Poor metadata needs to be corrected if the album is to display properly in iTunes. iTunes sees an "album" as any collection of tracks with the same Album title and the same Album Artist (or Artist if Album Artist isn't set). Each track of the album should have distinct Track V of W and Disc X of Y vaules. W,X,Y are optional, but X may be needed for multi disc albums.

There is no "adding" a device. Simply plug the iDevice into the computer. iTunes should automatically detect the device when it is connected.
iTunes can sync/manage as many iDevices as you want... there is no 1 device limit.

But the problem is that this personal computer doesn't have a CD drive. I was thinking about installing iTunes on another computer (that does have a CD drive) and transfering the songs from the CD here and then connect my ipod to transfer the album. But will my ipod synce in this new computer and make a security copy and delete all my previous songs (from my personal computer)? And also, will I be able to transfer the album from my ipod to the iTunes library in my personal computer? Or is there any other solution for this? Thank you.

Be careful, the method you describe will indeed delete the contents of your iPod.
Instead, after you rip your CD on the other computer, copy the resulting song files to a flash drive. Then copy them from the flash drive to your main computer, and add them to your iTunes library.

How can I set the gain on a SCXI-1102 module without having my computer lock-up for 3 seconds?

Forgive my insolence, but did it never occur to anyone that spinning in a hard loop while polling a status register to set a gain for 3 seconds isn�t a great idea?
I have a number of SCXI-1102 modules to set the gains on, and it takes several seconds for each. Reading the documentation on the subject indicates that the SCXI_Set_Gain call polls a status register waiting for the gain to settle before returning � and it doesn�t even yield while doing so.
Are there any other ways I can set the gain? Is there a way that doesn't poll the register that returns in a reasonable amount of time?
AFAICT, there's no good reason to only allow one module to be s
etting its gain at a time. An asynchronous call it really needed - one that makes it the API programmer's responsibility to check the status of the register, or one that spawns a thread and sleeps between polls, and signals an event or invokes a callback or some-such-thing. Or you could even just sleep for three seconds after setting all the gains, this way the delay would be 3 seconds total � not 3 seconds for each gain set.

This NI-DAQ function call directly accesses the nidaq32.dll. While the nidaq32.dll is multithread safe, it is not a multithreaded DLL. This is also described in the KnowledgeBase entry 1V9DSHDM: "Can NI-DAQ Handle Different Operations at the Same Time? Is It a Multi-threaded DLL?"
You are correct that the SCXI_Set_Gain function is not asynchronous. Thus, you do have to wait till that function returns before calling the next one. LabVIEW has found a way around this. So, you can actually use the LabVIEW functions to set the gain on these modules without having to wait as you do with SCXI_Set_Gain.

it is possible that zoom maybe enabled i think double taping with three fingers should disable it.
or you can go into settings>general> assessability> zoom and turn it off.

How can I delete all those ! dead files from iTunes without having to do it manually?

I recently merged 2 iTunes libraries into 1 on a PC. This has resulted in 1000's of dead files, notated by a ! (exclamation point). Does anyone know of a quick way of removing all of these without needing to spend many hours doing it manually?

Create a playlist called Found, select everything in Music and drag it into the Found playlist (it may take some time to count the tracks that are to be dropped). Create a smart playlist called Lostmatching All the rules Playlist is Music and Playlist is not Found. Your lost tracks will be in this playlist. You should be able to select all the tracks in this playlist with CTRL-A and then remove them from iTunes with CTRL-SHIFT-DELETE.
Or use iTunes Folder Watch with its option to check for dead tracks on start up.
However if the broken tracks are duplicates of non-broken files then I've written a script called DeDuper which can help remove unwanted duplicates, merge ratings, play counts and playlist membership, and remove dupes with dead links as long as there is one real file to merge the stats to. See this thread for background. I also have a tool called FindTracks for fixing the broken links if the files are sill there but not quite where iTunes is looking for them. Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.

Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting the incomplete tracks from your iTunes library and redownload them via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if they re-download in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find those songs and use the 'Report a Problem' link.

Whether you can redownload music depends upon what country that you in. If you are using your computer's iTunes then does music show in the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page (on your phone you might be able to redownload media via the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app) ? If music shows there, but not that album, then check to see if it's hidden : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919
If you aren't in a country when you can redownload music and it's still on your phone then you should be able to copy it over from the phone via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion. Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If you have failed to bakup, then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod: File>Transfer Purchases
