High bill analysis

Hi,
We are implementing an enhancement to analyze customer's bill, if the current month's bill is very high compared to previous month's bill then we have to look into some of the reasons proposed:
Consumption History
Meter Over Estimated
Correcting a Previous Read
Wrong Move In Read
Wrong Move Out Read
Rate Changes
I would like to get some help from you to retrieve the data for each reason, are there any standard BAPI/FM to get the data or do I need to look in the tables like EABL, EABLG .
Appreciate your help!

Use the standard validations processes to set tolerances on meter reading entry. High values will be marked implausible, & require management before release to billing.
SPRO>SAP Utilities>Device Management>Meter Reading>Validations
Alternatively you could review package EE17 & see how the standard functions hang together.
Enhancements in the EDM* space would then be the point of reference for custom logic you may need.
specifically EDMLELSV, or EDMLELDE.

    hi,
msg AH371 usually occurs when the billing date is before the scheduled billing date
(which you gave during billing order creation).
or if the meter reading entry is missing.
    hope this solves it.

  • High bill with unusual calls and texts from non-functioning numbers?

We have a family share plan with 3 phones, one phone for my husband and two phones for our employees.  Our usual phone bill runs around $150.  Our last bill was over $600, the majority charges being on one of our employee's lines.  This particular employee has been with us for over 10 years, and has always been extremely trustworthy and very frugal in his usage of his phone to make personal calls (very infrequent and always less than 5 minutes in duration, unless made during the free nights and weekends timeframe).  Our latest bill showed over 1,000 texts to/from his phone, as well as over 3,000 peak calling minutes (both to/from his phone) alone.  Many of the peak calls are lengthy in duration (30+ minutes, up to 120 minutes).  I realize this post is long, so will divide it into headings so that it makes more sense:
    Information on usage:
Our employee insists that he did not make these calls and texts (he does not even know how to text), and what is odd about the numbers that appear on the detail (both text and voice) is that they fit into one of two categories:
    1.  There are calls to two particular non-local area code numbers (and possibly bogus, as they have area codes 523 and 352(?)).  When I call the two numbers, I get the following messages:
From my landline:  When called from my landline, adding a "1" before the 10 digit number, I get the recording stating that "your number cannot be completed as dialed, please check the number and dial again"
From a cell number- When calling from my own VZW phone (on separate account from husband's), I get a VZW message that the number "has been changed, disconnected or is no longer in service"
    2. They are local area code numbers, but when I call the number, I get a recording asking me to enter my pin number (in other words, they are numbers that cannot receive incoming calls, but according to our bill, have not only made calls to our employee's phone, but also received calls.  I have done an online lookup on these numbers and they are all cell phones.
    3.  When I have tried to text the non-local numbers from my VZW phone, I get messages back stating that these are landline numbers and cannot be texted; when I text the local numbers, I have texted a generic message along the lines of "I can't reach you on the phone.  Please call me as soon as you can" but I do not receive a call back.
We cannot speak directly with our employee right now (he is in Mexico to pick up his elderly grandmother),  nor can we access our employee's phone to check the log, call history, etc. because he has the phone with him.  Due to this, when we discovered the high usage, we immediately "suspended" the phone line so that no calls could be made or received.  Subsequent to suspending the line, we have talked to his family a couple of times -- one time he happened to call them on another line, so we talked to him "indirectly" through a family member on another line with him.  He was alarmed about the calls and insists he did not make them.
He does have children but they are forbidden (by him) from using the phone, and he states that he always keeps the phone in a case on his hip, thus no one else has access to the phone.  To go even further, it seems that most all of the calls to these unusual numbers are made on weekdays, during school hours, so I feel sure the calls were not made by his kids.
Calls to Verizon:  When we first called Verizon, they suggested we suspend the phone until we could speak to our employee.  Subsequent to our indirect conversation with him mentioned above, we called them back and told them he stated that he did not make the calls nor send the texts, and that we believed the phone might have been compromised, cloned, hijacked or whatever.  First, the customer svc rep looked at our account and suggested that we put an unlimited text on the phone for the current unbilled usage (there were a lot of texts, and we have no text plan on the employee's phone), and then remove that plan once we get to the bottom of this matter.
Due to our concern about fraudulent usage, the customer svc. rep called the fraud dept. while my husband was holding on the line.  She came back on the line and told my husband that the fraud dept. said that "it cannot be fraud because if it was, there would be thousands of dollars in international long distance to countries like Pakistan and India." (WTH?)  Also, she said that it couldn't be fraud "because texts were sent to and from the telephone number so we know it was your phone."  (another WTH?)
She then went on to say that it looks like texts were sent to international numbers (???) recently (these same 523 and 352 area code numbers I referred to above).  Number one, if these were international texts, it seems odd to me that these texts show up on our billed and unbilled activity as "domestic text" and there is no premium charge assessed to our account for international texts.  Number two, if these numbers were international numbers, I imagine that we would be charged for outgoing international calls, which we were not.  Further, I imagine that the numbers would be displayed on our bill in other than a ten digit format, but am not sure, as no one has ever made an international call or text on our phone.
    Next steps:
Does anyone have advice for the next steps we should take and how we can get to someone in customer service who can actually help us with this problem, instead of what we experienced on our previous call?  Can we demand that Verizon launch an investigation through its fraud department on the activity on this phone, or is this at the discretion of VZW to launch an investigation?  I am unsure, since this was not given as an option by the customer service rep...
If we can get Verizon to launch an investigation, is payment of the portion of the bill with the unusual and disputed usage (namely, that which is over and above the usual usage) waived pending the investigation results, or will we have to pay the entire bill to both avoid having the phones turned off, as well as any detrimental effects to our credit?  We've been hit hard by the economy, both personally (I am out of work right now) and business wise (my husband's business has been doing only about 25% of its usual business), and we don't have the extra $$ for the bill unless we take it out of our grocery budget.
If anyone has any insight, suggestions or otherwise, I sure would appreciate it.  Sorry for the lengthy first post, but I thought it would be helpful to outline as much about the situation as I could in order that people could respond.  Thanks in advance!

