High demand for resources after installing v.8.0.1. Seems more noticeable on news websites.

Running Windows XP on a Dell Optiplex SX280, high demand for resources that I think began after updating to v.8.0.1. Going to firefox safe mode w/add-ons disabled seemed to help initially, but not now. Seems more noticeable on news websites like fox.com. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I'm going to back up to Firefox 7 next. I'm getting the drift that 8.0.1 and/or flash on 8.0.1 are unstable.
I'll let you know if that solves this problem.

I have a skype in number, which today is not working and loosing me business. When anyone calls my skype number they get a message "Sorry there is currently a high demand for this destination please try later"
I am getting this at least 2 days a month at the moment.
What is going on? After using Skype for 3 years now, I must say it is bug ridden, and not fit for purpose.

I suggest you do one of two things:
1. Upgrade to Office 2011 for OS X.
2. Try the freeware, Libre Office.

Usually that error can be cleared up by renaming the personal config folder. Turn on your OS's hidden files and then go to...
C: > Users > your username > AppData > Roaming > Dreamweaver (version) > your language > configuration
Rename the configuration folder configuration-old and start DW up. That should create an entirely new configuration folder and correct the menu.xml file.

App store will not accept my Apple ID for updates after installing Mavericks?

I have recently installed Mavericks on my Macbook Pro. After installing it the two new updates for iPhoto and iMovie popped up. I click on the 'update' icon and I am prompted for my Apple ID as usual. After entering the correct ID the prompt disappears as if correct, but then re-appears asking for the password again. The prompt does not actually say that the wrong Apple ID or password has been entered. The updates do not install and the prompt remains. I know I have the right ID because I can install other apps using the same ID. I definitley have the right Apple ID. Now I cannot open iPhoto because it says that the application is not compatible with the OS! Has anyone got any tips on how to install these new updates and get around this error? Any help would be appreciated.

Following the info from support I enrolled into something called Mac Up to Date program, then you give them your serial number, invoice, etc... and then they seem to review the information and decide whether you qualify or not. I am still waiting for the answer, but I seem to be eligible (bought my new iMac on the 2nd of October and a few days after it was announced that all new Macs would receive iWork for free, so I guess my computer qualifies as 'new' - it is a late 2013 model after all).
But right now all iWork apps still appear to me as paid apps on the Mac App Store. It would be much easier if they appeared as free apps right away, but it seems the Mac App Store is a bit temperamental. And then there is the problem with the iMovie and iPhoto updates, which some of us are unable to get and that it is not even generally acknowledged by the support staff.
All these issues with the App Store are surprising for a company that takes pride in making things 'easy'

How to trigger approval request for resources after assigning role

Hi,
We have a use case where we need to assign resources to user via assigning roles.
In order to achive this use case
1. we have created a role and assigned the access policy to it which contain the resources to be provisioned once the role is assigned to the user.
2. Created a SOA composite having manager approval and assigned this composite to a approval policy of type 'Assign Role'.
3. I am already having the approval policy for the resources which are present in roles. The approval policy of resources is of type "Provision Resource".
4. Also the SOA composite for resource apporal is deployed in OIM and assigned to the approval policy.
5. Now when I am raising the request from OIM of type "Assign Role" the approval defined in the SOA composite for Role approval gets triggered. After approving the role request the role is assigned to the user and also the resources defined in the access policy gets provisioned to teh user account.
Now I want to trigger the resource approval process after the role approval instead of directly provisioning the resources. So that once the role is approved the individual Approval Process of resources part of roles should also gets invoked. Based on the approval or rejection of resources approval, the resource gets assigned to the user.
Please let me know how to achieve the above use case.

Access policy is saying whoever gets xyz role, will get this abc resource. Now once a user gets xyz role, you are stopping to get abc resource? both are contradictory. Don't go through access policy. User is anyway going to request for roles. Modify your flow and make user request for resource. Have your composite and approval policy attached. User will get resource once it is approved.

Fix to missing/non working driver for webcam after installing new OS

Webcam doesn't work on your lenovo 3000 laptop?
I ran into this problem after reeinstalling XP on my machine. MSN tells you that other apps are using the cam, the driver seems messed up. Since I have seen several unresolved posts referring to this I figured I would post how to fix it here.
If you read somewhere else to go download the driver from sonyx, this will not fix your problem.
Instead, go into control panel, add hardware, tell it the hardware is already connected and it will show you all the devices that are connected to your pc, including the cam. Have it install the cam automatically. You've probably gotten this far already.
Now what you need to do is repeat this step for all the "Standard PCI to USB host controllers" that you see listed that are not yet installed.

Backup was done by blackberry ID of previous owner, after installing i chahged previus owner ID to my new ID, but now i don't have access to previous owner ID.
Now there is an error - ID of back up doesn't suit new blackberry ID.
I tried to use BlackBerry Backup Extractor to remove date to computer, then copy to the phone. But there is now BlackBerry Backup Extractor which works with Z10......
Maybe you know some prog which can help me restore data to computer? Then would be able to copy data to the phone.

