Huh? There is no speech to text key. There are some apps such as Dragon Dictation and Vlingo that will do speech to text. They're available in the App Store.

i downloaded a ppt 2013 document from my email using firefox, worked on it, was hitting save button several times. when done, i couldn't retrieve it. I see inactive ppt doc on the downloads section of mozilla on the right upper area that can't be open.

You should always use Save As to save a document to a different location to avoid dataloss in such cases.
Firefox saves files that are passed to another application to the temp folder and it is not guaranteed that the file is kept after you close that application.
So if you replaced the file by using save then it is likely that this has happened and the file got deleted.
You can try to check if there is an undo history available in the program that you used to recover this file.
If not then you would have to use an undelete utility to recover this file.

Looking at web pages some key words are underlined or marked. Moving the cursor across them brings out a flag with directions to ask what it is. Are you perhaps using Google Calendar as your main calendar service? There is an option in Google Calendar to have text alerts sent to your phone for events. Log into Google Calendar on your computer and disable that feature.

You'd do that if you wanted to add in all your contacts from facebook - it makes it useful to find out who's using other apps - 4 square - whatsapp, facetime etc. I had many facebook contacts that I don't call, however if they are using other things, I might be talking to them. So yeah, I decided to bring in all my facebook contacts. It has created a mess that I'm trying to clean up though. The mess is that I have a lot of duplicate contacts ( a facebook contact of Mary Smith and a contact on my phone of Aunt Mary). I know that when I go and edit one of the 2, there is an option to link the 2, which will then merge the data (adds email info, birthday, facebook contact info, twitter etc) but it doesn't delete one of the contacts. It should give an option to delete one of the merged contacts.. but it doesn't. I'm not sure how to fix this. I've been asking the boards here, but no solution has been given.

I went to use my phone last night and suddenly it says activation is required (which I'm not sure I understand alone) but I began to go through the steps and it says it can not activate because the beta has expired and I need to do a system restore. So I proceeded to do the system restore by plugging into iTunes and it tells me it cannot do a restore unless I turn off find my iPhone but my phone will not allow me to look at any settings other than my wifi settings in its current state. I think I'm having a similar problem, my wifi disconnects when a bluetooth device is connected to the MBA.
I have a MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2012) with WiFi and Apple Trackpad. I'm unable to use the trackpad(bluetooth) and wifi at the same time. If I turn off the trackpad then the wifi works fine and if I shutoff the wifi then the trackpad works fine. This configuration was working fine prior to upgrading to Yosemite.
I experienced the same problem at home and at the office.
Additional test:
I turned off the bluetooth trackpad and connected my bluetooth headphones to the MBA. The wifi disconnected as soon as I paired the headphones with the MBA.
I have had no problems with the MBA's keyboard or integrated trackpad.

Kids have multiple devices that I don't want on the network at certain hours. On the other hand, ideally, my wife and I would like to be able to access the internet with our devices after the kid's bedtime and during their school study time.