    kbinga,
I know this is a confusing and frustrating situation for you. I would be happy to review the account in detail to see what is happening with the usage and charges to ensure it does not continue to be a problem for you. Please send me a direct message for further support assistance.
    Thank you!

    Dear All,
We give all the material to your job work location and then we get the material packed by our job worker and then we give our job worker packing charges as per the following:
    1. Sulphuric Acid 5 L = Rs.10/- per unit
    2. Nitric Acid 25L = Rs.50/- per unit.
    Like this.
So tell me how should i maintain the job work charges against each FG for the job work, so that at the end of month i can download their monthly bill report through dispatches which they have made between that period.
Kindly also tell me the code which i should use to check their monthly job work bills through dispatch done through stock transfer note.

    Hi..
What is the different between Volumetric Amount and Fixed Amount?
How to find the Premise volumetric and fixed amount with respect to Posting date,Rate Category and Cal. Year/Quarter
Could you please proved is there any table or any transaction code exit
plz give me full information about the amounts and amount process types of amount process..

    Hi Sreenu,
depending on your environment, the fixed amount can be the amout you charge the customer idependently e.g. for the rent of the device. Additionally to that you usually charge a volmetric amout whic is usually calculated with usage times price. But you also can charge a fixed amout without any meter to be read e.g. for street lights. So - it would help very much if you tell a bit more. Oterwise I just can poit to:

  • My bill

I have noticed that my bill has nearly doubled in a month.  I had a five dollar late fee- but an additional $50.00 unspecified charge.  Verizon does not make it easy to contact via e-mail, therefore, I am trying to find an explanation of this high bill via community.

    Shamrock1009,
Thank you for your inquiry. I understand how upsetting it can be to have your bill nearly double itself. Rcschnoor is correct, viewing the full printed bill will give you the most accurate description of all of the charges on your bill. Also, here is a great video that explains how to understand your online bill. If you are having problems understanding the bill or still have questions, please send me a PM with your name & number so I can review your bill.

  • What can be done about this outrageous bill??!

