Horizontal Plan question

Hello,
I have a question regarding the behavior of the horizontal plan. I'm new to the ASCP module.
I have current scheduled receipts let say a Purchase order of qty 20. If i drill down on it, there is
an action of Reschedule Out but the "For Release" and "Firm" are still unchecked. So this scheduled
receipts becomes part of the Projected On Hand for today. The same PO quantity appears under day bucket
on which the suggested due date falls. Isn't this an overstatement?
thanks.
gregg

09-aug-10 | ....|...............................
Current
Scheduled
Receipts 20 (action is Rescheduled out
w/ future date like 02-FEB-11)
Proj
OnHand 20
02-FEB-11|...
PO 20 (drilling down the same po that are shown under sched receipts)
It looks like this, there is a duplication the current schedule receipts are counted in the projected on hand, etc
and then the rescheduled PO is counted once again.

Also if we want to display a column UOM from purchase agreement next to item name and description in horizontal plan (workbench navigation pane) ,how can we achieve that functionality?
Thanks for your inputs,

Can any one please let me know the answer to the above question, as i have the same requirement, adding UOM column in the horizontal plan form in "Advance supply chain planner " responsibility

• Safety Stock field/table in ASCP Horizontal Plan?

Hello,
I need to get the safety stock data that is seen from the ASCP's Horizontal Plan. Whiat table and field is it? Can't find it from MSC_DEMANDS and MSC_SUPPLIES. Thanks

Hello,
in an ASCP plan safety stock results/output is always populated in MSC_SAFTEY_STOCKS and not in MSC_DEMANDS.
MSC_DEMANDS is populated for SS only in IO Plans
safety stock demands can be seen in msc_demands with origination_type = 31

• Horizontal Plan Suggestions and Calculations

Hi,
I am facing an issue in understanding the ASCP Horizontal Plan calculations for EBS ver 12.1.3.
I have made 1 FG Item, 1 RM Item and BOM of FG with component requirement 1 for 1 FG Item. Entered the Forecast of FG = 100 bucket type days.
Made 1 resource allocated to single department and on routing available 24 Hrs without shifts with usage 1 and assigned units 1. Means 24 units can be made in 24 hrs.
Now when i am launching the Resource constraint plan with no supplier constraint and wit no lead times option, the planner work bench is suggesting me batches with quantity 22 for 3 days and 21 for 1 day than 13 for 1 day. In horizontal plan the available hours are 24 but required hours shown are 22.
Can any one tell me on what basis the suggested Qty for Job is 22 or 21 though the available resource hours are 24. I am also perplexed in understanding the calculations of Horizontal Plan for the following Available Hours, Required Hours, Net Hours Available, Capacity Load Ratio for current day and for the proceeding days.
Also the Suggested Dates and Times shown are confusing.
Thanks in Advance

• Perspective Grid: switch orientation on horizontal plane

I have a tall rectangle I want to place on the horizontal plane of the perspective grid.
Clicking that plane in the widget, or slecting the rectangle and hitting 2, results in the rectangle oriented towards the right vanishing point (or 2:00). I need it to point the other way, toward the left vanishing point (to 10:00).
Is there some way to force an object to do that?
Thanks for any help or thoughts on this.

Well, that's just really annoying. I spent 99 minutes and 31 seconds on the phone with tech support trying to get an answer to this with nothing to show for it.
Thank you, Monika.

Which table and column stores the projected available balance details of ASCP horizontal plan
Details:
I can see the PAB (projected available balance) for a item in Horizontal plan in ASCP. which table and column stores this data.

Hi
Are you asking about start date (for each bucket ?) . Tools work dates>period start dates will give you that.
If its for the whole HP it will be system date-1 always.
Can you please elaborate on you qn ?

• How to get vertical rather than horizontal plan?

Hi
Witha complex site layout plan it would be easier for me if child pages were shown in a vertical rather than a horizontal array.
The horizontal array makes for much scrolling across the screen and seems to use too much visual real estate.
How can this be changed?
Also is there no way to show notes alongside each page in the plan?
Thanks in advance
David

