How do i back up my old ipod touch and then synch it to my new iphone without losing what i already have on the iphone?
hi so i got a new i phone for my birthday and so i was going to give my old ipod touch to my little sis but first i need to figure out how to transfer all the data on my ipod over to my iphone without losing all the data that is already on my iphone? can someone please help me?
An iPod backup can only be restored to another iPod.
What information are you needing to take off and sync to the iPhone?
You will need to import photos to the computer: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083
You can transfer all iTunes purchases to the iTunes library: connect to iTunes > File > Transfer purchases from iPod
You will want to sync contacts, calendars to the computer: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1296

My ipod touch broke then replaced it with a new one. I already dloaded iOS5 on the old one. When I connected my new unit it says it won't load the previous back because the new one is not up to date... Do I really have to download iOS5 again?
Yes, you have to update the iPod in order to retore from backup. The iOS on the "new" has to be aequal to r greater than on the iPod from which the backup was made. The iOS downloads are unique to an iDevice and model (the one for a 3G iPod will not work for a 4G iPod).

I have an old ipod touch, and have just purchased a new 4th Gen one. How do I get my Apps from the old one to the new one. I've had to wipe the hard drive on my Pc so they aren't in my I tunes.
- Transfer your iTunes' purchases to the new computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
- Try making a backup of the iPod by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and selecting Backup.
- Connect your new iPod and restore the iPod from that backup if you wish. -

As a grand parent, how can I put some apps on an ipod touch and then give it as a gift?
As a grand parent, how can I put some apps on an ipod touch and then give it as a gift?
Apps and many other purchases are tied to the iTunes Store account via which they were purchased. So if you buy the app, that app is tied to your iTunes Store account. Without that account information, the child could not update the app nor back it up.
I'd also suggest giving the child an iTunes gift card or gift certificate along with the iPod. If the child is too young to have and manage his or her own iTunes Store account, then his or her parent could set up an iTunes Store account to purchase the apps. That could be done with that gift card and not need a credit card. You can also gift specific apps, though again that would require the child or a parent to open an iTunes Store account through which to redeem the gift. For more information on gift options, see:

I've got the old Ipod touch and i want to update it but i can't!
I've got the old ipod Touch and everytime i want to download something it will say i need an update!! Ive tried nearly everything don't know how to make it work
If you're trying to run an app that requires a newer version of iOS, you may be out of luck. A 1st-generation iPod touch can only run up through iOS 3.1.3, and the 2nd-generation model only up through iOS 4.2.1. If you have one of those models and are trying to run an app that requires iOS 4.3 or later, you will not be able to do so.
If you're not sure of your model, see:

- You can redownload yur apps at no additional cost. See:
How to redownload purchased apps from the App Store
- You only get one download of music and it is up to you to make a backup. However, sometimes if you explain what happens the iTunes store may allow a redownload of music. You can contact them by starting here and selecting the appropriate topic:

Ive forgotten the passcode to my ipod touch and we've just got a new internet so its not connected to the internet so i cant restore it from recovery mode how would i restore it?
An internet connection is required.
Forgotten Screen-Lock Passcode
Connect the iOS device to your computer and try to make a backup
iOS: How to back up
Then restore via iTunes. The iOS device will be erased. Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
For how to restore:
iTunes: Restoring iOS software
To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
For without iTunes
If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone and use Remote Wipe to erase the contents of your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode after the device has been erased.
You can also wipe the iOS device by installing the FindMyiPhone app on another iOS device and using that app to wipe the device. -

Hi, I was using my iPod Touch and then all of a sudden, the screen went black. So I held the on/off button and menu button to reboot it. So it turned off then back on but it has been stuck on the loading page for an hour. What's wrong with it?
- Let the battery fully drain. After charging for at least an hour try here:

I have two accounts with iTunes. Can they be merged or somehow combined so that I can have access to everything from both my old iPod Touch and my new iPhone5?
No.
You can authorize your computer for both accounts. Put all of the music on one computer. Sync your devices to that computer. -
i have an old ipod touch and use it everyday now i cant get on facebook and cant download apps which i want as it requires ios 4.3. what use is it to me anymore and are apple willing to do something about it
Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.

Hi, I have just purchased a Macbook, but my iphone is currently synched to my old pc. How can I now synch it with my new mac without losing all the apps/music etc on my phone? Ta
The easiest way is to copy the iTunes folder from your old PC to your MB (put it in the Music folder as a subfolder), along with the other valuable data on the old PC. Or restore it from a backup of your old PC. Then authorize iTunes on the MB to the same account you had on the PC. When you sync it will warn you that your content will be deleted, but it will be replaced with the same content from the MB. Before syncing you should also make sure there is at least one entry in iCal and Address book on the MB (assuming you sync to Outlook or equivalent on the PC) to assure that your contacts and calendar entries will move over correctly.
Al alternative that is less effective is to connect the iPhone to the MB without syncing, and choose "Transfer Purchases" from the iTunes File menu. This willl copy purchases music, videos and apps, but not ripped tracks from the iPhone to the MB.

Is there a way of getting Firefox to automaticly import the Explorer settings upon install?
Hi! I'm trying to repack Firefox 3.6.3 into a MSI for a deployment install trough-out our organization. Since we're using Explorer as the default browser at the moment our users have all their bookmarks and such stored in Explorer. Now I'm wondering.