Ok, here's some back story; My girlfriend and I were on the same plan for about a year or so. Here recently we broke up and she continued on the plan for about another month while we were working out some money issues. During that time (not having any Wifi at her house) she constantly watched shows and such on her phone, which sky rocketed the phone bill into it's 70th overage allowance!!! Her line ended up using a total of 80 gigs while mine only used about 5, which is normal. I kicked her off immediately and had her accept responsibility for her own line. I know, I should of done it earlier, but it was a different situation then. Lesson learned I guess.
When that happened, it obviously started a fresh new plan for her and I was stuck with a $1,400 bill! I asked Verizon (customer reps, hadn't spoken to any "supervisors" yet) if there was anything that could be done as far as her taking responsibility for her part of the bill. The obvious answer was no, simply because I'm the account owner and it's my responsibility, which I think is absolutely ridiculous! I'm not the one sitting her ringing up a bill that high. She did it on her line, it's her responsibility! That should follow her over to her account, and she should be liable for paying for the charges she rung up! That would be fair, right?? The way they have it set up now isn't in any way, shape or form fair. When asking about how much time I'd have to pay it, I was told they could only push it out a couple of days. I don't make anywhere near that much in such a short time, let alone with having other bills to pay and everything, and they expect you to just cough it over that quick!
I'm on here to see if there's anything at all that can be done about this stupidly high bill, or if any Verizon associates here might be able to help. If not, I'll take my number and go to another carrier. This is ridiculous and I'm not at all happy!

As the account owner, you are personally responsible for all charges on your account.  Period.
If you feel that another person is responsible for the charges, then Small Claims Court would be the avenue for you to explore.
You might want to contact Verizon Financial Services and set up payment arrangements for the amount you owe.  There might be more that they can do to schedule a series of payments.
    Financial Services:  866-266-1445
    Customer Service:
Dial *611 from your cell phone
    (800) 922-0204
    Monday-Sunday 6 am-11 pm
And even though she is off your account now, you might also want to set up data alerts on your account so that you get alerted when you are near your data limit.  It's one thing to be a little bit over, but 80GB?  Seriously?

  • Change Minutes Plan = $500 Bill

Back in October I called the 1-800 line to inquire about having a lower allotment of minutes for the two lines on my account because of the fact that we hardly use any of them. The representative I talked to was able to take our 700 minutes plan and drop it down to 450 and all seemed well. Saved around $40 per month on my bill. Fast forward to this past Sunday (12/29) and I received my e-mail reminder that my bill was available for viewing/payment. I look and come to see the amount had jumped to a staggering $511.07 (see screenshot below).
    (image containing phone number removed)
I immediately called the 1-800 line to find out why it was so high and the representative I talked to (named Sam, no last name) informed me that when I made the plan change of 700 minutes to 450 minutes, that doing so took away the unlimited messaging feature. Thus the two lines were charged per message sent/received. This was not mentioned to me when I made that change back in October. Sam put me back on the 700 minutes/unlimited messaging and said he escalated the matter and would contact me the following day (12/30) with an update on the matter. Sam did contact me the following day (after I requested an update through online chat) and he informed me that he was still waiting review from his supervisor and would contact me the following day (12/31).
Yesterday came and went without an update from Sam and this morning, I called the 1-800 line and the representative I talked to today (Genesis, badge: (removed)) was far more helpful in that first she informed me that when I made the initial call on Sunday, the billing error should have been rectified right then and there. She then proceed to fix the issue which resulted in her crediting my account an amount of $297.40 (see screenshot below). Genesis informed me that by the end of the day when check my account, the balance should no longer be $511.07, rather $213.67 after the credit has been applied. As of writing this post, the amount still shows $511.07.
    (image containing private info removed)
That said, an amount of $213.67 is still more than what I have been paying in the past (see screenshot below) and while I am very appreciative of the help Genesis provided this morning, I do not consider the matter to be completely rectified. I made a change on my plan but was not informed at that time that a key feature would be taken away and now I'm stuck with an abnormally high bill.
Is the credit of $297.40 the best that can be done in terms of rectifying this or can more be done? I gotta say, looking at the prices of the other carriers, it's looking like a switch is going to be in order and this billing snafu is only accelerating it.