Hi
Usually staff answers are thoughtful and helpful - on this occasion I find the response to be rather simplistic and narrow minded.
1. There is no logical reason why a website could not be built irrespective of the way the planning mode controls it screen layout. After all that is what computers are really good at - separating logic from view. The only thing needed is a view modifier and I am really surprised that anyone would state with such confidence: "It can't hence, be changed in the plan mode"
2. When each sibling can be presented in a vertical rather than a horizontal plane it would facilitate visualisation, especially for complex sites,
3. No thought in the program design seems to have been given to the benefits which could arise from vertical presentation for printing purposes. We also need to be able to print siblings and the ability to be able to print out the site plan in vertical segments by sibling would be an invaluable planning tool.
4. No response has been made to the need to be able to attach notes (maybe using a "notes" layer?
Come - lets have a more thoughtful response. Like all software Muse is a work in progress and that, IMHO, is very true of Muse,. This program has a lot of potential but much needs to be done to approach a level of maturity that harmonises with other Adobe products. The absence of an inbuilt database management facilities is only one of many striking omissions which signal insufficient commitment and determination to fulfill that potential within a reasonable time frame.

• Period O in Horizontal Plan

Hello..
We have set our bucket types to be all periods, days=0, weeks=0, periods=18.
When pulling up a horizontal plan in ASCP, the first bucket is Period 0.. What is the purpose of Period 0, then following is the current date Period 1.. not all the information is listed in either one.
The Period 0 has the forecast entries but not the beginning on hand while Period 1 does not have the forecast and has the beginning on hand.
Please provide some insight on this .
Thanks,
Nadi

Nadi,
Period 0 is past due and will show past due forecast, sales orders, and supplies.
On hand inventory is always available today, so it is displayed in period 1.

• ASCP Horizontal Plan - Snapshot data

Hi All,
We're planning to generate report based on Rolling Gross requirements as per (snapshot data on ASCP workbench).
The Rolling Gross Requirements need to be shown for 12 weeks or 12 months as part of report.
This is very challenging requirement, Can you please help me find (Any data points) how Oracle is currently retrieving snapshot dara for horizontal plan?
We need to display (gross requirements) report data for 12 weeks (bucket) and 12 months (buckets) by each demand (Beginning on hand, purchase orders, requisitions, In Transit, In Receiving).
I've reviewed package (MSC_HORIZONTAL_PLAN_SC) but It doesn't help me much in (understanding/getting) snapshot data.
In MSC_HORIZONTAL_PLAN_SC package, there is a cursor (MRP_SNAPSHOT_ACTIVITY).
The snapshot can be viewed on ASCP workbench in R12.1.3 with following steps
1. Advanced Supply Chain Planner (ASCP) super user Responsibility
2. Nav: Supply Chain Plan -> Workbench
3. Select a Plan
4. Go to Supply/Demand
5. Select a record (Criteria:Supplier; Condition: equals ; From: <Supplier_Name>) and click Find button
6. Right-click -> Horizontal Plan
7. For each item, Rows shows [sales orders, Forecast, Dependent demand, Gross Requirements, Work orders, Purchase orders] and columns show [weekly and daily dates]
Appreciate your help, Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Kal

Hi,
Are you having trouble in arranging a weekly/monthly pattern or having problem with Data.
Weekly/Monthly pattern is possible to create.

No, but possibly Premiere Elements would be. I don't use that so can't say. You should ask in the PRE forum, which is where the video mavens hang out:

• Explain Plan Questions

Hi All,
Q1. Performance wise are the following queries both same.
Which one will yield a better throughput and why?
Approach 1
SELECT
e.desig "Emp Desig",
(select count(1) from emp where empid = e.empid and dt_created between sysdate and sysdate -1) "Emp added since yday",
(select count(1) from emp where empid = e.empid and case_solved_count > 10 ) "Emp with case solved counts > 10",
FROM EMP e
Approach 2
SELECT
e.desig "Emp Desig",
Func1(e.empid ),
Func2(e.empid )
FROM emp e
Q2. If we have three tables T1, T2 and T3 with following record counts - Will their sequence of placement in WHERE clause of the query affect performance? (My understanding is it should not)
Table Record Count
T1 5000
T2 500000
T3 50

