Home Hub 3 Gigabit Port/Ethernet 4 Not Working

Just before christmas time the gigabit ethernet port on my home hub 3 stopped working.
I tried other cables and there is no connection whatsoever between the gigabit port and other devices, but the other three ethernet ports work fine?
I had it so a cable went from the gigabit port to a gigabit switch which then distributes around the house.
Obviously i'm now using the standard 10/100 ports on the home hub 3 which is fine as the only wireless devices (which would go through the gigabit to the home server) is a laptop.
I was just wondering what would cause this single port to stop working, and if there is a possible fix or if i need to get a replacement hub?
Cheers.

Try a factory reset of the home hub 3, and if it still does not work, all you can do is ring the helpdesk, and ask for a replacement.

Hi, the iPhone 4S keeps disconnecting from the HH3 when normal web browsing or streaming media on an iPhone 4S, using apps YouTube and Twitch.TV. Other symptoms is the WiFi icon flashing off and on very quickly.
This happens on 802.11n and I changed to 802.11b/g which seems to solve this. Now that Home Hub 5 is out, it looks like we are 2 versions behind?
    Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.94.1.11 (Type A)

By using channel 5 you are overlapping with two other channels that are used by wireless routers so you could be actually making things worse. Channel 12 is better but still overlaps with 1 channel. You should look for the least congested channel on either 1,6 or 11 which are the only channels that do not overlap with other routers.

    Hi,
The both mentioned virtual systems are in different LPAR's (Physical host).
Already I have checked the /etc/services and looks every thing is fine in the file. I have also checked the file inetd.conf  and I didn't find any thing # on the Telnet. It seems every thing is fine in the both files.
Can you please look in to it and provide some thing which I have to look in the OS level.

I have installed the agent 10 or 15 times and one installation has failed, no error appeared during the installation but I am having inconsistent issues with my ethernet card not working here and there. We rebooted and can log into Novell client but the login prompt did not appear for ESM client or the icon was not in the systray. Everything seems to work, besides at times (a couple times today) it terminates his ethernet card/connection. I would re-image his computer but he has several applications and it would take several hours, so I am hoping someone has an idea to fix this issue. So I was trying to figure out why he did not get the prompt to login and why it's not in the systray and it appears to not have completed the install? I checked the add/remove programs, its not listed within their, I also checked the registry and found nothing for endpoint within their, but the files are within c:\program files\novell\zenworks endpoint security.
I have also tried uninstalling it but that fails due to it "not being installed", and it will not reinstall over itself either.
I did notice that stuninstdrv.exe is running in task manager. Any help would be great...

If you are searching the registry, check for the "Senforce" string. It should be at HKLM\Software\Senforce
Try running the install program for the ZSC with the following command line:
    setup.exe /V"STUNINSTALL=1"
If you've specified an uninstall password, try this one instead:
setup.exe /V"STUNINSTALL=1 STUIP=password"" (please note the double quote at the end)
Let me know if that helped you.

  • The home button on my iphone 5 is not working.

The home button on my iphone 5 is not working, so I'm using assistive touch.  How do I close open apps without double tapping the home button?

The other possible things you can try would include...
Inserting the lightning connector and applying a little bit of pressure up under the Home button.
Some folks have cleaned the Home button with a few drops of isopropic alochol caring to not get it on your screen.  This is only going to get things working again if it has been gummed up through normal use
If you are still within the one-year warranty or extended it with Apple Care don't try any of these steps just take it to Apple.

  • WiFi or Ethernet do not work!

I Have a Macbook and the Wi Fi or Ethernet will not work. I renew DHCP lease and the internet works for 10 seconds than I have to renew it again. I have 2 more Macs and they work fine. I have two routers and this computer has the same problem with both. Is there a way to solve this?
I have notice that a lot of people have had this problem has anyone resolved this issue.
So far this is what I have tryed:
Macintosh> Library> Preferences> SystemConfiguration  (deleting all documents in this last folder).
    -reseting router
    -Macbook Software update
-Flush DNS cache using Terminal (dscacheutil -flushcache)
-holding Command+Option+P+R during restart until hearing another chime
    -airport on/off
-removed airport and added again from Network Preferences
-Network>Advanced (deleted Preferred Networks and also from Keychains)

I had to convert the official ISO before it would boot happily as a USB on my used Air I've just got, I followed the instructions at https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/UE … B_from_ISO including the suggestion below to use rEFInd instead of gummiboot and it worked for me.

  • Disable port monitoring task not working

    Hi,
On SCOM 2012 SP1 the task "disable port monitoring" is not working. When I run it shows a success message but the port\interface keeps to be monitored on scom, the ports that I'm trying to disable the monitoring are members of the Relay Network
Adapters Group. Is there any way to fix this task or manually stop the monitoring of the port\interface ?

    Hi Carlos,
By coincidence I ran into the same problem today.
It can be disabled by creating an override where you target the specific port object and set the parameter enabled=false.
I am not 100% sure this is the correct way but it works. I am assuming the disable port does something similar but I have to open up the task to confirm this.
For now I hope this helps.

  • Home hub 3 keeps disconnecting ethernet device

I have a home hub 3 and a iomega home media network hard drive which is connected via one of the ethernet ports on the home hub. On my old Home hub the device connected fine however on my new home hub 3 it connected at first for a day and then disconnected and will not connect again. I menetioned this to the infinity engineer who surgetested I could have one of the older Hubs or it had faulty ethernet ports. I have tryed chaning the ethernet port, but when I look at the advanced settings of the hub and look at connected devices it reports not connected for the Iomega drive. How do I log a fault call to get a replacement hub, or can I force a firmware update. mine has version V100R001C01B031SP09_L_B.
Please tell me how I can log this online so I do not have to ring India again!

No problem about the delay in replying, as you put my name in the text of you message, I got an automatic alert
Yes, the problem with the Ethernet ports is in this thread.
    http://community.bt.com/t5/BB-Speed-Connection-Issues/HomeHub-3-LAN-speeds-only-10Mb/m-p/238589/high...
The long term answer would be to connect your own Ethernet switch to the GigE port, and not to use the other ports.
I am not sure if the HH3 issue will be solved, as I suspect its a hardware design issue.

  • Thunderbolt to Gigabit ethernet does not work anymore.

I had purchased a Thunderbolt to Gigabit ethernet a few months back and has been working fine. Recently in my Network Preference it is not recognized anymore. I removed it hoping it would pickup and nothing. I switched ports and nothing. I tried my adapter on another MacBook Pro and it worked fine. I tried a new TB to Gigabit ethernet adapter and still did not work. Thinking something maybe wrong with my ports I tried a Thunderbolt to DVI adapter and works fine.

This is a late reply, but I had this same question and found the answer here:
    http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/70931/how-to-force-thunderbolt-ethernet -connection-when-switching-networks-without-res
To me, it was a network reconfiguration problem, I simply went to System Preferences --> Network --> Assist Me, had it reconfigure my connections, and now my Thunderbolt-to-Gigabit-Ethernet adaptor works fine.

  • PRESTO GIGABIT PRO Ethernet Card not detected in Mac OS 10.5.8

    Hello,
I am an IT Technician who is troubleshooting an issue with the network card on a PowerMac G5 tower. I have installed the PRESTO GIGABIT PRO Ethernet card (which states that it is compatible with Power Mac G5 (with PCI or PCI-x slots). After I install it, and plug an ethernet cable into the ethernet port on the card, it appears as if it is getting network activity since the LED lights begin to blink on the card. However, when I boot the G5 with Leopard 10.5.8, it does not see the network card in the system profiler under PCI cards. The only PCI card detected is a Broadcom 5702 in PCI slot 3. I have tried seating the card in different PCI slots but I still get the same result. Do you all have any ideas what may be causing this issue and a possible remedy for it? Thanks for any assistance that you can provide.

Hi Bruce, and a warm welcome to the forums!
I can't find the PCI card, just the PCIe card...
    http://www.sonnettech.com/support/kb/kb.php?cat=164&expand=a3_a2b405&action=b490#b490
    http://www.amazon.com/Presto-Gigabit-Ethernet-PCIe-Card/dp/B0017K6BR8
But on a hunch, System Preferences>Network, unlock the Lock if need be, see if you get New Port Detected, or click the little + icon and see if you can add Ethernet.
If it works & that is the Interface used for Internet, click on the little Gear icon>Set Service Order, drag Ethernet to the top.

  • Hub 3a Gigabit port

    Hi all,
BT Infinity users since July 11, HH3a - no real issues to report until now.
Is it a known issue for the Gigabit port to keep falling over to 100M or perhaps even 10M !! I don't know if the 10/100 Ports are okay as they're not used in anger every day.
It's happening more and more now - thought is was my Gigabit switch but the replacement of the Hub 3 with a Linksys product proves reliable - but I have other issues with the Linksys product, which means I'd prefer to get the HH3 working.
Anyone got any advice for a newbie ?
    TIA

    Yes, wait.
It's a known issue with certain hub3a's though BT have been unable to replicate this on their own test hubs.
(from a conversation with a BT employee) - BT have issued some hub3a's to a select few and these customers are testing a new hub firmware to hopefully resolve this. I'm not permitted to say what the firmware version will be, but I have also had confirmation of the firmware version from another source.

  • USB ethernet does not work in left USB port

My USB ethernet adapter does not work in the left USB port on my MacBook Air, but it works in the right side. Other devices, like my mouse, work fine in both ports.
Could I have a faulty left-side port with too little power for the ethernet adapter, or is this normal for MacBook Air?

    I have the same problem.
USB Ethernet doesn't work with the left USB port. It does work with the right USB port, and any other USB device works with the left USB port on my macbook air