For it to be cheaper changing from 3GB to 10GBm you would need 6 or more lines on your account. 3gb is $40 per month and 10 GB is $100 per month. For lines out of contract, you get an additional $10 per month discount, but only on lines out of contract (on NEXT or completed 2 year contract or Bring your own phone).
The out of contract discount is $15 for plans that have data plans of 6Gb or smaller and $25 discount for plans that have 10GB or larger.
If you change mid cycle, there will be a prorated charges for the partial month.
If the original poster normally uses 1-2GB over their plan allowance, then it wouldn't take as many phones on the account for the 10GB plan to be cheaper.

  • BT billing cut me off 16 days after issuance of th...

    Hi,
I've been a BT customer for twenty odd years.  In those twenty years I've experienced plenty of problems:- poor service, disgusting technical assistance, high bills, customer service people who don't understand me as they can't speak English well, long irritating automated telephone systems costing me each minute I wait, and just plain arrogance and incompetence.   I've stayed because most of the time the service works ok, I'm a busy person and like an easy life.   I'm a pretty good customer too, and BT have made plenty from me.
I dislike direct debits, so I pay quarterly via the internet.   I pay a premium for this even though the admin for BT is negligible if it exists at all.     I have noticed that they've decided I have a ten day payment window.   I ignore this and pay all of my bills on the same day each month, in the month they come in.
Last month, I received (by email) my quarterly bill.   It came in on the 3rd, and I pay bills on the 25th.   On the 19th I was getting ready to fly somewhere and needed to transfer money by online banking.   My service had been CUT OFF! no warning.  I found out by my browser going to this lovely designed BT page saying your service has been cut off, click here to pay your bill now.     I went ballistic and phoned--at a time when I didn't have a lot of time!   It took two phone calls from my mobile phone (the first cut me off as I didn't have my customer number to hand) and over 10 minutes to get to a human being with English as a second language--par for the course! and by the way BT and the other companies that do this, not ideal for telephone service by the way!, I doubt we're getting any financial benefit as customers in our bills from the pittance they pay in these other countries for these call centres.     At first this person insisted I have to pay which I flat out refused.   16 days!    I'll bet BT don't pay their vendors that fast.   I persevered, and was angry but not rude, after threatening to cancel my account, this person reinstated my service.
I complained in writing and requested that a solution to this problem might be to increase my billing period to 30 days, so their cutting off service which is probably automated wouldn't kick in.   I received a polite reply, refusing.     So BT, I'm leaving.
I have to wait for a while, until 1 May, as I had just upgrated to their Infinity service and I'm locked in until 1 May 2013.   I could go now, but I won't pay their extortionate fee for leaving early.   Once upon a time I might have forgotten all about it, but not this time.    The date is in my diary, and so will be my MAC code.  I'm already gone.  Long overdue.   Any suggestions out there for a great competitor?   I've started my search.
It may seem like a small thing, I can and probably will just adjust my billing cycle to ensure I pay it ON DEMAND! until the 1st of May next year so I don't have it happen again.   But I resent being bullied like this, and I resent being treated like this.  It is the straw that broke this camel's back.     When companies treat their customers like their B**CHES, then the b's bite back and go.
It would be good if a customer retention service read these remarks and took note, but I know they don't care.  Neither do I anymore, and I've got plenty of time to find a better replacement!

    Hi JS_Regiate,
I am really sorry that your service was cut off.  I understand completely the points you are making, taking into consideration your long term custom with us, coupled with regular payments, I appreciate that this must have been annoying.  Especially when throwing your travel complications into the mix.
If you would give us another chance I'll be happy to have a look over your account and see what happened.  16 days does sounds a bit out but I'll need to have a closer look.

  • $600.00 Verizon bill for using SKYPE in China

Ok guys I'm ******...just got a $600.00 bill from verizon for using my Skype phone number in China. In the past, when I was out of the country, I gave everyone my Skype phone number, and if I was not on my computer,it would bounce to my cell phone. No use of verizon service or equipment(I own the phone) no charge from verizon. THIS trip verizon is charging me over $580.00 because I answered my Skype calls that used my Skype phone number which bounced to my cell...what the heck??!! I called customer service and they agreed to reduce the bill by $68.00??, but refused to rescind the charge. What should I do? How can they charge me when I did not use any of their equipment? Oh, I also specifically clicked my phone on "do not accept calls/data/text"   when I got to China, so nobody would accidentally call my cell #. Any ideas? (aside from dropping verizon service after 15 years on a 5 phone plan) which I am doing??'