Happy Working

Where did you get these questions from?
Q1. Performance.. is the same. Which one will yield a better throughput and why?
What is the difference between performance and throughput in this context? How in the world throughput could be better when "performance is the same"?
Performance cannot be the same even when Func1 and Func2 contain no more than exactly the same sub-queries as in the 1st SELECT. Functions are called for each row in EMP and each call leads to so called context switch between SQL executor and PL/SQL. This is expensive and may result in substantial increase of elapsed time given the number of rows in EMP is relatively large
On the other hand if the functions contain no more than dummy NULL statement then 2nd query most certainly would perform better
Q2. It depends. With correct statistics and CBO - no, not a chance. With RBO it depends on
1. What is your understanding of "their [tables] sequence of placement in WHERE clause". There are no tables in WHERE clause, there are predicates that mostly deal with table [pseudo]columns
2. Are there any indexes on the tables
3. Which expressions do you use in WHERE clause
4. etc..
Consider following:
DROP TABLE T1;
DROP TABLE T2;
DROP TABLE T3;
CREATE TABLE T1(C1 NUMBER CONSTRAINT T1_PK PRIMARY KEY);
CREATE TABLE T2(C2 NUMBER CONSTRAINT T2_PK PRIMARY KEY);
CREATE TABLE T3(C3 NUMBER CONSTRAINT T3_PK PRIMARY KEY);
INSERT INTO T1 (SELECT OBJECT_ID FROM ALL_OBJECTS);
INSERT INTO T2 (SELECT OBJECT_ID FROM ALL_OBJECTS WHERE ROWNUM <= 1);
INSERT INTO T3 (SELECT OBJECT_ID FROM ALL_OBJECTS WHERE ROWNUM <= 1000);
SET AUTOTRACE TRACEONLY
SELECT --+ RULE

• Data plans question

I am a little unclear how the data plans work with AT&T. I rarely have a need for a data plan, not even once a month, but I would like to have it available for when I do need it as inexpensive as possible. So here are a couple questions I have.
If I sign up for the least expensive plan, and I happen to go over, does it just bump me automatically to the highest usage plan for just that month?
If I use zero dta for a few months, I assume I will still insure the bill anyways. Am I correct in this assumption?

http://www.att.com/esupport/article.jsp?sid=KB413502&cv=820#fbid=m8vtNf8NeYg
It will charge you for overages. They renew every month, so if you do not need data for a month or more, cancel it right on your iPad. And yes, if you don't cancel, you'll pay the bill every month.

• Marketing Plan - Questions

Dear friends,
I have created a marketing plan using crm_mktpl, and assigned a marketing org to it.
What happens to the market plan after its created.. how does the marketing manager know that a plan is created and he needs to approve it. where is the link.
My question is, I want to find out like this how many marketing plans are created for a given marketing org / all marketing org.
And how do I link a prospect generated because of a particular marketing campaign when a business runs many to understand the effectiveness of say a TV advt or Newspaper Ad.
Regards

Dear Sadhu,
Not sure whether your question was answered.
You can use actions to trigger workflow using actions to send an email to inform the approver. if you can use BAdi and trigger a workflow as soon as a status of the pan is changed.
If you want to see the all the plans for a specific marketing organization or marketing organization, you can use standard search feature. if that doesn't satisfy your requirement, you can write a report by using the tables CGPL_PROJECT, CGPL_TASK, CRM_MKTPL_ATTR.

• Consumption-based Planning Question

Dears,
I am working on a presentation for a client in order to help them to decide which SAP Planning Tool should be implemented.
Since it is not a production company and it can be considered closer to a wholesale or retail one my question are related to CBP and SCM:
-Is necessary to customize and run the Consumption-based Planning tool in ERP before implementing a SCM tool (either APO or F&R)? Are they independent? Could it be advisable?
-I read in several website that is not possible in MRP to generate Stock Transfer Orders between Storage Location within the same plant. Has CBP the same constraint?
Thank you very much for your help.
L.C.

L.C.,
-Is necessary to customize and run the Consumption-based Planning tool in ERP before implementing a SCM tool (either APO or F&R)?
Not exactly. You will have to do some customization in ERP regardless of whether you additionally implement SCM planning, because all of the execution is done in the OLTP (ERP).
Are they independent?
If you mean are ERP and SCM independent, the answer is yes, they are independent. You can run SCM without ERP, and you can run ERP without SCM.
Could it be advisable?
Good question. Depends on your point of view. Establishing a new implementation of CBP is a substantial project. Adding on an implementation of SCM means additional complexity. The payoff is more features. The client has to choose.
-I read in several website that is not possible in MRP to generate Stock Transfer Orders between Storage Location within the same plant.
Neither MRP nor CBP planning can create stock transport orders, they create stock transport requisitions. CBP does not have any more or less restrictions than MRP as far as the creation of stock transport orders or stock transport requisitions are concerned. STR/STOs between storage locations became possible starting, I believe, in ECC 5.0. R/3 4.7 did not support this feature.
Sounds like you are going to need a bit of help with your presentations. The following site contains quite a few high level presentations about SCM planning you might want to incorporate into your presentation:
