.
    This you can then use in your report.
    Hope this helps,
    Marianne

  • Sorting the report by clicking the column header

    Hello,
    Currently working on a requirement where i need to sort the report by clicking the column header. Can anyone please help me on this.
    Suppose i have 3 colums deptno,dname,sal fields in my report. if i click deptno column header,  report has to sort by deptno.Like that i need for other columns also.
    Any help is really appreciated
    Thanks
    Ram

    Hello,
    You can sort the fields using method suggested by Cauvery. However if you would like to have Ascending/ Descending sort order control at column header, then would require to implement few additional steps.
    First do the sorting of field using the way suggested by Cauvery. Once sorting is done, right  click on the column name and  select the option ' Bind Sort Control'. You will see the sorted field in the window. select the field and click ok.
    Now you would get 2 arrows on column. If you click upper arrow, fields would be sorted in Ascending Order and if you click on down arrow, it would  be in Descending order.

  • Creation and Generation of report in SAP CPS

    Hello Experts,
    Please suggest me and guide me how to create and generate a report in SAP CPS. Some of the functionalities are not properly explained in Admin guide.I got very less information regarding this.Below is my requirement.
    I want to generate a report that should show the list of jobs for the past 1 month.The report should be dynamic.No hard code.I want to run this report at the end of every month.So for this i will create a time window.
    So please help me to proceed with my task.Also please provide me some links where i should get the full functionalities for all the tabs under report along with example so that i could better understand it.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Ashish Dey.

    Hi,
    The easiest approach is the following:
    - go to the Job Monitor, and create a job filter that matches your needs (or check if it already exists)
    - when you have a filter that suits your needs (in this case: last month's jobs), go to Definitions, Reports
    - create a new Report, based on a query filter: the name of the filter you created (or a predefined one)
    - add columns to your report (or add all columns)
    - add a sort order if you want to
    - further where clauses are not required if the filter already does what you want it to do
    - save the report
    Use the JobDefinition System_ReportRun (if I recall correctly) to schedule this report on the last day of every month.
    Regards,
    Anton.

  • Tax Report and Tax Reconcilation Report

    Can anyone tell me what is the difference between Tax Report and Tax Reconcilation Report?
    What is Tax Reconcilation Report supposed to do?

    From the Help Files this is what I have
    Tax Report
    In this report, you can display documents and manual journal entries that include tax amounts, sorted by tax code.
    The tax report includes the following documents:
    A/R and A/P invoices and credit memos
    Stock transfer documents – The stock transfer transactions are displayed only in order to report the transactions in the report due to the fact that the tax percentage is 0.
    Manual journal entries
    Incoming payments and payments to vendors that are not based on invoices
    Incoming payments and payment to vendors that include cash discounts
    Tax Reconciliation Report
    This report enables you to track the taxes amounts that were posted in sales and purchasing documents and in manual transactions.
    The report displays the G/L accounts involved in these transactions and calculates the tax amounts that should have been paid, based on the tax codes defined for each transaction.
    The report covers the following transactions:
    A/P and A/R invoices
    A/P and A/R credit memos
    Manual journal entries
    A/P and A/R down payment invoices
    Incoming and outgoing payments

    hi Friends,
    Currently i am working on setup of EEO reports. i have done the setup successfully but i am not able to get the exact differece betweein EEO-1 , EEO-4 and EEO-5 reports.
    and the same time, i am facing one problem that when i am setting the Business group EEO REPORT = EEO-1 then in Job further information i am not able to select EEO function
    but when in business group I am taking EEO report= EEO-4 i am able to select values from Job further information for EEO function.
    Kindly help me to sort out this problem.
    Thank You
    Basaw

    Hi Basaw,
    Currently I have a requirement to work on setting up EEO reports in Oracle HRMS. Actually the set up was previously done by some other consultants which was incomplete. Hence the report is not pulling all employees. This is what our client reported to us.
    So if you can share some setup documents on it as you have mentioned that you have already configured it; it would be of great help.
    You can email me at [email protected]
    Thanks

  • What i sthe diff b/w   Interactive Report  and ALV Interactive report

    Hi All,
    I want to know the basic diff b/w Interactive  report and ALV interactive report.
    Can any one tell me the exact diif.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Jd

    hi jagadish,
    both are used for same purpose
    interactive report means an output list which displays basic details & allows user to interact, so that a new list is populated based on user-selection. With interactive list, the user can actively control data retrieval and display during the session. a total no of 21 lists including main list are genearetd in interactive lists.
    I suggest to use ALV.by using ALV we can display in Grid as well as list format.
    Output format will be good . Sorting,Filtering facilities are provided by itself.We can have column headings also. using oops we can also do alv reporting.
    if helpful reward some points.
    with regards,
    suresh babu aluri.

    What is the difference between Interactive report and ALV Interactive report.
    i think there is no much difference the same Interactive report Events and functionality we will implement with ALV.
    Experts guide me.

    Hi,
    ALV interactive report gives many advantages than interactive report like sorting, summing and getting graphics.
    An interactive report generally basic list displayed. User double clicks on any valid line or user selects a line and presses as button on the tool bar. Then the corresponding event is triggered