Holy cow! That's not small pcket change, ellen22. I can definitely understand your shock getting the high bill. Were you using the Skype application on your phone to place & receive calls while you were in China? If you were, this application does require a data connection and may be the reason you ended up with such a high bill. Without the 100 MB Global Data Plan for $25, each MB used in China at a pay-as-you-go rate is $20.48. That can really add up if you aren't connected to WiFi!
If you were not using your Skype application, then you may have Skype set up to forward calls to your mobile number when you're not available at home. The caller would call your Skype number and Skype would call your mobile number when you're not around the computer, essentially creating a call to your mobile number. With the per minute rate in China being $1.99, those charges can really add up too in you're answering those forwarded calls.
We certainly don't want to lose you after all the fantastic years together. Please fill us in on more details how you were actually using your phone and Skype while traveling in China.
    Thank you

  • Use of action links in combination with hierarchy object in analysis

    Hi All,
From OBI 11g release hierarchy objects are available in the presentation layer of OBI. We make often use of these hierarchy objects. We also make use of action links to drill down to a analysis with more detailed information. This more detailed analysis should inherit the values of the higher-level analysis. In combination with the hierarchy objects this can give problems.
    An example:
Let's say we have the following atttributes:
Hierarchy object date (year, quarter, month), a product column and # of units shipped measure. On the column # of units shipped we have defined an action link to a more detailed analysis.
Now, let's say the user clicks on the year 2011 in the hierarchy object. The quarters for 2011 are shown. The 'normal' product column attributes contains 'Product A'. The user makes use of the action link that is available by clicking on the measure value of # of units shipped. He clicks on the value that is based on quarter 2 of 2011 and 'Product A'. The detailed analysis is set to filter the analysis on the product and date dimension. In this example the analysis is filtered on 'Product A' but not on the value Quarter 2, 2011. Hierarchy object values are not passed through on clicking on a action link.
Is there any workaround for this issue? We want to make use of the hierarchy object but users expect to also pass the hierarchy object value to the underlying detailed analysis

I am facing the same issue...
    First check it out:
    http://prasadmadhasi.com/2011/12/15/hierarchicalnavigationinobiee11g/
    http://www.rittmanmead.com/2010/10/oracle-bi-ee-11g-navigation-passing-parameters-using-hierarchical-columns/
I solved it by using Go URL link. I pass value of hierarchy level (whichever level it is). For Year it is 2012, month: 2012-03.
Now ugly part: in url I pass 2 parameters that refers to the same value : "Time"."Year"="2012", "Time"."Month"="2012"
In target report I apply filter: "Time"."Year" "Is Prompted" OR "Time"."Month" "Is Prompted"
This way in target report only one of filters will work : depending from which level you navigated from source report.
If you decide use this approach be carefoul with URL syntax, remember about double quotes etc. In my case it was:
    Parameter : value
    PortalGo : [LEAVE EMPTY]
    path : %2Fusers%2Fweblogic%2FMIS%20EVAL%2FT_Target
    options : dr
    Action : Navigate
    col1 : "Time"."Year"
val1 : [SELECT TIME HIERARCHY COLUMN]
    col2 : "Time"."Month"
val2 : [SELECT TIME HIERARCHY COLUMN]
    Remember to:
    Remove “=” after PortalGo
Surround value attribute with double quotes - e.g. @val1=”@{6}”
After you "adjust" your URL text manually (unfortunatelly it won't be done automatically) it should look like:
    http://10.10.10.100:7001/analytics/saw.dll?PortalGo@{1}&path=@{2}&options=@{3}&Action=@{4}&col1=@{5}&val1=”@{6}”&col2=@{7}&val2=”@{8}”