Endless 'searching for drivers' after installing 10.5

Cannot print after installing 10.5.1 on my g4 MacBook. It 'sees' the printer, but it cant bring up the driver. I have tried a Canon PM500 and an HP 2400, connected to USB port and to my Airport base station, I have done the special installation from the disk for both Canon and HP, I have 'reset printing system', I have downloaded drivers from Canon website. I reinstalled (regular) 10.5 on the G4 MacBook.They all say installation successful, and the printer is recognized in the printer chooser, but then the spiral turns endless looking for driver. The printing to the same printer from my MacBookPro (intel) and a G4 macbook with 10.4 works fine.
Any suggestions?

Another postee with the same problem found that when the spinning ball appeared, the cause was an Epson utility running in the background. He knew this wasn't right because he didn't have an Epson printer. He found that by deleting the entire contents of the Printers folder (./Library/Printers) and reinstalling the Canon driver he downloaded from the web, he was able to add the printer without the delay.

Why Do I get 0h hours for resources after using Resource Levelling in Project 2010?

We are using MSProject 2010 and Project Server 2010 with Enterprise resources. All resources on all projects in the enterprise are shared resources. We are finding that after resource levelling is applied to the project some resources are only
being assigned a fraction of their total availability, and in some cases Project will assign 0 hours to a resource for several consecutive weeks even though the resource has capacity for the week the task is scheduled to start.
For example: Let's say we have a task that is scheduled to start on 1-20-14. The task is a 112 hours of effort with no constraints and one resource assigned to it. The resource is available 40 hours per week for the next 4 weeks. After resource
levelling I would expect Project to assign the resource as follows: 40 hours in week 1, 40 hours the next week and 32 hours the next week, for a total of 112 hours. Instead, Project does not assign the resource to the task until week 4 (even
though the resource has capacity on the start date of the task) and pushes the finish date out. In some weeks the resource has 0h hours showing in the timephased grid on the Resource Usage sheet. We have experimented with the levelling settings and it
does not seem to matter which boxes are checked, but following is our preferred settings:
1. Levelling Calculations set to Manual
2. Look for overallocations on a day by day basis
3. Clear levelling values before levelling is CHECKED
4. Level entire project is selected.
5. Levelling order is Priority,Standard
6. Level only within available slack is CHECKED
7. Levelling can adjust individual assignments on a task is CHECKED
8. Levelling can create splits in remaining work is UNCHECKED
9. Level resources with the proposed booking type is UNCHECKED
10. Level manually scheduled tasks is CHECKED.
Does anyone have any ideas about why Project is not using the resource's available capacity?

Thanks to give us more detail. But actually if you need to level a resource, it means that this resource is overallocated. In your example, since it is not overallocated on the 12weeks task you mention, it means that it should be assigned on another task.
If not, there would be no need to perform any resource levelling.
Concerning the fact that levelling assign resource at 0hr per week, this can be absolutely normal.
Imagine that you have a resource working at 100% on 2 tasks on the same period. imagine also that there is actual work on one of the 2 tasks. Project will level the resource, meaning that it will move ahead the remaining work of one of the task (depending
on the levelling parameters). But the actual work will not move, thus between the actual work and the moved-foreward remaining work, the resource will be assign at 0hr by time period on the splitted task.
Please check all the task of the levelled resource and actual work.

i tried to reinstall the Leopard and itunes, is still the same, please help.

Can you launch iTunes from the Applications folder?
If it won't launch from the Applicaitons folder, run Disk Utility to rule out any problems with the startup disk.
Launch Disk Utility /Applications/Utilities
Select the startup disk in the panel on the left then select the First Aid tab.
Click: Verify Disk (not Verify Disk Permissions)
Boot from your install disc to make any necessary repairs.

I installed Dreamweaver from the Creative Cloud, it shows in control panel, but I cannot get the app to show in the screen (not a touch screen machine), and there is no start button. O now have a serial number, I just need to get the the program to work as a program.

Hi. I have recently installed Windows 7 on my mac pro (from ultimo 2012). I've used boot camp for the installation. However it did not install the driver for my network. How can I get the driver??

I performed all the windows xp updates when I installed xp.
Our computer has labview 6.0 and 6.1 on it. I thought maybe they were causing a problem, so I tried uninstalling them. I downloaded msiblast and tried to remove Labview 6.0 and 6.1, but since they used to be on a network, and the university does not carry those programs anymore, they gave me errors. I was able to uninstall 7.0 and reinstall it, but it still gave me the same error as described in the original post.
I went into the registry and removed 6.0 and 6.1, but it still gives me the same error.
I need a way of removing 6.0 and 6.1 so that I can do a clean install of 7.0.
