Hierarchies in wad

Hello.
I'm new in wad and I have a question.
I want to create a new interface based on a layout that is on bps. But that layout haven't hierarchies and I want to have on the web.
Is any way to do that?

My question is concerning to BSP Application. I don't have a tree on my code, but what I wanted is to know if there is the change o manipulate data with a tree?
Imagine a tree.... when isn't open it's like this:

Printing Hierarchies in WAD

Good afternoon!
I have question or two. I can now get my template to print the logo but my print out needs to have lines to align the tables, in excel, I would use the format cells and border function. My print out has one table with 20 rows and 9 columns and the other table has 3 rows and four columns.
Secondly, I am using a hierarchy in my queries and am also using that to filter the web template on. My hierarchy is as follows
Total Region (adds North and South together)
North Region
Hospital A
Hospital B
South Region
Hospital C (includes entity D & E)
Hospital G
Hospital H
When I select Total Region, I only want to see the data in table 1 and table 2 for the Total Region. This exact data appears on my screen when I select the Total Region, however, when I go to print Total Region, I am getting 15 pages, which includes all hospitals and entities under Total Region. How do achieve printing only the level selected?

Hierarchies displayed with variable (IP & WAD)

Dear Experts.
We are having difficulties in defining value restrictions for (2) hierarchy variables. Unexecptionally all available hierarchies are showing with the hierarchy variables for a given characteristic.
Objective: We are currently building web layouts for planning (with 2 queries per tab page). Now, 2 different hierarchy variables, one for Input and one for Display of queries, are supposed to restrict the listed char. value (rows). We are looking at two sets of hierarchies about 5 each (in total there is about 30 hierarchies on this characteristic).
Background: Within BW-BPS's Web App Builder one had previously an option to use so called "Packages Selection" where planning packages from BPS0 could be defined with different hierarchies underneath a given planning level. Thereby the effect of having filtered a hierarchy selection could be achieved.
Wonder whether there is a way to solve this with the Integrated Planning tools set (QD, WAD)!?

Problem is i need to do some calculations in FM and call this FM using formula type planning function.in that FM i used RSDRI API to write data to cube(is there any way i can write to buffer or display calculated values in input ready query??).
So when i use custom planning function button..it writes data to cube and then if i want it to displayed again as it is not in buffer i used save_web_template standard button, which will show values but not in planning mode(and it gives warning infoprovider is locked).so my input ready is lost.
is there any work around. or is there any way to refresh from the request.
Please provide your inputs for the needful.

WAD 3.5 - Pass a date to Hierarchical Filter Selection Key Date

I'm working in WAD 3.5, with 3.5 queries. I currently have a Hierarchical Filter Selection on Org Unit using a query with no Key Date set, so as to pull the most current version of the hierarchy. This filter selection is then applied to several charts and tables below.
I need the web app to initially display this current version, but also allow the user to select a date, which triggers a requery of the Hierarchical Filter Selection data provider, passing the date selection to the key date of the data provider query. 1) how do I pass the date (currently from a drop down) to the key date of the other query, and 2) how do I force a requery of the Hierarchical Filter Selection?
The problem we are attempting to address is that if Org Unit A contained Org Units 1, 2, and 3 at the end of 2007, but only 1 and 2 today, the Hierarchical Filter Selection will not show #3, thus not allowing the user to drill down to it. If they can choose the version/point in time of the hierarchy, they will then have the ability to drill down on the older Org Units.

Our solution was to modify the user exit variables and store the values in a MEMORY ID and restore from there.

Wad - Collapse Hierarchical filter

Hi all
I am using wad v 3.5. I have a problem with Hierarchical filter selections. If a user clicks and opens the filter display and then moves the mouse off of the filter they want the filter to collapse back to its original status. Currently the filter remains open and blocks some data on them.
Does anyone know some javascript or code that will collapse the filter when the user moves the cursor of of the filter.

