Homepage picture slideshow!!

Hi there,
I am new to web design, dreamweaver, css etc. I am building my first site and I will like to create a picture slideshow on the homepage. Please can someone tell a free tool that I can use which would adjust to meet the size of the pictures so that I can put pictures of different sizes in the slideshow.. similar to this www.hok.com. Please dont recommend adobe flash player, i have no clue about flash. Thanks.

Best software for website picture slideshow

Please excuse my ignorance here, as I'm quite beginning my foray into Adobe...
My question is (I think) a very easy one- I'm trying to create a simple 5-6 picture "slideshow" that I can embed into a website... I'm not looking for anything fancy at all, just 5-6 pictures that fade into each other and play automatically; the kind of thing you see all the time on websites. I've tried using the Adobe Bridge Web Gallery feature, but I'm not interested in displaying any "controls (i.e. the end user's ability to pause/play/fast forward images).
I'm assuming that the program I'm looking for is either dreamweaver or photoshop (I'm hoping photoshop as I'm pretty green and not code-literate)...
Any guidance would be very much appreciated.

Try Adobe Edge Animate. It can generate a HTML/CSS/JavaScript animated web page. it is included with the CC subscription for free.

Picture Slideshow Freezes Up & When Trying To Skip Ahead, Menu Icon Appears

So, I am viewing a picture slideshow and at one point into the slideshow (not always the same picture), the slideshow stops and it freezes on one picture. Then, when I try to advance to the following photo by pressing the fast forward button, an odd Menu Icon appears for about 1 or 2 seconds. The icon then goes away and nothing else happens. The picture never advances.
I took two photos to show what this oddity looks like:
What is this, why is it happening? Is my iPod malfunctioning? Should I bring it back to the store? (This problem has occured more than once.)
(For those wondering, the photo is of a volcano dumping hot lava into the ocean and forming new land, in Hawaii.)

That is Normal it is when the photos finish the photo slide show will stop on the last picture and when you try to fast forward the menu thing will apear its just normal

How to: Add Conistent Overlay/Text On Top of Picture Slideshow

Hello everyone - am fairly new to Keynote. I'm sure there is an easy way to do this just not sure how ...
I am putting together a picture slideshow as part of a presentation I am doing ... have a lot of pictures to cycle through ... maybe 100 ... anyhow, it is very easy to add all the pictures by dragging and dropping them and also to change all the transitions and timing at once ... it is a cinch!
However, I am struggling with a way to overlay a title/text on top of ALL the images (same logo/text for all of them). I have played around with creating my own "Master Slide" that has the text I want to display, however, the image always covers/blocks the text ... I noticed that I can enable something like "allow master slide to interact with the layers of the other slide material", however, I have to manually click each picture and "Send to the Back" in order to see my text/logo. This is a pain!
Is there an easier way to do this ?

In my experience, if you use a text box on a master and it's set to be a placeholder (or it's the actual Body box of the slide), then you put a media placeholder (photo placeholder) on the master slide, while the master will NOT let you put the text in front of the placeholder, on any actual slides that you make that use that master, the text shows up in FRONT of the placeholder. I put a placeholder on a slide and wanted it behind the bullets. It doesn't look that way on the master, but when you make a slide from it, sure enough, the photo is behind the bullet box.

Video + Picture slideshow DVD & Subtitle issues

Hello All,
I am making this family video and slideshow DVD to distribute among the family members. I know how to make video DVD out of shot footage but I am struggling hard to make such hybrid DVD where I can put video footage as well picture slideshow.
I checked out slideshow function in iDVD but it only allows pictures in one folder and I have multiple folders of pictures and I would like to be able to switch between these folders when I watch this slideshow on DVD player.
I tried to make iPhoto albums but there I couldn't make subfolders so I got stuck there and can't try importing from iPhoto5.
Anybody has idea how I can do this?
Also, I would like to add subtitles to movie as well as pictures. Any comment on subtitles is also welcome.

I understand Your questions but can't figure out a way to do exactly as You
want it to be done. I would instead make my SlidShows as movies in iMovie
and combine them into one iDVD disk. This is fairly simle and the quality is
much a personal issue. It's OK for me.
When I've done my movies (as individual iMovie projects) I drop the project
icons into an open iDVD theme (just inside the edge of the theme window).
Then rename them in the theme window and adjust the titles location so that
it looks nice. If You want You can also add a folder for Your photos (to be
used by Your family in their computers).

i am already using the Picture hub live tile for my picture slideshow, its wonderful.
But its limited to only on picture slideshow live tile. I need another live tile for my family friends photos to be displayed seperately.
Any Solution?

Thank you for your post and welcome to the forums!
If you want to pin a new album on your start screen, go to pictures > albums, tap and hold the the album and select pin to start. Unfortunately the tile will be half of the picture hub size, and at the moment it it not possible to change the tile size.

