Hosting Issues

Hi All
Hope everyone is well.
We have a customer who has a French domain, www.sunnyheat.fr
I am trying to point his DNS to the BC servers in Europe and his registrant have sent me the following message. Can anybody shed any light on the following below? Would appreciate some help BC gurus.
Thank you

Dear customer,
We are writing you about your DNS change issue related to the domain name "sunnyheat.fr".
Indeed, DNSs changes for ".fr" domains have to comply with some technical constraints which have been set by AFNIC (french authority for ".fr" domains).
More precisely AFNIC imposes that his ZoneCheck test (tool allowing to know if a domain name is correctly declared on the servers) is passed with success. Here is the ZoneCheck report:
Test results
---- warning ----
The format of the serial number is not YYYYMMDDnn
Ref: RFC1912 (p.3)
The recommended syntax is YYYYMMDDnn (YYYY=year, MM=month, DD=day, nn=revision number).
The serial 1347393785 doesn't seem to be in the YYYYMMDDnn format.

The nameserver list doesn't match the given one
The given nameserver list (ns1.worldsecuresystems.com, ns2.worldsecuresystems.com, ns3.worldsecuresystems.com) is not consistent with the one retrieved from the zone (ns01.6sm.co.uk, ns02.6sm.co.uk, ns03.6sm.co.uk).
ns2.worldsecuresystems.com/192.150.8.143
Final status
FAILURE (and 1 warning(s))
We invite you therefore to contact the administrators of the "World Secure Systems" servers so that they can configure your domain name on their own servers. Once this is done, your DNSs change will be validated by AFNIC. Don't hesitate to provide them with the ZoneCheck report as it will help them to directly identify the problems.
We hope this information has been helpful.
Best regards,
Romain

  • FMS Audio (MP3) Glitches - Hosting Issue or Not

I've got several webinars that an associate of mine helped me
build several years ago in Flash MX 2004. They are about 40 minutes
long, but have been broken into about 8 chapters (seperate .swf
files). The .swf files connect to audio (mp3) streams running off
of an external hosted FMS server via RTMP. We are using the older
MediaDisplay and MediaPlayback components from MX 2004 to play the
audio while the screens within Flash are setup with cuepoints to
    sync to the audio.
This has worked for years, except the problem is that the
chapters do not always seem to make the connection to the external
FMS audio. Sometimes simply pressing the pause button on and off
will get it to play. Other times you have to refresh the screen. I
can't figure out if this is a hosting issue or not. We have tried a
few different FMS hosts at this point at about the $100/month
plans, but keep having the same problems.
What can we do to eliminate (or diminish) these connection
problems? We really don't want to redevelop these at this point in
time, so if there is anything we can do to modify what we have or
our hosting, that would be helpful.
    thanks,
    route3w

It sounds like the swf doesn't handle onSync correctly. I
would suggest logging the connection event, stream events, etc to
gain more insight into the problem (both client side logging and
    server side).

  • If you're having Podcast hosting issues on a non-.mac site, please read:

So, last night I spent an insane amount of time trying to figure out why my podcast wasn't working on my website. I host my domain with godaddy.com and I just knew it was a hosting issue, not a iWeb or .m4a issue. Sure enough, I was on a Windows webserver and as soon as I requested to be put on a Linux server, my Podcast was playing properly on both my website and iTunes. I saw many people on the board with the same problem and I'm here to tell you, SWITCH TO A LINUX WEB SERVER! =) Later!
    Nick
    http://www.nickhobart.org

i was able to change it through my control panel on my host's website. i think windows web server runs on IIS or something lame like that and linux, well, not sure what runs on that...maybe apache? anyway, thank God for being able to switch on the fly. what a nightmare.

  • Can't publish draft, are there known server/hoster issues?

    Hi there,
I'm using ICE for a site I created, but every time I try to publish my draft, it keeps telling me there's a new version of the page and that it has to reload it.
I'm the only one working on the site as it is still in testing fase, so nobody else can make changes to it but me.
If I try to publish the draft after I reload, I get the same message over and over again...
Are there known issues with hosters or types of servers where ICE doesn't work? I'm using Servage hosting in Europe at the moment.
A while ago I had the same problem with another site, when I changed servers, to one that wasn't hosted by Servage, everything worked much better. Still not in the way I was hoping for, but much better. Fortunately this was a site that didn't have to go online, it was just to demonstrate ICE on a convention in Holland.
I hope somebody has an answer, because I really want to use ICE on this site I'm making now. This site has to go online eventually.
    Thnx in advance.
    Greetz, Kasper

I also have the same problem if I want to edit the pages. It keeps telling me there's a new version of the page and that it needs to reload. Does anybody else have the same problem. Maybe one time in 50 times it goes to edit mode and 1 time in a 100 it publishes the draft. This doesnt make me very happy:-(
Can I invite anybody from the ICE team to check it out...
The URL for the site is http://www.bizznizzcleaning.nl.
    Thnx

  • Resolving host issues

Is anyone having Internet issues after the last OS upgrade.  Ever since I updated my iMacs I am having "host resolution" issues.