  • Highly unsatisfied customer- unable to get callback

I have been a verizon customer for 5 yrs. After my contract was up recently, and after receiving a promotion nearly everyday decided to call and renew contract. BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE. After a 3 hr long phone call, the rep was able to offer me a contract similar to a new customer less the prepaid visa. However, after i received the email confirmation, it did not include the promotions she said I would receive nor did it have the monthly price she told me my bill would be. I called back within 24 hours explained the situation and was told i would recoeve a callback from the retention department, but no one called. 2 days later, i called back and explained it to the rep who then told me that although the 1st rep who i renewed the contract told me i would have that price for the 2 years of my contract did not give me correct info and some of the discounts that she promised for 2 yrs would expire within 2 weeks. She transferred me to supervisor and after explaining everything to her she told me rep1 had misinformed me about the price as well as the promotion of 24 months of all the premium channels. In fact, the supervisor told me that even though i had the promo in my hand, that offer was in fact not available to new customers. I told her i entered into the agreement under false pretenses because i was promised a specific price and specific upgrades but she still tried to talk me into keeping a contract in which i didnt agree to. And that rep1 would possibly be reprimanded. After telling her i wanted to cancel several times she then told me that if i cancel contract i would be paying a much higher price because no contract no discounts. The new plan was with many fewer channels than i had previously but was at the same price i paid previously. So i told her i wanted to go back to my old plan and she then told me if i went to my old plan i would have to pay 40 more a month since i was grandfathered in at that price. I told her that i only changed it because i promised a certain price and entered the contract thinking i was getting more and if she didnt "misinform" me i wouldnt of changed anything. So now i am stuck paying the same price for a bundle with about 200 fewer channels all at the expense of rep1 "misinforming" me. So i have to suffer with a much higher bill than i thought i would have with less services!!! I asked to speak to someone else and she told me there is no one else i can speak to. Mind you this is all within 4 days of agreeing to a contract but not recieving what i agreed to and couldnt even go back to the position i was in previously even though it was the rep1 fault, who may or may not be reprimanded. So i am in a lose lose situation and wish i never even tried to renew my contract. All verizon customers beware, because you will be told a certain price and uprades but once ypu agree they say it was a mistake and we cant give that to you. On top of that, she claimed the promo i had in my hand was not being offered!!! Sounds to me like consumer fraud, bait and switch as well as false promotions. I have a question verizon, why send me a promotion Everyday that i cant take advantage of,only new customers can, but then tell me u value existing customers just as much? If i am entering a new 2 yr contract i should be able to subscribe to those promotions as well.
So after calling back numerous times and spending 12-15 hours on the phone and being told a supervisor would call me back, which none ever did, i am stuck with a higher bill and less services because of you rep. And i call and asked customer care several times who can i speak to about this situation . All customer care said was a supervisor will call you back. There has to be some type of dispute department to handle these situations but no one is giving me the contact information. One rep told me to contact the closed captioning department. Closed caption is for the words to be displayed on tv for hearing inpaired. I guess that was a punch in the face and implied that I cant hear. I can hear fine and i cant wait for the conversations to be reviewed!!!!
I would love to be somehow credited for all my trouble , time and stress caused by a rep 'misinforming' me!!!
Please verizon, feel free to contact me because I have not recieced a callback from anyone. I am always promised the world from you guys and nobody every follows thru.

  • No fault found so we are going to bill you £99 and...