URGENT::Hierarchy Variable creating Problem in WAD

Hi,
I am using Profit Center as Hierarchy variable in my Queries, when i run the report in WAD portal, and select the profit center on the selection screen, after clicking the check button it appears with compounding Characteristic Controlling Area as prefix.
In the back end for the Profit Center Hierarchy data each node has Controlling Area attached with profit center(value), whereas in master data for profit center we don't have controlling area attached with profit center(value).
For eg: if the Profit center has value P0001 has the controlling area is CA01 then the master data of profit center shows the value as P0001 whereas when we look at Hierarchal nodes it displays as CA01P0001 along with its description.
So when we run the Query we dont get any data because it shows that profit center CA01P0001 node does not exist in Hierarchy.
But in Analyser Query is working fine.
Please suggest some solution.

This issue is resolved with note:
1558066 WAD Metadata corrupt due to invalid entries in RSZWMDITEM
There are some incorrect entries in the table which is causing an issue.
Could you please follow the below to delete the entries manually:
1> Go to Transaction: SE16
2> Enter the table name = RSZWMDITEM and press enter
3> Enter the value for MDITEMNAME = TARTITLE and execute.
4> You will find 3 entries for the value TARTITLE. Could you please
delete all these 3 entries from this table.
After doing the above steps, please refresh the metadata by doing the
below steps:
1> Open Web Application Designer.
2> Go to Tools->Settings - > Refresh Metadata and press OK
now close and restart the web application designer. It should work fine

Hierarchical Filter Web Item causes validation warning.

When I validate my web template which contains a hierarchical filter web item agianst the server I get the following warning (W1):
Mapping for Service item_validation_service for Object HIERARCHICAL_FILTER_ITEM missing
Maybe this also relates to my problem of not having the possibility to choose a characteristic for the hierarchical filter (see my post <a href="https://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?threadID=209968&tstart=0">https://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?threadID=209968&tstart=0</a>)
How can I fix this mapping issue?

Hello,
Your first problem is that ABAP SP does not equal Java SP. This is not a valid scenario.
Please update both to <b>the same SP level</b>.
After it, please retest your problem. I think that the problems will be solved (at least this one with validation service).
Short explanation to validation service:
Every template created in WAD will be validated before saving it. We have two validations:
1. one is locally with the meta data this checks if:
- all used parameters are on its place,
- all parameter values are valid,
- all defined items are existing...
2. second one is extended validation on the Java Server: this one checks i.e. following:
- are all used data providers valid
- are all used characteristics valid
- item dependent validation (e.g. if one item needs a dependency between to setting - this can be checked here)
The first one will be executed in Front-End and in ABAP Back-End. The second one in Java. Because your Java stack is /probably/ lower than ABAP, this validation does not work.

How to display Hierarchy Variable in BI 7.0 WAD

Hi Experts
I have a variable for Cost Center which is a Hierarchy Variable and not a Hierarchy Node Variable. I am using BI WAD 7.0 and my requirement is that the user wants to see for what Hierarchy s/he ran for.
I am using a Information Web Item whihc is under Advanced tab. After dragging that I check the box for Variables so that the user see all the variables he ran for and after s/he prints its more precise report.
My problem is I cant see the Hierarchy variable value in my Web Template ....I can see at the variable POP UP screen I enter my Hierarchy but after executing it I dont see my Hierarchy variable value.
Your suggestions will be reciprocated with Points.