Yes, I am too and many others.

  • X200: 64-bit Linux guest on 32-bit Windows XP host issues

I'm encountering an issue when trying to run a 64-bit Debian distribution (using VMWare ACE) on a 32-bit Windows XP SP3 Pro installation.  In short, upon launching the VM I receive an error message stating "Your CPU does not support long mode.  Use a 32bit distribution".  I have verified that the Intel VT settings are enabled in the BIOS (ver. 2.02), and have updated to the most recent chipset driver version; no luck.
I was initially encountering the same issue on a T500, but that was subsequently resolved by a BIOS update (to ver. 1.20).  Has anyone else run into this issue with the X200?  Does anyone know if Lenovo is aware of this problem?  I called Lenovo support but was told they could not help me with this problem.  I asked if I could escalate this to an engineer and was also told "no" to that.

Thanks for your response but no, the issue isn't due to the host OS as this works fine on the T61 and T500 series of laptops.  Actually, I initally had the same issue with the T500, but it was resolved by a BIOS update.  My belief is that there is a problem with the way Lenovo has implemented Intel's VT support in the X200 BIOS (Intel VT is the technology that allows you to run a 64-bit guest in a 32-bit host).

  • Virtual Hosts Issues

I have a fresh install of Mac OS X 10.4 Server, and am having some problems setting up virtual hosts. I have 2 sites I'd like to host. Both are configured under the Sites tab of Web services. Both are pointing to different web folders. Both are using the same IP (the only IP this server has), and both are using port 80.
Regardless of which site I try to access, I always get the first sites default page. I've already checked to make sure it's not a caching issue, and I have turned on the vhostaliasmodule.
I've read through some old posts on this subject, but haven't found a solution that works yet. Any one know how to resolve this? Thanks!

    Ha!
    I finally figured it out.
In httpd.conf, at the end of the file there's a section stating to use all of the .conf files in the /etc/httpd/sites directory. Seemingly, Mac OS X Server sets up every site as a virtual host, and creates a .conf file for each site in this directory. The issue ended up being that the directive in http.conf was:
    Include "/etc/httpd/sites/*.conf"
I removed the quotes and both of my virtual hosts are working now.
I don't know if this is a bug, or if there's supposed to be some other way to make this work.
Thanks for the help from all of you!

  • Tomcat 5.5 virtual hosting issue

My hosting provider migrated to newer tomcat version i guess 5.5, that needs additional modifications to applications code because it handles each sub-directory as separate web application with its own context element.
    http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-5.5-doc/config/host.html
Any subdirectory within the application base directory will receive an automatically generated Context element, even if this
directory is not mentioned in the conf/server.xml file. This generated Context entry will be configured according to the
defaults configured for this Host element. The context path for this deployed Context will be a slash character ("/")
followed by the directory name, unless the directory name is ROOT, in which case the context path will be an empty string("").Because my server was upgraded to tomcat 5.5, website is not working properly. I am facing a problem of broken URLs of images and other stuff that's because I have some files stored in : public_html/jsp folder and the new server treats jsp as another web context so pages under this URL are not showing up properly.
check out the menu links for example:
    http://www.xyz.com/jsp/entry/tickets.jsp
Only the homepage http://www.xyz.com is working properly.
If you could help me how to fix this issue, with out changing the code because if I change the code it won't be portable any more.
    Regards,
    Jawed Ali

I don't now the answer, but here are some ideas on how to fix it:
Create a simple hello world project with a JSP page and servlet where each displays 'hello world'. Build and deploy it using the version of tomcat you are interested in. Add items to the projects context file one at a time and make sure each works before adding the next item. This way, if it does not work, you know exactly where the problem is.
(if you add more than one item and both are broken, you will never know if you fixed one problem since the other problem remains broken and therefore you don't know if the first problem is fixed or not).
You can also install an IDE such as Eclipse, tell it to deploy a project using the version of tomcat you're interested in, and seeing what context file it generated and where it deployed to.

  • IWeb '08:  domain and web hosting issues

This is a comment on iWeb '08 in conjuction with a .mac account:
I was delighted when I first read in Macworld about the new iWeb '08, as I had hoped very much, being a fledgling small business owner, and having very little computer web-coding knowledge, to be able to easily put up a great website with my own domain. I thought, "wow, I can now use these for my own domain name, publishing easily via .mac.!"
Well, as I pursued my research on this, I found also through Macworld (here is the link)
http://www.macworld.com/2007/08/reviews/iweb08/index.php -- that as great as iWeb '08 is, if you truly want to have a smooth experience with your own website, and are not a practiced web-techie, the iWeb/.mac/yourowndomain.com will hobble you in various ways. See further discussions of this on the .mac forums.
    My suggestion to Apple:
    1) Why not just sell the iWeb templates in a separate package, so that they can be used freely on personal or commercial domains registered with chosen web hosting companies? Apple can of course, choose the price on this!
    2) If Apple is going to do iWeb templates, they need to remain in the accepted, easily downloadable format that is required of everything else on the Internet. .mac forum posters complained about the long download time and apparently didn't realize that iWeb images are in the PNG file-heavy format instead of JPG. Converting these to JPG causes you to lose some design features in the original files.
    3) Or, why not just have a really simple, Apple-intuitive web-design program using a bunch of templates that you can customize to some extent? This would be something especially for non-tech types like me who just want to easily put up a simpler classy website whether for small business or personal use.
    4) If you are going to be a web hosting company, be a web hosting company! Or else, just say it plainly, ".mac is for you to have a family and friends website, and that's it!" Why have all the current hassles involved with publishing via .mac to yourowndomain.com? Apple has great things going and could be a top notch web-hoster for all the mac owners. The beauty of Apple is the classy design, and the intuitive nature of (well, most of) its products.
I think you have lots and lots of host-and-design-your-website-right-with-dotmac wannabes waiting in the wings out there!
Just my two cents. Or three or four...

I think I was struggling with the same issue. I have a small commercial site and it would not be appropriate to link direct to .mac. I really like the ease that changes can be made to .mac so I added a cname record to "mydomain.com". It just kicked in yesterday but it seems to work great (hosted by aplus.net). The address bars shows "mydomain.com/whatever" as you work your way thru the web site. I was under the impression that it would only show "mydomain.com" even if you were in pages within the site. I am definitely a non-tech type when it comes to web sites. Seems I now have the best of both worlds - I can make changes to the site in minutes with no ftp, and users see the correct domain name...
My only concern: how does google handle indexing???

We've done tests with Google DNS, same issue.
ADSL connection seems fine and speed is good (about as fast as it will go.)..which indicates that the problem is not ADSL but may be either the Home Hub 3 or something in the BT infrastructure.
We are due Infinty roll out this month (delayed 3 months) - we speculated that our problems are due to issues with that roll out since it started and has been getting worse since the original FTTC avaialbility date.

  • Chart #HOST# issue

Here's one I just came across. I developed a system that is using an internal server. It can be accessed from an external website in order to run it in user mode. The problem is that when the charts are being called through the external website, it is trying to use the IP Address of the internal server along with the port number for the #HOST# valuse instead of using the external link (like everything else appears to do.) I have created a "work-around" for the time being in which I replaced the #HOST# values with &HOST_URL. and setup a substitution string that has the external link setup in it. Now it works externally, but not internally.
Is there anyway to have the system use the external link for the #HOST# and the IP Address if it is internal? I'm pretty sure that the whole thing is supposed to be automatic, but since it seems pretty consistent that the charts are failing, I want to make sure that I fix the problem in the best manner possible. Thanks.

  • Flex Application Hosting issue unable to access webservice from another machine

    Hi all,
I am having a flex application which is using webservice of the asp.net.When I host this application on the machine in which the webservice is present then it works fine. But when I am hosting the application on the another machine then the webservice is not being called. If any body have any idea pls suggest.
    Thnx in Advance,
    Shardul Singh Bartwal

You may need a crossdomain.xml file. Flex security does not allow your SWF to access data on other domains without it.
In this case even mysub.myCompany.com is considered a different domain from www.myCompany .com.

  • AEBS/AE/AE/AE DMZ ("Default Host") issue?

Hi! Just a little background on my problem, I have an AEBS(n) talking to an AE (bridge), which then talks to two other AEs (remote 1, remote 2). This is configured using WDS because I found if I used the standard "Extend a network" / "Join a network" configuration, remote 1 would connect to remote 2 which in turn connected to the bridge, which was sub-optimal.
My problem is that on remote 2, I have my PS3 plugged in, and I've given the PS3 a static IP and set it as a default host. I can connect to the Playstation Network fine, get NAT type 2 status, but for some reason can't connect to LittleBigPlanet (which I understand is a new game, and I may be facing other problems besides network configuration...)
My question is actually: can you set a device that's two hops away from the router as a DMZ? Or does a DMZ need to be connected to the router/gateway?

I'd like to add one bit of information.
Using Transmit, if I am logged on to our LAN "in house," then I MUST use PASV mode for Transmit to connect. This is true whether whether I connect by using our domain name or our static IP address.
However, if I am "out in the world" and connecting like a regular user, I must DESELECT PASV mode in order to connect with Transmit. This was never the case until we put our server "behind" the AE as a "default host."
It really seems like there's something fishy about the way ftp messages are sent through the AE, even when the target server is made the default host.

  • Dreamweaver CS3 Airport Extreme Yahoo hosting issue

I keep getting DW error messages when trying to upload any file over 1MB since adding AE to my workflow. I can upload small files such as 18k image files all day, but if I try to upload a pdf or .mov for a client, I get an error message at the end of the upload. The message says DW didn't get a response from the server... will try to upload file again. After the second attempt, I get a message saying the operation timed out. No response from server. I have been uploading to these accounts for several years without a hitch until now.
This error is happening with several yahoo hosted accounts.

    UPDATE:
Deleting the DW pref file fixed in ...User/Library/Preferences/ fixed the problem.