Is a one picture slideshow possible?

Hi everybody, I was wondering if it was possible to create a one picture slideshow in the slideshow window of lightroom 3. I want to have a title screen come up first and then fade out to the one picture that I want to have in my slideshow. And I was wondering if it was possible to have that one slide/picture stay there and not repeat or anything until the music on the slideshow ends. Thanks.

Not quite the way you want to do it. You'd need to make a whole bunch of virtual copies of the one image, and then make a slideshow from them. How many depends on the song. You'd need at least 3 per minute if you want to use 'Fit to Music'. Use the 'Intro Screen' option to introduce the image.

Duel Layer Picture Slideshow

Hey,
I'm trying to make a high quality picture slideshow with duel layers...so a background behind the important images to make it look more professional (rather than a simple black background).
I know iMovie HD 6 has some premade "themes" where I just input the pictures into already made backgrounds sequences. Are there any other programs out there that do the same / something similar? I'm not happy with the way iMovie deteriorates the quality of the images and I want to also have more variety to choose from for the backgrounds.
Or are there any plug-ins for FCP that might work?

Final Cut Pro X - How do you display filenames in picture slideshow?

I am trying to create a slideshow with about 400 pictures and would like the filenames to be displayed to help identify the individual etc.
These include old pictures that were scanned etc.
is there a plugin available or some hidden submenu that will allow you to apply to all pics in the slideshow?

I don't think there is as I too would like that capability.
A few years ago I made a compromise by numbering every photo automatically using Piero Fiorani's free Counter Display plugin.
I then printed several sheets of A4 with the numbers and details of all the photos. So anyone viewing the slides coul pause, note the number and read the info off the sheets.
It only works as long as all the slides have the same duration.

i have several pages of pictures on my iWeb site. on most of the pages ("captured" "europe circa 2002" "the empire state") the pictures and slideshows display normally. On one page ("the happiest place on earth")however the slideshow features gives an error message. The pictures display fine on the page itself but an error occurs when i click on the thumbnails for a bigger view. i get the same error message when i try to launch the slideshow in the galleries within the "happiest place on earth" gallery.
ive tried to "publish all" to solve the problem but that didnt work.

I'm thinking that it might have something to do with your naming scheme for your photo pages. I notice that you have named all of your photo pages with smart quotes around them, and I'm wondering if this might be part of the problem. I know that apostrophes in the page names can cause the slideshows to not function.
Of course, the rest of your photo pages are named similarly as well, with the smart quotes. At least give this a try...either take the quotes off the non-functioning pages or disable the smart-quote function in the iWeb preferences panel (this will disable the smart quotes for your entire site and leave regular quotation marks).
But your slideshows are uploaded just fine. I think the javascript that launches the slideshow function is confused by all the punctuation...

If you wanted to, you could just replace the "Start Slideshow" hyperlink with the ones above...(you'd have to copy and paste the icon graphic and attach the hyperlink yourself). But if I were you, I'd figure out what is causing this and try to fix it so that iWeb can keep doing the work for you.

Picture Slideshows working with arrows

I am pretty new to muse, and I am loving it!
Is there a way to make the pictures on the slideshows work with the keyboard left and right arrows to go to next, or previous?
This would be a very big deal to me.

Imovie 3 picture slideshow with audio

I have very little experience with imovie and I cant figure this out. I have 93 pictures I want to put in a slideshow with effects. I have a song (MP3) that is 3 minutes and 29 seconds. How do I get my slideshow to run for just that amount of time displaying each picture for the same amount of time. I thought It would be easy but I cant figure it out. please help.

3 minutes 39 seconds = 209 seconds.
209/93 pictures = 2.247312 seconds per picture.
That's about 2.25 seconds.
Converted to the seconds:frames format used by iMovie, that's
2 seconds, plus (30 frames per second * .25) or 7.5 frames.
So set the Ken Burns duration slider to 02:07 or thereabouts.
Adjust as necessary for any dead air and titles at the start/finish.
Note that iMovie lets you select ALL the images and adjust all at the same time.
(Use 25 frames per second if you reside in a part of the world that uses PAL instead of NTSC.)

Making a picture slideshow to watch on my dvd..need some help please =)

I'm trying to gather pictures and make a simple slideshow with just one menu. Where as I would put the the dvd in the dvd player, a menu will come up, I press play, and then the dvd slideshow starts to play. I'm only putting a few pictures that would fit with one song. I've tried so many times creating a new project and the Magic idvd option. Somehow I get lost when it comes to the Drop zones. It would say there are 2 menus. I've searched the internet and I can't seem to still understand! So confused!! I hope someone can give me some direction!! Thanks!!