To substantiate my earlier question ...I have 3 Hierarchies for 0COSTCENTER
In the WAD under the Information Web ITem i check the box for
Display Variables (VARIABLES_VISIBLE)
I have 3 variables
1) Hierarchy Variable : user will pick 1 out of 3 Hierarchy
(not a node but entire Hierarchy)
2) Fiscal Year/period
3) Value type
But I can see only 2 variables after the Web template is executed , the user wants to see for what hierarchy it ran when it prints the report

Hierarchies - Drill Up/Down doesn't work

Hello!
May be I am doing this incorrectly. I've followed Moya Watson's work around ([https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/4155b345-0a01-0010-ac9f-b3b2c34e993c|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/4155b345-0a01-0010-ac9f-b3b2c34e993c]) to enable drill down/up for hierarchies in VC.
When I run the iView, I see my tree's root expanded with 10 child nodes (all with a '+' infront, meaning they can be expanded). When I click on "Drill Up" when the root is selected, all nodes collapse as expected; "Drill Down" also works by expanding the root node and showing the 10 child nodes. However, this functionality doesn't work for any of the 10 child nodes. When any of the 10 nodes is selected and either "Drill Down" or "Drill Up" is clicked, the table refreshes but there is no change in the table (all nodes remain as they were before).
So, the buttons only work for the top most node. Does anyone know what I could have done incorrectly? When this is run via WAD template, it works as expected.

An update.
After some testing, I found that the problem drill up/down are working for only node level 1 <-> 2, was because the part in the web api formula that's related to "Filtering the hierarchy" isn't working.
Here's the code:

Authorization Problem with Hierarchical Filter

Hi Gurus!
In our BW system I created a query that includes hierarchy-enabled characteristic
(0costcenter). 0costcenter has a hierarchy node variable to restrict
user's data by using authorization.
Then I created an authorization object from t-code RSECADMIN, in this auth.
object, restricted 0costcenter from hierarchy authorization tab , and
selected 6 nodes (the nodes have no sub-nodes).
In our web template ( WAD 7.0 ) I used hierarchical filter to see the 6 nodes in our report. It works fine when I first open the template in our Enterprise Portal that we see in the variable screen,0costcenter's variable captures the nodes that I restricted in our authorization object.
In the portal the hierarchical filter displays only selected nodes but this filter shows the hierarchy's root (name of the hierarchy) and when we choose the root the analysis displays all the values, the authorization do not work here.
From RSECADMIN, In the hierarchy authorization tab, I tried all the type of hierarchies but all of them gave the same result.
When i execute the report in BEx Analyzer, the authorization works fine, I think the problem is about hierarchical filter but i cannot find any solution...

WAD 7 and Custom CSS for a single Web Template

Hell GURUs,
We were used to create custom CSS for every template (WAD 3.x).
We could not find a way to do the same with WAD 7.
We dont want to create many Portal Themes in order to overcome this problem; moreover certain objects like hierarchies can not be formatted correctly spoiling the theme editor.
As I said our goal is to have the maximum flexibility like before; hence, can you please suggest us a way to create a custom CSS for a single template?

Hi,
You can create CSS style sheet in BI 7 as MIME object and use the same in your web templates.
go to the transaction SE80 -> MIME Repository -> SAP -> BW -> Customer ( path may different as per the system setting.

WAD printing problem

hi all
when I print WAD report using browsers print option . I see only table and the hierarchical filters in the print out. But I also have text element and navigational filter web item on the same pageand I cant see these items on the print out. Can you please advice me on this?. Also my client is not satisfied with printing functionality in WAD, any other alternatives for good printing ?

Looooong text in hierarchical filter after SP15

Hello,
We discovered a problem after upgrading our BI-servers to SP15 (from 13). When we use hierchical filters in WAD the text description of each leafenode includes all the attributes. This results in an extremely broad hierchical filter.
Has anyone experienced this, and if so, is there a fix on it?

We have the same problem. We opened a message similar. Search for
"Problem with the view of an hierarchical filter selection". We were told to check note 1144979, but our client system deptm didn't apply the note.
Maybe it will help you.

F4 search help is not getting displayed in WAD

For a certain InfoObject we want to add an attribute in the F4-search help. The additional attribute does appear when executing the query in the Bex Analyzer but not on the Web. Can anyone tell me how to achieve this in WAD?