Déjà vu yet again with BT.
For a while I had people telling me that they have been calling me several times but I have not been in.
I had been in but never heard the phone ring. I then get a call from my Brother on my mobile, he said "are you not at home?"
"Yes" I replied. He said he had been calling me but there was no answer. I asked him to call me again on the landline, which he did. The phone eventually rang which I answered. He said it had been ringing for 8 to 10 times before I answered it. I said I answered it staright away.
After ringing several times from different landlines to my landline and elliminating any internal equipment or wiring fault (I am an ex telephone engineer so know what I am doing) I called BT. The woman on the other end did a line test but that came back clear. I then asked her to ring me and count the amount of rings up to me answering. she did so and told me it had rang 6 times. We did it twice more and it ranged from 4 to 6 riings before ringing this end.
She asked what did I want to do about it. I said you need to fix it as people are hanging up before I the phone rings.
She promptly went through the process off booking an "Openreach" engineer to visit but promptly read off a script that if the engineer does not find a fault or the fault is located on my equipment or internal wiring, then I will be charged £99.
I said to them that I have no internal wiring, just the dropwire coming into a master socket which my broadband router and DECT phone plugs into. I have also swapped phones to prove the DECT phones are not causing any issues.
They just seemed to ignore what I just told them and then repeated that they will charge me £99 if the fault it in my internal wiring. I thought this was highly suspicious so I asked her to log on the system that they confirmed they called my number several times and it rang 4 to 6 times their end before it rang my end. She said she would, so at least I had record of the proof.
The next day the openreach engineer called me from the exchange and asked me what was wrong with the phone. I asked him what was his fault log with my number. He said I have no information, just a problem with your phone line.
I explained everything to him and he said he would reset the line card in the exchange then come visit me, which he did.
He tested the phone from his mobile and it rang straight away. I asked him ring it a few times which he did and again it rang straight away. I said to him, the fault was probably on the linecard as you had reset it, it probably has cleared the fault. He agreed, but also did his scrpited speel about charging me £99 for a no fault found. I said you had reset the line card and agreed it probably fixed the ringing delay. He said BT are trying to recover costs so are starting to charge customers for visits where no fault is found. He told me not to worry as I won't be charged, then left.
A few weeks later, I get an unusually high bill, apon inspecting it, I see a £99 charge. I immediately rang BT and they said it was for the call out. I said the engineer reset the lincard and fixed it? She said no, on screen it says, fault due to customers internal wiring. I said no way, I have no internal wiring. She said she would escalate this complaint and get back to me. 2/3 weeks later i get a call from BT saying the £99 charge still stands as the eningeer said the fault was in your wiring. I again told her I had NO internal wiring and to remove the charge. She said she could NOT waive the charge.
I am left with no alternative but to terminate my contract with BT for false accusation and gross incompetence.
Two earlier ongoing issues regarding my broadband and failing to port a number over when my Brother joined BT have still not been resolved, so what chances do I have with this?
BT I will be taking libel action against you. The lies are on record!
    LOOK NO INTERNAL WIRING!!!

    Hi apulmax,
My experience of the mods on this forum is that they are very good - yours is obviously different. However I agree 100% that the other support centres have a reputation of lying and not fixing much if anything.
I wish you the best of luck with the courts, but to be honest I don't think you have a leg to stand on. You can write on here whatever the engineer said to you, but all he has to do is deny saying it and then it's your word against him.
Also, in your last post you claim to have been having broadband problems for over 2 years, but your first post in these forums was in November 2012 and stated that you first reported the problem in July 2012 - only 8 or 9 months ago. Any good lawyer will highlight inconsistencies such as these so you need to make sure you have verifiable evidence of when you reported the problems, how you and/or BT went about trying to resolve them etc - hearsay from an engineer won't cut it.
If you do decide to leave BT and not pay the early cancellation fee, make sure that you send a written dispute of the charge to BT and discuss with them how this fee argument is to be resolved, otherwise they are in their right to put a black mark on your credit file. Telling them that you are going to take the matter to the courts IS an acceptable reason to stop the credit black mark but you then MUST either pay or go to court within a short time. If you lose the court action then the black mark again becomes valid.
I genuinely wish you the best of luck and I will be interested if you can post the results here, but I think you will need very deep pockets to take this approach.

  • Verizon loves to rip people off on their bills

Hi..I have been a verizon customer here and there and the only reason I switched to another company was because the bill was way cheaper and you get everything just like verizon. And the bill is only $59 for data plan and everything. Verizon charged me $130 for my monthly bill and I just cannot see paying $130 for a cell phone..That is pretty ridicuolus if you ask me. So I went back to the basic phone, where I just got talk and text and my bill this month was $101..Just for the BASIC phone. So Yes I think they need to lower their costs for bills before these other companies run them out of business because they rip people off. And I about fed up with paying these high bills just for a basic cell phone. Any of you experienced this? Please let me know, so I am not the only who is feeling this way. grrr

I guess I am curious as to what plan you currently have with Verizon.
Verizon has a pre-paid plan for basic phones which includes unlimited talk, text AND data for $50/month. That $59/month bill DOES NOT seem way cheaper than this plan.
If you want a post paid plan, you can get a Share Everything plan for basic phones which start at $70/month with unlimited talk and text and 300MB of data/month.
Of course, taxes would be additional.
It seems to me you need to re-evaluate which plan you need with Verizon.
